Question on toolbar customization

Hi,
I have a couple of questions relating to toolbar customizations in E-Sourcing
1) I'm unable to view the Toolbar customization setup option using my authorization, is there a way to change enable it
2) Is there a way to rename a tab in the document UI
It would be of great help to get a resolution to them.
Regards,
Balaji

Hi Balaji
Here are the answers to your questions
Toolbar customization.
1) I'm unable to view the Toolbar customization setup option using my authorization, is there a way to change enable it
Ans : You would need to change the security authorization for System Administrator role (If provided to you). Edit the role, select the System option, navigate through the pages. Under the Toolbar Customization roles, enable edit option.
Or create a new role and enable this authorization. Add the new role to your user.
2) Is there a way to rename a tab in the document UI
Ans: Go to the Release guide, click on Toolbar View for the class in question. Take the toolbar ID for the tabs (Parent). Use the notation parent_toolbar_id.Tab Name for customizing.
Make an entry in the Toolbar customization, provide the parent_toolbar_id.Tab Name, Add a new property Display Label and provide a new Display Label Localized resource to change the tab name.
Try this out, it should work

In Firefox Options / Privacy be sure "Remember download history" is checked. To see all of the options on that panel, "Firefox will" must be set to "Use custom settings for history".
To find your OS information, on your Windows desktop, right-click the My Computer icon, choose Properties, under System on that small window is info about your OS.

  • The question about portlet customization and synchronization

I have a question about portlet customization and synchronization.
    When I call
    NameValuePersonalizationObject data = (NameValuePersonalizationObject) PortletRendererUtil.getEditData(portletRenderRequest);
    portletRenderRequest.setPortletTitle(str);
    portletRenderRequest.putString(aKey, aValue);
    PortletRendererUtil.submitEditData(portletRenderRequest, data);
Should I make any synchronization myself (use "synchronized" blocks or something else) or this procedure is made thread-safe on the level of the Portal API?

    HI Dimitry,
I dont think you have to synchronize the block. i guess the code is synchronized internally.

  • Why don't I have any add-on icons in my View|Toolbars|Customize box?

I just installed several extensions to my new FF 5.0.1 and want to put their icons in a toolbar as I have in the FF3.6 on my other computer. But when I select View|Toolbars|Customize none of the add-on icons show up, except Ghostery.
I installed these extensions from a clean install of FF 5 and they were all on the Available page and have release dates within the past few months. Are they not compatible with FF 5?
    The extensions are:
    Morning Coffee 1.35
    Print Edit 5.2
    Scrapbook Plus 1.8.20.34
    Whois 2.2

As far as Print Edit goes, I see a "Print Edit" button in the Customize Palette, but I never use it. Right-click the web page and use Print > Print Preview or Print Edit or from the orange Firefox button Print > ....
Sorry, I have never used the other three extensions, so I can't comment beyond saying the developers of all these extensions should be providing better usage instructions for their users.

  • Toolbar customization and extensions vanishing

I am using OS 10.8 and safari 6. I leave safari running all the time. When I came back to the Mac after a break all my toolbar customizations and all my extensions are gone. I checked the folder home- library-safari-extensions and all the extensions are there. So I re-added all the extensions from the safari preferences and they came back. I go away and come back an hour later and they are all gone again.
Any idea how I can fix this problem?

Try troubleshooting the Safari .plist ...   (preferences)
Quit Safari. Now open the Finder.
From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
Click Go then move the   com.apple.Safari.plist  file to the Desktop.
Relaunch Safari to test. If that heped, move the .plist file to the Trash. If not, move it back to the Preferences folder.

  • When I select Toolbar-Customize and the options box opens, the Navigation Bar icons disappear.

Two questions: 1) When I select Toolbar, then Customize, the box with the toolbar options opens, but my Navigation bar icons disappear, so I can't add the spaces, bars, etc. to it. How do I fix that? 2) I can reposition the icons in the Navigation bar without being in Customize, with the exception of the Search Address box. How do I reposition the Search Address box? Thanks.

Opening in the Sidebar is the default action for bookmarks that are created via a "Bookmark this Page" link or button on a website. Make sure you use the many "Bookmark this Page" methods that are in Firefox instead.
Right-click those bookmarks and select '''Properties''', then un-check the preference for '''Load this bookmark in the sidebar''', and then click Save.

  • WebVPN Floating Toolbar Customization

I would like to know if it is possible to remove only the "Go to address" icon from the floating toolbar.
This question was asked in the following discussion, but the only answer that was provided was to disable the toolbar entirely.
I tested the solution and it succeeded in removing the toolbar, but the issue is that users now have no way of cleanly ending the VPN session.  We have the Clientless SSL VPN set up to drop users to a company intranet site and do not want them to be able to browse to other sites.  We also want them to be able to end the VPN session cleanly so that the license can be freed up as quickly as possible without having to wait for the session to time out.
Is there a way to customize the floating toolbar so that it only displays the "Move to other side", "Home page", and "Logout" buttons and not the "Go to address" button?
    Thank you.

No, unfortunately you can't just disable/hide the "Go to address" toolbar. Only the whole toolbar can either be enabled or disabled.

  • Few questions on Flex customization

    Hi,
I've just started to customize a LiveCycle instalation for the first time. I'm using Flash Builder, and Flex 3.4.1. - LCES2 as SDK.
    I have a few questions:
    1) The process of building (with Ant) is painfully slow. It lasts over a minute (1:03) to build and publish the ".ear" file (the CPU is Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q 6600 @ 2.40GHz).
Does in have to be like that or am I doing something wrong here? Do I have to use "Cray" os something?
    2) As I see, the Workspace version we are using is built from the 'old' Halo components, and not Spark components.
Is it because we have an old LC version? Can it be updated to a Flex 4 version? Can it work with the same server-side? Does a newer version exist?
    3) What we NEED to use (bottom line) is TLF (Flex Layout Framework). It depends on Flash Player 10. Can it be done with Flex 3.4.1.-LCES2?

One minute is about right. This is because ANT is packaging the compiled source into an WAR and EAR file. If you just want to work with the code and not deploy it, you can switch back and use the "Flex" builder. You will see some unresolved SWCs. Just resolve each error by point to the SWC file that is created undre the export folder for each of the api and foundation projects.  If you need more details, let me know.

No. You must use 3.4.1 from the LiveCycle ES2 DVD or the FLex SDK from the Workbench ES2 folder. 3.4.1 is the only version that has been tested and certificated with the release.
    3) What we NEED to use (bottom line) is TLF (Flex Layout Framework). It depends on Flash Player 10. Can it be done with Flex 3.4.1.-LCES2?
Sorry, I'm not familiar with that but I can run Workspace using the latest version of Flash Player 10.2.  But if the TLF was introdced post Flex 3.4.1, then it probably won't work. Try checking the Flex forums for that answer. Again, apologies, I don't have an answer for this.
    Hope that helps!

  • Sync does not transfer menu and toolbar customization to newly-installed copies of Firefox.

Sync's been working pretty well for me...except for, well, syncing most of the GUI. Every single time I reinstall Firefox - which is very frequently, sometimes - I have to click 'Customize', remove *every single icon* from the menu, display the bookmarks toolbar, drag the bookmarks toolbar items to where I always keep them. I have to close the bookmarks toolbar again, and then move all of the icons and the home button from the navigation bar to where I keep all of those. Then I have to remove the search bar from the navigation bar, because I never leave the search bar there.
This happens *every single time* I reinstall Firefox.
It is a lot of work, it is tedious, and I've done it at least four times this week alone. This really shouldn't be happening. I never had to deal with this kind of thing when using Chrome - their sync function works exactly as you'd expect it to.
I prefer Firefox for a few reasons, but if this isn't resolved, I might have to switch back. A sync function that only syncs half of what it should is not a useful sync function at all. I should be able to log in, wait a minute or two for it to download my data, and then I should be presented with the browser set up exactly as I left it.
I should not be presented with a horrendous mixture of my settings and the defaults that bleeds over into my other computers. Oh, did I not mention that part? Many times, when I log into my sync account on a new installation, the default bookmarks that get shoved in with the rest of my bookmarks GET SYNCED TO MY ACCOUNT AND TRANSFERRED TO MY OTHER COMPUTERS.
I'm then forced to delete all of them a few *more* times.
Please tell me there's a solution to this.
edit: Also, search settings are never transferred. That's another thing I'd like to be able to stop having to change every time.

In order to change your Firefox Configuration please do the following steps :
    # In the [[Location bar autocomplete|Location bar]], type '''about:config''' and press '''Enter'''. The about:config "''This might void your warranty!''" warning page may appear.
    # Click '''I'll be careful, I promise!''' to continue to the about:config page.
    # Please add: services.sync.prefs.sync.browser.uiCustomization.state and make it a boolean and mark it as true.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro - Toolbar Customization Disappearing

    Hello all,
I am having a very annoying problem with Acrobat 9 Professional. Whenever I customize any of my toolbars, as soon as I quit and restart Acrobat all toolbars revert to their default configuration. The toolbars I want on stay on, and they stay in the locations I want, but buttons I want on turn off and vice-versa. I have gone through all of the Preferences screens and looked through the registry but have found nothing that would govern this behavior. Anybody here know how to fix it so that my "custom" toolbars stay customized?

Same problem on a clients machine.  Did you ever find a solution?  I'm wondering if it has anything to do with sandboxing or administrative privlages...

  • My bookmarks toolbar no longer shows up. View ⟶ Toolbars ⟶ Bookmarks Toolbar doesn't work. Also View ⟶ Toolbars ⟶ Customize doesn't bring up a dialogue box.

I can only see the contents of my bookmarks toolbar via History ⟶ Show All History. And I can't customize the toolbars because I can't bring up the dialogue box.
I'm also having trouble with the sidebar:
Two things I can't get to show in the sidebar are Bookmarks and History (View ⟶ Sidebar ⟶ Bookmarks and View ⟶ Sidebar ⟶ History). The shortcuts don't work either.
Two things I can get to show in the sidebar ScrapBook and Pocket, however, I can't close the sidebar via the top right cross, but have to go via the menu: View ⟶ Sidebar ⟶ Pocket / ScrapBook.

  • What is the item"140" in toolbar customize window??

in the customize toolbar window is the number 140...what is this for and what does it do??

If you use the same profile folder with different Firefox versions then you should create a new profile exclusively for the 4.0 beta version and create a desktop shortcut with -P "profile" appended to the target to launch that profile.

  • Adobe Reader X - moving toolbars (toolbar customization)

In Reader 9, I can customerize the position of the toolbars.
Anyone know how to do this in Reader X?

It appears that customization of the toolbars is excruciatingly limited with X.
I know it won't do any good to vent here, but I think you would agree that Adobe needs to restore the previously customized toolbars!!  Trust me, I have voiced my concerns in the appropriate location, but I hope others will do likewise.
I was completely shocked to update to reader X and go back 15 years in toolbar design.
Toolbars should not be static.  Menus..maybe...Toolbars...no way!
    Toolbars should be customizable.
Sections of toolbars should be able to float together.
Users should not have to use a drop down menu because the tool they want to use is too far to the right to fit onto their single line toolbar.  At least give us the ability to prioritize which icons show up first if we are force to only have one line for a toolbar.
Users should be able to set up a whole toolbar in one pass, and not have to click "View > Show/Hide > Toolbars > Feature" for each feature they wish to add or delete from the toolbar.
"Take Snapshot" is by far one of the most useful tools Reader has, but it got relegated to priority #99?..and thus has to be accessed via drop down if I want other operations on the toolbar as well?
That goes for Rotate - I'm in design & construction.  Half the time non-computer literate office staffer who prints to PDF prints them upside-down or sideways.  Lucky for me Rotate functions get priority #s 94 & 95, and thus are likewise relegated to the drop down.
Why do "Comment" and "Share" take up so much real-estate?  I have limited need for these options on the toolbar!
Also, we should not have to rebuild our toolbars with every single released version of software.
What a terrible feature (lack of feature) in this release.  Adobe should X Adobe Reader X.

  • In Firefox 4 toolbar customizations disappear upon closing and then reopening Firefox.

I click on ',''''''''CUSTOMIZ''''''E''' I drag the icons from the '''box''' onto the the '''toolbar''', I move the ''''''icon'''s''' around and drag ''''''space holder'''s''' onto the toolbar, putting some of them on an '''additional toolbar''' that I add, so that everything is arranged the way I want it; I click DONE, everything looks great, but the '''next time I open Firefox''' everything has returned to to the '''default layout'''.

Anyone comfortable enough should go to [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox Standard diagnostics - Firefox] in the Mozillazine Knowledge Base, follow the instructions there and see if an add-on (extension or theme) may be causing the resetting of your customizations.

  • Pages 5.2 Toolbar Customization

Hi. I have Pages version 5.2 and want to add "Bullets & Lists" to my toolbar. However, when I try to customize my toolbar, that's not an option. Any ideas? Thanks.

Then you will have to do what others do and use the Bullet & Lists area in the Format > Text panel.
Or, revert to Pages ’09 and View > Customize Toolbar… and drag/drop the List item to your Toolbar.
