R GUI stops when I connect using ore.connect
Hi,
I am trying to connect to Oracle R Enterprise from R GUI windows 7 64 bit. I have ORE Package installed and loaded already. I am using R 2.15.3 version which is compatible with Oracle R Enterprise 1.3.1. Can you please tell me why R GUI stops as soon as I run ore.connect command in R?

I have Oracle 11g Database Server Enterprise Edition running on 32 Bit Architecture. (Installed in Windows Server 2008 OS.)
I have downloaded ORE Server, Client and Supporting Packages from "http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/options/advanced-analytics/r-enterprise/ore-downloads-1502823.html".

ORE Installation, Demo user creation done as per the Installation and Administration Guide. (ORE Version Installed is 1.3.1).
R Version Installed is 2.15.3 in Windows 7 Machine. Using 64 Bit R GUI and Loaded all the packages of Client and Supporting Packages.
In R GUI I started with library(ORE). This got loaded successfully. While I try to connect using ore.connect command RGUI stop working (Crashed) and terminated. I could not find any error information.
Only a popu is coming as "R for Windows GUI front-end has stopped working". Sent a Mail with few screen shots of RGUI 64 Bit as well as 32 Bit attached to '[email protected]' with Copy to "'[email protected]'".
Then I tried to use R GUI of 32 Bit edition, I could not Load Package "ROracle" & "OREdm". Getting below Error:

EJB Timer stops when database connection lost
G'day.
We use EJB Timers quite successfully in stateless session beans under Sun Java System Application Server 8.1 on Windows Server 2003.
We start and stop the timers for specific session beans using public intefaces on their respective beans. This works fine.
The problem we have is when the JDBC connection used by the EJBTimer service is dropped, such as when the remote database / machine falls over or (probably) when the network is lost. All the timers stop working at this point.
The timers do not restart when the database connection is restored either, despite the entries still being in the ejb__timers__tbl table.
If we stop and start the application server instance then they do restart.
We've looked at the setup of the timers but this seems to be pretty straightforward with no options that seem to influence this.
We've tried altering the JDBC connection validation settings but this doesn't seem to have made any difference.
Anyone have any ideas?

Email stops when I connect to Desktop Manager
I got a new 8520 recently and on Monday. Hooked it up to my PC and transferred all my Address Book Contacts & Calendar to the phone using Desktop Manager.
Next day I got the activation code from my company and put it in and hey presto I was getting emails. Next day I connected it back up to my PC to make some changes to my Calendar and after that the emails stopped.
I had to get a new activation code and it was back online however the day after that after I connected again to Desktop Manager it stopped receiving emails again. Back receiving emails again after getting another activation code.
Speaking to others in my company who have BB, they have said their contacts & calendar automatically update on the phone when they change it on their PC but it doesn't happen on mine.
Any ideas to help me out? Where am I going wrong?
After the first time I got the activation code and connected to the PC, it wouldn't sync the Address Book Contacts as it said it was set up for wireless synchronisation but I never set that up?Hello!
By "Activation Code", are you referring to Blackberry Enterprise Service (BES)? If so, you need to go see your BES admins for assistance as they control everything. Further, if you are on BES, there is no need to synchronize any of your Outlook data via the Desktop Software -- with BES, all of that synchronizes Over The Air (OTA)...that is one of the key benefits of BES. For me, the only use I have for the Desktop Software is to backup/restore my BB and update the installed applications...no data regarding Outlook needs to be reconciled via the Desktop Software.
On the other hand, if your configuration is not BES, then please clarify just what it is as I can't tell from what you've described so far.

Video capture stops when connected to FCP using fire wire
Captured video using Sony VX2000 using 48 khz and 16 bit audio stereo mode. Using Sony Premium miniDV tapes.
Video plays back fine when not connected via firewire to G4 dual 867 with 2 GB Ram.
Using default capture preset of 48 khz 16 bit, connect fire wire and video capture randomly stops stating it has lost connection or is missing capture data. If I switch to just plain capture using non controllable device, I have the same issue except the tape keeps playing but FCP stops capturing.
Tried other tapes and no problem.
Tried other fire wire cable and no problem.
I am having problems only on this tape and when connected.
When not connected it plays back on the camera with no stopping.

Dumping preferences usually does not cause problems. More likely you updated some part of your system or are having other hardware issues.
No updates or hardware issues. The original problem (discussed in another thread) was one where the video is skewed inward on the lower right corner. Apple instructed me to dump the preferences and start from scratch. That I did and now I am experiencing problems I did not have before. If it is hardware problems, then I guess it is just coincidental that FCP is just now presenting problems. However, the other problems I am having are software related and does not involve the camera.
What software versions of FCP, OSX and QT are you running and have you updated any of them recently?

Is there anything special about the 'difficult' tape?

Not sure. I buy bulk so this was one in a box of 5 that is was in a case of 50 boxes.

Not sure what you mean. I have only one MAC G4.
Was it recorded using another camera in a non-DV format?
No. Playback is through same camera is was recorded on. -

I am using wireless 4G Wireless Sierra dongle. I have a Mac Air. How can I stop the pop up screen trying to modify configuration when I connect. I can connect with no problems but I have to click 'cancel' (on pop up screen that says network needs to modify my configuration) sometimes as many as 50 times!!! very annoying as the pop up is in middle of screen & won't go away unless i click it. I wrote an AppleScript that asks me each time I connect the iPhone/camera/etc whether or not I want to open iPhoto. Usually I just hit return and it doesn't open, but once in a while I'll click Yes to open iPhoto and import videos from my phone. I just did it because it's nice to have a little reminder so I don't go for too too long without importing, but not have it slow things down each time I plug in.
Below is the script. Paste it into AppleScript Editor, then export it as an application. Then set Image Capture to open this app when you plug in your phone. Would love to hear if it's helpful for you or if you modify it to use other criteria to automatically import only at certain times or conditions.

My Computer crashes when i connect my Ipod. (Stop error, Blue Screen)
For the past 3 weeks, my computer has been crashing regularly-- and it's due to the iPod. When i connect my ipod, iTunes starts up and as soon as it starts to Sync, it "blue screen crashes (see message below). When i run iTunes w/o the iPod connected, no issues and i can also use my iPod no issues:

Are you using DHCP to allocate IP addresses via your router or Static IP allocation?
You may have an IP conflict in your network.
Check on your various network configuration parameters in your iPad, PC and WiFi router. -
I have a 3GS iphone. It was jailbroken and working alright.But I was not able to upgrade its IOS frrom 4.0.1 to higher versions and many applicatopns were not compatible with this version of the IOS. So I decided to do a factory unlocking. From an website, based in Mumbai, I unlocked it. When I check now in different websites from my IMEI number, my iphone is unlocked. So I became happy that I can now upgrade my iphone. But the events turned to be different.When I connected to iTunes, iTunes stopped working and my iphone did not appear in the iTunes. I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes after cleaning previous registry of all relatedd components like Quicktime, Bejour,Apple software updates and mobile softwares. I also used msconfig to troubleshoot conflicts in software of Windows 7 ultimate but still my iTunes is not working, when I connect the iphone. If I do not connect the iphone, iTunes is working alright. Can any friend give me some advice how to proceed. I do not like comments like Jailbreaking is illegal and should not have been done.
