I am new to BSP and I want to check the username and password form database and according to that the view should navigate.Can anyone give me their suggestions.

Hi,
Do you mean logon check? If yes, this is automatically done when accessing the BSP.
If no, you can perform any ABAP statement in the BSP page Initialization or BSP controller. For example, you can read a database table or perform an authority check like you would do in an ABAP report.

Why does "SELECT * FROM [database].[schema].[table]" not work in Azure ?
Hi all
In Microsoft Azure I have 2 databases.
I work since more than 10 years with T-SQL and I always use
fully qualified object names, means "[database].[schema].[table]".
When I now make a connection to my database "A" in Azure and
write a Query against database "B" ("SELECT * FROM [B].[schema].[table]")
I get an exception. Of course when I connect to database "B" it works
but again not to database "A". When I use "SELECT * FROM [schema].[table]"
with the right database connected, it also works in Azure.
Hope you understand what I mean :-)
In MS-SQL, this of course works fine.
Well my question is: What sense does this make ??
Do I now have to re-write everything just for azure or will this behavior changed sometimes ?
I know MS-SQL is not the same like Azure-SQL, but hey; does Microsoft think all projects have only one database ?? :-)

According to your description, you want to retrieval data cross database in SQL Azure, right?
As June said, Currently cross database joins are not supported in SQL Azure. Also you cannot change database mid query so you cannot, for example, put a USE [MyDB] in your query either. Please refer to the link below to see the details.

Emailid validation from database
Hi Friends,
I created a employee registration form.In that form, employee mail id should be entered.The mail id is successfully registered.Again for another employee if i am trying to allocate the same mail id then it should show me an error that mail id already exists.I have tried but its validating for only one mail id.If other mail id is entered it is accepting for many times.Can anyone help me in this issue.

I am trying to use the relatively new Code First from Database with the newest EF (6.x) and on an Oracle database (11g, but I have installed the newest ODTwithODAC). First of all, it works fine as long as the connection string is inside the App.Config file. But when I try to build it dynamically in the C# code (or rather, statically at the moment) it fails. I have it working with a dynamically built connection string when doing Model from Database though, so I'm at a loss right now.
First, I have created a second constructor for the context class that takes a string and does base(connectionString). Then I build the connection string via
OracleConnectionStringBuilder oracleBuilder = new OracleConnectionStringBuilder();
oracleBuilder.DataSource = "TEST.BLA.COM";
oracleBuilder.UserID = "ABC";
oracleBuilder.Password = "abc";
oracleBuilder.PersistSecurityInfo = true;
string connection = oracleBuilder.ToStrin();
Now trying to open an EntityConnection by giving to it this provider-specific connection string (or even the static one from the App.Config) doesn't work; I get "keyword not supported: user id"). Trying it by creating a context and giving this connection string doesn't work either. I'm pretty sure that this is because I didn't specify the provider to use; after all, it should use the Oracle.ManagedDataAccess.Client provider and not an SQL Server based one.
I then tried to get around this by using an EntityConnectionStringBuilder on top and specifying the provider keyword there, but then I get "keyword not supported: provider" when using it in the context constructor, and "the 'metadata' keyword is always required" when using it with the EntityConnection constructor.
As I said above: I bet it's the provider that I have to specify somehow, but I don't know how. The code that does work is the following:

Update Model from database does not update Nullable Property -- Possible bug?
Hi,
I don't know if this is the correct forum.
When updating Model from database seems does not update the entity nullable property.
and it will not update the Default Value from the Backend (MSSQL) also.
I am using VS2008 SP1 3.5EF, XP64Bit Machine.

got many problems.. easy to fix...
but some query stop working:

throw this error: A relationship multiplicity constraint violation occurred: An EntityReference expected at least one related object, but the query returned no related objects from the data store.
i get this error only when PK is greater than char(10)...
with SQL profiler.. i saw that PK was truncated to char(10) :

Error while retreiving xml file from database
Hi-
I am trying to configure Planning and getting the following error message at instance configuration step:
"Error while retreiving xml file from database"
We looked at PlanningSystemDB.properties, changes server name to its ip, reinstalled planning, made sure both auth methods are selected (sql server and windows), created new relational repository.. still the same error.

Thanks for any help.After spending 2+ hrs with Hyperion Support nothing got resolved.. Just to give more background on this problem, we originally reconfigured all Hyperion components to use different SQL server, that is when the problem started happening as soon as we got to Planning Instance Configuration. Could this be the situations when old server name is still somewhere in the system?.. Could this be Shared Services problem.

You need to invoke a method from your jsp file which interacts with the database. If you are following the MVC pattern which segregates the View and Contoller part, invoke the controller jsp from your View using the include tag.

Best Practice on querying Data from Database
Hello and I was wondering what is the preferred and best practice for querying data from an SQL database inside a JSP page. Is it using the JSTL library or another method? Thanks
It depends on the size of the application really.
The "correct and preferred" approach in a large MVC app would be to have a seperate class that does all the database access, retrieving the data into java objects.

You then "save" the data into request/session attributes, and forward to a jsp page to render the result.
Most approaches recommend a separation between JSP (the view) and SQL code.
The JSTL sql tags are provided more for "quick and dirty" code applicable in small applications, or for fast prototyping. That approach is not really robust for large scale applications.

We have a KMS server with VAMT 3.1 installed. I've successfuly created a VAMT database on a separate SQL Server and can connect to it. I've granted db_datareader and db_datawriter permission to AD security group for this database; however, no
one can connect to this database using VAMT - the message "The specified database is not a valid VAMT database" is shown. What is incorrect?Does it match this symptom and events?

The database table dbtab must be set up in the same way as described for the EXPORT statement . For id, a flat, character-type data object is expected that contains the identification of the data cluster, and the two-digit area ar must be specified directly.
After TO, a work area wa that has the same data type as the database table dbtab can be specified. During import, the values of the database fields that are between the fields SRTF2 and CLUSTR are assigned to the components of wa with the same name.
If the database table dbtab is client-dependent, a flat, character-type field cl can be specified after the addition CLIENT. This field contains a client identification. If the addition is not specified, the current client is used.
Outside of classes, the addition TO wa can be omitted. Instead, a table work area for the database table dbtab can be declared using the statement TABLES. Then, during the import, the values of the database fields that are between the fields SRTF2 and CLUSTR are assigned to the component with the same name in the table work area dbtab. In addition, outside of classes, the specification id can be replaced by the obsolete specification obs_id.
Example

How to delete a row from database table in facade client
Hi all,
I followed the tutorial in creating a persistence entity from database table, then a session facade. Then I followed the tutorial to create a sample client to test the model. In the session facade, I could use persistEntity method to insert a record to the database. I am just thinking of an extension to the tutorial, i.e., being able to delete the record too. So I created a new method removeEntity in the session facade

and called it in the sample client. It was executed without any error, but the record in the table still exists.

When trying to create a new user profile service application on a new SharePoint install I get the following error:
"The specified database is not a valid synchronization database"
The installation then fails and does not create the third database.
I found some threads with similar problems but it involved upgrading an existing db. In this case we want to create a new one. Here is the relevant ULS log info:

I Tried to create another one under a different name (databases also) and I get the same error.
The SharePoint instance has the march mandatory update installed. The sql instance we are using is an existing SQL cluster for other SharePoint poc's.
Has anybody seen this issue before?I had the same problem and could not figure out what was wrong for the longest time. I then had the idea to check in the model system database to see if there were any extra custom tables in that database. Any tables that are in the model database
are put into any new database when it is created. I had some custom tables in the model database so I deleted the custom tables in the model database and deleted the failed user profile service application and its databases and then tried to recreate
the user profile service application again and it worked with no errors -
HP Laser Jet P2055 slow when printing Excel documents or from databases.
I work for a company that is deploying 100s of this model of printer and for some reason Excel documents and print jobs sent from databases print out extremely slowly. It takes 2 to 7 seconds per page depending on what is being printed.
The way we are setup is with a Windows 2008 print server with print queues on it. We use only the HP universal print driver on this particular print server and it is against our standards to install the printers locally. Also all of our printers have been updated to the firmware 20101025
After doing a lot of troubleshooting I found that this appears to happen anytime I use either of the following printer drivers with this printer.
HP Universal Print Driver ver 5.01, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3 Both in Windows XP and in Windows 7 and with both PCL 5 and PCL 6.
HP 2055 PCL 6 ver. 61 in Both Windows XP and in Windows 7.
I have also tried connecting the printer locally to see if that helps but I experience the same issues. So far the only work around I have found is to use an older print driver for a down level printer. For example the P2015 and 1320n print drivers appear to work better though there is still a slight delay.
An additional step I tried is leaving the tray open when I send the print job. This appears to force the printer to spool the print job correctly though there is still hesitation it just isn't as pronounced. For example with a 10 page Excel document once I push the tray back in the printer will print 4 pages then pause, print 3 more pages, then pause, then print 2 more pages, pause then print the final page. This has happened with all 5 P2055x printers that I have tested it on.
Please help, we need to get this resolved because this particular printer is the only model we are currently allowed to use. I'm hoping a newer firmware than 20101025 might be on the way?

The setting i have made during configation are :
1> Reciver Party with Agency,Schema and Name entered.
2>Identifiers for both Sender and reciver channel fileld with values seeburger and AS2ID.
3>Used Sender uses Virtual reciver in sender aggremnet.
4> Reciever CC have modules localejbs/Seeburger/solution/as2 and localejbs/ModuleProcessorExitBean in sequence.
Please provide solutions to overcome the issue.
As this is prototyping, i have downloaded Free As2 client and trying to send files to that client from PI.Hi Dinesh,
make sure to also configure a report channel (refer to the sample chapter in the SEEBURGER AS2 documentation) in order to receive AS2 MDNs for your sent message. Additionally report channels are needed if the SEEBURGER specific TransmissionReports are requested.

Nokia E75 Bluetooth printing problems
