Questions regarding authentication used in SRDemo ADF Tutorial

Hello,
I am currently in the process of learning ADF with the help of SR Demo application from OTN.
I have a few questions regarding the authentication used in SRDemo ADF Tutorial.
1) Why do I need to specify the list of the all the users in the jazn-data.xml file with the name and credential attributes?
2) How I change the authentication mechanism to point to database tables.(If it's not using, correct me if I am wrong).
3) The prompt which I am getting for authentication is like OEM authentication. Can I change this to a normal authentication login page?
4) As an option I would like to pass the person who logged in to windows , should be able to log in to the application. How can I pass the username(which I have in a java string) to my application and get logged in?

I use Dreamweaver CS3. I tried to find information about this online, but I cannot seem to find anything at all. I was wondering if it is possible to use a completely differently designed template for a separate part of a website. From a marketing perspective, I understand that this concept may be impractical, because all websites should have consistently arranged information. However, the website I wish to change is not my own small business in any way. It is the website of the company that I work for, and it is a world-renown organization. Many university students access this website everyday. It was recently brought to my attention, that a proposed "brand-new" blogging section is going to be included in our website, and it was to have a different layout. We wish to use the same domain name, and simply change the style of the other part of the website.
I believe what one must do, is make sure that the .dwt (template) file points to a different CSS file, than the original one. Is this correct? The only reason that I have not tried this is because I am not sure what risks will be involved. It is also impossible to make a new page "from template", and then change the tinted uneditable text, so that it points to a different CSS file. Maybe you make a new CSS file and ensure it is in the same directory as the standard CSS file..? And when you click File-->New, you select the new template?

I think you already know the answer to this. You need to have two unique Templates and two external stylesheets. For this discussion let's call them Main.dwt and Main.css - for the main site sections. Sub.dwt and Sub.css for the subsite. You can copy and paste the code from one file into a new blank page, then make required changes to it and Save As "Sub..."
Link Main.dwt to Main.css. Link Sub.dwt to Sub.css.
To create a new page from Template, Click File > New > Templates Tab and select one.

Question regarding the use of Cisco Aironet 1140 series

We are looking at deploying some of the Cisco Aironet Access Points as standalone. We are essentially setting up a hotspot. They will mainly be in conference rooms at each of our field offices so visitors attending our meetings can have internet access. Do clients have to use Cisco wireless adapters in order to connect
to any of Cisco Aironet Access Points or can they use whatever wireless card they have as long as it supports the bands available?

Any product which displays the Wi-Fi Certified logo, including everything from Cisco, should interoperate with any other Wi-Fi Certified gear.

Question regarding the use of Built-in Bridge SIP call setup to recording device

We have an application that uses Built-in Bridge (BiB) to setup a SIP call to our recording application. Recently the topology of our network was changed and for some reason the RTP for the call is not being sent. What appears to be happenning is that the SIP messages are sent from the UCCM and once the call is established we get an end call event.
We are not sure how to troubleshoot our network to determine the root cause. Any pointers will be appreciated.

Did you ever figure this out? I am having an issue with recording calls to the PSTN from 9971 SIP phones. Station to station calls seem fine, and 7945 phones running SCCP seem fine to the PSTN.

to see the mapping details for service requests. In the middle of the page, set the values for the Use Sequencing area of
the page as follows:
Question. What am I supposed to be seeing when I double-click the ServiceRequests node???
I see the ServiceRequests.java code, with no possibility of selecting any
check box like it requires in the tutorial.
Step 2 above this step is as it is described in the tutorial, but step 3 has me stopped. Thanks in advance

Thanks Frank, that help got me past the stop. The tutorial, or my interpretation of the instructions has me stopped again. I got to the section (pp 2-12, 2-13) where I was creating named queries. I am getting warnings when I generate the mapping status report. One thing I have noticed is that the arguments it asked you to input are never as simple as it asks for. Example: svrId is not simply svrId it is serviceHistoriesCollection.svrId. Perhaps I can send you a screen snap I made somehow?

I will address your second question.
First, make sure your iPhone and iPad have absolutely identical Apple IDs. If they do, use that Apple ID in Settings > iCloud on your iPhone to select the "Notes" option. Lo and behold, all your iCloud notes should appear on your iPhone.

I have read all the questions regarding the "Can't send photo using iMessage". I followed everything and check everything that was in it. It's still the same. I am still not able to send a photo. It started happening last week. It was fine before that. There is no error message.
It will try to send but it will get stuck just before it sends
and the red ! will appear with the "Not Delivered" status.
When i tap on the !, it just says "This iMessage was not delived".
No other message or photo is sending as the same time as the photo.
I did reset it, I checked the email address, removed it as well. Turned it off then back on. Signed out and signed back in. Wi-Fi strength is very good. iOS is 6.0.1. I checked for updates, it is up-to-date I also checked a link http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2755. It did not help at all.

It is not a matter of reconsidering the decision. There are unsolveable technical problems with trying to run a program such as Firefox on Blackberry OS. We would need Blackberry to distribute a tool similar to Android's NDK to run on Blackberries.

I have the following question regarding Polling data from database using DB Adapters in BPEL -
If I am selecting data from multiple tables/view to ultimately generate hierarchical xml document, is there a way that I specify polling all of these tables/views. Is polling limited only to one table/view?

Hi Ravi,
your question seems to have been answered for the question of polling a set of tables with one as the root, and getting back a hierarchical xml representing multiple related tables.
However you can also poll for changes to both the root table and its related tables. Not sure if this was your question or the one already answered. If the former please check out the sample

Question on SRDemo ADF BC, why there is thrree application modules ?

Since the ADF Dev Guide for ADF BC has not come yet, I try to explore SRDemo ( ADF BC version ) to learn the best practice.
Could any body please tell me, why there is three apps modules in SRDemo ?
( SRAdminService, SRPublicService, SRServiceBase )
What is the criteria to detemine how many apps modules need to be created ?

In later versions of the demo (which will come out along with the ADF Developer's Guide for Forms/4GL developers) I've simplified that back down to a single AM again.
In the version that's on OTN now, the SRServiceBase was a parent component with some common code and a single common view object instance. The SRAdminService and the SRPublicService extended that base component to add things they needed.
I was trying to follow the structure of the EJB/Toplink version of the demo where there were separate "Admin" and public "User" services, but it ended up not really making too much sense to me after I thought about it more given how they were being used in the demo. The additional complexity introduced wasn't balanced by the extra value for this small sample application that new users are also supposed to use to learn the basics from, along with the developer's guide.

I got a question regarding running iOs and Windows using virtual software. I recently bought a monitor so I can display Windows on it and run both OS at the same time.Now,I'm using BootCamp. I downloaded VirtualBox for "tranferring" Windows on it. Since I'm a new iOs user , what do I need to do in order to make work?
Do I need to un-install Windows from BootCamp,install VirtualBox and then install them again?
Any information would be appreciate it!

That should work to use OS X, you can run MS Windows using Virtual Box and use a seperate display for the Virtual Box window. That way you can run OS X and MS Windows simultaneously. However remember Virtual Box is freeware and not a commercial application like Parallels or VMWare Fusion and may not have the features of a commercial application. Support for Windows run in any virtualization application (Virtual Box, Parallels or Fusion) is not generally done on this forum as they are not OS X related. To get help on those apps you usually will need to go to their forums.
Remember IOS will not run on either OS X or MS Windows, it only works on IOS devices.

1. Is it mandatory to create FxTrans Business Rules with SPRUNCONVERSION?
2. How does it work internally? How does it look up rate from the rate application?

1. Yes since it will base it's translation rules based on what is defined on the currency conversion business rules.
2. The stored procedure SPRUNCONVERSION scans all records found in the selected region of data and translates them according to the RATETYPE property assigned to the ACCOUNT specified in each record, based on the following mechanism:

All ACCOUNTS with no RATETYPE (ratetype = blank) will be translated with a factor of 1
All ACCOUNTS with the reserved RATETYPE = NOTRANS will not be translated
All other ACCOUNTS will be translated according to the definitions contained in the table of parameters called clcFXTRANS.
How the RATE table is selected
While most customers require a single table of rates, there are situations when more than one set of rates is required. In this situation, the translation procedure uses the RateEntity dimension to select the correct table of rates to use.
Whenever a destination currency is selected, the procedure searches for a RateEntity member flagged with this currency in the Currency property. For example, if translating into USD, the system uses the RateEntity member that has the Currency property set to USD.
If there is no RateEntity flagged as the destination currency, the system will use the RateEntity with Currency = 'u2019 (blank).
In addition to this, some exceptions by ENTITY can be applied. For example, some entities just entering in the consolidation perimeter may need to be converted at their own specific set of rates. These entities may have a corresponding RateEntity member in the RATE cube. All ENTITIES having a corresponding RateEntity member in the RATE cube will use that member as rate table. For example, if there is a RateEntity member named like the ENTITY USOps, the RateEntity member USOps will be used to translate the values of entity ENTITY USOps.
The RateEntity member, when representing an ENTITY, may be any of the following:
A valid base level or parent member ID from the ENTITY dimension of the main cube
A list of members of the ENTITY dimension, as defined filtering the members using a value of the DIMLIST property (or any property whose name begins with "DIMLISTu201D) of such dimension.

Question regarding encryption and decryption

Hi all,
I am doing a authentication project. In which I do encryption and decryption (AES 128 bit) in two different methods. At the time of encryption (for eg a text file ), I store the key in dat file (key.dat). And at the time of decryption, I read the key.dat and extract the key and do the decryption. This works fine. No problem with that.
But the problem is, that the client requires that
"No encryption keys will be written to the hard drive."
I have to store the key somewhere to decrypt the encrypted file. Right. Without storing the key, I cannot decrypt.
The question is (though its a foolish question) with out storing the key, can i encrypt and decrypt (in two different methods) the text file ?

I will give you an overview of my project. Its an Two Factor Authentication using an USB Flash Drive.
Admin Side : ( currently developing this part )
Through an CPP executable file ( writen by John Hyde USB By Example author), I retrive the Manufature ID, Product ID and Serial number of the USB Flash Drive from a text file which is generated when the executable file is executed.
From my Java application, i retrive the Manufature ID, Product ID and Serial number.The admin (through an dialog box ) enters an usernam and password . All this information ( Manufature ID, Product ID, Serial number , username and password ) using AES 128 bit encryption i write these information to encrypted file in the USB Flash drive along with the the encryption key used at the time of decryption.
User Side: ( not yet devleoped )
When the user plugs in the USB Flash drive, an dialog box is shown where the user enters the username and password ( assigned earlier by the admin). This username and password is checked along with the Manufature ID, Product ID and Serial number encrypted earlier and stored in the USB Flash drive. If username password ,Manufature ID, Product ID and Serial number (retrieved again by exectuing the CPP excutable file ) are correct the user is granted access.
Whats your suggestion reagrading of storing the encryption key? I have to store the key in the USB Flash drive along with the encrypted file. But then wont an intruder (for eg ) if he gets the key and decrypt the file ?
Client has mentioned to use AES 128 Bit encryption.

Problems with the ADF Tutorial for J2EE developers.

I have completed the ADF tutorial for 4GL developers withhout any major hickups. Now I have been doing the ADF tutorial for J2EE developers (locate here http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/adf_tutorial_1013/index.htm).
I ran into some problems around chapter 6 and after failing understanding the errors I loaded up the applicationscripts from the tutorial. However, I get an error from this script. I have tried to load up both end of chapter 5,6 and 7 and get the same error. So now I am at a total loss. So, I am turning to you. I have copied the entire error message below.
Unfortunately JDeveloper translates some keywords to Norwegian and I have tried to translate them back into english. Forgive me if its not 100% accurate but i think you will understand the keyword. I've translated these four keywords:

I tried to follow the tutorial using a mysql database, everything was fine till I tried to run the application I`ve got this error. Please help me, I can't resolve this problem. I test the jdbc driver and it is ok, I can use it from a simple java class but I can not use it from the web project.
