RAW 7 Not Working

Why will Photoshop CS5 with RAW 6.7 open images from my Nikon D800, but Photoshop CS6 with RAW 7 will not.  The documentation says it supports the D800, but when I try to open a RAW file it says the file type is not supported.
Garry

The Camera Raw 7 build is slightly behind the 6.7 build, as crazy as that sounds. Once Adobe updates Camera Raw 7, we'll hopefully have support for some of the newer dSLRs.
If you like to work with your D800 raw files in the public beta build now, you'll have to get the DNG Converter 6.7 from here: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/cameraraw6-7/ and convert your files to DNG.

  • Camera Raw not working with Photoshop and Bridge CS6

    Hi guys,
Had a hard-drive meltdown the other week and lost everything. I have re-downloaded and installed most of my important software, including the CS6 suite. I used to use camera raw alot with my .CR2 files and it worked fine for ages, now though, it doesn't work at all.
I have run an update and everything is up to date now, i've purged the cache and it's still not working, no preview on bridge or anything.
I have also tried going through the Camera raw updates on the Adobe website. I have tried deleting the plug in and redownloading it altogether too, no help.
Furthermore, when i try to open a .CR2 file through bridge into photoshop i get a message window:
    My Camera Raw Version:
    My photoshop version:
No preview of files in Bridge:
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Adjustment tools in Camera Raw not working

Downloaded CS 5 and opened Camera Raw, then attempted to use the adjustment tool and received the following message "Unable to create local adjustment.  All the local adjustment controls are set to have no effect on the image."  Can anyone provide assistance please and thanks?

I had the same problem and tried turning of GPU in Photoshop and in Lightroom which did not work, however in the RAW window when I found the preferences tab which is the tab with the 3 horizontal lines and unchecked GPU there Camera Raw did start working and the blue screen was replaced by my image.  Hope this clarifies it more and you get yours to wok also!

  • Camera Raw not working/recognising CR2 files - CS5, Mac

I cannot get Camera Raw to work. It worked before but took some fiddling around to get it to work. I am using CS5 on a Mac. My camera is supported by the version of Camera Raw I have and it is the latest update for CS5. Help please.

    Hi there
    Thank you for your questions.
    I am using Mavericks.
    Camera is a Canon 6D.
Camera Raw is 6.7.1.340. According to Adobe my camera should be recognised by this.
This is the message I get when I try to open a CR2 file.
Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw. Please visit the Camera Raw help documentation for additional information.
Yes, all Readable Documents is selected in the first drop-down menu. Bottom drop-down menu is Camera Raw.
In Bridge the CR2 files appear as white rectangles instead of images.
I realise that I can convert my CR2 files to DNG but from what I have read on Adobe information I understand that this is not a requirment as Camera Raw should work without having to convert every image to DNG first - or am I completely misunderstanding this?

  • Panasonic FZ1000 RAW not working in Aperture

My FZ1000 RAW files are not able to be read in Aperture (getting "Unsupported image format" message. RAW support for the FZ1000 was added in Digital Camera RAW 5.07, which I downloaded and installed. When I go to About Aperture, it's showing DC RAW 5.07, build 760.1 but yet it's still not working. I have rebooted my Mac but still nothing.
I'm running Aperture 3.5.1 with Mavericks 10.9.4. Any thoughts?
    Thanks

I removed them from my library then reimported them and all is well now.
Yes, that forces the reprocessing.  Instead of reimporting it might have helped to reprocess the RAW with "Photos > ReprocessOriginals".

  • Bridge Raw not working, cannot see Raw image in Bridge

The RAW setting in Bridge is not working. When I open Bridge I can see only icons, no images. The RAW tool icon is grey, not active. I am going on a trip Tomorrow and I need Bridge to be working. It was working earlier.

My Photoshop and bridge is CS4, purchased in 2008, and the canon 5D Mark
11, purchased earlier. I have CR2. The camera and software worked
together fine for all those years.
Now, however, when I click Bridge to open a file containing several
images, I do not get thumbnail images, just a circle with CR 2 and the
    file name, no image.
If I double click one of the circles, the image will open in camera Raw,
and I can edit, and open photoshop and edit again. If I then save a Jpeg
version, I will be able to open it and see the image in Bridge.
The problem is that now if I shoot 100 pictures, I can open Bridge but
there are no thumbnail images, only CR2 and file name.
I hope this can clarify the problem. Camera and software have not been
    changed.
Thank you very much. Please help.

  • Elements 4.0... RAW not working

    Hey guys,
My elements 4.0 has worked with RAW for a long time since i downloaded a patch. I tried to install an even later patch to work with my dad's d700 raw files. I have a Nikon D80. I forgot to backup the file, but i found it anyway.
Now, no matter what version i install, my RAW will NOT work. It says that the plugin is installed in the Plugin menu.
    Help?

When you try a new camera 's raw, they are unique to the camera. So, if camera A raw is working fine in your software, not necessarily will camera B work also. Therefore, you need to check out whether your current software will support that specific camera. Don't be confused by the extensions, as they are misleading as they don't tell the whole story.

  • Upgrade of Camera Raw - not working

I am trying to edit photos from a Nikon D800 using Photoshop CS6.  Camera Raw plugin is 7.0.  Gives message that it cannot open file.  Looks like I need 7.1 or better.
When I go to help - update, I always get an "update unavailable" message.  Have allowed all Adobe products access through the firewall,
As a work around, I downloaded and executed Camera Raw and DMG 8.4, and it executed succssfully.  Add-on in Adobe still states it is 7.0 and it still will not open files.
    What do I do next???

It’s possible your OS is too old to support the newer ACR plugins and the update process isn’t smart enough to update you to the most recent oldest version that is compatible.
Use the manual install process on the following page to update to ACR 8.3 into CS6:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/camera-raw-84-support-policy.html
Keep in mind that this process is for rolling back from ACR 8.4 to ACR 8.3 but the ideas are the same for replacing an older version with ACR 8.3.

  • D810 RAW not working with elememts 12

I have a new Nikon D810. Shooting RAW I tried to download to elements 12 and it says the files are not recognizable. I upgraded capture RAW, and still no luck. I downloaded DNR 8.6 and can convert the files but still will not open in Elements. I can open in picture control but still won't work in elements 12. plz help...tnx

Are you saying the DNGs from DNGC 8.6 won’t open, or that the NEFs won’t open?  Only the DNGs should open.
The D810 requires ACR 8.6 to open its NEFs and there has been no update for PSE12 to do this.  I think that is because PSE13 is due out in a month or two, so they’re not updating PSE12 near its end of life.  The same situation happened with PSE11 and PSE10 for the last ACR update of the summer before the next version was released.

  • CS5: Camera Raw Not Working

    Hello -
I am currently using CS5, and when I purchased it, I was under the assumption that it uses the new Camera Raw 6 Plug-In. Does it come with this Plug-In built in? Or do I need to download it? I cannot find a download page for it (unless it's not released yet) and Adobe's wording makes me assume it comes built in: "This powerful plug-in has been frequently updated to support more cameras and include more features and is available as part of Adobe Photoshop CS5".
If it did come built into the software, I don't think it is working properly for me and I was wondering if anyone else is having issues. My previous suite version was CS3, and I would select a photo in Bridge, open it up in Camera Raw to make corrections, and then from Camera Raw, I could open it into Photoshop to make further modifications.
With the new CS5, I cannot open any of my RAW images from Bridge into Photoshop. I have even tried using Mini-Bridge. It won't even open the image in Camera Raw first. I assumed the Plug-In must not be there, so I tried looking for Camera Raw 6 and since I couldn't find it, I tried downloading Camera Raw 5.7, and still no luck. It simply won't open my RAW images.
Can anyone shed some light on this matter?
    Other info that may help:
I use Mac OS 10.5.8 and I use a Canon EOS 5D. I also work off of a Lacie external hard drive if that makes a difference (which it shouldn't).

Adobe Camera RAW (ACR) 6.0 comes with Photoshop CS5, and gets installed with Photoshop CS5.
There is no separate download page because it comes with CS5.
You may have a bad install - try reinstalling.

  • Camera Raw not working

    Hi
I currently use Photoshop CS2 and the Camera Raw plug in has never worked. I have the most up to date version of camera raw available for CS2, which is 3.7. With the plug-in installed I get the "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document" error message. The plug-in is definatly installed because it is showing up in the list of plug-ins installed. I use a Nikon D60 and I don't have the Nikon plug-in installed. So any suggestions? It's really starting to annoy me but theres no way I can afford to replace my photoshop so if anyone knows how to fix it that would be great. Thanks

  • Camera Raw not working/errors

Hey! I can't install camera raw. I've seen the same problems on the forum already, but unanswered. I get errors: "This is not the right kind of document" "Camera Raw editing is not enabled" I have creative design suite CS4, also bridge cs6. Ive tried uninstalling reinstalling photoshop. When i try both the camera raw 6_4 and 6_5 camera raw update they say "Update failed". When i try to install the Camera Raw 5.2, it gives me an error  "Error opening file for  writing: C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\AdobeStandard\(all camera types).dcp Click Abort to stop the installation, Retry to try again, Ignore to skip this file

ACR is Adobe Camera Raw. To open RAW from T3i you'll need ACR 6.4. But unfortunately you cannot install ACR 6.4 for Photoshop CS4. ACR versions of 6.x is CS5 and above only.
    I'd suggest three options:
    1. Upgrade to Photoshop CS6. You can now upgrade standalone applications from within Creative Suite. You need not have to upgrade the entire Creative Suite.
    2. Get Adobe Lightroom - much cheaper updates and works just fine
    3. The most feasible option - Use DNG Converter 6.3 to convert your files, then open them up with Photoshop CS4

  • RAW not working Elements 4.0

Hello...."All of a sudden" my RAW images will not open in the editor.  I'm using Elements 4.0, Camera Raw Plug-in (3.7.0.200), my camera> Nikon D80.
The 3.7 plug-in is the latest that I'm aware of for a D80 using Elements 4.0.  Is there a newer version that I'm not aware of ?  I have searched the Adobe website and I do not see a newer version of the plug-in for a D80 using Elements 4.0.
The error I'm receiving when trying to open the editor for a RAW file is "cannot open [file path] because it is the wrong type of file."
Keep in mind that I have had no issues until all of a sudden about two weeks ago.  I have tried re-installing PSE 4.0 and also tried doing the catalog recovery.  And yes, I removed the original plug-in after I reinstalled PSE 4.0 and added the 3.7 plug-in back in.  And no, I do not want to upgrade to a newer version of PSE.  I want to know what has changed.
Are there any experts out there that know what the answer is?  Thanks.

The reply by PSE Fan doesn't really work with PSE4.
ACR 3.7 should work with Nikon D80 RAW photos.
