Questions on WS2012 Essentials integration into an existing domain

Hi,
I've successfully installed WS2012 Essentials RTM into an existing forest, and it's taken over the operations masters as expected. (This is my home domain, with two DCs -a ws2012 datacenter on a server and a 2008 VM - pre-existing.) There's some mysterious
behavior, though:
Domain users, though they show and work perfectly from the full-blown ADUC and ADAC AD management tools (which are available on the Essentials server), don't show up in the Dashboard to control access to Essentials services like shared folders and remote
web access.
Users created in the dashboard do show up in the domain. Is there some new attribute that must be set to enable my domain users to show up in the dashboard?
Computers, when attempting to enter the domain via the remote web access portal, are prompted to install the connector. Thinking this was like the WHS connector I started, but it wants to restart several times, input your new network user name and password,
etc. I'm loathe to go through the process in test and break a perfectly configured notebook. This is already a domain-joined computer that can access the Essentials server perfectly well over the network.
Apologies in advance if this is in documentation somewhere, but I suspect less has been written about the peculiarities of joining an Essentials server to a full domain than to an SBS domain.

Users created in Dashboard could be viewed via Dashboard and ADUC; Users created in ADUC could ONLY be viewd via ADUC. It's by design.
Only users created by Dashboard have rights to deal with remote access, I think you have already compared with the users in ADUC:
I have tried to add these groups for this specific AD user. However, the users will not display in the Dashboard. Also the user still has no rights to visit RWA.
I think it's related to the security. Even you have created an account in ADUC, the same account can't be created in Dashboard:
So I think towards the Windows Server 2012 Essentails user management, action in Dashboard will be the best practice.
It's really a good idea to show the AD users and add existed user to allow RWA. So you could submt your feed via the site below:

    I purchased the Classic Photo Gallery from Flash Development 24 because it was described as "easy to use."
    It is not easy to use.
    The steb by step guide for one, isn't even written in proper English.  I've tried to work with it an I've emailed support several times.
    I'm ready to give that up.
    I just want to make a simple gallery that I can integrate into an existing website.
    Can anyone suggest the easiest program to use?

    You can use Adobe Bridge (it is built into Dreamweaver) and Adobe Fireworks.  Once you have Dreamweaver open, go to File and you will see "Browse in Bridge".  Adobe Fireworks is a separate program and must be installed to make this work.  The instructions below are step by step and I was able to follow them even though I am not overly experienced in Dreamweaver.  I created these with Dreamweaver CS4 but the instructions below should work for CS5 as well.

    You may want to look at the galleries there first to see if they are what you are looking for. 
    There are two disadvantages to these galleries.  One is that to add or subract images requires creating a new gallery.  The good side is that this can be done fairly quickly once you become accustomed to how they are created.  I can do a new one now in a half hour or less.  To make it easier, you can go to split screen once you have the new gallery made and substitute the html for the new gallery in place of the old one without recreating your page parameters for the gallery.
    Secondly, the galleries created in Fireworks use flash technology so they will not work on Iphones or Ipads.  To correct this on my wife's website, I upgraded to CS5.5 in order to use HTML5.  I am going through the tutorials for creating HTML5 web pages now.  Once I have completed them, I will be re-doing my wife's site.  I haven't yet figured out how I will create and install the galleries yet.  I have posed a question about albums for HTML5 on this forum.  Using HTML5 appears to be more complex than what I have experienced in the past, but we will see.
    Hope this helps.  Don't get too frustrated when you go through the tutorials above.  Take your time and you will be able to figure it out.  If I could do it, so can you.  I am a 65 year old retiree who only began working with Dreamweaver about three years ago.  My work experience was not in the computer field although we bought our first computer, an Apple IIE, in 1980.

  • Mac Integration into Windows IT world.

    The company I work for is looking over it's IT policies and revamping for a possible tele-commute situation. I've been tasked with getting some information on how we could support mac users who may have to work from home on their personal machines.
    My first issue is VPN access. Our VPN is normally set up for users via a Windows executable that the end user runs. This .exe keeps us from having to give out the shared key publicly. The average windows user cannot get access to our shared key via this installer.
    VPN Stats:
    LPT2, MSCHAP 1 & 2 are being used
    User logs in via their network login and must have the shared key.
    Question 1: Is there a similar method to "automagically" set up a VPN for the average mac user so that they will not see the shared key? I was thinking this may be possible via applescript?
    My second issue is remote control of the end user's desktop. VNC is not an option, however all systems in the building are set up to allow remote desktop connections utilizing Windows Remote Desktop. Is there a way to gain authorized remote access of a Windows XP SP3 machine from a Mac without having to install +too much+ software?
    And Finally, How could we go about integrating said Mac's into our existing Active Directory set up and get them into the system if need be?

    and sometimes when i force shut the computer and it askes me to pick an option in the black screen it doesnt move..
    I know to get a wired keyboard but the problem is it used to work with this keyboard. Is there a driver or something that i need to install??

  • APEX application integration into Java application

    Hello,
    I'm working on a new APEX application and I would like to integrate that application into an existing Java application.
    The integration should be invisible for the end-users. Our application will have the same look and feel as the Java application.
    The existing menu of the Java app will be extended with a new link. This link will then call our application.
    Visually I was thinking about using an Iframe to display the content of the APEX application inside the Java generated xHTML.
    This is however not the biggest issue.
    We are working in a secure context and we thus need to make sure that our APEX application doesn't create a backdoor on the
    security mechanism provided by the Java app.
    Some options have come to mind, but the one that look best is this:
    We keep the java application as the single point of entry for our end-users and make sure that the apex application is "hidden".
    We could do this by means of some re-routing code in the java application so that the incomming requests there are send to the correct server (java or apex).
    Then we will need to capture the response of the APEX application and place it inside the Java generated xHTML. The combined content is then send to the client.
    Or we could place a reverse proxy server that does this for us.
    The goal is thus that we can rely on the existing java application to cover the security and the navigation structure.
    Any ideas on this ?
    How-to's or other options ?

  • Questions on SCOM -SCVMM integration

    Hi All,
    I have some questions on SCOM -SCVMM Integration. Please help me in answering them.
    1) Can multiple SCVMM servers be integrated with the same SCOM Management Server?
    2) Does uninstalling an older version of the SCOM Console on the SCVMM server require a reboot of the server?
    3) Does installing the SCOM Console on the SCVMM server require a reboot of the server?
    4) For what purpose is the SCOM Operations Console used on the SCVMM server; is it just required to install the binaries to connect with the Management Server?

    See for converting the EDI XML to EDI and XML-EDI you need to have a seeburger mapping program at the adapter module which does the conversion. For this module you need a BIC tool of seeburger which provides the different module program for EDI to XML and XML-EDI. This program needs to be deployed on XI and through adapter it has to be called for conversion.

    A few questions on whether Arabic text integration/import* is possible in UPK:
    1. Does UPK allow integration of text in languages that it does not provide translation support for, such as Arabic?
    2. How can Arabic text integration into the Show Me, Try Me, Test Me scripts be performed?
    a. Is this a manual process, where the text will need to be copied and pasted into individual callouts/text boxes?
    b. Is it automated in UPK? If yes, what are the steps to import a translated Show Me job aid in Arabic into the simulation?
    3. What additional character/font plug-ins would be required for this? If yes, where are these plug-ins available?
    4. Any specific formatting/publishing requirements to be kept in mind for getting the best possible player and job aid output in Arabic?

    1. Yes, UPK supports languages other than the 21 languages provided with the software. Arabic has not been tested with the current release of UPK.
    2. I'm not aware of any known issues with Arabic and bubble text.
    a. Since we've not done testing with Arabic, I do not know of any issues with typing directly in the bubble.
    b. I do not know of any reason why the localization tools in UPK would not work. (Template Editor, Export for Localization, Re-Record topic)
    3. Arabic has not been tested, so I cannot comment on font or character requirements or best practices.
    4. Same as previous.

    I'm going to say it all depends on what you are trying to do.
    If all you are talking about is bringing Captivate movies you have
    created into RoboHelp, this part does indeed seem to work. As long
    as you have no issues using Captivate otherwise, nothing should
    surface.
    On the other hand, if you are referring to the touted ability
    to launch Captivate from inside RoboHelp in order to create a
    recording, my experience has been that it doesn't work as well as
    I'd have hoped. Captivate does indeed launch and I am able to
    record and do things in Captivate, but the silly Publish button is
    disabled (many refer to it as "grayed out") so it does me
    absolutely no good if I cannot publish into Flash so as to bring
    back into RoboHelp.
    Sadly, the ability to Right-click and edit the .SWF using
    Captivate simply doesn't seem to work.
    Lastly, while the Captivate output does seem to allow itself
    to be added to a topic properly, if you are using a skin, for some
    reason the size changes to something much smaller than what you
    intended after inserting. So I'd suggest not using the Borders
    feature if you are planning this. This will result in a single .SWF
    output. Either that, or tweak the content as needed after adding
    it.
    Aside from that, things seem fine. Just keep the applications
    separated and use them individually. Then mix the output as
    desired.

    If you want to APPEND data( add data to an existing excel file) from SAP, then use GUI_DOWNLOAD fm with APPEND = 'X' paramter.

  • WebUI Integrated into Portal

    We have been able to successfully integrate the WebUI into the portal by exporting the business roles and importing into the EP. My question is, when doing this, do we completely lose the L shape navigation area and remain stuck with the old style tabs on top? That was a big selling point for 2007 but we needed to stay in the portal to handle the single sign on to our BI system which we cannot connect to from the WebUI natively. I have another thread on that topic.
    I just want to know if there is any way of keeping the slick navigation of the WebUI when it's integrated into the portal. Thanks in advance.

    OK I figured out that we can keep the left hand navigation via use of the detailed navigation option when exporting the XML from CRM2007 and importing into the portal. The next issue is that the direct links do not convert correctly. The section is there but there are no links underneath. There were no errors in the import either.
    Any ideas?

  • Newcomer to FM Integration into Robohelp

    Hello,
    Can anyone recommend a class/book/resource that provides workflow and best practices specifically for FM integration into RH?
    My company purchased TCS 2 last year and we have been successfully using most of the components. Now, I am tasked with finding a way of intrgrating our FM documents into Robohelp. I've done some work, but now I'm stuck.  I have taken a Robohelp class, purchased a couple of books, viewed online tutorials, and searched for answers all over. Unfotunately, the information i have found tends to be only task-specific and doesn't provide a complete set of instructions for performing this integration.
    For example:
    I have linked a FM project to Robohelp, performed some mappings, and compiled help. However, I'm having trouble figuring out how/when/where to create/modify mappings so that they apply to all my topics and so that they can be reused by other projects. My project has 10 chapters. Each chapter contains an introductory topic with a bulleted list of crossreference links to subsequent topics. I assigned the css file during compilation, but each of the introductory topics looks different (in some, the bullets are numbers, and in some the crosreferences are missing). This is just one example.

    This is just a possible heads up on the bit about saving the mapping. If the Frame <> RoboHelp linking works like the Word <> RoboHelp linking, it likely won't be possible to save the mapping items and re-use them for other Frame files. The same setup *APPEARS* to exist for Word, but each Word document is a different ball game and I understand that because of this, you have to create a new mapping file each time. I suspect Frame may work the same way.

    Lately I was buying a WD Myclouds DL4100. We installed everything andtried to put it into our active directory. We made sure we typedeverything in correctly and where it belongs to because the manual ofthis thing is..well...sh**.After that we tried to integrate it but it didn't work. We triedeverything to put it into our domain but it always said and this is freetranslated "Error while integrating into Domain".I couldn't find help on Google so you are basically my last hope.

        I have an existing stack which comprises of 6 switches, please help with the following questions :
    1/ adding another switch into this stack will cause all switches in stack to reboot ? anything that I should be aware of such as different versions ?

    Hi Duc,
    If you are stacking 3750 switches you can have a max of 9 switches in one stack. The only thing you have to make sure before adding the new switch is that its IOS version should be exactly same as the IOS version of rest of the stack.
    You dont have to worry about any reload of existing stack. Connect the stack cables to the new switch, power it up and it will be added to the existing stack.

  • Insert help into an existing adobe air app

    Is there a way to somehow stick the adobe air help into an existing adobe air application? Ideally, we would like to bundle the two apps together so that when they click help it opens the robohelp adobe air help app. Does anyone know of any way to do this without using any other third party source like merapi? Could we export the help into a swc or something like that?
