Random application object lost in Portal

Hi people,
I'm having a problem with the application object.
Some times, in a random way, i'm losing the state of the application object between request's.
This appens when I'm using the BSP application in the SAP Portal.

Hi,
the problem is that in the url I pass a parameter that in the bsp page copy to an attribute of the application.
Then in the controler i try to read this value and it is empty, all the information in application object is lost.
This appens during one single request.
I have several Iviews pointing to the same BSP application, the diference between the content that is shown is controled by the parameter passed in the URL.
Is it possible that while navigating between iviews, the info in the BSP application is mix up. Something like the aplication start (iview open) and then been close (previous iview close)?

The location of the new Java class file determines whether other applications can reference the classes. Generally, the choice is only meaningful when defining services and the interfaces to make available to those applications the reference the service.
You can specify one of the following:
■ Core (default): Places the file in the src.core project directory, and makes it private.
■ API: Places the file in the src.api, and makes it public.

How to show Crystal Reports in BW system to Business Object XI R3 Portal

Hi All
I have some Crystal Reports in BW system and want to call them on Business Object XI R3 Portal.
Lets say that there are x number of reports in the system.
I need to show them on BO Portal by passing some parameters.
I am not able to start that how I can show them.
I followed one tutorial on Cystal Report for Eclipse and I was able to make a Crysral Report for Web Application.That was deployed successfully. I got one URL to run that.
But now if I want to add this link in my existing BO Portal how can I do that.
Can anyone help me in that, that how to proceed.

Thaks for your reply!I wanted to inform you also that I don't have installed PDK on my PC - I only have the Sneak Preview.
-I wondered if creating Portal Application Object/Projects has to do something with PDK or it is part on WebDynpro way to develop Portals?
-My goal is to be able to develop Portal without using WebDynpro methodology- instead I want to be able to use and learn the other methodology - which seems to me is called PDK -if I am correct?
-If I am not wrong I will need to install PDK6.0 to use the second methodology ?
-Is Enterprise Portal Perspective on NWDS used in this case or it is used in both cases when developing Portals ?
-I is not much clear which tools as a developer are needed in both cases ?
If one can clarify this basic concept it will be very useful.
I clearly want to distinguish between both way of developing portals.

0TCT_DS01 Missing BI Application Object

I've activated BI Technical Content and loaded 0TCT_C01. When I run queries from the portal (via std web template 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN), listcube on 0TCT_MC01 only shows the BI Application (i.e 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN) but not the BI Application Object (i.e Query Name).
I'm currently on ABAP SP16 and have applied the following patches:
1115531 - Error in statistics recording on the Web in the BEx Analyzer
1134456 - UTC Time Stamp is incorrect in cubes 0TCT_C01,2,3 for MDX
1138874 - BIAC User wait times no longer included in Front End times
1150872 - BIAC De-implementation of SAP Note No. 1091820
1152320 - BIAC Wrong OLAP time in query Runtime Statistics
1160506 Dump while executing InfoPackage 0TCT_DS01, DS02, DS03
1302812 - BI Application object name does not appear in the output

During the installtion of 0TCT_MC01, set the grouping to Before and After and check if the Queries are avilabel.If they are not active actiavte them.

Save Hashtable in application object

Hi,
I have a very annoying bug that I have no idea where is it coming from.
I'm saving a large Hashtable object( 3100 entries).
The hash is built that the key is a code(String, e.x 111), and it points to a Vector which holds Strings.
This Hash is saved in the application object and it is saved o.k
After a while( days ,hours ) the Hashtable gets corrupted I get ArrayIndexOutOfBounds on places that worked fine a day before.
Does someone knows what can be the reason for that?

Closing a webdynpro application, should call a portal page

I have a requirement in which, after a webdynpro application is closed in portal, the portal should show the workset content from which the webdynpro application is triggered.
For example,
Wedynpro application Created is ZWDA1.
Two iviews are created in portal which refers to the webdynpro application ZWDA1, the portal Iview names are ZPORTAL_IVIEW1, ZPORTAL_IVIEW2.
Two worksets ZWORKSET1 & ZWORKSET2 are created in portal which refers to Iview ZPORTAL_IVEW1 and ZPORTAL_IVEW2 respectively.
Two roles ZROLE1 & ZROLES2 are created in portal which refers to workset ZWORKSET1 & ZWORKSET2 resepectively. These two roles are assigned to users ZUSER1 and ZUSER2, when these user logs into portal they will see the content of the workset ZWORKSET1 & ZWORKSET2 respectively.
Assuming ZUSER1 and ZUSER2 invokes the portal ivew ZPORTAL_IVEW1 & ZPORTAL_IVEW2, the underlying webdynpro application called is same. So in the webdynpro application only I need to write the code to close the application and call the workset ZWORKSET1 for ZUSER1 and workset ZWORKSET2 FOR ZUSER2. This differentiation I am not able to indentify in webdynpro application, I thought of using relative navigation.
Any suggestion to achieve this functionality is greatly appreciatable

Copy an Application in the same portal?

My application seelct data from tables in a specific schema. I want to create a demo, with the same forms, etc but with different tables (to allow me to change names, ids, etc). I recreated the tables as another user, but my LOVs all access the original. My plan is to recreate the application on the same portal server.
When I tried to use appexp and appimp (CHECK) with a different app, eveything has the same portal IDs, so errors out with ID nnnn already exits. Is there a way to copy an app?

Try the following:
Use export / import instead of the copy function.
Between the two steps edit the export script by replacing all appearances of "old_schema" by "new_schema".
Note: Editing the export script is a efficient way to make some changes. We use this step e.g. to replace the public templates when moving applications from the test to the production environment in order to respect the changed navigation logic.

Hi,
How many actions are there in your process?. Is it having only one action that is Web service?.
I think, The process should at least contain one UI action.
If your process is having multiple actions, there may problem with other actions. Test the web service action seperately to confirm this.

Invalid method "Save As" from Excel application object

I have Windows 2000 and Excel 2002 installed on my machine.
I down loaded "renamed Excel 2000 workbook.vi" from NI website. Relinked ref num to Excel application object but get the error of invalid method (Save As). Tried to relink invoke node to Save As by selecting method from drop down menu. However this method is not on the list. Tried other excel objects but can not find "Save As" method. Has this been removed/moved?

I was able to correct the error by relinking the Workbooks->Open to Open. This changes the subsequent Invoke Node from IAppEvents to _Workbook. There you will find the Save As method.

How to Use AccessibleObjectFromWindow API in VBA to Get Excel Application Object from Excel Instance Window Handle

I need to get the Excel.application object from a window handle using AccessibleObjectFromWindow. I can't seem to make the code work. First, I successfully search for the XLMAIN windows. Then, when I get a handle, I execute the AccessibleObjectFromWindow
function. It seems to return a value of -2147467262 in all cases. Therefore, I believe that it is returning an error value. I can't figure out how to determine the meaning of this value.
If it is an error value, I believe that one or more arguments are in error. My best guess at present is that the GUID argument is incorrect. I have tried two GUID values: {00020400-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} and {90140000-0016-0409-0000-0000000FF1CE}.
I have seen both used in conjunction with OBJID_NATIVEOM. Neither one seems to work. I really would prefer not to use the second one as it has an Excel major and minor version number. I would hate to have to change this code, if a new minor version appeared.
The attached code has been commented to show which parts have been shown to work and which not. I'm at my wits end and really need help.

I don't think you can return a reference to Excel's main window like that as you are attempting to do.

Note as written if an instance does not have any loaded workbooks a reference will not be returned (though a workbook can be added using DDE, but convoluted!)
FWIW there are two other very different approaches to grab all running Excel instances though something along the lines of the above is simplest.

Error 1603 in deploying Office 2003 by creating an application object using its MSI package!

Hello,
I got the error of 1603 when I ran Office 2003 MSI package through NAL. I
have no idea how to resolve this problem. Even though I enabled logging in
Office 2003 installation, I still could not figure out what went wrong and
what caused the error.
I have used Snapshot to create an application object for a long time with
little problem. However, I could not successfully deploy any MSI package
created by an application object. I knew ZenWork Managing Application has
the feature, but I don't know how to make it work in our environment.
Do I have to know more about Microsoft Window Installer ?

My Contacts File in Applications has lost all name and addresses - how can I retrieve them?

Out of the blue my Contacts File in Applications has lost all my names and addresses. Is there any way I can retrieve them? On my back-up systems they don't appear either. Panic!

Alothogh I could not find help on any of the Communities (that I could acyually understand) - I haven't a clue what I have just done but ALL my addresses have now shown up in Contacts. Wish I knew what I had 'clicked" to achieve this - but as I have been "clicking" just about everything in sight - I am not sure what did the magic trick.
Maybe, although I have answered my own query, someone could perhaps tell me what may have happened? I THINK it was something to do with iCloud --- which is something I don't understand AT ALL!

How to create Illustrator COM application Object in Invisible manner?

Hi,
I added CS6 COM reference in my VB.NET application and after that I have the following basic object creation in order to convert a eps file to svg. But for some reason when I create this COM object it is launching the Adobe Illustrator application. Why it is doing like this? It’s a simple COM object why it is interacting with Illustrator Editor? Could you guide me how to take care this issue please?

To the best of my knowledge in order to access the Illustrator object model that the application must be running through JavaScript since scripts are run via the UI.
I did find this in the documentation in refference to VB.
CreateObject launches Illustrator as an invisible application if it is not already running. If Illustrator is
launched as an invisible application you must manually activate the application to make it visible:

So instead of "As New" try "CreateObject"...

How to bootstrap swiz to work in application loaded in a portal

I have a portal and I'm loading a couple of applicaitons using SWFLoaders which are using the Swiz framework. When loaded in the portal, the Swiz framework is not loading any beans or data. If the applicaiton is run outside the portal it works fine. The SWFLoader is a child of the portal, same security and application domain.
I don't know how to make swiz work. I also created a bootstrapper to load the portal and share classes but I get a compile error if I try this:

It doesn't do anything. If I add this same line to the portal, it still doesn't do anything. How can Swiz work for children applications loaded in the portal?
