Question to Guided Procedures

Hello,
in our company I'm evaluating WFM-Tools.
I have two questions about Guided Procedures:
(1) Is it possible to delete entities of a running process in the CAF Guided Procedures? To stop a process is no problem, but I didn't solve to delete them completely.
(2)Is it possible to escalate dates in a process?
I would be very glad, when someone give me some links, informations, documents e.g. for implementing Composite Applications and Guided Procedures.
Thanks a lot
Steve Mussdorf

Hi Steve,
In addition to the link that Srini gave, you can check the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/39/198141f906040de10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">GP documentation</a>.
To your questions - the functionality to delete process instances is not yet available but will come soon.
Changing the process due date is possible using the so-called process control items. See the following <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/42/cec68872c56baee10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm">docu</a>.

  • Guided Procedure SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.0 vs. Guided Procedure Portal 7.1

    Hello experts,
I have a general question regarding Guided Procedures implemented in different Portal-Versions.
What is the the main advantage of GP's implemented in 7.1 Portal?
    What are the main improvements????
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi,
Those are the enhancements for CE 7.1 SP03 version.
CE 7.1 SP06 is the latest one. But SP04, SP05 and SP06 provide only corrections to the SP03.

  • How to use WebDynpro Applications in Guided Procedure?

    Hello,
i want to use a WebDynpro    application as a part of a guided procedure. Therefor i developed a simple WebDynpro    application as described in the NetWeaver    Developer Studio Help. The Application consists of only two views. The first view is to enter data, the second displays them. So far so good....
In the next step i wanted to integrate this application as a CallableObject for execution in my guided procedures process. The wizard asks in step 2 for the "Development component" and WebDynpro    Application. But where do it get this information? Indifferently what path i enter, it only returns an error the the object is not available on the server.
EDIT: The path to the webdynpro application is something like this: http://host:port/webdynpro/dispatcher/local/WebDynproUITest/UITest
    kind regards,
    Matthias

    Hello Dipankar,
thx for the blog! This really helped a lot!
The problem is, that you cant test the WebDynpro as a stand-alone application. What would be the best way to develop a WebDynpro Application for GP?
Is there a way to start with a 'normal' WebDynpro Application and convert this when finished in a "guided procedure ready WebDynpro for CE Application"?
I think i will contact you next week with more questions, for now on its weekend

  • Callable object and Guided procedures

    Hi all,
Where we use callable objects? i want to know about the basic of callable object and guided procedure?
sorry if my question is very silly

    Hi again
Callable objects can be many types, including applications (like web dynpro), services (e.g. web services), remote function modules, intercative and composite forms, etc.
The GP framework comes with a set of ready-to-use COs that you can see when you open the Create Callable Object wizard. Here is a list of the so-called predefined COs in GP:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/0f/619fd378a641b29386063019c24fc4/content.htm
Since applications and services themselves are of various types, here is a link for creating COs of those types in GP design time:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/da/a680415dc6050de10000000a1550b0/content.htm
You can also implement your own callable object type, but here you have to use the NW Developer Studio, apart from the GP worksets. Here is a link to give an overview:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/43/e74cb156b60a29e10000000a11466f/content.htm
Finally, here is a document that gives general info about exposing applications as COs and links to various areas, connected to CO implementation and usage in GP:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/08/d88041a17e060de10000000a1550b0/content.htm
    Hope that is helpful
Greetings and good luck with the reading

  • Scenarios when Guided procedures are mandated/preferred to be used

    Hi Everyone
Seeking information on when Guided procedures can be part of the SAP Landscape. It would be helpful to cite some examples or may be some scenarios where GP could fit.
Note : Existing environment involves SAP Netwevaer MDM 5.5 SP06 ,EnterprisePortal,Webdynpro Java using MDM 5.5 SP06 Java API and question which came to my mind is where would GP fit if an external process needs to be part of the current process and how would it achieve better process control w.r.t MDM Workflows vs UWL.

    Hi,
A Composite Application consists of mainly following layers:
    1. Back end and Business Layer
    2. UI Layer
    3. Process Layer
    4. Portal Layer.
    GP is for Process layer.
You can get information for each layer in [this|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/20f7c4ef-b73d-2a10-a2b9-d9833908130c] document.

  • Guided Procedures - Integration of Webdynpro Java with Adobe Interactive fo

    Hi All,
We have created Webdynpro java application with Adobe interactive forms. It works fine in NWDS and also in Webdynpro Content Administrator.
When we have called this component in Guided Procedures (callable object - Webdynpro (GP Interface)), the form screen has not displayed.
    Plz help us..

    Hi,
Scenario : User have to log into GP runtime, When he clicks the first action it should display the adobe form. He has to fill the details and submit the form. This form is routed for Approver 1 for review. The first approver will log into portal, view it (UWL),approve it and sent for second approver. The same process happens with the second approver. After both approvals, a BAPI updates the data in the interactive form in R/3
All the process have to be done in Guided Procedures, then integrated with Portal at the end.
We have tried creating an Wdynpro Java app with online adobe form and executed successfuly in NWDS and also in Webdynpro content administrator.
    issue:-
When we create a callable object(webdynpro app(gp interface CO)) in GP and test, we were unable to view the form.
Now our question is : what are we mising ?
Is it possible to integrate online interactive adobe form with guided procedures?
Is our approach to solve the scenario right?
any links or tutorials will be greatly appreciated

  • Guided procedures & WebDynpro (SAP-EU software component)

    Hi,
I'm trying to develop a Webdynpro component that is going to be used in Guided Procedure (CAF) in 2004s SPS08.
This snippet is in the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/de/8976417f2d5558e10000000a1550b0/content.htm">tutorial</a>:
The software component SAP-EU must be imported in your development configuration. In particular, you need the following development components (DCs):
    - caf/eu/gp/api
    - caf/eu/gp/api/wd
In addition, you need the following DC from the software component SAP-JEE_1:
    - com.sap.security.api.sda
I do know how to use DC's but where do I get this component SAP-EU from ? I could not find these caf/eu/gp/api etc. components in anywhere in the DC's I have on the local development.

  • API for access of guided procedure from ABAP / WebDyn: change/read status

    Hallo together,
I'm very new to guided procedure and have some questions about possible interaction between WebDynpro ABAP and Portal guided procedures (UWL ?)
is it possible to access a guided procedure or their attributes from WebDynpro ABAP? What are the relevant key attributes (ID's) to do so?
Is is possible to change the status of a guided procedures f.e. from "completed" to "ready" from outside, let say WebDynpro ABAP? for the purpose of a monitor for mgrs.
    - possible szenario is a manager says: "no, not well done" go back to start and do it again !
    - another szenario: guided procedure is "running" and should be set to "completed"
    Any hint will be helpfull
    Thanx very much in advance
    regards Hans

    Hi Hans,
There is a good and a bad news regarding APIs for GP and ABAP Web Dynpro and GP:
The good news is that you can find [here|http://help.sap.com/javadocs/nwce/current/gp/index.html] the APIs for GP.
The bad news is that the cooperation capabilities between GP and ABAP Web Dynpro are restricted in a certain way. One can use a ABAP Web Dynpro in GP as callable object, but GP is only capable to transport parameter values from GP to the UI but not vice versa. In many cases one needs a solution where the ABAP Web Dynpro UI accepts user inputs and forwards them to the GP context. This is not supported.

  • Data passing problem with Adobe Form & Guided Procedure

    Hello all,
I am trying to create a Guided Procedure to implement an offline Adobe Interactive form. This form is based on the standard Requisition Request form used in MSS for e-Recruiting.
I've copied the standard form and updated the layout to ZCI using the appropriate transaction (not manually). After that, I've changed the Interface and layout. But to get the Form in the portal you need to have a .xpd file. Therefore, I've tested the form in preview mode, saved a copy as a PDF file and opened this copy in the standalone Adobe Lifecycler Designer. In the standalone version you are able to save the form as a PDF (not possible using transaction SFP).
My question 1 is if this is a wrong approach and there is a better way to retrieve the xpd file.
Next to that, I wrote a RFC function to retrieve data in the backend. This function is working and now I try to pass the data to the Form in the GP (using prefilling). The data is never passed, any points that I need to check there. The data used to export is a structure that contains a number of table types, because Adobe has issues with importing tables it seems. The form is working correctly in the backend.
Points will be rewarded for helpfull awnsers!
Kind regards & thanks in advance...

    Hi Eduard Vilar,
Go to sfp transaction, open the respective form, enter the transaction 'fb_xdp_down' to import the xdp layout and 'fb_xdp_up' to upload.
Hope this will hwlp. (i beleive you meant xdp rather than xpd )

  • Mail settings for Guided Procedures

    Hi,
I'm having problems having GP send mails.
The settings in the GP Administration are correct. I can send test mails to myself without problems, and did the setup that is described here: [Re: Guided Procedures - set mail smtp host]
Also, I'm sure that my user has an e-Mailaddress and the like, I've set it up properly on R3. Also, when trying to send a mail to a static address (just give it as a value) it still generates problems.
Now when I go to the log, I get these errors, which are odd, considering mail.sap.org is NOT the SMTP server I set up!!
    Unknown SMTP host: mail.sap.corp
    javax.mail.MessagingException: Unknown SMTP host: mail.sap.corp;
      nested exception is:
    java.net.UnknownHostException: mail.sap.corp
The question is fairly simple: Where does it say that the SMTP server is that? It's certainly not in Administration > Administer BMF > Clients as it's set correctly there!
Help would be, as always, greatly appreciated!

    Hi,
So, to start the Config Tool, double click the configtool script file from <SAP_install_dir>/<system_name>/<instance_name>/j2ee/configtool directory.
    When you open it, navigate to cluster-data -> template – <name of template> -> instance – <name of instance>  -> services  -> caf/eu/gp/model.
The template represents the usage type installed on your server (for example, EP). It consists of one or more instances that can be configured in a different way.
Next, modify the required system parameters (in your case smtp.server and smtp.service_user_mail) :
    a. On the Service properties screen, select a parameter from the table.
    b. In the Custom value field, enter a value for the parameter.
    c. Choose Set.
The new value appears in the Value column.
In the Template value field, you can see the default value (if any) for the parameter you have selected. You can restore the default template value for any parameter by choosing Restore to Template.
So here is the documentation regarding the Config tool as a whole:

    Dear Guru,
I am researching on concept of Guided Procedure and Process Integration.  However, I have few questions about those.  What is Guided Procedures?  What is/are the differences with Process Integration (PI)?  In which scenario, PI and GP can be applied for?  Thank you very much. • Start Guided Procedures from WebFlow

    Hi again!
Now we maybe found a way to start a Guided Procedures Process from SAP WebFlow. But then we encountered another problem.
To transfer parameters from SAP WebFlow via container-elements to the GP the SAP WebFlow parameters have to be equal with the technical parameters of Guided Procedures.
The problem is that Guided Procedures assigns the technical parameters automatically and adds a point and the number of the parameter.
The idea behind should be to differ parameters with the same name.
    For example:
    AUFNR = AUFNR.1
another parameter with the same name gets the technical name
    AUFNR = AUFNR.2
But SAP WebFlow, especially ABAP, interprets a point as the end of a statement.
So you can not use elements in your container with a point (AUFNR.1)
    My question.
Is it possible to affect the automatic allocation of a technical name of a parameter in Guided Procedures to avoid the point in that parameter?
I hope that there is someone who can help me.
It would be absurd if the parameter passing would fail solely because the technical names of GP-parameters contain a point.
Thanks for answers of every description

  • Configuration of Guided Procedures for Adobe Forms

    Hi all,
we are about testing the Guided Procedures with Adobe Forms.
I found 3 documents here in SDN:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b9ea34c2-0701-0010-e2a2-d8e9cd6d85dc

My problem now is the configuration and the understanding of the "Web Service Security" in the Visual Administrator.
In the mentioned guides above it is written to choose "SLD" for the URL and the following three values under "Synchronize with System Landscape":
    System Name:
    WS Name:  {com.adobe/AdobeDocumentServices}{AdobeDocumentServicesAssembly.jar}
    WS Port:  {com.adobe/AdobeDocumentServices}{AdobeDocumentServicesAssembly.jar}ConfigPort_Document
    Now my questions:
    1. According to the guides it seems that the ADS must be installed on the same J2EE where the central SLD is running. Is that a must? I don´t hope so!
    2. What do I have to take for ? The SID and machine of the SLD or of the J2EE where the ADS is installed (this would be my own Portal)?
    3. My portal is of version Netweaver2004s SP10, my SLD ist of version 6.40 SP18.
Could this be a problem here?

  • Use of Aris models for Guided Procedures or VC possible

    Hi,
I know that Aris can export BPEL for importing to XI.
What are the capabilities of using Aris for NetWeaver to model for more UI-oriented processes.  Is it possible to use ARIS models for GP or Visual Composer?
    Thanks.
    Dick

    Hi David,
The answer to your 1st question is NO. Till NW 7.1, there is no clue on this.
To your 2nd question, there is no noticable enhancement on the GP side in NW 7.1. You can refer to the Developers Guide -> Developing and Composing Applications -> Designing Composite Processes with Guided Procedures section in  <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/44/D958673EF05F4DE10000000A11466F/frameset.htm">SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment Library</a> for further reference.

Finally I fully agree with you regarding XI and GP.
