RE: Ftcmd.exe log parameters

Hi,
I've tried your command, but they run. Maybe you can try running it in a
DOS prompt and you should catch that exception.

Subject: Ftcmd.exe log parameters
Currently I am using the Forte 3.G version. I'm having a problem on
setting the -fl flag on the Forte Distributed folder. I changed the
properties in the Forte Standalone Folder by appending the following
command:
-fl "%stdout(err:sh:* trc:user:*) c:\forte\log\my_log1.log(trc:user1)
c:\forte\log\my_log2.log(trc:user2)"
I insert the same logging flag command to the Forte Distributed folder
between the 'ftcmd.exe' and 'run forte'. The command will be like this:
C:\forte\install\bin\ftcmd.exe -fl "%stdout(err:sh:* trc:user:*)
c:\forte\log\my_log1.log(trc:user1) c:\forte\log\my_log2.log(trc:user2)"
run forte
But forte unable to start. It did not produce any error or exception.
But I cut short the -fl command to -fl "%stdout(err:sh:* trc:user:*)",
the Forte will be able to execute. If I put in spaces; like -fl
"%stdout(err:sh:* trc:user:*) ", Forte fail to run.
Anybody facing this problem before, any suggestion will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for trying the -fl command. From your suggestion, I had try the
'ftcmd.exe -fl "%stdout(err:sh:* trc:user:*)" run forte' command in the dos
prompt. Following is the outcome:
C:\forte\install\bin>ftcmd.exe -fl "%stdout(err:sh:* trc:user:*)" run forte
Attempting to connect to launch server at port 3783.
Attempting to start launch server at port 3783.
Running release cl0 of applet Forte built on 14-Mar-1998 08:11:53.
But it fail to run when the command is longer:
C:\forte\install\bin>ftcmd.exe -fl "%stdout(err:sh:* trc:user:*)
c:\forte\log\my_log.log(trc:user:*)" run forte
Attempting to connect to launch server at port 3783.
Attempting to start launch server at port 3783.
ERROR: Failed to start launcher.
May I know which forte version you using at the moment?
Thanks,

  • LYNC 2013 Event Logging Parameters for LYNC server logs

    Hi,
    We have LYNC server 2013 enterprise voice. We have third party Monitoring server to monitor the event logging.
    Do we have default event logging parameters for LYNC Server logs in LYNC 2013?
    Thanks
    jitender

    There's really just the default level of logging for Lync Server Event Logs.  For individual call troubleshooting you might use the debug logger, and for longer term troubleshooting you'd deploy the Lync Monitoring role.  The monitoring role, service
    status, and performance monitor counters are what you really want to be monitoring if you're watching your Enterprise Voice deployment.
    If I understand the question, there isn't a way to turn up the amount of logs generated in the Lync event logs or change parameters around this.

  • About javac.exe log

    I want to know Can i change the output log language to some specific language like "English"
    The problem is that i am using a Traditional Chinese Windows System...
    The log output from javac.exe is in Tranditional Chinese, but i don't know why it always give some "???" in it.
    Some words is missing...so i decide to use English as the output..
    Can anyone help me on this ? THANKS

    only some characters changed to ????Is there anything common with those characters, what comes to eg. their unicode or MS950 values?
    and i just want a solution...You originally wanted to replace the current traditional chinese with english in compiler messages?
    Then, let's just do it. We will extract the files from tools.jar, replace the chinese property files with with english ones and re-create tools.jar.
    In command prompt, go to the jdk installation directory (commonly none as java_home) Then do the following:
    cd lib
    jar -xvf tools.jar
    You should get a long list of files that are at the same time being extracted from tools.jar. After it has finished, you'll see that there are three directories under the jdk's lib directory that weren't there before: META-INF, COM and SUN. These directories contain the sun's jdk classes and the property files they need.
    Now comes the funny part: determining what files to modify. To make this easier, let's make a java app that does not compile:
    // file Proptest.java
    public abstract class Proptest {
    public abstract Class Proptest() {}
    The compiler will complain about the abstract method having a body. The error message is stored in the property "compiler.err.abstract.meth.cant.have.body". Search for files having that string in them; you might find several.
    To identify which of the property files is used by javac, add a unique identifier to the compiler.err.abstract.meth.cant.have.body of each property file. Also take notice which file contains the English "abstract methods cannot have a body" - you'll need this info later. (The files are text files and you can use just about any text editor to modify them - windoze's notepad may not be a good one, though, since the line separator the files have is \n and not \r\n, windoze's the default.)
    I'm sorry I can't post a sample of the file here; I'm afraid it would be against the sun lisence agreement :-(
    Then "rebuild" tools.jar (yes, still in the java_home\lib directory) with the command
    jar -cvf tools.jar com sun
    This time you should see a list of files that are being included in the jar file (the list is the same one you saw before).
    Now try compiling the app written above:
    javac Proptest.java
    From the identifier you just added to the error message you can deduce what was the property file javac used. Rename that particular file to something else, make a copy of the file that contains the error messages in English, and rename the copy so that it'll have the name of the file that javac uses.
    Again, rebuild tools.jar (you can omit the "v" in -cvf if you don't want to see the file list) and compile the app. Do you see the error message written in English?
    The rest of the jdk tools still use Chinese; you might want to do the above hack to them, too.

    No, there is certainly no server side setting that will allow you to do this. Please refer to the following links for more information:

  • Campaign Exe  Log

    Hi,
    When I run campaing automation...
    1.One number is getting generated for each campaign element under Process Log tab....how it is generating and where can i see the details about it
    2. Apart from using SM37 or SLG1...Is there any Tcodes where we can see logs and track our Campaign
    3. When I run campaign it is taking lot of time to execute...what could be the reasons?
    Any kind of explaination on Campaign Automation would be great helpful
    Regards,
    Ajay

    hi
    you can use t code St05,there you give your object name and youcan get details of all the tables where the log is there and entire info regarding the campaign ,just give there the object name.
    as far as delayed execution of campaign is concerned ,this may be due to the job scheduling is taking time,because when job scheduled is finished only then campaign is executed ,also check out the frequency of the smtp
    there you can increase the frequency so that campaign execution doesn take much time.
    for any campaign automation details just have a look at this

    NImax.exe has generated errors. You must restart the program, a log file is

    This error occurs just after bootup, no programs started except windows..
    Running Windows 2000 latest version on a brand new computer.
    (pent 4 3.0 ghz 500MB ram).
    Can anyone help me with this problem? Happened after install Labview 7.0
    express. Installed twice and same problem occured with both installs.
    Labview 7.0 is the only thing installed right now. Also selected "Visual
    Basic Support" install from driver cd's.
    One other thing I just noticed. System info reports 2 processors and I
    think I only have one.
    TIA

    Happy update.
    After ignoring this problem for awhile and installing some NI DAQ boards,
    this problem is not happening anymore.
    Would urge NI to investigate further though. Messed me up for a couple of
    days, and still don't know why it happened.

  • Rs.exe is too slow even without parameters

    Hi,
    A colegue of mine is trouble shooting a performance issue in Reporting Services. He has found that just executing
    rs.exe in the command prompt even without any parameters is takes around 30 seconds.
    Have any of you seen this problem?
    He also found that this is true for any Reporting Services executable. However, for Integration Services executable this problem does not occurs!
    Thanks in advance,
    Tiago.

    Hi,
    We executed the rs.exe using
    the information in the PATH environment variable. The file is located in C:\Program
    Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Binn\rs.exe (SQL Server 2008 SP3).
    Looking at the trace generated by the Procmon.exe (Sysinternals)
    we found that there are 54 hits to registry key "\Internet Settings\Connections", wasting more than 13 seconds accessing this key.
    We disconnected the network in a server not having this problem (before removing the network cable) and it took 63 seconds to execute rs.exe without
    parameters. Subsequent calls were almost instantaneous to return: "Missing required option: input file".
    Is there a way to prevent rs.exe to
    waste some much time trying to get any network information?
    Thanks in advance,
    Tiago.

  • Ccmsetup.exe Client install Pushes to end users PC's but fails to run installer

    We recently aquired a new company and have several PC's there on-site that we have been working with to get onboard our SCCM system. A push requested to install the client was initiated and after a while a windows\ccmsetup folder was created along with all
    the install files. However the client is not installed. We have around 500 computers working in our SCCM environment across 10 different sites across the US. This is the first time we have had issues with the client install push.
    I have also tried to install the client manually and it yields no results. in the command prompt it after running that command it just goes to the next line and the configuration manager never shows up.
    The command I am running for a manual install
    c:\Users\XXXXXX\Desktop\Client> CCMSetup.exe /MP:Server.domain.local SMSITECODE=123 FSP=Server.domain.local
    The event viewer has very little or nothing to say about this either which is weird. So far i have tested the push method and the manually install on three different PC's at that site and all experience the same thing.
    I have included the log from the client PC. I don't know how to read it that well but all seems fine until the last few lines and then i start getting errors and error codes
    which i habe made bold.
    Any help would be super awesome.

    HAHA, yes typo here but not in the command i am running.
    I stated above that when i was running the command it did not appear to be doing anything, I retract that now. This morning i went into the ccmlog file and deleted all the txt in it and ran the command again. I went back into the log to find all sorts of
    stuff. However it does not appear to be installing still just errors towards the end.

  • Incomplete Data logs in ST06

    Hi,
    Could you help me to figure out why I got incomplete logs in ST06. It was started when we found out that Saposcol is not running, so as immediate resolution we restarted the saposcol via ST06, but still no data was displayed.
    I also tried the following steps saposcol -d ; kill ; leave ; launch ; exit. and restarted the system but still I got incomplete data.
    I already logged an SAP message and advised to upgrade my Saposcol version and I have checked already the standard job (SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_PERFMONITOR) it is running. Still no data in CPU, DISK and LAN.
    I got this log file in ST06:

    Hi,
    It could be because the pricing conditions wouldnt have been maintained for all the required conditions that are there in the sales order.
    It could be that the tax condition records wouldnt have been maintained properly in VK111/VK12.
    Do an analysis by going to the pricing analysis with in each item and then check, u will be able to catch hold of the issue.
    Hope this helps.
    Kind Regards

  • 10g Host command imp.exe not working

    Hi,
    Just created a relatively simple form that uses host command.
    I create a sql script using text_io to create a new user.
    I then use host to run that script on the app server.
    All this works fine.
    Then i use host command to try and import into the db. This is when it does nothing.
    I have cut it down to bear bones and a button with the command:
    host('D:\oracle\database\BIN\imp.exe LOG=D:\test.log');This doesnt even create the log "test.log"
    If i copy and paste this into the run box on the app server the log is created?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    hi
    first try to import by using dos go to start,run and cmd something like this.
    c:\Imp user/pass@orcl file=c:\file.dmp log=c:\log_name.log full=y
    What is import/export and why does one need it?
    Oracle's export (exp) and import (imp) utilities are used to perform logical database backup and recovery. When exporting, database objects are dumped to a binary file which can then be imported into another Oracle database.
    These utilities can be used to move data between different machines, databases or schema. However, as they use a proprietary binary file format, they can only be used between Oracle databases. One cannot export data and expect to import it into a non-Oracle database.
    Various parameters are available to control what objects are exported or imported. To get a list of available parameters, run the exp or imp utilities with the help=yes parameter.
    The export/import utilities are commonly used to perform the following tasks:
    Backup and recovery (small databases only, say < +50GB, if bigger, use RMAN instead)
    Move data between Oracle databases on different platforms (for example from Solaris to Windows)
    Reorganization of data/ eliminate database fragmentation (export, drop and re-import tables)
    Upgrade databases from extremely old versions of Oracle (when in-place upgrades are not supported by the Database Upgrade Assistant any more)
    Detect database corruption. Ensure that all the data can be read
    Transporting tablespaces between databases
    Etc.
    From Oracle 10g, users can choose between using the old imp/exp utilities, or the newly introduced Datapump utilities, called expdp and impdp. These new utilities introduce much needed performance improvements, network based exports and imports, etc.
    NOTE: It is generally advised not to use exports as the only means of backing-up a database. Physical backup methods (for example, when you use RMAN) are normally much quicker and supports point in time based recovery (apply archivelogs after recovering a database). Also, exp/imp is not practical for large database environments.
    [edit] How does one use the import/export utilities?
    Look for the "imp" and "exp" executables in your $ORACLE_HOME/bin directory. One can run them interactively, using command line parameters, or using parameter files. Look at the imp/exp parameters before starting. These parameters can be listed by executing the following commands: "exp help=yes" or "imp help=yes".
    The following examples demonstrate how the imp/exp utilities can be used:
    exp scott/tiger file=emp.dmp log=emp.log tables=emp rows=yes indexes=no
    exp scott/tiger file=emp.dmp tables=(emp,dept)
    imp scott/tiger file=emp.dmp full=yes
    imp scott/tiger file=emp.dmp fromuser=scott touser=scott tables=dept
    Using a parameter file:
    exp userid=scott/tiger@orcl parfile=export.txt
    ... where export.txt contains:
    BUFFER=10000000
    FILE=account.dmp
    FULL=n
    OWNER=scott
    GRANTS=y
    COMPRESS=y
    NOTE: If you do not like command line utilities, you can import and export data with the "Schema Manager" GUI that ships with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
    [edit] Can one export a subset of a table?
    From Oracle 8i one can use the QUERY= export parameter to selectively unload a subset of the data from a table. You may need to escape special chars on the command line, for example: query=\"where deptno=10\". Look at these examples:
    exp scott/tiger tables=emp query="where deptno=10"
    exp scott/tiger file=abc.dmp tables=abc query=\"where sex=\'f\'\" rows=yes--------------------------
    You can also use DBMS_DATAPUMP.
    For example, you can start the export job from a PL/SQL package with the following PL/SQL code:
    declare
        handle  number;
    begin
        handle := dbms_datapump.open('EXPORT','SCHEMA');
        dbms_datapump.add_file(handle,'SCOTT3.DMP','DUMPDIR');
        dbms_datapump.metadata_filter(handle,'SCHEMA_EXPR','= ''SCOTT''');
        dbms_datapump.set_parallel(handle,4);
        dbms_datapump.start_job(handle);
        dbms_datapump.detach(handle);
    end;

  • What html code will start an EXE (program) with a click on a webpage link?

    The code in bold below worked. After I switched my browser from IE 11 to Firefox to get the hover on hotspots to work, the program gave me this error message. I moved the EXE file to my local file folder and tried it as shown below. Still no success. Any suggestions?

    Perhaps this might be helpful:
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/opendownload-10902/
    It allows executables in Firefox to be run - it is an extenstion, though, so it must be installed in Firefox before your page will work.
    Another option is this solution, but it will still require a manual change in Firefox:
    http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=803615
    Or this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6472435/running-exe-in-firefox-why- do-i-get-an-error
    However, you will still have problems with getting it to work cross-browser. Honestly, browsers are not supposed to have access like that to the client side file system, which absolutely makes sense for the web.
    That is why you may have to approach the solution from a different angle - perhaps create a server side cloud version of your application(s) which can be easily accessed and run by your family members. I believe you used C to develop the applications? Although I have no experience with this framework, Wt might be a solution to convert your projects to server side applications:

    Good luck!

  • How do I control a data log session with period and sample time?

    I need a data logging system where the operator can select 2 logging parameters: Log Period and Sample Time. I also need a START and STOP button to control the logging session. For example, set the log period for 1 hour and the sampling time for 1 second. (I may be using the wrong jargon here.) In this case when the START button is clicked, the system starts logging for 1 second. An hour later, it logs data for another second, and so on until the operator clicks the STOP button. (I will also include a time limit so the logging session will automatically stop after a certain amount of time has elapsed.)
    It’s important that when the STOP button is clicked, that the system promptly stops logging. I cannot have the operator wait for up to an hour.
    Note that a logging session could last for several days. The application here involves a ship towing a barge at sea where they want to monitor and data log tow line tension. While the system is logging, I need the graph X-axis (autoscaled) to show the date and time. (I’m having trouble getting the graph to show the correct date and time.) For this application, I also need the system to promptly start data logging at a continuous high rate during alarm conditions.
    Of course I need to archive the data and retrieve it later for analysis. I think this part I can handle.
    Please make a recommendation for program control and provide sample code if you can. It’s the program control concepts that I think I mostly need help here. I also wish to use the Strip Chart Update Mode so the operator can easily view the entire logging session.
    DAQ Hardware: Not Selected Yet
    LabVIEW Version: 6.1 (Feel free to recommend a v7 solution because I need to soon get it anyway.)
    Operating System: Win 2000
    In summary:
    How do I control a graphing (data log) session for both period and sample time?
    How do I stop the session without having to wait for the period to end?
    How do I automatically interrupt and control a session during alarm conditions?
    Does it make a difference if there is more than one graph (or chart) involved where there are variable sample rates?
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Hello Dave,
    Sounds like you have quite the system to set up here. It doesnt look like you are doing anything terribly complicated. You should be able to modify different examples for the different parts of your application. Examples are always the best place to start.
    For analog input, the Cont Acq&Chart (buffered).vi example is a great place to start. You can set the scan rate (scans/second) and how many different input channels you want to acquire. This example has its own stop button; it should be a simple matter to add a manual start button. To manually set how long the application runs, you could add a 100 ms delay to each iteration of the while loop (recommended anyway to allow processor to multi-task) and add a control that sets the number
    of iterations of the while loop.
    For logging data, a great example is the Cont Acq to File (binary).vi example.
    For different sample rate for different input lines, you could use two parallel loops both running the first example mentioned above. The data would not be able to be displayed on the same graph, however.
    If you have more specific questions about any of the different parts of your application, let me know and Ill b happy to look further into it.
    Have a nice day!
