Quick Time Pro (Full Screen)

I installed Quick Time Pro correctly (I believe) but I really see no difference. Can I view videos in full screen now? If so... How?
Thanks

Open QT>View>Enter Full Screen
BTW: You can go full screen w/just the free version of QT.

Quicktime Pro will do full screen streaming videos that are compatible with Quicktime installed Codecs. If the video of the Olympics on the website has a specific URL to go straight to the video, then yes, you can call upon it with Quicktime Pro's player and then watch it fullscreen.
If the video of the Olympics was embedded such a way that you can't find the direct link to the video, then the limitation is how the webpage is designed. Thanks to Flip4Mac, there is now also a Windows Media codec you can install for Quicktime as well:
    http://www.flip4mac.com/wmv_download.htm
Although some video software like Elgato's EyeTV don't work with it yet. If you are using Elgato's software, don't download it, and rather download Windows Media Player for Mac OS X:
    http://tinyurl.com/26pxg
if the video is in Windows Media.
If the video is in Realplayer, click on the Realplayer Free button on the upper right corner of:
    http://www.real.com/player/?src=realaudio
You can enter a dummy address and password if you don't want Real's offers.
If it is still a question of not being able to determine the true link to the video, try using different Mac web browsers to see what result you get:

  • Image Sequencing in Quick Time Pro

Since upgrading to Snow Leopard I have been unable to get Quick Time Pro to created an Image Sequence. I'm wondering if this is an issue created by Quick Time Pro being moved to its new location in Snow Leopard.
Can anyone, who's recently upgraded, test Image Sequencing out and see it is still working in Snow Leopard?
    Here's what I've been doing:
I have a folder of photos named sequentially:
    photo1.JPG
    photo2.JPG
    photo3.JPG
    photo4.JPG
    photo5.JPG
I choose "Open Image Sequence"from the File menue
I choose the first file in the folder
A dialog comes up asking about the frame rate
    The entire screen turns black
I choose "Present Movie" from the View menu
The controls show the movie is playing, but nothing but black shows on the screen.

My experience is that the feature 'open a sequence of images' does not work in 10.6.
I ran Software Update hoping to upgrade to 7.6.4 but was not prompted to install any updates.
    Steps taken:
Clicked File, Open Image Sequence…, Select folder
The Open button is not available to click after this is done where it was in the past.
Selecting an image, within the selected folder, illuminates the Open button. It is not possible to select additional items by keyboard (shift, option, command) with they keyboard or mouse and mouse alone (click & drag).
Quicktime prompts as the OP notes but I see the image with the selected time delay where they did not.
This has been tested on a Mac Pro and a MacBook Pro, both running 10.6.1.

  • Quick Time Pro will not launch

10/04/10: I downloaded Quick Time 7 and purchased a key for Pro. I can open video files with QT7Pro but I cannot launch Quick Time from either the short cut that was created or from the All Programs. The only thing that happens is that the Apple Quick Time logo and name appear in the bottom of the screen as though the program was shrunk down. It will not launch. Right clicking on the icon only provides the capability to "move" "minimuze" or "close." Maximize is grayed out and so is "restore."
I'd like to use the software I purchased to edit my videos and use some of the other features of Quick Time Pro.
What could be the issue? HELP.
    Bill N. in Sarasota, Florida

That sounds a bit like a blown-out QuickTime preference file, Bill.
First we'll try rebuilding the QuickTime.qtp file, to see if that helps with the launch.
Quit QuickTime if the button is currently showing in your Taskbar.
We'll now have to set you up to view hidden files and folders.
    (1) Quit Safari if you have it open
    (2) Go Start > Open.
    (3) In the Organize menu, click Folder and Search Options.
    (4) Click the View tab.
    (5) Make sure that Show hidden files and folders is selected.
    (6) Click OK.
Now look for a QuickTime folder in one of the following two locations (where "UserAccountName" is the name of the user account in which QuickTime isn't launching correctly):
    C:\Users\UserAccountName\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\QuickTime\
    ... or:
    C:\Users\UserAccountName\AppData\LocalLow\Apple Computer\QuickTime\
Drag the entire QuickTime folder out onto your Desktop.
Now launch the QuickTime Player again. (This should rebuild the folder and contained preference files.)
Does the Player launch properly this time? Or do you still get the same trouble?

  • How do I save movies puchased from Apple as .avi file from Quick Time Pro?

Help! I've purchased Quick Time Pro in hopes of converting my movies purchased from I Tunes to .avi files so they would be viewable through a media player. I exported the movie as discribed through Quick Time Pro and upon completion only get a white screen with no sound when the .avi file is opened. I'm concerned because this was an Apple file to start with and the necessary codecs (or whatever I need) should be included in the Quick Time Pro. What's the deal? Thanks.

The terminology is known as "Fair Use" and the U.S. Supreme Court had to get involved to sort the mess out.
When the first VHS and BetaMax "recorders" allow people to capture TV broadcasts and use them as they see fit (view at a different time than intended) these new "rules" were established.
Today no one thinks twice to use these "time shifting" devices (TiVo and others) to first "record" and then fast forward through content (skipping the people that really pay for the distribution by bypassing the commercials).
When you buy a DVD the "rules" say you get the right to view it on a DVD player or on your computer (also using DVD player software).
But, even though you "bought it", you never get the rights to change, edit, modify or convert it to fit your Fair Use rights.
The original poster wanted to convert some one else's file to another format. Apple doesn't own it (it only "sells" it). QuickTime Pro can't be used because it follows these "rules" regarding true ownership of the content (the copyright holders).
Since they have only purchased the right to "view" the file in the format is was sold (CD, DVD or iTunes purchase) they do not get the right to convert or edit the file.

  • Quick time PRO registration problems..

I just got a Quick Time PRO for Windows licence and when I try to register the QT version 7.1.5 using the information given to me by the eletronic purchases personnel it just does not work. The purchase information is not conserved by the software. Is there anyone that can help with this situation?
    Lemos

Ya, the administator account that originally installed QT is not the same account that is trying to install the pro key, you need to get full control

  • I am having problems exporting my time lapses from quick time pro i need to save my files as photo jpegs but the standard video compression window will not open fully,

i am having problems exporting my time lapses from quick time pro i need to save my files as photo jpegs but the standard video compression window will not open fully, it just keeps my mac (old 1.6Ghz 2.5 GB sdram G5 still good for most stuff i need) spinning for ever but i can see compression type H.264 selected and the other setting but i can not select any other options as it still thinking but never opens! why is this happening how do i get round it?
my work flow is: 300 images shot on a 5d mark II medium jpegs opened in Light Room cropped to 16:9 then exported and opened in quick time i can save a .mov H264 giving me files sizes of 14 mb for a 16 second time lapse, mp4 9 mb. the only way i can get large files is saving as a self contained movie then i get 300mb files.
i need to save my files 1920 x 1080 photo jpeg codec as i want HD quality.
i am sure there is a simple way round this?
    thanks guys!

It is very difficult to offer troubleshooting suggestions when the "os version" you are using is unknown as each os has their own troubleshooting solutions.
How large is your hard drive and how much hard drive space do you have left?

I strongly recommend you use compressor to do the conversion (if it will open the files - since quicktime will open them, it will more than likely do it.
Compressor allows you to customize presets and save them and apply them to multiple files.  Although the interface may seem daunting, it's actually pretty simple.
Even if you can edit the avi in fcp, it's not a good idea.  Liable to cause problems down the road.

  • How many times can I download Quick Time Pro once I purchased it?

Last September I purched my update to Quick Time Pro. Now I bought a new Computer and re-formatted the old one, not being able to copy Quick Time Pro from the old to the new computer. Therefore I wanted to download again Quick Time Pro: In the settings window I introduced my program key and then "accepted". It said "Quick Time pro" below the registration line; however, the "apply" buttom was not operative. I checked and my Quick Time version was still "Quick Time 7", not Pro. My question is: how many times can I download Quick Time Pro once I purched it? If I can download it more often than once, how do I proceed? Thank you for your help.

    I started this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2454706&tstart=0
but I'm afraid it's so involved that thus far, nobody has "touched" it.
However, PART of my problem is similar to THIS person's.
My problem is that I have QT on two different drives in one computer; the one I paid for [QT Pro?] and one I got for free; QT7. I fear the free QT7 might have "interfered" with my "Pro".
So, taking your advice above, looking in the "Help" "About" menu, I find that BOTH of mine another "offer" above the word "About"; they suggest that I "Purchase QT Pro"...... so now, if BOTH of my QT's say THAT, then may I conclude that I do NOT have the Pro version? I'm meaning to say that if I already HAVE the Pro, they wouldn't suggest that I go and "Buy QT Pro".... right? Is this a safe conclusion? for ya'll that HAVE the Pro, and KNOW it, does it suggest to you that you could go and "purchase QT Pro"?
    Thanks,
    LarryR : )

  • HT2240 My hard drive crashed and I want to reinstall Quick Time Pro. I have a record of the Registration Code, but can't work out how to download the Pro version once again.

How do I reinstall Quick Time Pro for the second time if I no longer have the original email even though I have the registration code??
My PC died and I want to reinstall on a new PC.

Download and install the "free" version of QuickTime Player from Apple.
Under its Edit menu choose Preferences / Registration and enter your info. This "unlocks" the Pro features found in the free download.

  • Quick Time Pro in Windows 7

I have quick time pro 7 but use it in Windows not Mac.  I can't find a way to play a .wma file in quick time pro.  All I can see online is codec software to allow wma files to play in quick time if you have a mac.  This doesn't help if you are trying to use quick time pro with windows.
I have a movie I created in windows live movie maker and want to play it in quick time pro or more specifically import it so I can export it to a m4v file to upload the video on my iphone 4s.   The video orginated from my iphone 4 as mov but I found it much easier to edit in movie maker over quick time pro but now can't save the file as mpeg4 or m4v in movie maker so I need to be able to open the save wma in quicktime pro.

The Windows version of QuickTime Player can't open Windows Media Player formats.
The only reason the Mac version uses QuickTime for WMP files is because of additional third party software.

  • I purchased quick time pro, and attempted to download quick time 7, but it says I have quick time x installed.  I deleted quick time x but it still says it is there and will not let me install.

In the optional install items-Quick Time is not an option. I am on Leopard.
    Then you either:
    1) never had QT X installed and could not have deleted it since QT X is only installed on Snow Leopard (OS X v10.6), Lion (OS X v10.7), and Mountain Lion (OS X v10.8) systems or...
    2) you are actually running Snow Leopard (OS X v10.6) and not Leopard (OS X v10.5) as you just stated.
Please confirm which statment is actually correct.
