when you see my answer, at the left hand side of my answer you will find some stars in dark blue green and yellow colour..
click on dark blue for 10 points if ur problem is solved.. green if answer is very helpful and yellow if just helpful..
now try clicking on the dark blue for 10 points.. beside my answer.. i will get 10 points.. please do it now, i am making you learn by experience.

Using Layout Variant in jobs that are scheduled to run in background

Hi Guys,
I have an issue in using the "layout variant" in running a report in the background. Here is what i do to run a report.
I select a "selection Variant" and at the bottom of the Report input screen, I choose an User- Specific "Layout Variant" which i have saved with few columns only to show in the report.
When i run this in foreground, i am able to get the report with my "Layout variant" with only my selected columns. I could also export this output and it looks fine in excel.
When i run the same report with the same "Layout Variant" in background and save it to my local desktop as an excel file, my "Layout Variant" doesn't seem to work and i am getting all the columns and fields of the reports as such.
Is this the way, the "Layout variants" will work? Whether this will not work in background jobs? Is this the way standard SAP work?
Please guide me...

This query is about Rating feature again.
Have changed the configuration by adding:
1. No of Rating Points from 5 to 10.
2. Max No of Comments from 3 to 5.
This was just to experiment whether siuch change is possible. And yes, it does work fine.
Question:
Ideally, the no. of rating points is 5 with comments like Excellent, Very Good, Good, Poor and Very Poor.
Now since ive changed this attribute from 5 to 10, how can I add more commetns like the ones mentioned above?

Firstly thank you for your inputs but i think u missed my question.
I have already changed some configuration in the RatingService but now I want to add more comments in the pop-up which shows Excellent, Good, etc.
Where is this controlled??

Excessive Political Correctness on the Forum

The latest nonsense surrounding the forum rankings has really got me thinking about why I come here to the forum in the first place. It's very simple really, and its not to score points, or rise up the rankings.
I come here to do two things: Firstly, I try to help a few folks with broadband router and connectivity problems by giving them impartial, non-partisan advice - the emphasis being on impartial. Secondly, I come here to learn more about other areas of broadband from those who know much more about it than I do.
Sadly, it seems that healthy controversy and debate is no longer welcome on the forum. Nor, it seems, are technical issues which, whilst only of interest to a few, are still important to some on the forum. Checking through the forum, it seems that some 60% of the points I have awarded over the last two weeks have now been removed from their recipients. I'd given those points because the contributor had given something to me - either a better understanding of a complex area, a better answer than the one I would have offered, or simply because they made me smile.
I can't play this silly game any longer. Whilst I am happy to continue to offer impartial and hopefully useful advice - I no longer wish to participate in a ranking structure that rewards conformity and blandness over innovation and real contribution.
So, if I should happen to help you, please don't give me any points - a brief thank you is fine - passing on the advice to someone else is even better. I won't offer you any points either. Better to judge us all by reputation and word of mouth than silly titles.

Having read all the above posts several times now, I too am "thinking about why I come here to the forum".
I agree with what GD has written (I couldn't have put it better). I also choose to visit here to make friends and in doing so hopefully make the forum community a better place to be. I do this by having a bit of a laugh and a joke. This probably isn't the right place to do this but I feel it 'breaks the ice' plus I can stay on this forum in between 'gaps' in questions, comments and replies rather than just a passing glance. With reference to "healthy controversy and debate is no longer welcome on the forum. Nor, it seems, are technical issues". I don't see any problem with openly discussing these types of subjects. At times members may presume that activities/actions are illegal, that is against the law so therefore it must be legal and therefore can be discussed. The way I look at it: Is it not better to post these types of comments/concerns here rather than elsewhere whereby they cannot be locked? I guess that any new visitor would be surprised to see a locked thread and wonder why it was not allowed to continue to its conclusion. I feel that the members who do award ratings to other members should remain a private matter (once you log in you can see who gave a rating). The way I see it, what is to stop me from awarding rating points to every single post? I have also noticed that regulars on the old forum don't/won't post here for several reasons. Has anybody looked at the old forums "Top users"?
Now if the rating system could be altered to a two tier system (something similar to the old method of "helpful" and "answered" ratings) then I believe it could work better. Ratings awarded in this category would show next to the user id. Any other member that thought that the authors post was useful then a simple "other members rating" could be included on that thread/post.

My lenovo N500 gets ONLY 1 point on the 'Vista Experience Index Rating'?!

Processor 4,9 points
Memory Ram 4,5 ..
Graphics 1,0 ..
Hard Drive 5,3 ..
What's wrong with my Graphics? Or do all the lenovo 3000 N500 gets the minimum score?

enter your Type and Model number on this site to find out which graphics you have, you should then be able to select downloads and drivers to find the correct driver.

ITunes points to the wrong location for some songs. I can't fix it...

Hello,
I have an iTunes library with 6,000+ songs, and I can't afford to lose them all. I tried to copied my entire iTunes folder to my external hard drive, and now most of my songs have the grey exclamation point next to them saying they can't be found. I checked the info of those missing songs, and it says the file path is "file://localhost/Volumes/MUSIC/Music/Artist/Album/Track Title.mp3". However, the actual path should be "/Volumes/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Artist/Album/Track Title.mp3" I think. How can I fix these songs? Some few random songs that still work are pointing to the internal hard drive on my mac in the original iTunes folder. How can I get all the locations set to the right place? Even if I can get it working from my internal hard drive again, that would be good.
I really need to keep all of the track information that is in the iTunes library file (Date added, play count, rating, etc.)
Please help me out, I cannot figure this out to save my life. If you need any other information, please just let me know.

I messed around with the XML file and the .itdb file and somehow I got it to point to my other hard drive and I didn't lose any of my dates added. I wish I payed more attention to what I did so I could help other people with this issue...

Apple maps has received a poor performance rating just after introduction of the iPhone 5. I am running google maps app on the phone. Siri cannot seem to get me to a specific address. Where does the problem lie? Thanks.

Apple maps has received a poor performance rating just after introduction of the iPhone 5. I am running Google Maps app on the phone. SIRI cannot seem to get me to a specific address. Where does the problem lie? Also can anyone tell me the hierarchy of use between the Apple Maps, SIRI, and Google maps when the app is on the phone? How do you choose one over the other as the default map usage? Or better still how do you suppress SIRI from using the Apple maps app when requesting a "go to"?
I have placed an address location into the CONTACTS list and when I ask SIRI to "take me there" it found a TOTALLY different location in the metro area with the same street name. I have included the address, the quadrant, (NE) and the ZIP code into the CONTACTS list. As it turns out, no amount of canceling the trip or relocating the address in the CONTACTS list line would prevent SIRI from taking me to this bogus location. FINALLY I typed in Northeast for NE in the CONTACTS list (NE being the accepted method of defining the USPS location quadrant) , canceled the current map route and it finally found the correct address. This problem would normally not demand such a response from me to have it fixed but the address is one of a hospital in the center of town and this hospital HAS a branch location in a similar part of town (NOT the original address SIRI was trying to take me to). This screw up could be dangerous if not catastrophic to someone who was looking for a hospital location fast and did not know of these two similar locations. After all the whole POINT of directions is not just whimsical pasttime or convenience. In a pinch people need to rely on this function. OR, are my expectations set too high?
How does the iPhone select between one app or the other (Apple Maps or Gppgle Maps) as it relates to SIRI finding and showing a map route?
Why does SIRI return an address that is NOT the correct address nor is the returned location in the requested ZIP code?
Is there a known bug in the CONTACTS list that demands the USPS quadrant ID be spelled out, as opposed to abreviated, to permit SIRI to do its routing?

siri will only use apple maps, this cannot be changed. you could try google voice in the google app.

Rating is a customer classification which you are free to use anyway you like.
The customizing is done here:
IMG: Customer Relationship Management => Master Data => Business Partner => Define Attributes => Define Customer Class

Rating info in Bridge CS6

Hi there, using Bridge CS6 (OS X 10.8.4).
I have a large number of .cr2 files and, in order to have a smaller file size to preview, I batch processed them all to .jpg files, while keeping the original .cr2 files on an ext. disk.
The filenames of the .jpegs are the same as the .cr2s.
I previewed the .jpegs and made some ratings using Bridge. Can anyone tell me how I can transfer/copy this ratings info from the .jpegs over to their original .cr2 files, or do I have to duplicate the info by manually rating each of the cr2s?

You can't do so in Bridge easily, maybe if you create a custom script or ask for it in the dedicated Bridge Scripting Forum maybe they have a solution for you.
But you can use your external disk itself also with Bridge, just point Bridge to this disk (you must have read and write permissions for this disk to add rating and other metadata)
And the previews are not that big a file, unless you have a very large monitor and have set the option to generate monitor sized preview you can get relatively larger files in your cache folder but you have to use thousands before this gets a problem, and you can always purge the cache to make extra space.

Edit camera raw in Bridge stopped working CS5 (and star rating removed)

I have always had the 'double click edits camera raw settings in Bridge' setting enabled. Half way through editing a batch of 1000 images, instead of opening in Bridge the image opened in Photoshop. I checked the selection in Bridge, re-enabled it, closed Bridge and opened a few times, re-enabled again, re-booted my system, but it still opens raw files in Photoshop. This is extremely irritating as I now have to switch windows every time I go to do the next edit. I don't need Photoshop running for 90% of the edits I am doing. I made no changes to my system during the time that I was editing.
Any ideas?

At the same time as this error occurred Bridge now removes star ratings as in the following sequence:
1 Give image 3 *
2 Double click to edit and raw file opens in Photoshop
3 Edit and save image.
4 Click done and return to Bridge
5 The 3 * rating has been removed and the saved jpg also has 0 *

I have partly solved the problem. I normally convert to DNG but did not do so on this occasion. In the batch were files from a Canon 5D and and Canon 5D mkII. A very small number of the 5D files have the problem above. I converted all these to DNG and I can edit normally. But I am still at a loss as to why some files exhibit this strange behaviour.

Question: How to display rating in SURVEY VIEW

Hi,
I've been using Lightroom for years. I love to use the SURVEY mode. But today, I couldn't see the rating stars under each photo in Survey mode; I only see the flag status. Now, it's probably something I did, like hitting a shortkey or something... but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to bring back that visual information. After searching online + fiddling around with the settings, I finally thought I'd come here and ask if anyone knows...

PS. Lightroom 4.3RC (why 4.3 RC, because I'm one of those plagged with a super slow Lightroom in develop mode, especially with my D800 files! I'm crossing my fingers with each RC update that the software will be faster... )

your screenshot pointed me in the right direction. It just happens that I had changed the background color of the Survey View, and the stars rating were now blending with the background, creating the illusion of them not being there.

Rating problem

Usually when I am rating in CS6 Bridge, I press the spacebar when on an image in a folder and it fills the screen. Then all I have to do is press a number from 1 to 5 to rate it.
For some reason this stopped working. When I press a number it goes to another image. And while the arrow press normally goes to another image, now nothing happens.
Without the full screen image, pressing control and a number rates it, but this doesn't work either. I have to actually click where the star should be to rate.
What might have changed this behavior?

It seems I have read only half of your post because you do edit them and I mainly use email for this forum, edits don't arrive via email
However when both CS6 and CS5 have this same behavior it might be your keyboard giving problems. On a mac I would try a different USB slot or a different keyboard for testing, maybe Win has a driver for a keyboard.
But with both apps behave the same and reset prefs does not help everything points to you system hardware or software being not able to sync with Bridge. Did you check if the control key works in PS as expected?
This to eliminate as much as possible before being sure were to focus on to solve the problem.
