Re-assign Package to a transport

Hello,
Could someone shed some light on how to create a transport using the objects from a transport that is assigned to an incorrect package. I had ABAP Workbench objects in a transport but I learned that the released transport didn't reach to the intended system. Now I need to create a transport with correct package and assign all these objects from the prior transport.
Please help.

If you want to change the Deve class / Package you can goto SE03 tcode and choose
Object Directory> Change Object directory entries>F8 button on the tool bar.
Here you need to provide Program name & Devt class name and press F8 button on appln tool bar.
If CTS is in devet means you can delete the entries from cts by going thru SE01 tcode and provide your cts number,and expande the list under the cts.
Then you delete the entries under cts one by one ( whose are assigned to wrong package ) and again change package name thru SE03 tcode ...

Pop up window occurs when assigning package in Transport Connection

Hi
After collecting objects through transport connection, when i click on Assign package button, a pop up window occurs, which says "Change package for the following Objects" and gives a list of all the objects and check boxes with it.What is the significance of this popup?...
By default i can see that some infoobjects and other objects are checked in this.But some of the infoobjects selected here are not required for my transport. When there are large number of objects
checked here, it becomes difficult to identify and uncheck the objects that are not required.
Is there a standard way to handle this popup?..or Suggest some options to overcome this...so that unwanted objects are not collected here...

I assume you want to transport your objects only. So just collect them in Transport Connection as you are doing now and make sure you have checked all required objects by you. And then just click Transport Icon (Truck). If any object from your list dont have yet package assigned, you can assign and then further collect in by giving transport number. You dont need to click Assign Package button.

Manual assignment of object into Transport request

Hi Experts,
Very recently I saw in my developement system that one object ( ABAP Report ) has been assigned directly to the Transport request number not into the task number . I have also checked that the object is not locked into TR which should be normally locked.
My Question is that how it is possible and is their any advantage / disadvantage to follow this type of way ?
Also if another user wants to change the same report , then will another new TR be generated or new task of same TR be generated ?

Ideally the objects should get included in a TR when we change/create a object assigned to a package.But while manually adding an object to a TR one needs to be sure about the PROGRAM ID and OBJECT TYPE of that object and the rest of the subobjects related to it.If we manually add an object in a TR there is a chance that the related subobjects will not get transported.
So.the best way is only to get the objects added to the TR automatically while creating the TR.But,sometimes it will be helpful if we know the mechanism of adding the objects in the TR manually.Sometimes

Ojects from Package cannot be transported

Hello,
When I try and release a transport request, I get the following message.
Objects in package ZXI cannot be edited in transportable Workbench requests in the current system DXA. The transport routes are configured such that objects from package ZXI can only be edited in local Workbench requests.
the configuration of the transport routes must be corrected in the Transport Management System (TMS).
Kindly help me add this package to the transport routes.
Currently the Transport layer in STMS has name ZDXA.

While creating a package you have to specify teh transport layer.

Assign Package for Different Teams

Hi,
I have a Problem in assigning different package to different Teams. I am assigned to the following,
1. Task Profile with all 3 Admin tasks enabled
2. Member access Profile with R/W access to all secured Dimension Members.
3. Not assigned to any TEAM.
in my system.
The Problem is, when i try to assign Package for any end user Teams using "eData --> Manage Team user package access". i dont get any team in the window comming.
And if modify my account, such that assigning my ID to some TEAM say ADMIN which has access to same task and member access profile which i have, then if i try "eData --> Manage Team user package access" i get the ADMIN team in the window.
Please let me know how to get all the teams present in the APPSET or what should be the access provided so that i can get all Teams.

I've created one webdynpro Component and saved it in Local Object. Inside that component i've created OTR Text...
But nw i want to assign Package to that Webdynpro Component. I assigned Package to that Component.But I cant able to assign Package to that OTR Text.
Wat should i do for assigning package to the OTR text ?

1. Go to TCode: SOTR_EDIT
2. Select Short Text and click button Find
3. Select Object Type and search your OTR Text
4. Go to: Menu -> Concept -> Reassign.
5. Choose your new package.

About package name and transport request number

Hello Gurus,
I know when doing some changes in the sap bw system, and performing activation subsequently , you are prompted to save the changes into some package and transport request. my question is:
in the real project, where does those package name and transport request number come from? make up by myself or provided by project management, or someone else? if doing by youself, how to make up package name and transport request number ?

package is like a folder in windows.. u create package for a project and than collect all the relevant transports in it.
to create package u use SE80.. Transport req number are configured by basis team.. its usually source system ID and running serial number...
package name can be decided by tech architect or by ur team manager..

Package and the transport number for Parameter id

Hi ,
Based on a posting earlier to create a Parameter id ,
wanted to know what is is the best practice to fill in the PACKAGE NAME while creating a Parameter id in SM30 table TPARA?

Create parameter IDs via SE80, this should take care of package and transport assignment.
Edit: I just tried via SM30 for TPARA, asks for package as well, so what is your problem?

Package Class in Transport Collector

When i Collect my Objects in the Transport Collector, I find that many of them are attached to a different Package class. there many such sub objects too. some of them i changed by right click -> change object directory. but some 300+ objects are still residing in another package.
CAN I change the same by updating a table called TADIR by writing an ABAP code ??
Or shud i continue to manually change the class.

if you change the object directory entry (e.g. package of an object), the SAP system is doing some more things than just changing the TADIR table: it is locking the object and connecting it to a transport request, also some checks are performed, e.g. whether the namespace of the package is allowed for the object. To avoid inconsistencies, I would <b>not</b> prefer writing an ABAP in this case.

Saving Search Help - Problem assigning package

Hi,
I have developed a ALV report, Where I have used only one 'Z' table. I want to create search help for a particular input field in the selection screen.
I tried to create search help in se11.
After giving all the required information, I am not able to save it under any package at all.
It gives an information saying, Search help cannot be assigned under this package.
I have tried it under many packages and also tried to save it as a local object, But no go.
How can I save and activate this ?

Hi
I think you created search help name not starting with Y or Z, but with SAP reserved names. Because of this you are not able to save by assigning a package and TR.
Please change the same to starting with Y or Z.

SE09 is the transaction code for workbench organiser.Workbench organiser is the set of utilities for development change management.All Development changes are tracked via Workbench organiser.
SE10 is for Customosing organiser.Customising organiser is the set of tools for customising change management.All customizing changes are tracked via customising organiser.

CRM Support Package Manager - Add transport request to queue

Hi,
I'm applying CRM Support Packages with SP_MANAGER on the production system.
I already applied these SP on the development system, I performed an SPAU adjustment, selected the corresponding transport request to use it on the production system, but SP_MANAGER didn't asked for this transport on the production system.
How can I add the SPAU adjustment to the queue with SP_MANAGER ?

That's why I opened this message: in step 1 of the procedure described by the link (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/EN/de/151042f664e12ce10000000a1550b0/content.htm), the system should ask for a transport request. This is not the case here, despite the fact that the correct setting is set in SPAM.
Any other idea ?
That's not a problem since I can use a workaround (import via STMS when the system asks to perform the adjustment), but I wonder why the system doesn't ask for a transport request in the case of a CRM system.
