  • No More Resource problem

    Hi:
I have a J2EE application using Connection Pool and JDBC.
I am using Weblogic 6.1 and JDK 1.3.1.
I am running into a 'No More Resource' problem. I did some debugging and think the cause is due to all my 80 database connections are used up so no new connection is available. But all the 80 connections shouldn't be used up because I did the statement.close() and rs.close() in the finally{} statement in all my DAO methods. But it seems like the connections are not released back to the free pool.
I thought I read something that I might need to do a conn.close() too in order for the connections to be returned to the pool and marked as available. Don't the statement.close() do that? Thanks for any help!
    Stella

Any resolution on this? We're getting the same problem - using weblogic 6.1 and jdk131. We should never reach the max # of connections specified in the pool but periodically we do. Scraped through all the code and confirmed that for every connection we call ResultSet.close; Statement.close; Connection.Close in the finally block of the try/catch statements. But we still periodically reach the max. It's sporadic so we can't reproduce. Also, after we get the error and we check the weblogic console, we see the # of active connections drop back down below the max capacity (we have shrinking turned on). Any ideas?
    thx.

I seem to be having problems with Flash Player in all my browsers when watching streaming videos. Flash Player tends to hoard a very large percentage (often 100%) of my CPU resources.  The effect on my computer is frame loss. I do not have this problem on web video like netflix. • K9N Platinum onboard ethernet resource problem

I am having a problem getting my onboard ethernet to work on the MSI K9N Platinum motherboard.
The device manager is giving me Error Code 12 which stands for Not enough available resources.
I have tried everything short of reinstalling Windows to get this resolved.  This is a fresh windows install.  Right after the install I installed the chipset drivers.  Since then I have reinstalled the drivers, disabled anything that I am not using in the device manager, and even disabled everything but the onboard lan and IDE controller in the bios.  Nothing has worked.
Does anybody know what I could do to get the onboard ethernet to work?
    Specs:
    AMD AM2 3800X2
    MSI K9N Platinum (non-SLI)
Old Nvidia PCI graphics card (X1800XT is not working)
Western Digital IDE 80 gig hard drive
    Generic DVD burner
    XCLIO 450 watt power supply

Did you use the "Load Optimized Defaults" in cmos settings before win-install.
Sounds to me windows didn't install the correct HAL ,meaning you may have had wrong bios settings for ACPI & MPS.
This worked.  I just did a repair install of windows after loading optimized defaults in bios.  Thanks for the help.

Increase the max. count on JDBC Connection pool, also as a good practice close

We currently have no noticeable performance issues, but would just like to know what these errors mean and if they are indicative of potential issues.

Im an Oracle guy - not the SA type -
But on ours - the SA configured this cluster incorrectly. We use veritas. instead of making ipmp groups for the interfaces - he built the cluster according to veritas docs. That is - he has two publics - on difference interfaces and different privates on different interfaces. oracle can only two interfaces - no matter if its a ipmp group or a device name. one is used for private- the other is used for public - So sure the veritas cluster filesystems will survive - but the Oracle Cluster will not - nodes will reboot -
Is your system set up incorrectly as i described above? if it is - a quick test would be - turn down the other interfaces - and only leave the two interfaces you mention above up that you configured for Oracle CRS
This other sharp sa was able to go through the arp table and see duplicate IPs - and the routing was attempted via an interface that oracle doesnt see. You can not define two different interfaces public - and two different interfaces for private -

  • 10 G Rac reinstall problem,How to unregister VIP manully?

    NODE NAME: rac1 rac2 rac3 .
I was removed rac3 from the cluster.
Now 2 nodes working and i'm trying to re-add the dropped one into the cluster.
I check crs_stat ,ifcfg ,olsnodes .There's no rac3 infomation any more.
But when i trying to run addNode.sh I got the problem
In step 2,"Specify Cluster Nodes to Add to Installtion"
I found rac3 in the Existing Node List ,*without* private-node-name and virtual host name!!!
well,i tried "srvctl modify nodeapps -node rac3 -A "to modify rac3 configuration. it works. rac 3 in the Existing Node List with a private-node-name and virtual host name now .
But when i go back to install page i must to Specify a new Node to go to next step....
So, could any one help me ?or tell me how to remove the residual information of VIP? I don't want to DD OCR ...

  • Oracle RAC - network problem between nodes

    Hi all,
    I have the following configuration:
Two guests operation systems CentOS 4.8 (installed).
The host is Windows XP (where is installed the VMWare Server 2).
Oracle 10.2.0.1 and Oracle Clusterware (Not installed Yet, trying)
I've created two VMs (RAC1 and RAC2) on VMware Server2 for Oracle 10g RAC.
Each VM has 2 network adapters:
    eth0: public
    eth1: private
But, Into RAC1, when I try a ping to RAC2, I got the error destination host unreachable.
The subnet and the net mask is OK, I've set the /etc/hosts.
From my Host PC, I cannot to perform ping to RAC1 and RAC2 too.
I've tryed to set the ethernet to hostonly and bridged, but I got the same problem.
Is there any configuration we need to do?
    thank you very much!!!!

From my Host PC, I cannot to perform ping to RAC1 and RAC2 too.Make sure you have both nodes in the network and must be under same subnet mask.
Is it mandatory the ethernet adapter of host is connect to a network? If its not in the network how you are going to access?

  • RAC Installaton problem

    Hi every one ,
I am installing oracle rac for two nodes , when I reach to the step of running root.sh
    I got the folowing :
    $./root.sh
WARNING: directory '/opt/oracle/product/10.2.0' is not owned by root
WARNING: directory '/opt/oracle/product' is not owned by root
WARNING: directory '/opt/oracle' is not owned by root
Checking to see if Oracle CRS stack is already configured
Setting the permissions on OCR backup directory
    Setting up NS directories
Failed to upgrade Oracle Cluster Registry configuration
any one has an idea about this problem
    thanks in advance.

This part is normal but oracle cluster registry configuration should be successful.
    Verify your cluster configuration.

  • RAC - srvctl problem

We have two node Windows Advanced server 2000 RAC setup.
srvctl command show status of the database on first node.
whereas it is not showing any output on second node.

Can you let us how to solve this problem.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi
as per u error it means it will fail to communicate with other node in cluster, and i think cluster is not properly working.
    Try a test:-
shutdown the first node and check whether this node(where gsdctl show error)
are able to perform recovery of fail node ,check alert log file and post it here.
    also check log file
    $ORACLE_HOME/srvm/log

  • RAC CRS problem

    Hello All,
I'm using RAC on a 2 node cluster on Red Hat Linux AS4. Today when I started the cluster and gave
    root@node7]#/cw/oracle/bin/crs_stat -t
    NAME Type Target State Node
    ora.node7.gsd application ONLINE UNKNOWN node7
    ora.node7.ons application ONLINE UNKNOWN node7

    ora.node8.gsd application ONLINE UNKNOWN node8
    ora.node8.ons application ONLINE UNKNOWN node8
    ora.node8.vip application ONLINE ONLINE node8
    root@node7]#/cw/oracle/bin/crsctl check crs
    CRS appears healthy
    CSS appears healthy
    EVM appears healthy
I'm a rookie to RAC. I don't understand if I can go ahead from the above mentioned.
    Please guide me .
    Regards,
    Raj

Did you tried altering OCR or any other resouce permissions.
    check OCR dump and see.
any how you can try starting the ons and gsd manually using onsctl and gsdctl.
see if they throw any error.
see the resource rac logs for any issues encountered during start by crs.

  • RAC Performance problem

    Hi,
I configured 2-node RAC on Linux .But bench marks are surprising me.If i test the RAC with Loadbalace i'm getting 170 Transactions/sec.But,If i test the RAC with Single instance i'm getting 270 Transactions/sec.Could any one help me to solve this problem

    Hi,
    Have you got the answer?
I have the same problem. Someone told me that RAC of Oracle8i was a hoax, he doubted Oracle9i improved RAC performance very much. I would rather not believe what he said, however, the test result of Oracle9i RAC on Compaq cl380 was so disappointed. I think there must be some bottlenecks that affect RAC performance. and I hope some technical guys from Oracle can come out to explain it.

  • Cannot Erase Macbook HDD (Resource problem)

Going to switch on my Macbook this evening, I found it hanging at the Apple Logo. This being familiar from my recent iMac problems I booted from the Leopard install disc, ran Disk Utility and discovered "node errors"
Not to worry, I'd just backed up, so could restore from the Time Capsule. Checking that the archive existed I proceeded to select "Restore" from the Leopard DVD. Failed on Erase.
Restarting I tried to erase using Disk Utility. Input/Output error.
Booting as a firewire Target Disk got a different error when trying to erase. Resource Unavailable.
I've tried rebooting, erasing, repartitioning. Every time is either "Input/Output" error or "Resource" error.
    Any help?

I've just run a few tests on my machine. I've been getting similar errors to yours using the hardware test. I've done some digging and I agree- probably bad memory.
I just picked up a 4gig upgrade (less than two weeks ago)- patriot memory from Fry's.
I ran the first few tests with this memory installed and that's when I get the errors similar to yours. When I pulled the memory and installed the RAM my MBP came with I get "no trouble found" on both the standard and the extended test. I guess I should have seen the trouble sooner when the new RAM didn't seem make a difference.
I'll probably take it the local Apple Store, but I think it's safe to say it's the RAM that's causing the issues.
