Quick search and New buttons on master - detail pages

Hi
When I generate master-detail pages, the master has quick search and new button, but detail's doesn't. How can I generate the detail with quick search and new button options?
Thanks in advance
Liceth

Liceth,
Only one group within a page can have Quick Search functionality.
A New button is generated for a group when insert is allowed and the layout style includes a form layout page (table-form, select-form, form or tree-form)

  • How & where to use Java script to create new button in object detail page

    Hi All,
    I want to create "New/Add button" in object detail page. If i am not wrong i need to use java script for that but could you please let me know how & where to use Java script to create new button in object detail page in CRMOD.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Manish

    Any related object on the detail page should have an "Add" or "New" or both buttons by default - This is vanilla functionality and will do the required action.
    If you want to modify this behaviour and do something tricky you will potentially have to go for javascript. You should add the javascript on a custom web tab on that Object.
    Admin --> Application Customization --> Contact -->Contact Web Applet
    Now, add your javascript in the code area, after you select the type = HTML for this web applet, expose this web applet on the Contact detail layout and your javascript will be invoked whenever this page is loaded.
    Check this online document to see how javascript can be embedded in CRM on Demand http://helponmyproject.com/TTOCOD/

  • 'Next' and 'Previous' buttons in master/detail region

    Hi,
    I've managed to successfully create a master/detail region
    which is basically a very simple photo gallery.
    The left column shows the thumbnails, and when I click on
    them it shows the full-size version in the right column.
    I've been trawling userguides and forums for hours now, and I
    just can't work out how I can put a 'next' and 'previous' button
    beneath the large image enabling the viewer to move to the next
    image.
    I'm guessing it might be something to do with setRowNumber,
    but I'm just not sure.
    I'm pulling my (receding) hair out on this one, so any help
    or useful links would be much appreciated!
    My (basic) code below
    <div spry:region="dsGT" id="thumbholder">
    <div id="thumb" spry:repeat="dsGT"><img
    src="onlinegallery/thumbs/{@path}" width="50" height="50"
    spry:setrow="dsGT"></div>
    </div>
    </div>
    <!--End Navigation Div-->
    <div id="copy">
    <div id="fullimage">
    <div spry:detailregion="dsGT">
    <img src="onlinegallery/main/{@path}" />
    </div>
    Many thanks!

    They make a call to JavaScript, I'm guessing you knew that?
    I'm 96.7% JS illiterate, so I'm incapable of explaining it.
    You have to download the Spry Framework, unpackage it, look
    in the Demos folder, then look in the Gallery folder. Gallery.js, i
    think, is where that JS call goes to in order to switch out the
    next/prev image.

  • Weird Problem with Add Row Button in Master Detail Page

    I have a page that was created with a Master Detail Wizard. When I click the Add Row button on our Production Environment, the row counter increments BUT no blank row shows on the screen.
    In our Development Environment, when I click the Add Row button, a blank row appears as expected. Thinking there was some problem with the production app, I exported the Dev version and imported into Production. Still no blank row.
    Thinking perhaps it had something to do with the data, I copied our production application data back into the development application tables. Still, the development app creates the blank row where the production version does not.
    I even used the same browser window for both environments and still get the same results. This was working fine in production then just stopped one day.
    The only clue I have is that the Add Row WILL work if the Master Record has no details or less than a page worth. It seems to happen when the detail records are more than one page worth. Also, when I click the Add Row button, it goes to the last page of the list (say three pages of 10, 10, 6) but no blank row shows up. Again, works fine in the development environment no matter how many pages.
    Any ideas or suggestions why this is happening? Could there be some environment setting that is causing this to happen?

  • Refresh problem by combination of programmatic view and master-detail page

    I am using the latest versions of both ADF (10.1.3.2.0.4066) and JHeadstart (10.1.3.1.26) and I have an application with 1 page in which I have as root page a programmatic view (table-form) which I fill with request parameters.
    Under that programmatic view I have a master (table) with 3 detail pages (table).
    The programmatic view is populated with always 1 row, which goes always correct.
    The problem is occuring when iterating through the first entity based master table which contains lots of rows. Then the problem is that when you navigate through the master table the detail pages are refreshed correctly, but when you navigate back to the first row that row won't get updated.
    The next thing I tried is create a new jheadstart application with only the master-detail pages (entity based), so without the programmatic view, and then the iterating through the master table and the refresh of the child tables is working correct.
    What can be the problem here.

    Have you tested this in the ADF Business Components Browser? That's the tester that you can find by right-clicking your ADF BC Application Module and choosing Test. If you go to the View Object instance for the programmatic view, and using the ViewLinks to its children, do you get the same behavior as in the JHeadstart application?

  • Search Panel in Master-Detail Page

    Hi experts,
    I've stuck to a wierd problem, where i've implemented a master-detail relationship in a page. This works fine.
    I've also created a search page seperately for this. But now, i'm confused on how to add an item into the searchPanel which would be mapped with a detail attribute.
    For E.g:
    ===============================================================
    SearchPage: (1st Page)
    Item1 __________________
    Item2 __________________
    Item3 __________________
    GO CLEAR
    ResultsTable:
    Item1 || Item2 || Item3
    ==============================================================
    CreatePage: (2nd Page)
    Master Details.... CANCEL APPLY
    Item1 ____________________
    Item2 ____________________
    Item3 ____________________
    Details .....
    Item4 || Item5 || Item6
    CANCEL APPLY
    ===================================================================
    **Now i wanna add "Item4" into the search panel of the SearchPage. I hope its clear to you, in case not, just poke me once.
    Regards
    Ari

    Oh !! Gosh Keerthi,
    I know that, how to add attributes into the searchPanel. U're not getting the pulse of the problem. Lemme explain it once again...
    I've got two VOs .. Lets say !! MasterTableVO and DetailTableVO.
    Now in the "SearchPage", i've referenced only the MasterTableVO from advancedTable and got simpleSearchPanel on advancedTable where i've 3 items ITEM1,ITEM2,ITEM3 (these 3 r MasterTableVO attributes.)
    **As this is a master-detail page .. so for each master table record, there r multiple detail records entered in the 2nd Page.
    Now supposedly, i wanna search only those master detail records in the SearchPage which contains a certain "XYZ" value for the ITEM4(this is in DetailTableVO) in the detail records.
    So, To your inquiry .. No, Item4 doesn't exists in the VO referenced in the advancedTable of the SearchPage.
    Regards
    Ari :)

  • Spry Tabbed Panels and Master/ Detail Page Set interraction

    Hi,
    I have created a feedback form and am using a Spry Tabbed Panel to allow users to review all responses to one question and then all responses to the next question in different tabs, there are 6 tabs in all. In each tab I have created a Master/ Detail Page set - well actually just the Master appears in the tab. This is working fine. I allow up to 20 responses to be shown on each tab, after which the user selects First/Previous/Next/Last. When they do this the screen refreshes and the tabbed panel display goes back to the default tab, clicking on the tab previously used correctly displays whichever of First/Previous/Next/Last the user selected. I'd like the display to remain on the user's current tab when they select First/Previous/Next/Last.

  • Quick Search and Domains

    When using quick-search in a field which contains a domain, the value queried is not the ones from the "meaning" but the physical value on the table. Example:
    The following domain:
    <Domain name="Priority">
    <AllowableValue value="LOW" meaning="niedrig"/>
    <AllowableValue value="MEDIUM" meaning="mittel"/>
    <AllowableValue value="HIGH" meaning="hoch"/>
    </Domain>
    Can only be searched by LOW/MEDIUM/HIGH and not niedrig/mittel/hoch.
    In advanced search is working fine, as I have the drop-down list with the options. But in quick-search, where I have to type the value, is not working.

    Idevaldo,
    This problem is inherent to the Quick Search dropdownlist technique. The same text item is used for each queryable attribute. In the Advanced Search, there is a separate item for each attribute, which makes it possible to have a choice item for the domain/lookup that returns the underlying value, even if the end user only sees the meaning.
    You will find that if you change the Quick Search type to singleSearchField, and as the search attribute specify the one with a domain or choice lookup, then JHeadstart will generate a dropdownlist for the meanings in the Quick Search area as expected.
    So my suggestion is that you remove this particular attribute from the Quick Search, and let it only be available in the Advanced Search (post-gen). Or you could generate only an Advanced Search region, or make the attribute non-queryable (which would remove it from both the Advanced Search and the Quick Search).
    Hope this helps,

  • How to Create Master Detail Page with Query Region

    Hi,
    1. I have a requirement that i need to create a Master(Supplier) Detail(Supplier Site) Page with Query Region.
    Eg. Supplier A in Australia has Supplier Sites X in Melbourne and Y in Sydney.
          Supplier B in US has Supplier Sites C in New York and D in California.
    I need to have Search, based on two fields Supplier Name and Country
    Let us assume i am searching with Supplier Name A then the page should be in the below layout
    Query Region
    Supplier Name : A
    Country:
    Master
    Supplier Name  Country
        A                     Australia
    Detail
    Supplier Site  City
    X                   Melbourne
    Y                   Sydney
    In detail VO it should allow me to add new sites which means i need to connect this VO to database to insert new records
    I have gone few threads and understood that this can be achieved by creating SupplierVO, SupplierSiteVO and a ViewLink.
    But when tried i don't know how can i relate my query region with the Suppleir Table(Header Reagin and Table Using Wizard) and Supplier Site Table(Header Region and Table Using Wizard) i am not sure if i am correct or not, please advise
    2. Also i need to have a Open button in this page and if click the button it should navigate to some other page.
    Please help me how can i achieve this.
    - How to design my page with query region and master detail tables
    - what is the AM and CO code need to be handled
    - What is the code should i write in Open button to open new OAF page.
    Thanks,

  • Question on "Master Detail page using ADF" sample

    I downloaded the "Master Detail page using ADF" sample application. I modified editDepartment.jsp page to include the Commit button as follows:
    <html:submit property="event_Commit">Save and Commit</html:submit>
    When I go to edit a department record and click on the new "Save and Commit" button, I SQLed the DEPARTMENTS table and noticed that the edits were not commited. I also restarted the embedded OC4J server and still get the same results. For some reason, the department view object contains the modification but the entity object doesn't. Why?

    Scott,
    My colleague suggested a workaround, which is to explicitly include the detail table's id in the master table's partialTargets list. So, for example, in MasterDetailDP.uix, changing:
    <table model="${bindings.DepartmentsView1}"
           id="DepartmentsView111"
           partialRenderMode="multiple"
           partialTargets="_uixState">to:
    <table model="${bindings.DepartmentsView1}"
           id="DepartmentsView111"
           partialRenderMode="multiple"
           partialTargets="_uixState EmployeesView312">...will cause the detail table to be updated when sorting the master table.
    There is some question about whether sorting a table should actually cause the currently selected row to change - we're still discussing this point.

  • Master Detail Page

    Hi,
    I'm new at JDeveloper (using it for 3 weeks now), and I need some assistance in a little problem that I have. Let me give a description:
    I need to develop a master-detail page (I've tried several examples that I've found in this forum and blogs, but I can't seem to put it right), with a little difference from the usual. Let me start by describing my problem:
    I need to develop a Master-Detail page with a little information form on the top, and a Master-Detail Table on the bottom. There will be 3 tables related in this page, let's call it Table Emp, Table tabMaster (Master), Table tabDetail (Detail). The following information can be useful:
    Cardinality : Emp 1 - * tabMaster
    tabMaster 1 - * tabDetail
    The information form will be populated by a query that will execute on Emp, with a Emp.Id received by (for example) sessionScope. With this same Emp.id received by sessionScope, e need to develop a Master-Detail Table based on tabMaster and tabDetail. With this same Emp.id, I will query tabMaster to show the items related with Emp. The tabDetail will show the items related with tabMaster selected item.
    I'm sorry for the trouble, but I'm around this problem, for quite some time, and I've tried almost anything I can remember (since, invokeAction, viewlinks, you name it...).
    Thanks in advance
    Tiago Soares

    Hi,
    try the following
    1. drag and drop the form on top
    2. drag and drop the dependent master view as a table
    3. drag and drop the dependent detail table
    4. Add an ID to the buttons that force a currency change on the top form
    5. Select the table components and put in all the IDs as the value for the PartialTrigger property
    This will ensure the tables are getting refreshed when the form changes

    In the ADF BC Tester the application module runs properly.
    How can I debug?
    Is there something wrong in the model level or view level?
    Thanks in advance
    Peter

    Thanks Menk for your idea!
    I located the source of the problem in the pagedef:
    After changing the RefreshCondition of the Detail Iterator from
    <iterator id="DETAILIterator" Binds="DETAILView1"
    DataControl="xyzDataControl" RangeSize="-1"
    RefreshCondition="#{searchMASTER.queryExecuted}"/>
    to
    <iterator id="DETAILIterator" Binds="DETAILView1"
    DataControl="xyzDataControl" RangeSize="-1"
    RefreshCondition="#{adfFacesContext.postback == true}"/>
    and switching off "Generate Page Definiton" everything works as exspected!

  • Can I link from Interactive report Page 1 to Master Detail page 2?

    Hi folks-
    I know how to create a Page as an Interactive Report; it creates 2 pages automatically (primary page with the great interactive bar) and a 2nd page that's a single record.
    I know how to create a Page as Master Detail, whereby I get a tabular list without the super interactive bar, and I can select a record, and get transported to a nice page with 2 regions (master on top, detail on bottom).
    I want to have the First page from the Interactive Report, select the record, and go to the 2nd page of a MasterDetail.
    Do I create the Interactive Report, and customize the 2nd page, to add a region?
    Or, do I create both page types, and redirect from the 1st page of the Interactive Report to the DML Form from the MD report? I tried that, re-assigning the link from the Interactive Report to be a Link to Custom Target, and specify the page # of the Master-Detail page. And it is taking me to the right page, but the data from the selected row is not coming with me, and the detail in the bottom region is not appearing at all.
    Can someone please give me a nudge as to the sequence I should be doing?
    (As you can tell, I'm new to Apex.... I'm trying to use it to create a prototype or proof-of-concept for a database driven web application)
    Thank you
    Marion

    Yes, I tried that after I wrote to you - and it's fine, but not what I'm after; it's only based on 1 table and I'm working with 2 tables.
    Perhaps I can explain in better.
    I want one page as an interactive tabular report (of the master records)
    I want to select a row, and transfer to a page that has the corresponding row on top (as a form), and a tabular region below of records from a related detail table.
    ie, I want page 1 from the Interactive Report, and page 2 of the Master Detail report.
    OK - I just took the form page, and added a region below in a tabular report. And I'm getting the data, but I'm getting all the records (not just the ones associated with the single record on top. I figure I need to edit the Region Definition->Source (to specify that the id numbers need to match), but the code is not editable.....
    So I am in Structured Query Attributes, and I've Modified the Join Conditions - but I still get all the detail records in the bottom region. I''m trying to add in the ( + ) qualifier, but it doesn't affect anything...
    I'm soo close to what i'm trying to do!
    Thank you for your continued patience and assistance
    Marion
    here's the Source I have for the region..... (I'm including the excess ID columns just for learning purposes)
    SELECT
    "PHONENUMBERS"."PHONE_ENTITY_ID" "PHONE_ENTITY_ID",
    "ENTITIES"."ENTITY_ID" "ENTITY_ID",
    "ENTITIES"."FIRSTNAME" "FIRSTNAME",
    "ENTITIES"."LASTNAME" "LASTNAME",
    "ENTITIES"."COMPANY" "COMPANY",
    "PHONENUMBERS"."PHONE_ID" "PHONE_ID",
    "PHONENUMBERS"."PHONETYPE" "PHONETYPE",
    "PHONENUMBERS"."PHONENUMBER" "PHONENUMBER",
    "PHONENUMBERS"."PHONECOMMENT" "PHONECOMMENT"
    FROM
    "PHONENUMBERS",
    "ENTITIES"
    WHERE ENTITIES.ENTITY_ID = PHONENUMBERS.PHONE_ENTITY_ID
