Quick & dirty Active X cure?

Luckily what litte Flash embedding I have done so far was
with using FlashObject, so I didn't have much to worry about with
my sites and the recent IE change.
But I did have some of video clips here and there that I had
embedded without using FlashObject, so just for the heck of it I
put them in a Floating iFrame (thanks to Project 7!!) and, well,
bye-bye Active X messages in IE.
I know some are against using iFrames because of their
accessiblity problems, but don't Flash elements themselves suffer
from similar issues? And an iFrame will pass transitional XHTML
validation, but not strict. So what do you folks think about this?

    dell   Windows XP

    Hi Pedro d,
    Yes but no! I have tried everything step by step several times. Researching Error 46 on the web is scary business!! The gangsters are out in force on this one, begging to take your money! From a couple of trusted sites I have been able to make this much clear at least for Vista users, I'm using Windows 7 but I think they relate:
    "Since the issue causing the Error 46 is that QuickTime registry entries don't have the correct permissions set, the repair is to go and reset all the incorrect permissions. However, this is a long and tedious process. The SubInACL tool from Microsoft (see the link in Resources) can change the permissions as a batch. The batch is defined by a CMD file that lists all of the registry keys to be changed. Once SubInACL is installed on your computer, move the CMD file with all the registry changes into the same folder, typically C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools. Right-click the CMD file, choose "Properties," check "Run this Program in Compatibility Mode" and select "Windows Vista (Service Pack 2)" from the drop-down menu. Click "OK." Do the same for SubInACL. When you're done, double-click on the CMD file and it will run. Your error should be gone."
    I don't have the expertise to do this, do you? I wish that Apple or someone would take the bull by the horns and fix this because what I've read their are a lot of people having this problem. Any thoughts on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

  • MDT: howto install some basic applications quick & dirty :-)?

    Hi,
    I'd like to install some applications quick & dirty (no loggings needed, just some lab testing), so an exe /qn in MDT without the hassle of importing application etc.
    I tried to map a share in a task sequence step then as a next step run ".\application - 1\application1.exe /qn" next step ".\application - 2\application2.exe /qn"  but that did not work.  The MDT is already shared under z:,
    should I point to z: instead?
    Anyhow, what's the proper way to do this? Or is there a quicker way to import a bunch of simple applications?
    Pls advise.

    MDT is easy, My uber command:
    msiexec.exe /qb- /i http://download.microsoft.com/download/B/F/5/BF5DF779-ED74-4BEC-A07E-9EB25694C6BB/MicrosoftDeploymentToolkit2013_x64.msi
    (Yes, msiexec.exe accepts http:// file paths, and works from anywhere with an internet connection).
    SCCM Setup is not trivial.

  • Quick rmi activation question

    Hi folks,
    I am having a problem with one my activatable objects. Originally I was working on NT but now I'm on Linux and there is a strrange difference in behaviour between the two.
    My Activatable Object starts up once on NT and on any subsequent calls to that object the original 'activated' object is used and no new instance created. However on Linux it seems that SEVEN instances of this objects is created! It's very strange indeed.
    Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is?
    I will enclose the rmid logs and also the command I use to run rmid.
    Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,

    Could you have run your activation-setup program seven times on Linux? Clean out your $JAVA_HOME/bin/log directory and run the setup once, then try your client again.

  • Quick & dirty OO ALV, supress info icon on toolbar, how

    Hello all,
    This is an example of a program template I use to create quick ALVs.
    I create a selection-screen 1001 and display the ALV grid on that screen.  I use this technique when my users just want to display data.  When the ALV is presented on screen 1001, clicking on the back, exit, or cancel buttons on the application toolbar exits the program.  Now I have been asked to go to screen 1000 (standard selection-screen) when exiting the ALV.
    How can I back out to selection-screen 1000, versus leaving the program?
    Thanks
    Bruce

    Alternatively, you can use the selection screen 1000 and generate the ALV on top of that. Check the example, [Display ALV report output in the SAME Selection Screen|http://help-abap.blogspot.com/2008/10/dispaly-alv-report-output-in-same.html]. This example uses the SALV, but you can very well use the ALV grid for the same purpose. In this case, you don't have to worry about the Std buttons at all!

  • Quick Poll Activation

    I have created a Quick Poll, started it, the status is ongoing, I have selected specific users but the Quick Poll iViews still display "No Poll is currently available"
    Is there an additional step?
    Is there a background process that refreshes the iViews.
    Regards
    Antony

    Hi Antony,
    Have you set the campaign name in the startpage iView as you have created in the quick poll? You have to set this parameter otherwise the quick poll is not working. The name of the campaign in the iView and in the Quick Pole must be the same to activate your wished quick poll in the startpage.
    You can find this iView in the PCD under Portal User/Standard Portal Users/ Standard Userrole. Edit that role and look after that belonged iView to edit the campaign.
    Hope that helps,
    Frank

  • Quick & dirty concerning Java sound?

    I want to capture a song from a CD and play it in a Java applet- no problem capturing it as a .wav file or whatever, using RealJukebox, etc.
    My question is what kind of compression to use, since an uncompressed CD wave file would be tough on 56k connections (even though Java sound apparently can stream) and take up a lot of disk space. Is JMStudio useful for compressing?

    Thanks- I've seen that. I've also seen some contradictory (presumably older) documentation at http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/applet/appletsonly/sound.html claiming that Java sound only supports the .au format. I'm not familiar with .au or .aiff and I was hoping maybe somebody knows what's useful for conpressing a song from CD to fair quality & low bit-rate. On the other hand, this tidbit:
    "Problem: Some of my audio files won't play.
    Solution: You cannot play WAV, AU, AIFF, or AU files compressed using ADPCM or other compression schemes. The Java Sound engine supports only linear PCM audio files."
    makes it sound as if I can forget about low bit-rate...

  • Tool Bar is not active & some projects state "No Masters"

    Hi,
    My edit tool bar is not active and some of my projects state that there are no Masters. The photos in the project folders are the "masters". I feel I may have clicked on something by accident or unchecked something. Any suggestions?
    Thank you!

    I think you have the Quick Preview active. Right hand bottom corner of the viewer. A little box will be yellow. Click on it, and the adjustments are then available.
    Always use quick Preview when looking through your images. Clicking on one of the tools at the bottom of the viewer will also take Quick Preview off.

  • Problem in Transferring activity ID structure to activity codes

    Hi,
    I am working on a power plant schedule. We have two sets of structure for Activities i.e. Activity ID consisting of 10 digits and activity codes. we have setup a database as per our requirement. People who have worked on Power plant projects might be aware that there are two many systems involved the numbers runs into few hundreds.
    For a certain specific client requirement I have to use activity ID structure in place of activity codes. For this i need to transfer all system name and description in Activity ID to Activity Codes....its a tedious process. if anyone had encountered such a problem please revert back
    ACTIVITY ID ACTIVITY CODES
    ENAAAA0100 - Start of project AAAA - Start of Project
    STFFFF0100 - Finish of Project FFFF - Finish of Project
    AAAA - Start of Project
    FFFF - Finish of Project

    This might be an area where the project.xls file would prove useful. It used to be available on the Primavera Knowledgebase, I assume Oracle has it on theirs as well. I assume, because I can't access the KB anymore.
    Anyway, using Project.xls (or projectmod.xls) you can connect to the data dictionaries and create values much more quickly. Activity.xls (or activitymod.xls) allows you to assign values to activities pretty efficiently.
    It has worked for us many times.

  • Active version

    Hi Experts,
    Can anybody please explain me,
    What is the importance of Active version field in Capacity header of work center. How to maintain Active version.
    Please explain with suitable example if possible will more helpful to understand quickly.

    Hi,
    Active Version in Work center Capacity Header view is used to indicate the Available capacity of the work center. Which inturn is used for capacity calculation and also for scheduling.
    You can create different version to check and have one as active version. Go through the below details to understand better :
    Maintenance of Available Capacities
    Purpose
    In this process you maintain the available capacities for work centers.
    Prerequisites
    You have assigned the capacities, whose available capacities are to be maintained to the work center already. You have also entered the general data for these capacities.
    Process flow
    Proceed as follows for every capacity in the work center:
    As required reference or copy an available capacity that already exists.
    If you are referencing an available capacity, you can only work directly in the referenced capacity. Continue as in step 4.
    If you copy an available capacity, you can edit this copy. Continue as in step 2.
    Maintain the standard available capacity for the capacity.
    Maintain available capacity versions for the capacity. Proceed as follows for each interval of available capacity in an available capacity.
    Edit the general interval of available capacity data. Specify whether it should have a one day or seven day cycle period. Edit the general data of the interval of available capacity. Specify whether it should have a one day or seven day cycle period.
    b) Edit the shifts in the interval of available capacity. Proceed as follows for every day of the cycle:
    I) Specify the number of shifts.
    II) Edit the data of the shifts.
    If you want to use this version in scheduling and capacity planning, activate this version.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Activity monitor - what are all these processes and how do i stop them?

    hi.
    i have a laptop that i use completely for live music performance and i want to disable everything on the mac that could be taking up RAM and CPU power.
    i firstly notice airport base station agent and spotlight. can i disable these?
    i also notice itunes helper... whats that?
    i also have lots of others such as - ATSServer, launchd, loginwindow, mdworker, pboard, syncserver, systemUIServer and UserEventAgent... what are these and do i need them running?
    many thanks....

    hi.
    thanks for coming back with an answer so quickly.
    in activity monitor i can see spotlight is taking up about 25mb.
    i have a 6GB music session to run with a huge CPU load so every bit of my 4GB RAM is taken up.
    i do use spotlight a lot but could do without if it meant freeing up a little bit of space... it all helps!
    i can see no page outs and it says 0 bytes but even though im running nothing on my computer i only have 3.3GB of my 4 available. 260MB is active and 420MB is wired.
    im sure ableton live (my live music app) would appreciate even a little bit more RAM...
    i know the maximum RAM my mac can have is 4GB but i think thats the limit for the application anyway so buying a new mac and more RAM wouldnt help i dont think....
    any ideas?

  • Search for records in the event viewer after the last run (not the entire event log), remove duplicate - Output Logon type for a specific OU users

    Hi,
    The following code works perfectly for me and give me a list of users for a specific OU and their respective logon types :-
    $logFile = 'c:\test\test.txt'
    $_myOU = "OU=ABC,dc=contosso,DC=com"
    # LogonType as per technet
    $_logontype = @{
        2 = "Interactive"
        3 = "Network"
        4 = "Batch"
        5 = "Service"
        7 = "Unlock"
        8 = "NetworkCleartext"
        9 = "NewCredentials"
        10 = "RemoteInteractive"
        11 = "CachedInteractive"
    Get-WinEvent -FilterXml "<QueryList><Query Id=""0"" Path=""Security""><Select Path=""Security"">*[System[(EventID=4624)]]</Select><Suppress Path=""Security"">*[EventData[Data[@Name=""SubjectLogonId""]=""0x0""
    or Data[@Name=""TargetDomainName""]=""NT AUTHORITY"" or Data[@Name=""TargetDomainName""]=""Window Manager""]]</Suppress></Query></QueryList>" -ComputerName
    "XYZ" | ForEach-Object {
        #TargetUserSid
        $_cur_OU = ([ADSI]"LDAP://<SID=$(($_.Properties[4]).Value.Value)>").distinguishedName
        If ( $_cur_OU -like "*$_myOU" ) {
            $_cur_OU
            #LogonType
            $_logontype[ [int] $_.Properties[8].Value ]
    #Time-created
    $_.TimeCreated
        $_.Properties[18].Value
    } >> $logFile
    I am able to pipe the results to a file however, I would like to convert it to CSV/HTML When i try "convertto-HTML"
    function it converts certain values . Also,
    a) I would like to remove duplicate entries when the script runs only for that execution.
    b) When the script is run, we may be able to search for records after the last run and not search in the same
    records that we have looked into before.
    PLEASE HELP !

    If you just want to look for the new events since the last run, I suggest to record the EventRecordID of the last event you parsed and use it as a reference in your filter. For example:
    <QueryList>
      <Query Id="0" Path="Security">
        <Select Path="Security">*[System[(EventID=4624 and
    EventRecordID>46452302)]]</Select>
        <Suppress Path="Security">*[EventData[Data[@Name="SubjectLogonId"]="0x0" or Data[@Name="TargetDomainName"]="NT AUTHORITY" or Data[@Name="TargetDomainName"]="Window Manager"]]</Suppress>
      </Query>
    </QueryList>
    That's this logic that the Server Manager of Windows Serve 2012 is using to save time, CPU and bandwidth. The problem is how to get that number and provide it to your next run. You can store in a file and read it at the beginning. If not found, you
    can go through the all event list.
    Let's say you store it in a simple text file, ref.txt
    1234
    At the beginning just read it.
    Try {
    $_intMyRef = [int] (Get-Content .\ref.txt)
    Catch {
    Write-Host "The reference EventRecordID cannot be found." -ForegroundColor Red
    $_intMyRef = 0
    This is very lazy check. You can do a proper parsing etc... That's a quick dirty way. If I can read
    it and parse it as an integer, I use it. Else, I just set it to 0 meaning I'll collect all info.
    Then include it in your filter. You Get-WinEvent becomes:
    Get-WinEvent -FilterXml "<QueryList><Query Id=""0"" Path=""Security""><Select Path=""Security"">*[System[(EventID=4624 and EventRecordID&gt;$_intMyRef)]]</Select><Suppress Path=""Security"">*[EventData[Data[@Name=""SubjectLogonId""]=""0x0"" or Data[@Name=""TargetDomainName""]=""NT AUTHORITY"" or Data[@Name=""TargetDomainName""]=""Window Manager""]]</Suppress></Query></QueryList>"
    At the end of your script, store the last value you got into your ref.txt file. So you can for example get that info in the loop. Like:
    $Result += $LogonRecord
    $_intLastId = $Event.RecordId
    And at the end:
    Write-Output $_intLastId | Out-File .\ref.txt
    Then next time you run it, it is just scanning the delta. Note that I prefer this versus the date filter in case of the machine wasn't active for long or in case of time sync issue which can sometimes mess up with the date based filters.
    If you want to go for a date filtering, do it at the Get-WinEvent level, not in the Where-Object. If the query is local, it doesn't change much. But in remote system, it does the filter on the remote side therefore you're saving time and resources on your
    side. So for example for the last 30 days, and if you want to use the XMLFilter parameter, you can use:
    <QueryList>
    <Query Id="0" Path="Security">
    <Select Path="Security">*[System[TimeCreated[timediff(@SystemTime) &lt;= 2592000000]]]</Select>
    </Query>
    </QueryList>
    Then you can combine it, etc...
    PS, I used the confusing underscores because I like it ;)
