Quotes for "Managing Software Engineering" and "Advanced Architectures" course material?

I tried sending an e-mail through NI.com and never got a response, so I thought I'd try the forums.
I'm interested in purchasing the course materials for "Managing Software Engineering" and "Advanced Architectures" as part of my CLA prep. There aren't any courses being taught in my area, and nothing seems to be scheduled for an online course. I couldn't find the information searching through the course pages on NI.com.
Does anyone know how much it would cost to get just the course material for self-teaching?
Thanks.

Hi,
You can purchase the course kits.
Here is a link.
http://sine.ni.com/tacs/app/fp/p/ap/ov/lang/en/ol/en/oc/us/pg/1/sn/n5:selfpaced/
You can go to each link, and within the links there is a link to add the product to the basket, so to speak.
Here is some more FYI, sometimes these links can be a bit hard to find.
Here is a link for the online courses.   http://sine.ni.com/tacs/app/fp/p/ap/ov/lang/en/ol/en/oc/us/pg/1/sn/n5nline/
Inside each link you can see the schedule for that course.
Also, at this link you can look over a schedule of courses for your area and online, it shows them all on one list.   http://www.ni.com/training/
Under the section "Build your knowledge with training", there is a link "find a course near you".   On my PC it defaults to my area.

  • Help for management software for datacenter

    Hi,
I'm working on open -source hobby project for managing datacenter. Shortly explained administrators enter information about the devices (servers, network equipment end etc.) and create file for every server. There are also billing scheduled task and etc.
The interface is written in PHP and the database will be Oracle XE.
I'm not experienced Oracle administrator. I'm Linux administrator. Would help me optimizing the database structure. I'll be glad if someone optimize the database structure. Here is the database structure.

It does not make a lot of sense to optimize a physical schema if you don't know how the schema is going to be used:

Design the data model with the goal of good performance
Typically, attempts to use generic data models result in poor performance. A well-designed data model answer the most common queries as efficiently as possible. For example, the data model should use the type of indexes that provide the best performance. Tuning after deployment is undesirable because changes to logic and physical structures may be difficult or impossible.

  • Gandhi quote for employees of any entity-and forum hosts

This is a genuine, well-known quote by Mahatma Gandhi, the Indian spiritual leader and activist:
    • A customer is the most important visitor on our premises, he is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him.
    • He is not an interruption in our work. He is the purpose of it.
    • He is not an outsider in our business. He is part of it.
    • We are not doing him a favor by serving him.     He is doing us a favor by giving us an opportunity to do so.
Employees of any entity, whether in government or in private business, will do well to keep it in mind and at heart.
The recent post by Kathy Nguyen, universally well received here, shows that she knows this principle and puts it into practice.
However, a few Adobe staff and associates seem somehow to think that Adobe's customers are lowly adversaries in some sort of Internet game or in a newsgroup.  Those who manifest that misguided and poisonous attitude in this forum and in their blogs are showing their incompetence and their ignorance of basic business principles.  To them I say:  you're dead wrong!  You are far from being our superiors, you are our servants.
They should know well who they are—and we certainly do.

I would like to reproduce here what I wrote in the 'What happened to the "Ghandi thread"?' thread, in an attempt to try to avoid that this one follows the same fate than the previous one...

It certainly was, at the beginning. Unfortunately, it soon became infected by off topic and "witty" comments. Finally there was a long series of abusive and I would say even insulting posts by the same person (I would say they were more than eight). I was one of the few persons to protest for this, but I don't think that removing the whole thread was the best solution.
I would therefore like to request Ramón to start the thread all over again, and fellow users to make an effort to keep on topic. As I have already said at least twice elsewhere, this Discussions forum is looking too much like a twin of the darkest part of the Lounge. I, at least, don't think it should be allowed so much lattitude, although I agree in that some amount of humour may help to alleviate what I see as a growing state of unwanted and unneeded confrontation.

  • Need a SCCM SQL Query Report for Installed Software with Packages and Applications.

I need a report that will show the number of installs of all of the workstations applications and packages over a given period of time.
This will let us know how effective our deployments are and how well the on-demand software is being adopted.
    Any help?

Your Install Source might be an option as most SCCM deployments will install from C:\Windows\ccmcache\xx [where xx is a random folder name]. Most software vendors will put an install source in the registry, but not all do, so it won't be completely accurate.
When software is installed manually, the install source path won't be C:\Windows\ccmcache\xx.
Here is a SQL query I have for Install Source:
SELECT v_GS_COMPUTER_SYSTEM.Name0 as 'Computer Name', v_GS_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.ProductName0 as 'Software Title', v_GS_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.InstallSource0 as 'Install Source', v_GS_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.ProductVersion0 as 'Version', v_GS_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.InstalledLocation0
as 'Installed Location', v_GS_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.InstallDate0 as 'Install Date'
    FROM v_GS_COMPUTER_SYSTEM INNER JOIN v_GS_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE ON v_GS_COMPUTER_SYSTEM.ResourceID = v_GS_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.ResourceID
    WHERE v_GS_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.ProductName0 like '%Office 365 Pro%'
    ORDER BY v_GS_COMPUTER_SYSTEM.Name0

  • Does iPod Classic 6th Gen support a headphone remote for pausing/playing, adjusting volume, and advancing the track?

I know that the 7th Gen does support this feature, and my iPod video (5th Gen) does not.

    The listing for Apple's EarPods
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD827LL/A/apple-earpods-with-remote-and-mic
under Compatibility, shows it supporting back to "iPod classic 120GB (2008)."
The official list of iPods does not actually name iPods after the 5th gen model by a "gen" name, but if you look at the list
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353
it is clear which one "iPod classic 120GB (2008)" refers to.  There is an earlier "iPod classic" ("6th gen") model from 2007 that is apparently NOT supported by the EarPods.  But it's possible that Apple's older headphones with remote control works with it.

  • Best information manager software?

I work as a reporter and often research large, sprawling investigative projects. I'm looking for the best information manager software out there, and am wondering what would work best. Here are the features I'm looking for:
-Allow me to me to easily attach a reference to a file (as opposed attaching a whole file, which would eat up a ton of space), AND allows me link to a particular section w/in a file (for PDFs, Word / RTF docs, web pages, etc.). Some sort of drag and drop feature would be great...
-It would be great if it would also allow me to attach a similar reference to sound files as well, such as WAV or MP3s -- for interviews.
-Interfacing w/ Spotlight and, if possible, Mailsmith, NetNewsWire, and FileMaker Pro (tricky, I know).
-Powerful searching capabilities, and searching options that will allow me to refine searches
-Indexes everything, builds cross-references, and allows extremely flexible input
-Encryption or some level of added security
I've heard people reference Devonthink Pro, Circus Ponies' Notebook, Yojimbo, and TopXNotes. Any suggestions?

I've heard MySQL is great for maximum flexibility in designing a database, but i've also heard it has a sharp learning curve and isn't very user friendly. Does it interface very well w/ other app's? What about Spotlight?
I currently use FileMaker Pro, but it doesn't interface w/ Spotlight or DEVONthink or...well, many app's actually. I tried downloading the most current version of Bento, but unfortunately it requires Leopard. Will see if I can find an earlier version to play around w/... In what way do you see DEVONthink as too confining? I'm tooling around w/ it right now and so far it seems pretty good, but I'd love to hear about it's shortcomings.
Thanks for your feedback! Any other suggestions / ideas...?

HIi Siddharth, thx for confirming, this was my guess.
It also appears that much of the new ECM analytics integrated with BW in EP5 is being moved under the TMS 1.51 (Talent Management Specialist) Application.
If they are moving ECM reports there, I don't understand why you would not just incorporate all the BSP links / folder structures so that  'BP Compensation Specialist 60.2' could be officially retired.

  • Lenovo Power Manager Software - MDT Task Sequence

I'm working in an environment which does Operating System Deployment via SCCM 2007 SP2 R2 with MDT 2010 Update 1 Integration.  I have an MDT Task Sequence that deploys my captured Windows 7 WIM file to predominantly Lenovo laptops (98% Lenovo fleet too).  Part of this Task Sequence uses rules to specifically target drivers and applications to individual models.  I'm am having GREAT difficulty in getting the Lenono Power Manager software (V3.31) to install as part of the Task Sequence.
The summary of the story is as follows:
    Lenovo Bluetooth software is installing OK (msiexec /i Win32\BTW.msi /t 1033.mst /qb-)
Lenovo Hotkey software is installing OK (SETUP.EXE /S)
I've put logs for the Power Manager installation, and there are no errors i.e. it "seems" to install OK (SETUP.EXE /S)
I can advertise the Power Manager software POST image and it installs and works OK
Applications in the Task Sequence run in the order of Power Manager, Bluetooth, Hotkeys.
That hopefully provides the information for someone to maybe shed some light.  It's a little frustrating given that the package actually will successfully install.  I'm almost to the point where I want to try and create a collection with rules to populate it with Lenovo laptops and then mandatory install it.  It's not a critical application - it would just be nice to have.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I did some more searching and found this method to do it - http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/1231-os-deployment-and-lenovo-computers/.  I used the idea of creating a Task Sequence step to copy the files locally, followed by a step to install it from the local files. It worked fine for this.  If anyone has a "cleaner" method though, let me know.

  • Solution Manager - EarlyWatch Alert shows red flag for managed system.

    Hi Guys,
I tried to fix EarlyWatch alert report for Managed systems of QA and Dev which showed red flag on SolMan in DSWP. While trying to generate BACK RFC Destination to SolMan for QA and Dev, it messed up the EarlyWatch alert reports of Prod which was successfully working upto this point. And now the red flag appears for Prod system on SolMan in DSWP instead of two bottle sign.
As for why Dev and QA did not work, I found out it was NONE internal RFC popped whenever I tried to choose the RFC to connect to SolMan while Prod which was working fine before always showed BACK rfc. That's why I tried to fix BACK rfc for Dev and QA.
Please help me to fix these EWA problems.

    Hi,
We identified an issue in AsyncOS 6.7.6-068 for Management that under certain circumstances can cause loss of historical reporting data when reporting groups are configured. To ensure a high quality release, further testing on our side is required.
6.7.6-068 is no longer available for upgrade to your M-Series appliances.
If you already upgraded to 6.7.6-068 we strongly recommend to disable group based reporting to avoid being affected.
We expect to release a new improved build of 6.7.6 shortly and apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this might have caused.
If you are required to upgrade to 6.7.6 before a new build is available, please contact Cisco IronPort Customer Support.
I'll let you know once the new build is available...
    Best Regards,
    Jakob

  • Itunes installer asking for Bluetooth Software.msi

    Hi:
Has anyone encountered this error? I downloaded the Itunes 6.0.4 version but everytime I try to install it the installer asks for "Bluetooth Software.msi" driver and refuses to install. Any ideas

    hiya!
hmmmmm. it's plausible that you're got another installer process "jammed on" on the PC, and that is interfering with the itunes install. (saw a bit of that with Logitech QuickCams in the early days of itunes 6.0.x.)
let's try applying the following technique, and trying the itunes install again:

  • Project/Task Management Software for iMac, iPad and iPhone

    Hi,
I work at a Espresso Bars company in Sydney and we have a small but busy Design & Marketing department.  We're looking for the best, yet simplest software so we can manage all the marketing and design projects.
I've seen a few good Online Management Software but they are quite expensive ($25+ per month per user).  The good thing about those systems is that you can access it from anywhere and people can collaborate, ask questions about a project, give feedback about a design, enter a new task or tick as completed, etc... And you can use it on an iMac, an iPad and an iPhone.
I came across Projector for iMac and iPad, but it is not online, if you want to share the project from iMac to iPad you have to conect your iPad to your computer and sync it.  It also works by projects, so there is no way for you to see in a single screen all the projects you're currently working on and the process of them.  So, although it being very user friendly and excellent UI, not sure if it is what we want.
I wanted to ask you if you know about another Project/Task Management Software that we can use on an iMac, iPad and perhaps and iPhone as well.  Something that you either buy the app once or if you have to pay a monthly fee it needs to be very low.  If it is online it would be much better! but everything would work I reckon.
User friendly and good UI software are preferred.
Thank you so much for your help!
    Cheers
