Radio spectrum measurements with USRP

Hello everybody,
I am using the attached VI for real-time spectrum measurements. However, i need to save the data after averaging is done and restart the averaging in order to save the data for the next time instant. Is there any suggestion on how to do it?
I am not sure if this approach is the right one for obraining spectrum meassurement at different time instants so if there are any other suggestions feel free to share.

Hi Elhatzi,
As you want to save a spectrum to file, you would need to save the entire spectrum for each time instant as you cannot simply stream time data to a file as you would with something like DAQ-mx. Have you tried using a TDMS file and storing each spectrum in a seperate channel? This would allow you to store one spectrum for each time instant, however this could be quite disk space intensive if you are saving an entire spectrum very often. You could change the channel name each time with the string VI's then write to that channel to get this functionality.

Power Density Measuring with Spectrum Expert

Hi All, does anyone have experiences with measuring of Power density S with the Cisco Spectrum Expert? I know that there is no direct way to do so, but is there a Formula or Algorithm to convert dBm in mW/squaremeter? I know that some of the Guys who makes their Money with that use the Rohde & Schwartz FSH 6 combined with a special calibrated Antenna and a simple Excel sheet for Conversion. Is such a Table available for Cicso Spectrum Expert with the delivered Antenna? Thanks for every Hint, Regards, Michael

BER of wireless modulation with USRP

Hi there
I have a trouble in measuring the BER of BPSK with 2 USRPs, one for Tx, and the other for Rx. The trouble is that the results are different from the simulation.
The VIs are included in the "Digital Wireless Communication: Physical Layer Exploration Lab using the NI USRP".
Attached are screen shots of signal consteration of both simulation and experiment with USRP.
I would appreciate any comments on the matter.

hi i have same doubt i have MIMO transmitter
but i am transmitting 4 contellation sizes from 4 antennas ,they are 16-QAM,8-QAM,16-QAM,32-QAM
my modulation scheme is QAM
my MIMO receiver has to demdulate these antennas data with different constellation sizes
i want demodulate data from these 4 antennas using QAM demodulator
how it will be possible

Spectrum Analyzer with Tracking Generator - do I have what it takes?

Hi Guys and Gals,
I need to profile the response of some filters in an ultrasonic bit of hardware. I've been told that a Spectrum Analyzer with a Tracking Generator will do what I want in a short space of time, but I don't have one. Problem is I don't know what a spectrum analyzer is (beyond the obvious - analyses the frequency spectrum response).
I have a 100MHz Arbitrary Function Generator under LV control and I have a LeCroy 600MHz Oscilloscope under LV control and I know a bit about writing LV.
The question is, can I use the AFG, the Oscilloscope and LabVIEW to make myself a Spectrum Analyzer to do the job?
Any suggestions or pointers gratefully received.

I believe a Network Analyzer will be of use to you, and fortunately you have the makings of one. A NA will tell you the amplitude and phase response. The easiest thing to do is to split the signal from the AFG (use a T) and send one signal straight to the scope and the other to the input of the DUT (device under test). Connect the DUT output to the second channel of the scope. Simply measure the ratio of the amplitudes and the relative phase of the two channels and you are all set. The scope probably has these functions built in, otherwise acquire the time series and let LabVIEW do the work (you can also take the power spectrum if you really want a spectrum analyzer). If you want to be careful, make sure that the cable lengths in the two paths are equal, but at ultrasonic frequencies I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Here i need to measure the time/no edges between two edges. Falling to Raising of two signals.
I got the measurement with internal time base.
here i need to synchronize the measurements with external clock from the external setup.
so i need to use that external clock,timebase for the counters.
Any solution please..

First, the VI you mention is NOT for STC timer/counters. Therefore, it won't work.
If you want to get the time interval between two edges, you want to use the Functions -> Data Acquisition -> Counter -> Count Events or Time VI. This will do the function you are looking for.

Unit of measure with language Key

Hello Guruz,
WHile creationd of purchase order, there is a check kept which compares the vendor communication language which gets updated in the Po header - Communucation tab with Db table T006A which holds the Unit of measurements with Language Key and pops up an error message.
It cheks the order unit in the PO, and the T006A whether the unit is maintained in the Language key as in the PO header - Communiction tab.
But while creating a unit of measurement in CUNI, we dont have the option to maintain the language key for the UOM.
In CUNI, it defaults the language key as EN in table T006A.
I need a prompt support from you guys on this issue. Please suggest how to go about with this?

When i am trying to go for the language key in CUNI, it says that the said language is 'not available in server'. I guess it is checking whether the language patch is updated in the server.
But it doesn't sound logical to maintain all the unit of measurements in all the vendor languages. Suppose if we are having vendors with 75 communication languages and we are having 50 units os measurements, so does that mean that we have to maintain units of measurements 75 X 50 times ?
Kindly provide your inputs on the issue. We are facing lots of issues with this control kept in PO header checking for the T006A with the vendor communication language.

this should work in JDeveloper 11.1.1.3 the same as in 11.1.1.2. If it doesn't then it is better to file a bug than to work around it

In the DAQmx 9.4 Readme the following is stated:

Could anyone elaborate on this? I am particularly interested in knowing under what circumstances this problem arises for the 6602 PCI devices.
How should I understand 'NI 660x and NI 6624 on counters 0 and 1'. Is it only a problem on counter 0 and 1 for the 660x or does this only apply for the 6624 devices.

Personal recruitment How to do new measure with function call Update IT4000

Hi out there and happy new year to forum,
i want to update to implement a recruitment measure (Transaction PB40). I did it already with batch input, but i guess it's much more comfortable to do with funtion module, bapi or calsses.
After choosing the measure, the infogroup will be processed. So i guess, i just have to use the corresponding function modules to update the infotypes in a given sequence. is this suggestion right?
What are these function modules? How to update f.e. IT4000? Does anyone has a coding snippet?
Is it HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION?
In our Infogroup there are also customer specific infotypes f.e. 9***. Can I use the sap standard function modules for "own implemented" infotypes?
I also appreciate an abap oo pattern or any similar....

Exporting set of measures with aliases into essbase cube

We were wandering if there is an easy way to import bunch of measures with aliases into Essbase cube rather then entering them one by one?

Simplest way, would be to create a spreadsheet with the Measures and alias listed in column format.
You can organize them in Generation, Level or Parent-Child format.
Create a dimension load rule that maps the columns to properties in Essbase.
When you want to modify the Measures dimension layout, change the spreadsheet and rerun the load rule.

Error "CONVT_NO_NUMBER" while performing user measurement with USMM

Hi,
While running user measurement with USMM I am getting following run
time error.
To be specific - After preselections in USMM->system measurement->while
checking Green Check mark this error is screaming up.
Ae per Note - 1230640 :- You call transaction USMM and want to cancel
the user measurement using the cancel button (red 'X') on the dialog
box of the user measurement. However, the measurement continues and is
completed as if you had chosen the ok button (green check mark).
Above note is applied if the problem comes if we check red button
rather than green check mark.
Please suggest us the best way to procees.

FM Radios are available on a limited Curve model even Bold and Toruch Models don't have that , I believe 9380 don't have any FM Radios as per this official page http://worldwide.blackberry.com/blackberrycurve/9380/curve_specifications.jsp and this website http://www.gsmarena.com/blackberry_curve_9380-4331.php .
Again , regarding Mobile Hotspot feature , This feasture depends on your Carrier and the service plan you have . If your Carrier supports Mobile Hotspot and you have the required plan then you'll see the same under Manage Connection . If you're not getting this feature then it is not something which you can Install from app world But you should call your Carrier Digicel to know further . For the same reason my car hasn't got in-dash satnav, leather upholstery or a six litre engine. Because that's how the manufacturer chose to make it. If you are unhappy with the specs, don't buy one.
There is no information regarding any new iPhone.
