Question with PL - SQL Query.

I have following table named ProductStatus with values.....
ID.....Number.....Status.....Date
1.....     08-0001.....     New.....     04/01/2008 05:04:00:000
2.....     08-0001..... New.....     04/01/2008 08:06:00:000
3.....     08-0001.....     New.....     04/01/2008 09:01:00:000
4.....     08-0001.....     Open..... 04/01/2008 10:12:00:000
5.....     08-0001.....     Closed... 04/05/2008 10:12:00:000
6.....     08-0002.....     New.....     04/02/2008 10:12:00:000
What i want is....
All the Rows(*) Where
1). Date < 02-APR-08 ( 04/02/2008 )
2). if there is similar Number then it should get only last status of that number (Means based on date it should get last status only)
Please Help me...
Thanks...

Sorry ...my Mistake here with column types...
Here it is corrected....
-- Create Table
CREATE TABLE ProductStatus
ID NUMBER(4,0),
Num VARCHAR2(20),
Status VARCHAR2(20),
StatusDate TIMESTAMP
-- Add Test Data
insert into ProductStatus(ID,Num,Status,StatusDate) Values (1,'08-0001','New',timestamp'2008-04-01 09:00:00.123456789');
insert into ProductStatus(ID,Num,Status,StatusDate) Values (2,'08-0001','New',timestamp'2008-04-01 05:04:00.123456789');
insert into ProductStatus(ID,Num,Status,StatusDate) Values (3,'08-0001','New',timestamp'2008-04-01 08:06:00.123456789');
insert into ProductStatus(ID,Num,Status,StatusDate) Values (4,'08-0001','Open',timestamp'2008-04-01 10:10:00.123456789');
insert into ProductStatus(ID,Num,Status,StatusDate) Values (5,'08-0002','New',timestamp'2008-04-05 10:12:00.123456789');
insert into ProductStatus(ID,Num,Status,StatusDate) Values (6,'08-0003','New',timestamp'2008-04-02 11:22:00.123456789');
Select All the Rows(*) Where
1). StatusDate < 02-APR-08 ( 04/02/2008 )
Select * from ProductStatus where StatusDate < to_date('02-Apr-08');
2). if there is similar Num then it should get only last status of that Num (Means based on date it should get last status only)
Confused with this..how to implement !!!!
Thanks,

  • Consolidating multiple rows in 1 row, question with my SQL query

    Hi, quick question.. I have a table with the following structure and data:
    Table TEST
    Usr id | Start Time | End Time | Dep_id |
    123 | 8:00 | 10:00 | 1
    123 | 10:00 | 12:00 | 1
    548 | 12:00 | 14:00 | 2
    549 | 10:00 | 12:00 | 3
    549 |8:00 | 10:00 | 3
    550 | 12:00 | 14:00 | 3
    I need to consolidate start time and end time,
    where the dep_id is the same,
    and the usr Id is the same,
    and start time = end Time.
    The result will be something like:
    Usr id | Start Time | End Time | Dep_id |
    123 | 8:00 | 12:00 | 1
    548 | 12:00 | 14:00 | 2
    549 | 8:00 | 12:00 | 3
    550 | 12:00 | 14:00 | 3
    I'm doing something like:
    SELECT MIN(START_TIME) START_TIME,
    MAX(END_TIME) END_TIME,
    DEP_ID
    FROM TEST
    GROUP BY DEP_ID;
    This is consolidating, but I don't know how to add the conditions so it doesn't consolidate the last 3 rows in 1 (only 2 can be consolidated, the last row has a different usr_id)
    anyone has a suggestion/solution?
    thanks!

    This is not a full solution but may give you a way to complete
    You may spit it to two SELECT with UNION ALL (based on gap you have)
    WITH temp AS
         (SELECT '123' user_id, 8 start_t, 10 end_t, 1 dept
            FROM DUAL
          UNION ALL
          SELECT '123' user_id, 10 start_t, 12 end_t, 1 dept

          UNION ALL
          SELECT '548' user_id,  12 start_t, 14 end_t, 2 dept

          SELECT '549' user_id,  10 start_t, 12 end_t, 3 dept

    SELECT du, start_t, end_t, next_st_t - end_t gap FROM (

    OVER (PARTITION BY dept||user_id ORDER BY start_t) next_st_t from temp

  • Flash chart with dynamic sql query does not display

    Hi,
    In my schema SIVOA I have a lot of tables declared like this :
      CREATE TABLE "SIVOA"."EVV_xxxx"
       (     "CLEF_VAR" NUMBER(4,0),
         "DATE1" DATE,
         "VALEUR" NUMBER(16,8) Only the last part of the name changes "xxxx". For example E009, E019, etc....
    I am making a chart page with report and want the user to select a name of a table and I will display using dynamic sql query, the table report and chart.
    P184_ENAME is a select list returning the last part of the name of the table, fro example 'E009', 'E019', etc.
    P8_CLEF_VAR is an item containing a value. This value is a key retrieved like this :SELECT CLEF_VAR
    FROM SIVOA.SITE_ECHELLE
    WHERE SITE = :P184_ENAMEI built a classic report using a sql dynamic function :DECLARE
    x VARCHAR2 (4000);
    BEGIN
    x := 'SELECT NULL, DATE1, VALEUR FROM SIVOA.EVV_'
    || UPPER(:p184_ename)
    || ' WHERE CLEF_VAR = :p8_clef_var' ;
    RETURN (x);
    END;:p8_clef_var is an itme containing the value '4544'.
    This works perfectly fine !
    When I use this sql fucytion into a flash chart it does not work. I get this message "No data found".
    I do not understand why a the report get a result and not the chart !
    But if i hard-code the number of the CLEF_VAR instead of fetching it from :p8_clef_var I get a nice chart ! Go figure !DECLARE
    x VARCHAR2 (4000);
    BEGIN
    x := 'SELECT NULL, DATE1, VALEUR FROM SIVOA.EVV_'
    || UPPER(:p184_ename)
    || ' WHERE CLEF_VAR = 4544 ' ;
    RETURN (x);
    I cannot stay with the key (CLEF_VAR) hard-coded unformtunately !
    My question is how to get the chart displaying properly ??
    Thank you for your kind answers.

    Alex,
    Using your request, with the classic report I get results (data), but I get the same message with the Flash chart : "No data found" ! I don't know how to investigate this. i tried many things but nothing works.
    Christian
    PS I tried this :
    DECLARE
       X   VARCHAR2 (4000);
    BEGIN
    x := 'SELECT NULL, DATE1, ROUND(VALEUR,2) FROM SIVOA.EVV_'
          || UPPER (:p184_ename) ||
          ' WHERE CLEF_VAR = '
          || :p8_clef_var ||
          ' AND DATE1 BETWEEN TO_DATE ('''
    ||:P8_DATE_DEBUT||''', ''DD/MM/YYYY HH24:MI'') AND TO_DATE ('''
    ||:P8_DATE_FIN||''', ''DD/MM/YYYY HH24:MI'')'
    RETURN (X);
    END; But it does not work either. I could find that the SLQ syntax generated is good becaus I put it into an item which display the return done by the pls/sql.
    What is sttange also with the classic report is that if I do click on next or previous to see another rows, I get the message "No data found". If I try to export the report I get an excel file with "No data fouid".
    Does anybody already tried my "need" here ? i find strange thant I should not be the firs one trying to get a report an tables which name would be "dynamic".
    Tahnk you.

  • Help with T-SQL query

    I have 3 hierarchical tables. [Parent] ->[Child1]->[Child2]
    I have [Xref] table which stores the documents associated with these three tables. In the [Xref] table, the column “TypeID” defines to which table the document is associated with.
    Below is the table structure with some sample data.
    Question: Given parented I want to get all the documents associated with parent as well its children. My sql query uses Union and its working fine. But Is there any other simple way to re-write this query?
    (Note that this is just an example, the actual hierarchy is pretty long so my SQL is getting little messy and I want simplify it.)

    Can you child span multiple levels? If yes, best way would be to use CTE

    Thanks

    Which version of jstl are you using? == JSTL1.1
    However the other two questions remain unanswered.
    What server are you using? Version?
    How are you importing the tag library?
    You can find out the server info with this snippet of a JSP:
    Working with server: <%= application.getServerInfo() %><br>
    Servlet Specification: <%= application.getMajorVersion() %>.<%= application.getMinorVersion() %> <br>
    JSP version: <%= JspFactory.getDefaultFactory().getEngineInfo().getSpecificationVersion() %><br>

    Hi,
    I'm a new user on APEX with no real SQL knowledge and I'm trying to build a dashboard with charts into an existing APEX application. Based on another application, I have come up with the following SQL code:
    select null link

    , count (decode(PROJECT_STATUS,'1',PROJECT_ID))"Active"
    , count (decode(PROJECT_STATUS,'2',PROJECT_ID))"Complete"

    group by CATEGORY
    Order by COUNT(PROJECT_ID) DESC
    The code from the other app was:
    select null link
    , FUNCTIONAL_AREA label
    , count (decode(PROJECT_STATUS,'Active',PROJECT_ID))"Active"
    , count (decode(PROJECT_STATUS,'Complete',PROJECT_ID))"Complete"

    group by FUNCTIONAL_AREA
    Order by COUNT(PROJECT_ID) DESC
    I'm getting a "Failed to parse SQL query!" error when I try to run validation.
    Is this enough info for some assistance? Any help would really be appreciated.

    Order by COUNT(PROJECT_ID) DESCIs there a problem with the code above?
    It's curious that the WHERE clause includes "PROJECT_STATUS='6'", but there is no pivoted column for project_status='6', like there is for '1' through '5'. That's not necessarily a mistake, and it wouldn't raise an error in any case.
    Instead of
    where (PROJECT_STATUS='1' or PROJECT_STATUS='2' or PROJECT_STATUS='3' or PROJECT_STATUS='4' or PROJECT_STATUS='5' or PROJECT_STATUS='6')you could say
    where PROJECT_STATUS  IN ('1', '2', '3', '4', '5', '6')but that probably has nothing to do with your current problem.
    The code from the other app was:
    select null link
    , FUNCTIONAL_AREA label
    , count (decode(PROJECT_STATUS,'Active',PROJECT_ID))"Active"
    , count (decode(PROJECT_STATUS,'Complete',PROJECT_ID))"Complete"
    , count (decode(PROJECT_STATUS,'On Hold',PROJECT_ID)) "On Hold"
    , count (decode(PROJECT_STATUS,'Recurring',PROJECT_ID))"Recurring"
    , count (decode(PROJECT_STATUS,'Pipeline',PROJECT_ID))"Pipeline"
    , count (decode(PROJECT_STATUS,'Not Approved',PROJECT_ID))"Not Approved"
    from PM_V2
    where LOB='S2S' and (FUNCTIONAL_AREA='Accounts Payable' or FUNCTIONAL_AREA='Expense' or FUNCTIONAL_AREA='Procurement' or FUNCTIONAL_AREA='Fixed Assets')
    group by FUNCTIONAL_AREA
    Order by COUNT(PROJECT_ID) DESC
    I'm getting a "Failed to parse SQL query!" error when I try to run validation.Is that an Apex error message? Sorry, I don't know anything about Apex.
    If you can't get a more specific error message from Apex, then try debugging this statement in SQL*Plus. When you get it fixed, then you can copy it back into Apex.
    If this is a SQL problem, then you should be able to re-create the problem in pure SQL.
    If you can't re-create the problem in pure SQL, then it's probably an Apex problem, and belongs in the Apex forum, not here.
    I don't see anything obviously wrong with your code, but I can't tell if, for example, you spelled a column name wrong, or if something has the wrong data type
    Is this enough info for some assistance? Any help would really be appreciated.It wiould be better if you posted a completE script that people could run to re-create the problem, and to test their ideas.
    Whenever you have a problem, please post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) from all tables involved.
    Also post the results you want from that data, and an explanation of how you get those results from that data, with specific examples.
    Always say which version of Oracle (and any other software, such as Apex) you're using.

  • Newbie - need help with a SQL query for a bar chart

    Hi,
    I'm a new user on APEX with no real SQL knowledge and I'm trying to build a dashboard with charts into an existing APEX application. Based on another application, I have come up with the following SQL code:
    select null link

    where (PROJECT_STATUS='1' or PROJECT_STATUS='2' or PROJECT_STATUS='3' or PROJECT_STATUS='4' or PROJECT_STATUS='5' or PROJECT_STATUS='6')
    group by CATEGORY
    Order by COUNT(PROJECT_ID) DESC

    Hello,
    This is more of an SQL question, rather than specifically APEX-related. It's notable that you say: I'm a new user on APEX with no real SQL knowledgeWhich is fine (we all have to start somewhere, afterall) but it might be worth de-coupling the problem from APEX in the first instance. I'd also strongly recommend either taking a course, reading a book (e.g. http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=r5vbGgz7TFsC&printsec=frontcover&dq=Mastering+Oracle+SQL&hl=en#v=onepage&q=Mastering%20Oracle%20SQL&f=false) or looking for a basic SQL tutorial - it will save you a whole lot of heartache, I promise you. Search the oracle forums for the terms "Basic SQL Tutorial" and you should come up with a bunch of results.
    Given that you've copied your query template from another, I would suggest ensuring that the actual query works first of all. Try running it in either:
    * SQL Editor
    * SQL*Plus
    * an IDE like SQL Developer (available free from the OTN: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/sql-developer/downloads/index.html ) or TOAD or similar.
    You may find there are syntax errors associated with the query - it's difficult to tell without looking at your data model.
    select null link
    , CATEGORY label
    , count (decode(PROJECT_STATUS,'1',PROJECT_ID))"Active"
    , count (decode(PROJECT_STATUS,'2',PROJECT_ID))"Complete"
    , count (decode(PROJECT_STATUS,'3',PROJECT_ID))"On Hold"
    , count (decode(PROJECT_STATUS,'4',PROJECT_ID))"Pipeline"
    , count (decode(PROJECT_STATUS,'5',PROJECT_ID))"Pending Review"
    from GRAPO_PROHEADTRK
    where (PROJECT_STATUS='1' or PROJECT_STATUS='2' or PROJECT_STATUS='3' or PROJECT_STATUS='4' or PROJECT_STATUS='5' or PROJECT_STATUS='6')
    group by CATEGORYNote that your "order by" clause references a field called "PROJECT_ID", which exists in the old query but you've changed other similar references to "PROJECT_STATUS" - is it possible you've just missed this one? The perils of copy-paste coding I'm afraid...

  • Fetch join with Native SQL Query?

    Hello all,
    I am using the J2EE 5.0 persistence api with the SUN appserver v9. As the java persistence api does not yet support spatial queries ("... where contains(polygon, point)") I have to use native SQL queries for that purpose.
    Now my question is how can I "join fetch" my ManyToOne-related entities when using a native SQL query? Is this somehow possible using the SqlResultSetMapping annotation?

    Never mind - the problem was to do with not specifying a class when creating the native query.

  • Mapping Problem with Native SQL query

    My application uses a native SQL query to locate certain entities. It looks like this:
    SELECT UPLOADATTEMPTREF, STUDENTNUMBER, USERID, WORKITEMCODE, WORKITEMINSTURN, WORKITEMTITLE, MODULERUNCODE, STUDENTNAME, SUBMISSIONDEADLINE, UPLOADATTEMPTSERVERDATE, FILENAME, UPLOADCOMPLETESERVERDATE, NEWFILENAME, FILESIZE, FILEPATH, DOWNLOADSERVERDATE, MODULECODE, MODULETITLE
    FROM Submission_Attempt WHERE UPLOADATTEMPTREF IN (
    SELECT uploadAttemptRef FROM (" +<br /><br />                         "SELECT MAX(uploadAttemptRef) AS uploadAttemptRef, UserID, workItemInstUrn, " +<br /><br />                         "workItemCode FROM Submission_Attempt where workiteminsturn = ?1 " +<br /><br />                         "GROUP BY UserID, workItemInstUrn, workItemCode) Table1 ) " +<br /><br />                         "and uploadCompleteServerDate is not null;"<br />
    My expectation was that EclipseLink would be able to handle the mapping of the results to the entity quite happily. However, I get a NonSynchronizedVector of Objects - each Object representing one field of data.
    I need help with either:
    Converting the above SQL into JPQL so that I (hopefully) don't have to worry about the SQL or
    Understanding why this isn't working properly...
    Anyone able to help?

  • Problem with a SQL query involving dates

    I have a database with each task made by a developer in the company's systems, with 2 fields to determine the duration of the tasks: begin_date and end_date, both Dates. Now I have to make an SQL query returning the total of hours each one worked counting every task, so I'm using something like this (simplifying):
    select user_id, sum(end_date - begin_date)
    from task
    group by user_id
    but I get a weird fractional number. How do I do this query?

    What database are you using? Oracle?
    The weird fractional number is probably the difference between the dates in days. If you want it in hours, try multiplying it with 24.
    select user_id, sum(end_date - begin_date) * 24
    from task
    group by user_id

  • SSRS - Stored procedure with Dynamic SQL Query

    Am calling stored procedure in SSRS report.  I have used Dynamic SQL query in stored procedure as I don't know the column name and column count.  And I have used like below at end of the stored procedure "select * from ##temptable".
    As I have used dynamic column, am not able to create report with this stored procedure.  Can someone help me out to resolve this issue.
    It will be highly appreciated if I get help.
    Thanks

    I have tried everything.  But nothing has worked out.
    If I get solution for below issue, it would be highly appreciated.
    "An error occurred during local report processing.
    The definition of the repport 'Main Report' is invalid.
    The report defintion is not valid.  Details: The report definition has an invalid target namespace 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2010/01/reportdefinition' which cannot be upgraded.
    Thanks
    Hello,
    I would suggest you post the complete error message to us for further investigation, if you preview the report before you deploy you may get a more detailed error that will help diagnose the source of the problem.
    This issue is more related to SQL Server Reporting Services, it's more appropriate to discuss it in the forum below:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/home?forum=sqlreportingservices
    Don't forget to elaborate your issue with more detail.
    For the manual column, it might be the calculated field in SSRS. Here is the article for your reference, please see:

  • Incorrectly read attributes with custom SQL query

    Hi folks,
    I'm trying to read in a random sampling of records from a table, so I tried:
    ReadAllQuery q = new ReadAllQuery();
    q.setReferenceClass(Foo.class);
    q.addPartialAttribute("bar");
    q.setSQLString("select * from Foo sample(10)");
    q.useCursoredStream(100,100, new ValueReadQuery("select count(*) from Foo sample(10)"));
    This all worked fine, the Foos were retrieved, but after the first dozen or so, all the "bar" attributes were null, which they should not be. This only occurs when using a custom SQL string. I tried bringing back all the objects (i.e., without using setSQLString) and examining them and all the "bar"s were present. But when I use setSQLString the attributes don't get read correctly.
    Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Is there a better way to do it?
    Thanks,
    Bryn

    Okay, here's the actual code:
    ReadAllQuery q = new ReadAllQuery();
    q.setReferenceClass(ActivityCenter.class);
    boolean useCustom = true;
    if (useCustom) {
    q.setSQLString("SELECT SetupDt, TerminationDt, ReinstateDt, IID, upDt, ID, " +
    "Stat, SubType, Acct FROM ACtr");
    q.useCursoredStream(100,100, new ValueReadQuery("select count(IID) from actr"));
    } else {
    q.useCursoredStream(100,100);
    session.logMessages();
    activityCenters = (CursoredStream) session.executeQuery(q);
    ActivityCenter ac = (ActivityCenter) activityCenters.read();
    if (ac.getAccount() == null) {
    System.err.println(ac.getID() + ": Oops!");
    } else {
    System.err.println(ac.getID() + ": Has account!");
    System.exit(0);
    So, everything about this program is the same - how the mapping is done, how things get initialized, everything. The only difference is whether I use a custom SQL query or not. Here's what it looks like when I run it both ways:
    First, custom:
    DatabaseSession(2433702)--Connection(393272)--SELECT SetupDt, TerminationDt, ReinstateDt, IID, upDt, ID, Stat, SubType, Acct FROM ACtr
    1.1: Oops!
    Now, without the custom SQL:
    DatabaseSession(393272)--Connection(7896086)--SELECT SetupDt, TerminationDt, ReinstateDt, IID, upDt, ID, Stat, SubType, Acct FROM ACtr
    DatabaseSession(393272)--Connection(7896086)--SELECT
    //bunch of fields from the Acct attribute...
    FROM Acct WHERE (IID= 'ffbe5c47f3ea762cfd50fbe9e6d6de6')
    1.1: Has account!
    Notice that the first query on Actr is identical in both cases. Also note there are no null Actr.acct fields in the database:
    SQL> select * from actr where actr.acct is null;
    no rows selected
    SQL>
    This is on Oracle 9i, with the thin jdbc driver.
    Also, I was curious that you asked if I was using partial attributes - when I try to add a partial attribute when using the custom SQL string, I get exceptions like this one:
    java.lang.ClassCastException: oracle.toplink.internal.queryframework.CallQueryMechanism
    at oracle.toplink.queryframework.ObjectLevelReadQuery.initializeDefaultBuilder(Unknown Source)
    at oracle.toplink.queryframework.ObjectLevelReadQuery.getExpressionBuilder(Unknown Source)

  • Please help me with this SQL query

    I am practicing SQL queries and have come across one involving fetching data from 3 different tables.
    The three tables are as below
    <pre>
    Country
    location_id          country
    loc1          Spain
    loc2          England
    loc3          Spain
    loc4          USA
    loc5          Italy
    loc6          USA
    loc7          USA
    </pre>
    <pre>
    User
    user_id location_id
    u1 loc1
    u2 loc1
    u3 loc2
    u4 loc2
    u5 loc1
    u6 loc3
    </pre>
    <pre>
    Post
    post_id user_id
    p1 u1
    p2 u1
    p3 u2
    p4 u3
    p5 u1
    p6 u2
    </pre>
    I am trying to write an SQL query - for each country of users, display the average number of posts
    I understand the logic behind this that we first need to group together all the locations and then the users belonging to one country and then find the average of their posts.
    But, i'm having a difficulty in putting this in SQL form. Could someone please help me with this query.
    Thanks.

    select
    country.country,
    count(*) Totalpostspercountry,
    count(distinct post.user_id) Totaldistincuserspercountry,
    count(*)/count(distinct post.user_id) Avgpostsperuserbycountry
    from
    country, muser, post
    where country.location_id = muser.location_id
    and muser.user_id = post.user_id
    group by country.country
    The output is like this for your sample data - hope this is what you were looking for :)
    COUNTRY,TOTALPOSTSPERCOUNTRY,TOTALDISTINCUSERSPERCOUNTRY,AVGPOSTSPERUSERBYCOUNTRY
    England,1,1,1,
    Spain,5,2,2.5,
