Range function in HFR

Is there a way to get the memeber name of the last member in a Range?
I am using the Range function and summing up the range, ie. Range from Prompt for PeriodName to Prompt for PeriodName. So let's say user chooses January through March... in another column, it sums up January through March.
The problem is, the first range (which is January) is the only member showing up in the header instead of let's say, January - March.
Is there a way to get both? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks! However... the header of the column I'm trying to put the End Period membername is actually a formula.
The function is Range from Prompt for Period (Start Period) to Prompt for Period(End Period). The column prior it sums the range of whatever the user entered.
I tested having Apr as the Start Period and Dec as the End Period and tried your idea: <<GetHeading("Grid1",1,b(i), offset)>>. It works.. gave me Dec in the header. However, if I change the End Period to Oct, it doesn't give me any header column as "b(i)" only looks at the "i" column instead of the last range which is now in the "g" column.
Still need help...

  • Y-T-D and Range Functions not working in upgrade to v 11.1.2.507 FR

Has anyone else had this problem. We are upgrading to v11.1.2 from 9.3.1 and when I create a new report with a range function in v 11, it just hangs there. When I use the YTD function, sometimes it works, sometimes it just hangs. Does anyone have any ideas on this. Thanks, Donna

To be honest the best place to start is to read through the Upgrade section of the install/config documentation, if you still don't understand after reading through then ask or specific question or maybe discuss with a consultant.
    Documentation is available at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/epm_install_11121/frameset.htm?launch.html

  • Very urgent - Usage of IsError function in HFR

    Hi All,
Its very urgent requirement for us.
How can we use the is error function in HFR.bcoz if the both values in formula ex: a/b ; a=0,b=0; then it shows some garbage value.i came to know we can achieve that
by using iserror function.but i dnt know how use it.
    Thanks,
    Ravi

    Hi
It can be done in this way using IfThen condition
    IfThen(IsErr((reference row/column),0,(reference row/column))
    where IfThen checks the condition
Condition is IsErr, it returns true when reference formula row/column,has #error value, so you many assign 0 (or whatever value you want) else returns actual calulated value from formula row/column,.
PS: Only formula rows and columns can result in #error.

  • Using Substitution variables in Range function in FR

    Hi,
According to one of my report requirement, I want to show current quarter’s weeks till the current week. Just to elaborate more I am able to show current quarters all weeks but unable to show till current week. I had created Current quarters starting week (CurrQtrSW) as a substitution variable and CurrWeek as other substitution variable when I keep these two SV's in Range function it is throwing me error and my report is not running. Can anybody help me in this?
    It is urgent
    Thanks in Adv.

If you're using the standard 13 week quarters and they are labeled that way, you can just use Week1 as the starting point (as opposed to having weeks 1-52 in your essbase cube).
Have you restarted essbase/FR Studio since adding the sub vars? It can sometimes require one or both to fully recognize them.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to Create a new Number Range Function in R3

    Hi,
I need to create a new number range function in R3 and i have to call this function to get the new material number incremented by 1. Can any one please let me know the transaction code to create the number range function? Please also tell me how to call this number range function in ABAP pogram? Thanks for your help  in advance.
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi,
    Go to snro
    create an object say zabc
specify short text and long text and
    number length domain say num10
then click number range interval at the top and specify starting and ending number. The number you want
    for ex
    from number 5700000000
    to number   6799999999
make sure i should be no of digits in specify in previous .
Then you use this object i.e zabc where ever you want
    for ex
       call function 'NUMBER_GET_NEXT'
                  exporting
                  nr_range_nr                   = '01'
                  object                        = <b>'ZABC'</b>

  • Access range function in SAP/R3

    I have the following problem:
I want to develop a portal component that is accessing SAP/R3 transactions and show the result in the portal.
Therefore I'm using a form. The values within the form are handed over to the RFC as import parameter.
A table with all the necessary values is returned.
The transaction I rebuild in the portal is using a range function (for e.g. order number from …. to ...).
    The question:
Can I access the range function from the rorm and give the values back to the form?
Probably this is only possible, if there is a RFC available for that.
Or is there any standard portal functionality?
    Thank you for helping.
    best regards,
    Birgit

    Hi Birgit,
you can do that by the "Extended Value Selector (EVS)" or "Object Value Selector" functions.
For this please check the following tutorials.
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloaditem?rid=/library/uuid/5dcbe990-0201-0010-2c99-a2bc9e61acfc
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloaditem?rid=/library/uuid/91c5e990-0201-0010-4981-9b2075751da5
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloaditem?rid=/library/uuid/0c0dcacd-0401-0010-b4bd-a05a0b4d68c8
By above samples, you'll be able to create a form with from and to input boxes and by clicking get value button next to input fields just like R/3, you'll get the available values and select them.
For this, of course you've to add a parameter to the RFC to get available values if needed. By this you'll load less tables.
Another way is to send all available values with a table.
But, on the other hand, please ask those kind of development questions at web dynpro forum.
    regards

  • Range function

please  I am trying to get the last 60 days before a month starts
I  have a set that is returned from the query below
    SELECT
       non empty
       [Measures].[TRANSACTIONS Count] on 0,
       non empty ([TRANSACTIONS].[Days].[Days],
                                         [TRANSACTIONS].[Transaction Month].[Transaction Month])  on 1 from [cube]
I can get the cummulative count of last 60 days before month 2 by hardcoding the day of transaction of start of month like below
    WITH MEMBER
     [Measures].[Cumm Account Count]
    AS
        AGGREGATE( [TRANSACTIONS].[Days].CurrentMember:NULL ,[Measures].[TRANSACTIONS Count])
     SELECT
non empty [Measures].[Cumm Account Count] on 0,
       non empty [TRANSACTIONS].[Days].&[3]:[TRANSACTIONS].[Days].&[3].lead(60) on 1 from  [cube];
and for subsequent months by using the dates that the following month starts
please how can i achieve the above result without having to use the day numbers, I tried to use the tail function (to get the months and star date) but it wont work because the range function  accepts members only , please any guidance
    or where to check
    Thanks

    Hi I4QR1A,
According to your description, you need to get the aggregation value from the previous 60 days member to current member, right?
I have tested it on AdventureWorks cube, we can use the lead function to achieve this requirement. The sample query is for you reference.
    with member [measures].[Previous60]
    as
    [Date].[Calendar].currentmember.lead(-60).name
    member [Measures].[total]
    as
    aggregate ( {[Date].[Calendar].currentmember.lead(-60):[Date].[Calendar].currentmember}
    ,[Measures].[Internet Sales Amount]
    select {[measures].[Previous60],[Measures].[total]} on 0
    ,[Date].[Calendar].[Date].members on 1
    from
    select ([Date].[Calendar].[Date].&[20070310]:[Date].[Calendar].[Date].&[20070315]) on 0
    from
    [Adventure Works]

  • Write to excel using Range function - Excel_write_range.vi

I am using the write using range Excel function to dump some data into Excel.
My data is an array consisting of decimal numbers (data type double) but I have to use "Number To Fractional String" before I can dump this array into Excel. And then when I open the output excel file, you have all these warnings for each cell saying, "number displayed as string". Is there a way to instead dump numbers (in format double) into the Excel. That way each cell in the excel output file will already be formatted as a number instead of string.
    Thanks in advance.

I'm assuming you're actually using ActiveX to write out Excel files. I say this because a lot of people say "Excel files" when they're really talking about spreadsheet-formatted files, generated using the Write to Spreadsheet File VI. That said, the "Value" ("Value 2" in newer versions of Excel) is a variant, so you can wire any datatype to it. Just wire the numeric value directly.

  • Substring function in HFR

    Hello Experts,
Iam a rookie in HFR. I needed to know how to implement the Substring functionality in Hyperion. Can anyone throw some light on this?

thats a major drawback of hyperion financial reporting of not having any string functions. as per my knowledge there is none.
Let me know if you get to know of the same. Coz even I need it for couple of things in my reports.

  • Is there an "Out of Range" Function in LabVIEW?

    Howdy,
My issue is I have an input value that is compared to an upper and lower limit. If the input is within the range I want the program to do nothing. If the input is below the lower value I need to send a "TRUE" signal to a relay. If the input is above the upper value I need to send a "FALSE" signal to the relay. Does anyone have a clever way of getting this to work?
Attached is a example of what I'm trying to do for your veiwing pleasure.
    Thanks

I would just use a couple of Select functions with the results being based on the comparison to the upper limit and lower limit.

  • CellText Function in HFR

    Hi,
I am trying to use celltext function to retrieve the comment I entered in a Grid (Created using Hyperion Workspace for HFM). I see the comment in the grid and in the data explorer.
But when I try to retrieve that information in the HFR report, I see blanks in text box when I preview the report (Print preview in HFR as well as PDF preview in workspace).
    Below are some additional details:
    1. Comment inputted for a cell where the POVs are not at the lowest level.
    2. Comment inputted via Data Grids created using Workspace.
    3. Created and saved data grid report object with the same POVs as the input grid.
    4. Referencing the data grid created in the report in the celltext formula.
Please let me know if you need any additional information. Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Vivek G

Check that you have the same fonts installed on the PDF server as is listed for the comments.

  • LastYearYTD Date Range Function

    Hi,
I have a spreadsheet which includes a column with a date in it.  The dates range from 2002-present.  I am trying to create a comment for those records where the date falls within the previous 12 months from the time of the report run (today) rather than having to specify the date range every time I run the report.  Here is my simple logic:
If {LEVEL_09_UNON_L21_L23_ACTIVE_INACTIVE.STUDY ACTUAL DBF} in LastYearYTD then
    "DBF Achieved within Last Year"
Unfortunately, it is only creating the comment for the 2 records below.  Why is it not creating the comment for all records where the date is between 08-Jan-2008 and 08-Jan-2009?
    STUDY ACTUAL DBF     01c_DBF_ACHVD_12MOS
07-Jan-2008     DBF Achieved within Last Year
08-Jan-2008     DBF Achieved within Last Year
    09-Jan-2008
    10-Jan-2008
    10-Jan-2008
    11-Jan-2008
    17-Jan-2008
    Thank you for your help.

Actually, someone just told me to try this and it worked.  I just didn't want to have to change the dates everytime I ran the report.  Thank you for your help!!
    If {LEVEL_09_UNON_L21_L23_ACTIVE_INACTIVE.STUDY ACTUAL DBF} >=CurrentDate -365 then
    "DBF Achieved within Last Year"
    Else If {LEVEL_09_UNON_L21_L23_ACTIVE_INACTIVE.STUDY ACTUAL DBF} >=CurrentDate -730 then
"DBF Achieved within Last Two Years"

  • RelativeMember function in HFR

    Hi,
In my report, I have a requirement to display the prompt and prompt -1 on columns. I could achieve this using the RelativeMember function and setting offset as -1.
But the Year dimension contains the members, 2007,2008,2009 & 2010.
So when the user selects 2007, it goes to the RelativeMember function and returns 2010 as prompt-1.
Is there any way to restrict this?
    Thanks in advance
    Aparna

    hi anu,
    To form the following..
Relative to Current Point of View for Year offset by -1 AND
NOT Relative to Year offset by 0
So while you double click any dimesnion, you will get a pop-up. There you will see 3 tabs.
    1. Members 2. Lists 3. Functions
    Goto 3 rd one.
Take Relative member in to right pane. then one more pop-up will open. In the member, select Current POV of entity. specify other parameters as well.
Then go to right most top corner of the pop-up and click View..
    Chek Advanced option there.
This will enable you to see "Operator" column. Instead of "Union", select "AND" there.
So this way, you will be able to form the following formula
