R12 - Discard button - what does it do?

Hello,
Can someone telll me what the discard button on the lines form is used for? I have read on Oracle support that we need to use it for invoices that have tax or freight lines. Can we still use the reverse button on the distribution form if the invoice only had Item type lines?

Hi,
The Discard button will diacard the invoice line and marks line amount as zero.
The reverse distribution will be created and distribution total would be zero.
When invoice line is discarded the DISCARDED_FLAG will be 'Y' and AMOUNT will be zero for that line in AP_INVOICE_LINES_ALL table.

If you make an array of buttons, whats does the listener listen out for?

but would you have to define a long list of ints as variables to refer to for each specific actoin sequence?

What does discard mean when the NewAsyncTimer functions count elapses?

I have a PXI system with a PXIe8101 controller running with a real-time OS. I am having trouble with the asynchronous timer. I have a question about the count parameter in the function NewAsyncTimer(). The documentation says " Specifies teh number of timer events to be generated before the timer is automatically discarded."
What does it mean by "discarded"?
Does this mean it is "discarded" like when you call the function DiscardAsyncTimer() and it removes it from the list of existing timers?

I created my timer like this:
gRegCalMainLoopID = NewAsyncTimer (1e-03, -1, 0, RegCalProcessCntrlLoop, 0);
I belive this will set the priority to THREAD_PRIORITY_HIGHEST (2).
Since I set the initialState parameter to 0 it should not make call the call back function until I set teh ASYNC_ATTR_ENABLED to 1.
I send a command to do this and it makes this call:
  timerStatus = SetAsyncTimerAttribute( gRegCalMainLoopID,ASYNC_ATTR_ENABLED,1); // this starts the timer interrupt
My problem is the timer function is never called with teh event = to EVENT_TIMER_TICK.
Here is my timer callback function:

It does seem that the timer will be discarded in the same way as DiscardAsyncTimer meaning that the timer will no longer be registered or active after being called a specific number of times. Is there a specific aspect of the count parameter that you are curious about?
For Real Time systems a priority level of 2 is not necessarily the Highest Priority Thread and more information can be found in the help topic NewAsyncTimerWithPriority.
Have you seen if you are able to capture the Event Discard event as well?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. What happens to the slideshow other than giving you this error. Don't know what it means. However, several users have reported iPhoto crashing when trying to export a slideshow. You might search this forum for that to see if you're experiencing something similar. As far as I know there was no fix found.
Be sure to report it to Apple via via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html.

hi the older button could be set to either "force portrait mode" or "silent mode". now you can do both in the iOS control center (swipe from the bottom of the screen), so the need for a button isn't needed anymore.

Yes you are correct.Well i would change my previous statement :
EXCEL/Word Processing is not to open a BLANK SHEET, but to open an EXCEL/WORD document and paste the ALV output data into the Sheet. You have several option when you click on EXCEL. You can paste the ouput as a PIVOT TABLE in excel sheet or Excel SAP Macros or a normal table.
Open program <b>BCALV_FULLSCREEN_GRID_EDIT</b> in SE38 and execute it. Click EXCEL. And follow the directions. It will copy paste the code from the ALV output into Excel/Word File.
The difference in EXPORT is that in EXPORT, you can download it in different formats ( VIz. excel, text etc ) without any formatting ( COlors etc.). But in the EXCEL button case, the data is copied and has different colours for columns etc.

What does the chain/link button in Logic instruments do?

I'm a new user of Apple MacBook Pro and MainStage v2.2.2 for music ministry work. Found the Logic Software Instruments and some useful documentation about the interface and programming for each, but no mention thus far of the two lines of controls that MainStage adds to the top of each.
First line is blue chain/link button - no rollover help, no F1 help, no right click context menu/help, no nothing. The pulldown items on that line and the stuff on line 2 is fairly obvious. What does that little chain link button do? Every one of the software instruments seems to have the button present.

Okay. I tried your experiment. Double click on ES P button in channel strip and up pops the ES P software instrument. Click on link button -- on is blue, I see -- and double click on EXS24 button in another channel strip. EXS24 window pops up, with the link button still blue/on, replacing the ES P window. Turn off link button and open another software instrument and it joins the EXS24 on the screen.
I now know what the button does, and that was my entire reason for posting, but your first sentence now has me curious. You wrote, "The Link function is not obvious in MS, but essential in Logic." It wasn't obvious because it's not documented, that I can find, in MS help, MS User Guide or Logic Pro 9 Instrument documentation. No rollover tip. Zip, squat, nada. When you contrast "obvious" with "essential," do you mean the feature is not relevant in MS? I'm not looking for a Logic tutorial, but I did find the feature mentioned in that product's manual. I just want to know what, if anything, I need to do with this in MS.

Generally it is not a good idea to be poking around in the System Folder, trying to second guess files and plist. There are literally 1000's of files in your System Folder you will have no idea why they are there.
If you want to do house keeping stick to your username folder. Therefore any damage done is limited to your user account.

Did you try >SystemPreferences>EnergySaver. Make configuration changes here.

What does the Smart Cover do? Shut it off or just standby as the lock button?

Is the Smart Cover any must to have? Isn’t standby/turn off/lock the iPad 2 with the Smart Cover the same as pressing the lock button? What does it really do the Smart Cover to the system?

The smart cover puts the iPad to sleep when it's over the screen, as soon as you lift it up it turns on. You can also use it to prop up your iPad

What does "The iPod "Buttons" could not be synced...." mean?

Everytime i plug my iPod in to my computer this warning comes up:
"The iPod “Buttons” could not be synced. The required file is in use."
(Yes my iPod IS called Buttons, sad I know).
What does this mean, does it mean that it isn't updating it?

Ana Candano, what is your Aperture version? Earlier Aperture versions - until Aperture 3.2.4 had colored icons, Aperture 3.3 and later are gray in gray. Do you have two versions of Aperture installed?
When you post back, list your version of MacOS X and the versions of any Aperture.app you can find with Spotlight on your Mac.
