I want to buy Zen Sleek Photo and i got few questions:
. Do i need to install driver/program on Windows XP PCs in order to use it as portable HD dri've or it's Plug&And play like Disk on Key?
2. Can I copy MP3 files using Windows Explorer drag&drop *without installing any programs or drivers* or i have to use Windows Media Player + install proprietary driver?
3. Can i browse copied MP3 files by directory? I keep each album in its own directory. I want to keep it the same way on player!
4. Can I mark MP3 files and create/manage playlists in the player? What about erasing files?
5. Any plans for adding text reading option?

I'm not from support but I hope I can answer some of your questions
) The Zen Sleek Photo is 'plug and play' for music and photos (no drivers are needed). To transfer other documents that do not appear on the player (i.e. to use the player as a portable hard dri've), you can partition up to 6 GB for this purpose. This section of the player's dri've will appear as a removable disk dri've in Windows Explorer.
2) You can drag and drop all files via Windows Explorer without drivers. Or you can use Creative Media Source Organiser or WMP 0, again without drivers.
3) You cannot browse by directory on the player itself. The Zen Sleek Photo uses the 'search by ID3 tag' menu system (i.e. by Album/Artist/Genre), developed by Creative and used by most other players also. You can however store your player's files in folders, but be aware that these are only viewable/searchable via a PC in Windows Explorer or Mediasource, and cannot be viewed on the player itself. The titles of these folders do not have to bear any relation to the Album/Artist/Genre tag information. Also be aware that due to an annoying limitation of Microsoft's Media Transfer Protocol (which the Zen Sleek Photo comforms to), you cannot move files between folders on the player. You can only Create/Delete folders and add new tracks/delete tracks. If this annoys you, you can just keep your tracks in one folder or not create folders at all.
4) You can create, name, add to, delete and remove tracks from playlists on the go. There is a guide on how to do this for the Zen Micro at the top of this forum: http://forums.creative.com/creativel...essage.id=0736 The process for the Zen Sleek Photo is very similar. Some advanced features such as 'Smart Playlists' can only be accessed via a PC. The Sleek Photo has a bookmarking facility for up to 0 audio tracks. Erasing files can be done easily when the track/photo is selected or is playing in the 'Now Playing' area. Just go to the 'options' button and click 'delete track'. You can also erase Artists, Albums and Genres.

Licensing question for apple support

Posting this here as I cannot find a support email address anywhere.
I have bought one batch of songs from itunes with the intent to convert them to mp3pro files. The official line seems to be Burn them to cd then rip them as if it's a store bought CD. Because I am working with 100 songs at a time this was a very tedious process. I found a piece of software that converted them from m4p directly to mp3 by playing them through my sound card and perfectly preserved the id3 tags. The tags btw were non existent using the burn method making the tedium exponentially worse.
I cannot find any wording in the apple licensing to prevent this but would like to know their official position.
These will never be shared or given away, the question is purely about one method vs another of reaching a common goal.

Simply put, it is possible but not practical to use an Apple TV with a standard definition TV. The long version:
Apple TV is designed for widescreen TV's, either ED (extended definition) or HD (high definition). However, it does support 480i (NTSC) & 576i (PAL) output formats, which are standard TV broadcast formats.
The problem is few standard TV's accept component inputs (the three cable, luminance & color difference signals the Apple TV outputs, not to be confused with the RGB component standard supported by some SCART TV's), so you generally would need a fairly expensive converter to make these signals compatible with a standard TV.
Even so, unless your TV has a high performance RGB or component input, or a DVI or at least VGA input, the results will be unacceptable, since composite or S-Video inputs of standard TV's lack the bandwidth necessary to display Apple TV's high resolution images without smearing, color fringing, & other visual artifacts.
Also, Apple TV cannot play DVD's -- it has no DVD player built-in & no support to display DVD's running on a host computer.
So, one alternative is to buy a video-capable iPod & a dock, which outputs standard definition video. This is more expensive than an Apple TV but probably not more expensive than one plus the converter you will likely need, & of course gives you a portable video device.
Another alternative is to buy a compatible display, which could be a widescreen computer monitor with a DVI input. You could also burn some of your content to CD's & DVD's & use them in an inexpensive DVD player along with a standard TV.

Question for Creative staff about final X-Fi dri

I was wondering if you guys are going to release the portion of the x-fri drivers for Vista that we could get for XP off of the CD. By this I mean the nice little GUI that we could mess with treble and bass and all the other setting that is not that base function creative audio console you get with the web drivers. I ask this because I li've in an apartment and it is absolutely necessary for my to turn the bass off on my sub woofer AND in my drivers at certain times and as of now with the creative audio console in vista I cannot do that. I want the little knobs back guys! Also i think it is only fair you guys re-create the full software package that was for XP on the cd that came with the card as that is the kind of ease and functionality we paid for. The only reason I am not on vista now is because I cannot easily control my bass and treble witht hat creative audio console and I'm not even kidding!

If the drivers take 2-3 months just to get in order, how long do you think they will take to make the more "complicated" software?

A question for Creative Muvo2 FM

Will Creative ever going to create & released an LCD Remote Control for this model? Why haven't they bundle a remote control for this mp3 player just like its previous models like the .5 & 4gb model even though they don't have FM.

The MuVo? 5GB FM Player does come bundled with a wired remote. Did you purchase this as new retail package off the shelves? Check the package content listing on the box and see if it's written there.

Has been working for atleast a year.
Podcast & music sync to iPhone works fine.
Tested on three different internet connections - wireless, modem & cable.
No firewall.
No virus programs.
No autostart programs running.

If you've already tried basic iTunes Store connection troubleshooting, try Using new iTunes Preferences.
Another thing that resolved a simliar issue for me was toggling Parental Controls on/off.

Question for Creative: MuVo Micro N200 - AC adapter accessorie

The MuVo Micro N200 is a great wearable audio player, and I am close to purchasing - BUT - there's one thing holding me back: There doesn't seem to be a way for me to use it as my regular jukebox at home, without having to connect it to a computer. What I'm looking for is a way to plug the MuVo to AC power so that I don't use the battery when at home. Is there such an accessory? Like a USB-to-AC charger cable? And while we're at it, why not a USB-to-DC cable, for the car?

I just got my n200 gb, and love it except the lag between getting it and getting the rechargeable batteries to go with it (Thanks Amazon...). If I was near a pc to power it through usb, I wouldn't need an mp3 player, and since I am always near a cigarette lighter in the car or a power outlet, I have decided to jury-rig a power adapter to fit where the battery normally goes (don't try this at home, kids...). A little radioshack love and the mod will save me on recharging time with the batteries (800mah does last a ridiculously long time in the thing, but why bother when I'm near other power anyway) and I will wait out creative's next gen flash player.

Question for Creative regarding Model

My card has Audigy 2 model number SB0240 printed on it. Is this an Audigy 2 or Audigy 2 ZS? It was bought from BestBuy 5 months ago. It has gold ports and the Firewire port. I can't match up the model number to those on the Creative site. My husband thinks it's a plain Audigy 2, but some of the screenshots I've seen suggest it is a ZS. We don't remember. SB0240 refer to a Audigy 2 card and not Audigy 2 ZS(SB0350). Hope that clear things up for you.

Sincere Questions for Creative's "PRODUCT_MANAG

I have an MSI K8N Diamond Plus motherboard with an AMD X2 4800+ dual core processor and I am running two XFX GeForce 7900GTX video cards for SLI functionality. When SLI is enabled via Nvidia's driver, I have the horrible sound problems with the X-FI, but when I disable SLI via the driver and I don't even have to reboot, the problem goes away.
Has there been any testing done with dual core/SLI configurations in your labs where this exact same situation can reproduced consistently? The above scenario is applicable every time. I enable SLI, I have the problem and when I disable SLI, I don't have the problem. Also, if you have any dual core/SLI configurations in your lab, have any of them not had the problems with SLI enabled and if so, what configurations were they?
My scenario would seemingly be a PCI bus saturation issue, but is that something that could be resolved through drivers or a firmware update or is it a genuine technical limitation?

I just did a little testing. The current version of Pages in iWork 08 did better than I expected. It has both Word Processor and Page Layout modes. Page Layout mode lets you add real pages and word like a layout application.
It places Photoshop and AI files with PDF preview, and the first page of a regular PDF file (I couldn't find where you could choose pages). Choose Insert > Choose. The Help says it accepts all QuickTime-supported file formats.
"After importing an image into a document, you can mask (crop) it and change its brightness and other settings. You can place an image inside a shape, text box, chart element, or table cell. Pages also lets you work with graphics with transparency (alpha-channel graphics)."
Also supports adding 2 and 3D charts, sounds, movies.
I created objects and colored them with the CMYK sliders. I didn't see a way of choosing spot colors.
PDF is one of the export formats (without the choices of course of InDesign). It correctly exported the PSD, AI file, and PDF. It correctly passed the spot colors in the AI and PDF files into the exported PDF. And the CMYK-colored pages objects came out in CMYK!
Much better than Microsoft Word.

Simple question for Apple Support, iTunes fails after immediate error message.

I am currently in a situation that after starting up iTunes (on Windows), immediately a pop-up error message tells me " Nieuwe iTunes-bibliotheek", i.e. "New iTunes Library"
After this message nothing happens anymore. Any help will be appreciated.

I don't know if any of this will help, but the first thing I'd suggest is to get a good antispyware checker and give it a go at your system. Some recent spyware has been reported by other users to shut down iTunes or prevents it from launching. From user reports, Ewido seems to be the best at catching it. You can download a free version of Ewido here.
If that doesn't cure the problem, try deleting the iTunes preference files:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes.pref
and
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Data\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes.pref
You might have to turn on "show hidden files" to find them. (Right click "my computer", select open, select Tools menu -> Folder Options. Select View tab, "show hidden files" radio button is in the center scrolling panel.) Delete them. This will force iTunes to run the setup assistance the next time you run it and you'll have to go back and set any preferences you've changed from the default.

Creative Support. What R U Doing About The Firmware Update Iss

This post is primarily aimed at Creative Support.
Like many other out there that have a Zen player, i recently decided to upgrade my 40Gb Zen Touch's firmware from .0.03 to the latest PlayforSure version 2..0.
This is what i did on my Dell p.c.
) Upgraded my Win Media Player from version 9 to 0.
2) Backed up all my mp3 data to the HDD.
3) Erased all of the mp3 data from the player.
4) Connected the player to my p.c via USB ( 2.0 ).
5) Ran the firmware update, and selected to proceed with the upgrade.
During this process it warned me that the player may reboot a number of times during the 5min upgrade. The player rebooted twice, but on the 2nd time the update software couldn't initialize the player. I left this for about 5mins, to no joy.
I stopped the update via the close button and disconnected my player. When rebooted this shows the error "Firmware Problem" and proceed's to the Recovery Mode screen.
If i choose the "Reload Firmware" option this proceeds to Erase the firmware and then states "Start firmware update now". Even though the firmware software is on my desktop and the player connected to the p.c it fails to reload the firmware.
Now.... On my p.c, if i go into "My Computer", the player is clearly linked and present as an other linked device. However if i run the firmware update software from the desktop it say's "Your player is not connected, please connect your player".
This is a contradiction since the fact that my computer successfully detects the connected player and Media Player 0 also recognises that it is connected.
Like many other's out there we have paid good money for your products and expect a bit of commitment back to resolve these issues. For now i have player that might as well be a book-end.
Questions to Creative Support:
) Are you fully aware of the amount Zen owners experiencing this problem?
2) Are you working on a fix for this update problem?
3) If yes to question 2, when are we likely to see the results of this?

Wish I had seen this thread before attempting to update my firmware to the SurePlay version.
This is what I did.
I downloaded the Firmware, downloaded the extra software and download Windows Media 0.
I ran the firmware update and connected my player to the computer, no problems.
It said the player would reboot several times and on the 2nd or 3rd, it would no longer connect my device. It would tell me that there were no drivers for the device.
I tried re-booting the player several times, as it will now only boot into recovery.
I have re-installed the drivers, I have even re-verted back to the original drivers from the CD, but it now will not even connect. If I can't connect the device, I can't put any firmware on the Zen, which means I can't use it at all now.
I have been through the knowledge base, but even narrowing down my search to only Zen Touch players, I get several pages of irrelevant information.
I have e-mailed Creative and will see what response I get and I have also posted on another forum.
There must be someone out there that can help sort this, it was an excellent present to me and now its not working

Sounds "sticking" in games and a question for Creat

I'm not sure if this is the best place to do it but I'd like to kind of formally briing forward a bug in games that's not X-Fi dependent. I've had this happen with my Audigy 2 ZS and my Fatalty.
I know this isn't anyone's fault but it's still quite annoying. Sometimes if a player near you starts shooting (usually it's shooting) then the server or he/she lags for a second, his/her gun will be stuck on firing. Till they die or change weapons or fire again, you have that sound looping constantly. At first I thought this was only in BF2 and a bug in the game. However, after playing FEAR online more now, I've had this happen several times. Although it's rare, it is a pain. Sometimes if you ask the player to fire their gun again they will other times they won't.
My question for Creative is, would it be possible to have a "reset" command for the soundcards? Have it flash the RAM real quick or restart the sounds somehow? Just make it a hot key that players could push when it happens?

I am pretty sure I have the same case. The product description on Amazon says VTSO, but the metal tab actually says IVSO. All of the ones I see look like they are probably the same or very similar case with a different name. I bought the QuickShot cover, and it is OK, but it does nothing to protect the corners, which I consider very vulnerable spots. The IVSO/VTSO provides all around coverage. I don't think we are going to find anything much better. If I do I will come back and post.

A few questions before I buy a new iMac/Mac mini and sign up for Creative Cloud.

I am looking to purchase a new Apple computer and sign up for Creative Cloud within the next week and I have a few questions that should be answered before I proceed.
My wife and I own a business and we will be using the CS6 apps to create brochures, Constant Contact mailings, product package inserts, edit product photography for print and web use, and short HD how-to videos. We are not graphics professionals or power users and wont be doing anything too complicated.
Any help and answers will be greatly appreciated.
I will start with the hardware questions first:
I am trying to decide between the iMac and the Mac mini.
The iMac is a 2.7Ghz Quad-core Intel core i5 and comes with 4GB of memory that is expandable to 16GB, which I will do for sure. It comes with a Radeon HD 6770M graphics card with 512MB of GDDR5 memory(not upgradable), and a 1TB HDD that runs at 7200RPM. This unit meets the specs required.
The 2.5Ghz Mac Mini comes with 4GB of memory that is expandable to 8GB, I will also do this. It has a Radeon HD 6630M graphics card with 256MB of GDDR5 memory(not upgradable), and a 500GB HDD that runs at 5400RPM. This unit meets all the spec(I think) except for the speed of the HDD.
Question: Will the mini run the software without too much of an issue considering the speed of the HDD?
Question: Will the iMac run the software significantly better to justify the price difference?
I already have 1 mini(purchased 4 months ago, with the same specs listed above) and will be purchasing a second computer for my wifes desk. If the mini will run CS6 fine, that is great and we can save a few bucks. If my mini will not run CS6 well, I will get the iMac for her desk as she will be doing the bulk of the work in that regard anyway.
Now a couple of software questions.
After reading hundreds of reviews and forum posts over the last few days I have seen many people having this or that issue. It seems to me that most of the issues are because of upgrades from Lion to Mountian Lion after installing CS6 first or trying to open CS3,4,5 files in CS6.

Similar issues are discussed in the Apple forums as well as many other places around the web.
I am not a computer professional but I know enough to maintain my systems and keep them running smoothly.
We do not have any Adobe software installed on my mini and will not be opening any files from previous versions of Adobe product in the new CS6 software. These will be a clean installs on pristine systems running fully updated Mountian Lion OS's on both machines and creating new files from scratch.
Question: Should I be expecting any issues like the ones I have read in the forums and blogs or are these just the normal things that happen when upgrading to new software with multiple hardware configurations?
My feeling is that we will not be having too much of a problem due to the clean installs and no files from previous versions.
Next up, the Creative Cloud(CC) FAQ states that you can install on 2 machines but can't open stuff at the same time.
Question: Does this mean we can't be using any CS6 apps at the same time or just not using the same app at the same time?
Example: PS and PS on both machines at same time = No, PS on one and Dreamweaver on the other at the same time=Yes?
The CC FAQ page says Adobe will add Lightroom 4 later in 2012 while the main CC page lists it as available now.
Question: Which is true?
My mini is registered to me, with my name, iTunes account, Apple ID etc.
Question: Do I need to do the initial set-up of the new machine with all my information to ensure the CS6 suite works on both machines? Do the computers need to be registered(as far as Apple configuration is concerned) to same person for them to work on one CC account or can I install CS6 on any 2 machines regardless of how they were initially set-up?
This may seem like a silly question but I want to avoid any problems before they happen.

I'll try and answer your questions as best I can.
Qn 1 Which Mac.
Ans:- As I understand it both units will run Adobe CS6.
          Which one really depends on what you wand from CS6. If you are looking for high end demand and performance, then I would go for the IMac
          Your Specs for the Imac are right. However if you buy your IMac straight from Apple there are even higher specs.
          You can get:-
                              3.4 GHz i7 processor rather than the i5
                               2GB video card as opposed to a 1Gb video card.
                               Of course such a model will cost you more.
          In the end it is needs compared with money to spend. That is only a decision you cam make.
Q2:- Will the higher cost for the Imac justify copst.
Ans:- Again it depends on what demands you intend to make on the hardware and software.
          But I note you have a business and if that businees expects to high demand and high speedy performance then I suspect the Imac would be more able to provide your needs.
          Again only you will know the answer to that.
Q3:- Questions about CS6 reliability
Ans:- I have been with Adobe for way over 10 years.
         Speaking, only for myself, it is the most reliable software on the market.
          It is true that if you look down this form, like any other and I am thinking about the Apple discussions forum, you will find numerous instances of problems.
          Again this is only my opinion, but although all these problems are real for the individuals:-
          First it is not clear why they have the problem e.g. what have they done or not done.
          Second, they are in the minority of the total users using the hardware / software.
          The only problem I am aware of with CS6 is Acrobat X. I understand it has been sorted Adobe, however it cost me so much work I have removed it from my system and reverted to Acrobat 9
          So what I am saying is that there are only two comapnies I rely 100% on: They are Adobe and Apple.
         So if you are happy with my opinion I would not worry about Adobe CS6
Qn 4:- CS6 0n 2 machines.
Ans:- Yes you will not be able to run the same program similtaneosly.
           I believe, if it is important that you do run the same program together, that you can acquire a further licience from Adobe to do that.
           You would need to contact Adobe about that.
Qn 5:- Lightroom 4
Ans:- Lightroom is now available as part of Creative Cloud.
Qn 6:- Set up for individual machines
Ans:- I do not believe you do. Once you have set up your Creative Cloud account you go to the apps site and download the apps for each machine.
          Each machine downloads the apps and your machine and the apps are registered by Adobe.
         Here is something that you may want to know:-
          Because I was so unhappy loosing all the Acrobat data with Acrobat X I ended up deleting Acrobat X
          However as far as Creative Cloud is concered Acrobat X is still on my machine.
          It is not a problem for me because I am happy with Acrobat 9, it fullfils my needs and has not crashed and lost me all my bookmarks.
          However here is the point:-
          Adobe, when there was a problem with Acrobat X requested that no-one deletes the application.
         Though I do not know for certain I believe registration of the apps you have with Creative Cloud are registered with Creative Cloud in their database. Therefore were you to delete an app, it will still be registered with Creative Cloud and you will not be able to download a further copy even though the app is no longer on your    machine.
          Therefore it maybe not a good idea to delete an app when you no longer have a use for it. If you want it back I suspect you will have to contact Adobe Support
Personal Comment:-
          It is true many unfortunately have had all sorts of problems, including me with Acrobat X.
          That said, Creative Cloud in my view has been a major advance in how Adobe delivers software. I have no regrets with signing up to Creative Cloud and I expect to remain with it.

So I have a question for this: I folowed this procedure, but when I'm trying to import the IOS from IMovies in my laptop I receive a message that states that the IMovie version installed doen't supports IOS files, although I have the last version installed with all the updates... Any ideas, thoughts?

I also have Jolly's problem. I found the iMovie 9.0.9 folder and tried to launch the older version of iMove. It would not launch. I removed all of the iMovie preferences from the Preferences folder, removed iMove 10 from the applications folder, and restarted my Mac. iMove 9.0.9 still won't launch and I can't access my videos created with the older version of iMovie. Is there a way to uninstall iMovie 10 and reinstall iMovie 9.0.9?
I am running Yosemitie on a iMac.
