Rdbms patch

Hi hussein,
After applying the CU3 patch for R1211, it instructed to apply an "rdbms patch" 7330434.
Can I apply this using the "applmgr" owner/os_user? or to "oramgr" ?
It also asked me to use "opatch", but when I tried to run opatch it is not found.
How do I install opatch?
Thanks

Hi,
Add Opatch to the $PATH manually or set it in the oracle's user profile as follows:
$ export PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/OPatch:$PATH Note: 414449.1 - ERROR: "opatch: not found" or " 'opatch' is not recognized as an internal or external command"

  • RDBMS  patch set

    Hi,
other than Opatch Invetory, is ther any other way to verify my RDBMS patch set version ? It should be 10.1.0.4.0 .
I have installed Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0.
    Many thanks.

If you have installed 10.2.0.1, possible path set levels would be 10.2.0.2, 10.2.0.3, and so on.

  • RDBMS PATCHES FOR 8.49

    Hi,
we are installing DB 10g R2 for peoplesoft 8.49. In Title: Operating System, RDBMS & Additional Component Patches Required for Installation on PT 8.49
    Topic: CC - Platforms
it is said to apply :
    Windows platform specific patch
bundles are available but the patch
    number varies based on platform:
    For ORACLE on
    10gR2 10.2.0.1 WINDOWS 32 BIT
    use Patch# 5500927
But I can not find it on METALINK not with this number 5500927 not among RDBMS for 10.2.0.1.
Can you please help me ?
    Thank you.

I found it onto the Metalink website.
On metalink, click on "Patches & Updates" tab, then "Simple Search", then search by "Patch number/name", then paste your patch number in the field, choose Platform "Microsoft Windows (32-bits)", and lastly click on GO button.
It should return to you the patch as well (41Mb).

  • Where can I get the patch for Oracle JMS to work with RDBMS 9.2.0.1

    Hi,
In the following extract from Oracle documentation the patch is mentioned that needs to be applied.
"You must apply a server-side patch for Oracle JMS, which ships with Oracle9iAS Release 2 (9.0.3) and the OTN release of OC4J, to work with an RDBMS 9.2.0.1 database. This patch is documented as bug 2513629; see the Metalink Web site or contact Oracle support for more information. However, it is strongly recommended that users move to RDBMS 9.2.0.2 when it is available. Users do not need to apply any server-side database patches when running with RDBMS 9.2.0.2."
Where I can get this patch?
Is it RDBMS patch or OC4J patch?
    I don't have access to a Metalink.
    Thanks a lot,
    Andrei

Check out the configuration on the mapping. There you can create a data file. Do that and fill out the other parameters for the bad and discard file in that node.

  • Jan-2013 PSU on 11.2.0.3 over GI & RDBMS Homes (StandAlone Server),

    Hello Experts,
Please excuse me if it fetches your precious time to read such a long request.
I need your help in applying patch over 11.2.0.3 Grid and 11.2.0.3 on single node stand alone databases.
I downloaded the two patches as given below and unzipped it under the directory /export/psu_grid and /export/PSU_Patch respectively. When I unzipped the grid patch I was little disturbed to see two numbers highlighted(So checked oracle documents and found it is a bundle for both rdbms and GI homes).
But I want to apply grid and rdbms homes seperatly, because I get confused when i read its readme.html file, because it talks about RAC only.
If I apply to GI home seperatly, Should I select 15876003 instead of 14727310 , Please check the below document which I have framed and guide me accordingly.
    asm@dat-stb-ora05 /export/psu_grid > ls
    14727310 bundle.xml README.html
    15876003 p14727347_112030_AIX64-5L.zip README.txt
    oracle@dat-stb-ora05 /export/PSU_Patch > ls
    14727310 p14727310_112030_AIX64-5L.zip
Got from Oracle docs: For 11.2.0.3.5
BUG 14727347 - GRID INFRASTRUCTURE PATCH SET UPDATE 11.2.0.3.5 contains
BUG 15876003 - GRID INFRASTRUCTURE PATCH SET UPDATE 11.2.0.3.5 (GI COMPONENTS)
BUG 14727310 - DATABASE PATCH SET UPDATE 11.2.0.3.5
In this example, the <GI_PSU_number> is 14727347; the <GI_Components_number> is 15876003; and the <DB_PSU_number> is 14727310.
Here is my document: Please rectify me if I am going wrong in any way.
    Grid home: /u01/app/asm/product/11.2.0.3/grid
    Oracle Home: /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.3/db_1
Opatch version is : 11.2.0.3.0 ( SO I am good to go with Jan PSU patch i guess)
    Grid patch (14727347) > 15876003(GI component) and 14727310(DB_PSU_Number) > I guess for grid the patch# 15876003
    RDBMS Patch (14727310)
I will follow the following steps.
    1. Validate the Oracle Inventory.
    /opt/grid/11.2.0/grid/OPatch/opatch lsinventory -detail -oh /u01/app/asm/product/11.2.0.3/grid
    OPatch version : 11.2.0.3.0
    2. Shut down the databases.
    3. Run the prepatch script
    cd /export/psu_gird
    ./15876003/custom/server/15876003/custom/scripts/prepatch.sh
    4. Shutdown the ASM.
    5. Will Run the below command to stop CSS etc.
    /u01/app/asm/product/11.2.0.3/grid/crs/install/roothas.pl -unlock
(since it is not a RAC, do i still need to run rootcrs.pl -unlock, please correct me if i go wrong)
    6. Will Apply grid patch.
/u01/app/asm/product/11.2.0.3/grid/OPatch/opatch napply -oh /u01/app/asm/product/11.2.0.3/grid -id 15876003 (Please verify if this is the right patch# I'm mentioning)
    7. Will Apply psu patch on Oracle home
    /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.3/db_1/OPatch/opatch napply -oh /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.3/db_1 -id 14727310
    8. Run the postpatch script
    ./15876003/custom/server/15876003/custom/scripts/postpatch.sh
    9. Run the following script to enable CSS etc.
    /u01/app/asm/product/11.2.0.3/grid/roothas.pl -patch
    /u01/app/asm/product/11.2.0.3/grid/bin/crsctl check has
    /u01/app/asm/product/11.2.0.3/grid/bin/crsctl check css
    10. If CSS is not online ran the below command.
    /u01/app/asm/product/11.2.0.3/grid/bin/crsctl modify resource "ora.cssd" -attr "AUTO_START=1"
    /u01/app/asm/product/11.2.0.3/grid/bin/crsctl modify resource "ora.diskmon" -attr "AUTO_START=1"
    /u01/app/asm/product/11.2.0.3/grid/bin/crsctl stop has
    /u01/app/asm/product/11.2.0.3/grid/bin/crsctl start has
    11. Bring Up the ASM and apply as shown below and same way for Databases.
    @catbundle.sql psu apply
    12. Finally will run the below command on grid and Oracle.
    /u01/app/asm/product/11.2.0.3/grid/OPatch/opatch lsinventory
    /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.3/db_1/OPatch/opatch lsinventory
If steps are different please provide the right steps.
    THanks in anticipation

    Let me suggest something:
Use a response file for applying a PSU on any Grid construction. It's sounds litte bit like voodoo, but given you did the usual preparation and checking, it's usually just three steps:
    * Apply p6880880 for the most recent OPatch utility (you have to do this anyway as a prereq of the PSU)
    * Create the response file (execute $ORACLE_HOME/OPatch/ocm/bin/emocmrsp - this binary comes with recent p6880880's) and move it to any convenient directory for the next step
    * Do "opatch auto ./install/11203psu5 -ocmrf ./ocm.rsp"
I did it this way seven times now, and can't see a reason not to make it my common for the future.

    Martin Klier

  • 10.2.0.3 Patch

Tried to apply the 10.2.0.3 RDBMS patch to 10.2.0.1 Client. Installer stated there is nothing to patch. Is there a separate 10.2.0.3 patch for the 10.2.0.1 Client?

Did you select a correct ORACLE_HOME location? This is common error when the incorrect directory is selected.

  • Patch download from OTN

    Hi,
Would it be possible to make the oracle RDBMS patches available for downloading from the OTN-site?
I've tried many times to download the 8.1.7.2 patch for AIX from metalink, but the download (260 MB) crashes after a few MB's. (I am in Gabon, Afrika, with not very stable internet connection).
I haven't been able to get any resuming download manager to work with the site.
From the OTN site however, I can download big files, because my download manager can resume files from this site. If the patches were on the same server, I could download them.
Sending patches via mail, on cd, is not an option, because mail can take months, and even not arrive at all here.
    I hope you can help,
    Ruud Schilders ([email protected])

The list of [OPN benefits|http://www.oracle.com/partners/home/why_allusers/en/assess.html] on the Oracle Partner site is probably the first place to look.
OPN members do get Metalink access, which does technically allow you to download patchsets. It does not, however, give you a license for those patchsets (i.e. you still need to have a proper production license and a proper support license).

  • RSF patches for oracle 10gAS

    Hi,
    My current Environment:
    Applications: R12.1.1
    DataBase: 11.2.0.2
    Linux: 5.3 OEL 32 Bit.
I am referring to Doc "Upgrading OracleAS 10g Forms and Reports in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 [ID 437878.1] "
To upgrade my R12.1.1 to R12.1.3.
In the above mentioned doc do i have to apply RSF patches. Are they must ??
In case if i already upgraded my appl. to R12.1.3 can they be applied later???
    Thanks,
    Taher

Oracle suggested to apply patch 3559326, this is RDBMS patch and its inlucded in 10.2.0.3 and 11.1.0.6 Bug 3559326 - Pro C errors for "naked" type declarations [ID 3559326.8], still do we need to apply patch to 11g R2..?, but in document saying that apply to the OracleAS 10.1.2 Oracle Home. , its confusing here, can you clarify me on this .You still need to apply the patch regardless of your database version as you have to apply it to (OracleAS 10.1.2 Oracle Home).
    Thanks,
    Hussein

    Cheers,

    Hi,
There should be a spatial patch set for 8.1.7.3 within a few week available on metalink.
As of 9.0.1.2, spatial patches are included in the rdbms patch set.

  • Recommended patches for 10G OLAP?

    Hi,
Can anyone giude or suggest which patches one should install to view and use the latest OLAP suite features properly.
Currently I have installed the following :
    1. 10G database 10.1.03
    2. Patchset 4 for 10.1.03 (4074232)
I also plan to install 10G app server, then install the latest 9.2.1 Web Agent Patch (4194619) , to get web agent up and running.
Do I need to install any other patches? I tried installing 10.1.03B patch, but got a message saying it conflicts with patch 4074232.
At this stage I am looking to import Express 6.3.4 Databases, to upgrade an existing Web Agent App, (which I had successfully done at one stage using 9iR2, and also to investigate the use of compressed composites, on some of the existing cubes.
    Thanks,

Since this is windows, you can only have the OLAP C patch
or the RDBMS patch installed. One will overwrite the
other since the OLAP patch is not part of the RDBMS
patch 4. If you want to use OLAP, I recommend installing
    the C patch.
