Random errors on Flash Builder 4.5.1 mobile project: FXG elements

I'm kind of frustrated because Flash Builder is starting to report random errors on some mxml components that include FXGs. It's reporting the following errors:
1. 'MyFXG' declaration must be contained within the <Declarations> tag, since it is not assignable to the default
property's element type 'mx.core.IVisualElement'.
2. In initializer for 'mxmlContent', type es.domain.application.skin.assets.fxg.MyFXG is not assignable to target Array
element type mx.core.IVisualElement.

The curious thing (and frustrated one): these fxgs are included on others components and are working fine. There's no problem with the FXG themselves. If I comment all lines where I get an error, my project starts to compile fine (remember that I got included those very same fxgs in other components in the same project).
Even more curious: if I uncomment those lines my project continues to compile fine! But If I make a clean, It starts to complain again on the very same lines and fxgs.
It is driving me crazy!
Anyone could give me a clue? Has anybody experienced something like this?

Well, finally I've managed to solve the issue:
I've deleted one of the mxml components that contained false fxg errors.
I've created another mxml component with a different name.
I've copied&pasted the content of the first mxml into the new one.
et voila, everything has started to compile again, even if I clean the project.
Really weird and strange issue :S

    After my last edit - no syntax errors - of a given project, Flash Builder no longer builds my project.
    Restarted Flash Builder. Created a new project and copied all sources. Nothing helps. It just doesn't create the binary.
    I see two problem reports.
    Most of the time this one:
        An internal build error happened. See the error log for further details.
    Then, sometimes, this one appears:
       Classes aren't allowed to be defined inside other classes.
    The project is syntactically free of errors.
    As soon as I remove the main component from the App.mxml, the build finishes orderly and the app starts up. In this case - as expected - with a blank window.
    Does a workaround solution exist?  Does certain size restrictions make the build fail?

    Unbelieveable. After 2 day, I found the problem right now:
    I wrote
      private var baseNiceText =  String = '';
    instead of
      private var baseNiceText :  String = '';
    After I changed the source and recompiled, the app builds.
    Anyway, it's a problem inside of compiler.

  • Some one help I'm getting crazy: Flash Builder 4.6 - debugging mobile on desktop : Process terminate

    Hi all,  I am working with FB 4.6 on a windows 7pro 64 bit I'm working at a mobile android project.  I can debug it perfectly on device but if I launch it with the desktop emulator the debugger never connects.  Once I close the AIR window I got "Process terminated without establishing connection to debugger", and all the trace commands.   I am just noticing that both Android and Desktop have the ***IDENTICAL**** version of adobe air 3.1.0.488   Anybody can help on this? I have a bunch of network connections to debug, and it would be extremely easier to test the app on the desktop FB environment  I have tried the most common things: clear project, create a new workspace and re-import the project, run FB as an admin and also re-installing the AIR runtime.  Also I have the lastest JRE  Thanks  Alfonso

    Ok, in flash builder I simply opened the project's properties panel and clicked apply. I don't get the error anymore. It's weird, I know! but it has just worked for me. Give it a go

  • Flash Builder doesn't rebuild the project everytime I modify the code

    Hi,
    Flash Builder doesn't rebuild the project everytime I modify the code.
    I find myself chasing ghosts when trying to debug my project. Flash Builder 4.0 doesn't rebuild my project after every change I make.
    The "Project - Build Automatically" is of course selected. To make sure the problem is real I ran "Project - Build All" several times. Nothing helped.
    For example, I am using a boolean constant to select different code in an if block. Even if I change the value of the boolean, When I debug the code, I see that the constant's value doesn't change. Only If I log out login again, FB will rebuild my code.
    This happens too many times and it is very confusing to debug, when you don't know if the result now is with or without your changes.
    It also affects the following:
    - breakpoints that are set or disabled are not taken into account and the debugger will skip them even if they are set or stop on them if they are disabled.
    - the debugger stops the debug on empty lines, if those lines previously contained code.
    - When I comment out the declaration of variables. Eclipse doesn't recognize them and doesn't show any hint on them when you hold the CTRL key and hover over, but while in debug mode, when you hover over the variable instance, its shows a value for it.

    The problem is with the SDK settings selected for the Compiler.
    Try going to 'Project' > 'Properties' > 'ActionScript Compiler'.
    Now, in the 'Flex SDK section', try changing the SDK. Click on 'Apply'.
    This will force FB to rebuild all settings for the project.
    You can try again. FB should now have started compiling with latest code changes again.
    Please Note: This is not a permanent fix though!
    In case the problem re-occurs, you'll need to again perform the steps mentioned above to get FB back on track.

  • Adobe AIR Debug Launcher has stopped working Error on Flash Builder 4.6

    Hi,
    Maybe you could help me out here as I’ve search the web and Adobe forum but could not find any answer.
    I just installed Flash Builder 4.6 (after uninstalling 4.5.1), now when I run my app, the adl.exe crashes (error details below). I thought because I have an app that was created with 4.5, but then I created a new app with this version and it still crash. I have Windows 7 64-bit PC.

    Was the sandbox from firewall.

  • Error installing Flash Builder 4.5 after uninstalling Flash Burrito

    ON MAC:
    I'm getting errors installing FB 4.5 PHP,
    I tried installing FB 4.5, but just got errors saying  'beta or pre-release needs to be uninstalled'
    so I instead tried installing FB 4.5 PHP which gives better error messages.
    It said unable to delete directories:
    Adobe Flash Builder Burrito Preview
    Adobe Flash Builder Burrito
    Adobe Flash Builder Burrito/sdks
    which don't exist, so I created them and gave them r/w access to everyone.
    Still getting the same error.

  • Error on flash builder

    ERROR Shows my device is offline and that i don't have Air installed.
    On my device I have Adobe Air 14.0.0.179 it is a  Moto X with Droid OS 4.4.2
    PC is Windows 7 pro 64 bit with Flash Builder 4.7
    I have seen a forum that said i need to download an SDK for Droid or some such nonsense but that seems ridiculous.
    What is happening here and is there a solution?

    man buddy. i gave up and am using visual studio now. The support in this forum is absolute garbage and the software is too confusing for me. I hope that someone runs these guys into the ground some day.
    Until then... i would suggest looking at other options to build apps with. I think that you can do some game development for droids with python. you might give that a go. C# and c++ are also good options.

  • Network Monitor Causing error in Flash Builder 4

    I am working with PHP data services on a MAMP server.  Everything works fine until I turn on the network monitor.  When network monitor is enabled, my first call to the server returns the following error:
    Send failed
    Channel.Connect.Failed error NetConnection.Call.Failed: HTTP: Failed: url: 'http://localhost:8888/Dashboard1/gateway.php'
    The url correctly points to the gateway.php file so I am not sure where to start looking for the issue.

    This is my setup:
    Windows 7
    IIS
    SQL Server 2008 RS
    ColdFusion 8 with LCDS
    Flash builder 4
    I moved from this setup that worked.
    Windows XP
    SQL Server 2005
    ColdFusion 8 with LCDS
    Flex 3
    I had the data management working fine I was able to use the RDS in flex 3 with no error.
    Now on my current setup I am having the following errors
    When I try to setup my RDS Configuration Server this is what I am getting when I test the connection
    Unable to contact the RDS Server. This can be caused by incorrect configuration on either the client or the server.
    Please verify your connection details below or check your servers documentation on how to enable RDS for your server.
    The HTTP request to talk to your server returned with the following message:
    Permission denied: connect
    This is when I try to connect to the data service.
    faultCode:Server.Processing faultString:'No destination with id 'destination name' is registered with any service.' faultDetail:'null'
    I search the web and cannot find an answer for these problem, can anyone on this forum help me out.

  • How to display rich content with URL in adobe flash builder and flex for mobile apps?

    Hi,
      In Apple IOS SDK, I used the WebView control to display the rich text with Bullets, different font style, images within the text and the URLs also within the text as HTML content.
    Clicking on the URLs automatically opens the respective webpage in Safari.
    In Adobe Flash Builder, I don't see any control straight away equivalent to Apple WebView control.
    How to implement the same using adobe and flex?

    the error i got when submitting to the App store where due to native support for IPHONE 5 which is now mandatory (from May 1st), looking around the internet the common soloution seemed to be upgrading to Air 3.7.
    The strange erorrs on 3.7 revolve around compiling a standard / production build (fast build works fine)
    the error is always the same (snippet shown below):
    Error occurred while packaging the application:
    Undefined symbols for architecture armv7:
      "__ZN7avmplus8Debugger9debugLineEi", referenced from:
          __ZN7avmplus9MethodEnv9debugExitEPNS_13CallStackNodeE in AOTBuildOutput-4.o
          __ZN7avmplus11BaseExecMgr22debugEnterExitWrapperNEPNS_9MethodEnvEiPj in AOTBuildOutput-4.o
    I have completly failed to work out why, but my gut feeling is its something to do with how the mac is compiling the code in standard build and unable to find a library it needs.

  • Developing Iphone App using Flash Builder and Flex Air Mobile

    I started developing an Iphone app using the trial version of Flash Builder and was pretty impressed with how easy it was, then i hit problems:
    Trying to submit my app, I was getting invalid binary, using google i tracked this down to a change in the Apple App Store meaning that all apps needed to have native iphone 5 support, which meant updating to Air SDK 3.7
    Updating to AIR SDK 3.7 was a nightmare (mainly as a result of my failure to read the small print)
    Once I got SDK 3.7 to  work with flash builder / flex mobile i though i was there.
    However now i can produce a fast build but everytime i try and produce a standard / production build i get strange errors (air 3.8 does the same).
    My Question is - before i actually buy Flash Builder has anybody actually achieved the following:
         Building an Iphone App using:
         Flash Builder 4.7    (running on OSX)
         Flex Mobile 4.6
         Air 3.7
    If so how ?

  • Can Flash Builder actually make native mobile apps as advertised?  Or does it always require AIR?

    I'm developing mobile applications on AIR with FlashDevelop.  It's a very nice platform to develop on, but AIR is a whopping huge download for mobile, especially over an expensive 3G connection.  I'm worried about driving away potential customers with that and I'd love to find something that builds native apps instead.  So I was very excited when I went to the Flash Builder page and read:
    "Build uncompromised native applications for iOS, Android, and Blackberry Tablet OS..."
    However, when I started looking at the documentation, everything always seems to still be based on AIR.  And AIR apps are definitively not native.
    Does anyone know if I've just missed something and Flash Builder really is able to build native apps?  Or is Adobe just blowing smoke and redefining words?

    I don't see what the problem with running on a virtual machine would be. Most Android apps run on a virtual machine. Or isn't Dalvik a virtual machine?
    However, this is true for Android and not for iOS. On Android, your application is compiled to bytecode and then run on a virtual machine. This has the advantage of allowing you app size to be smaller, since users can download the AIR runtime separately and share it among different apps.
    On iOS, it is compiled to machine language. Otherwise, Apple would not allow its distribution on the app store.
    Some features are tailored for a specific environment (for example, text input controls). Some features are available on some environments and not on others, and the runtime provides functions to determine whether they are available or not.

  • Flash Builder 4 and Flex Mobile

    I've started a Udemy course on Building Mobile Projects in Flash, and late last year I bought CS5 Master Suite with Flash Builder 4. Now I'm halfway through the course and was instructed to open a "New Mobile Project" in Flex, and didn't have this option.
    After a bit of research it became clear I need Flash Builder 4.6. The course didn't specify this, which is extremely annoying, seeing as I've coughed up a not insubstantial amount of money for the software. Can anyone tell me what my options are here? I'm reluctant to part with more cash just to upgrade to yet another version of Flash Builder.

    You can still build apps with the AIR sdk using the command-line. One thing you lose by not upgrading to FB 4.6 is the new mobile framework in Flex, along with easier build/debug options. In my opinion it really is beneficial to upgrade. You will find it much simpler to test your apps and deploy them for iOS, Android, and BlackBerry.
