Radio station playlists

Anyone know where to find the lists of radio station playlists? I saw it once several months ago in iTunes but have not been able to find it since...Thanks.

Hmmm...I checked things out and that button is already selected in my preferences.
There used to be a place on iTunes where you could view the playlists for any radio station in the country (selecting by city, then station). Or so I thought. Thanks for your thoughts!

  • Synching Internet Radio Stations Playlist with ATV - Doesn't always work!

I'm having some challenges with ATV Take 2 and itunes 7.6.1 to synch a playlist that contains internet radio stations. I can get it to work when I first sync ATV to iTunes, but then within a few hours, the playlist does not remain synched, and when accessed through ATV, it gives a message to the effect that "there are no songs in this playlist". The only way to fix the problem is to re-synch ATV, which is a pain.
Has anybody successfully set up a playlist containing internet radio stations in iTunes and managed to keep it synched in ATV Take 2?

I am having the same problem. This is one of the features that I was really excited about

  • Paste radio station playlists into podcast fields - searchable?

    Hi,
The radio station I listen to, WFMU, has lots of podcasts. They also have detailed playlists printed on their website. I would like to copy and paste those playlists into one of the fields in iTunes but so far I haven't found an appropriate one that is searchable and will also fit all this info. (Shows are from one to three hours long.) So far the "lyrics" and ""Comments" fields, the largest and most logical places to paste this info into for me, aren't working when I search for something in them. The info does fit into both of those fields though.
What field should I past these LONG playlists into so that the individual songs can be searched on and found and will fit and be appropriate?
    Thanks.

  • Radio Station Playlists for Car Use

How do you get the iPod Stations that you use for your car radio? I had them, but they went into my "songs" playlist, and every time I sync it up in my car and it shuffles to the next song, it goes to another radio station and messes it up so I have to do it all over again...
Isn't there a way to do it so that the station frequencies don't go into your "songs" playlist?

Meg is correct; radio station charts were removed from the iTunes Store almost a year ago. Sorry.

  • Radio station playlist not showing up in Playlist folder

    Hello,
    I am using iTunes 10.2.1.1
I have a Playlist Folder titled Night. In this folder i have a Smart Playlist containing any podcasts where plays = 0. This allows me to listen to all of my new podcasts for each day.
Also in the Folder is a playlist titled Radio, in which i have a radio stream.
When i click on the Playlist Folder however, only the Podcasts show up in the view. I have had this working before where it would show all new Podcasts and then the radio stream but now for some reason it is no longer working correctly.
Can anyone help get it back to correctly displaying my new podcasts PLUS the radio stream when i click the Playlist Folder?

  • Apple TV 2 shows Playlisted Radio Station Genres under Music.

It's more annoying than anything else, but Apple TV and Apple Remote show Radio Station Genres while browsing Music Genres on my PC library. Naturally, when you select that Genre the either device reports 'No Songs' in the libray.
In order to remember three Internet Radio Stations, I dragged them into a Playlist titled Radio Stations on my PC library. As a result, those 'odd' Genres now show up under Music as described above when using Apple TV to access my library or using Apple Remote on my iPhone to access my library.
I guess the only way to stop seeing those Radio Station Genres is to delete the Radio Station Playlist, but then that sort of defeats the purpose of using that function for when I'm sitting in front of my PC.
Am I missing a simple solution?
    Thanks.

    Thanks, Gino.
I was thinking that would be the case.
It is odd, however, that when I use Apple Remote to control the Apple TV and use 'Computers' to access my PC library rather than swipe 'Control' (or the Apple TV remote itself), the Music Genres show up correctly; as in without displaying the Radio Station Genres!
It's when I control my PC library directly with Apple Remote or access my PC library with Apple TV that the Radio Station Genres appear under Music.
It does seem a bit inconsistent and a not intuitive.
    Oh, well. Thought I'd ask!

  • How do you search radio stations?

In iTunes 10, I had a playlist called "All Radio Stations". I created it by opening a genre under the radio heading (i.e. Adult Contemporary, Alternative Rock, etc.), copying every radio station in that genre, and pasting it into my "All Radio Stations" folder. I did that with every genre, until I had every radio station accounted for in my playlist. Then, I could search for a particular station by name rather than trying to guess which genre it might be listed under. Then, I created a couple smaller playlists with my favorite radio stations.
Then, I updated to iTunes 11 which, surprisingly, created albums (each listed as "unknown album") of my radio station playlists. I don't want these radio station playlists to be treated as albums for 3 reasons: (1) they are not albums; (2) it causes iTunes to hang for up to a minute when I select one under album view; and (3) I don't want it to be included when shuffling all songs or albums.
Is there a better way, perhaps a script, that allows one to search for radio stations by name?
Is there a way to create a playlist of radio stations without iTunes automatically turning it into an album?
Why didn't Apple make it possible to search for radio stations on iTunes by their call letters?

After a little experimentation, I have discovered that creating a playlist of radio stations causes an "unknown album" to be created, and any additional playlists of radio stations that you create are then automatically added to that "unknown album", as if they were songs on that album. Radio station playlists are not albums, and should not be represented as such.
Also, I would still like to be able to search for radio stations on iTunes, whether by call letters, name of the station, or perhaps by words included in the description of the station. Apple lets you search like this is your playlists, albums, songs, podcasts, movies, etc. this way, but not radio stations.

  • Is there a way to mark favorites radio stations?

Whether I'm using the ATV Radio app or iTunes radio playing to ATV, it seems I have to navigate to my favorite stations each time.  Is there a way to mark your favorite radio stations to make it easy to flip around?
    Thanks.

Although I make great use of Apple TV, iPeng handles radio and favourites (whether radio stations, playlists, albums or songs) very much better.
In my case, I use iPeng to direct my tunes, radio, etc., through a Logitech Squeezebox, but there some options to use iPeng to play through Apple TV via an iPad or iPhone, although I've found this not as fast or responsive as through the Squeezebox.

  • Why did I lose the path to my Radio Station presets?

I save iTunes radio stations to a playlist so I can have all of the radio stations I enjoy listening to in one playlist.  I went to this playlist today and double-clicked on a few radio stations and nothing happened!  I went back to the master Radio Station list and was able to double-click on one of the stations that I have in my playlist and it played normally.
My question is, what happened to the paths of the saved stations in my Radio station playlist, and why did these stations not play?  I've resigned myself to having to reload all the radio stations back into this playlist, but I haven't been able to find anything online out about this specific issue.  Thanks in advance.

I also discovered the same problem. However, I've also found that many of the stations I've listened to for years are suddenly gone, not even in the master Radio Stations list. Why are they gone, and what does it take for stations to be available on iTunes, I could never figure out why the selection is so limited..

  • How do I manage radio stations in a different playlist other than itunes's main library?

First of all, I don't remember having this problem before. Second, for being apple's flagship software product, it's still really really buggy, but I digress.
In anycase I have some radio stations that I want to put into a play list on itunes. The problem is that they show up in my main music library as well, this is an issue when I just want to listen to my playlist and they pop up. I want my radio stations to be contained differently from my main music stash. As I said earilier, I don't remember this being like this before. Pretty much, ever since apple change the iTunes icon, I've been less and less thrilled about the changes being made to itunes.
    Sincerly,
(Someone who is Grumbling about how itunes doesn't handle album art very well, and gets annoyed when itunes inadvertanly delete's it.)

This question is no longer relevant. I now have a wonderful MacBook Pro and am happy using iTunes

  • How to save the radio station you just listened as a playlist?

Make a save radio station button.. to listen them as a playlist later.

Please!! One of, if not the, main reason I got Premium is to be able to use this on my phone in offline mode.  I love the Offline feature of spotify, but is limited to playlists.  Usually I end up adding a public playlist of the genre I'm interested in, but can be tedious and oftentime will have too few or too many songs for me to sync with my phone to listen while I'm out and about and not use up my phone's data plan.
If a random sample of music from a station could be added as a playlist, this would make Spotify about perfect for me.  Say being able to choose 10, 25, 50, 100, 300 songs, or something like that.  An option to randomize again when syncing would be great too, so I could do that over wifi. Also, I have a Roku attached to my TV/Sound System, and it only supports playlists and not radio, so this is another reason, although both would be great :)
I love where you guys are heading!  I use you on my iPhone, Android tablet, PC, and Roku.  Haven't touched Pandora in at least 6 months...why bother?

  • Please walk me thru creating a playlist in iTunes for internet radio stations

Please walk me thru creating a playlist in itunes specifically for internet radio. The itunes help page is not detail enough.

    Create a new playlist
    Open iTunes
Click the + button in the lower left corner of the window.
    Name your playlist
    Add radio stations:
On the left side of the iTunes window, at the top is the "Library" group. Under "Library" should be an item called "Radio." Click that to open the radio listings. If you do not see "Radio" in iTunes, go to the menu bar at the top of your screen and open iTunes > Preferences. In the preferences window, under the General tab, make sure Show > Radio is checked and click OK.
Find a station in the Radio listing.
Drag that station from the listing on the right side of the window to the new playlist you created on the left side, and drop.
You now have a playlist with a streaming radio station in it.
To add stations not listed in the iTunes radio listings:
Locate the stream URL (if you need further help, post which radio station you want exactly)
Copy the URL to your clipboard (command+C)
    open iTunes
In the menu bar at the top of your screen, click on Advnaced > Open Stream...
    Paste the URL (command+V)
    Click OK
Your new radio stream should now appear in a playlist called "Internet Songs." Open that playlist.
Drag the station from the Internet Songs playlist into your own playlist.

  • How to keep radio stations out of a smart playlist?

how to keep radio stations out of a smart playlist

A cleaner solution is to create a playlist with your running albums, then update the other smart playlists with "Playlist" not in "Running Albums".
That way, you don't need to update each and every playlist when you add a new running album, you just need to put it in the Running Albums playlist.

  • ITunes doesnt show radio stations in playlist

I've recently run upgrades on both iTunes (7.6.1) and Quicktime (7.4.1) and now I cannot see any radio stations in the Library. There is nothing at all in the radio window.
Has anyone else experienced this problem. Currently running Tiger 10.4.11.
I've upgraded to Tiger 10.4.11 at home without updating iTunes or Quicktime and there has been no problem.

I noticed the same thing on my radio playlist containing my favorite stations. Not sure if this happened with the latest iTunes update. Have not found a solution other than recreating the list. I am using iTunes 10.6.3 and Snow Leopard on a Mac Mini
