im trying to learn as much as i can before i drop down cash on these Sample/synths AU with GB! For ex. Sampletank, Kontakt, Kompakt, etc Will i be able to use more than one tracks of sounds with them, i.e will i be able to have 4 sounds from Sampletank and 3 from Kontakt etc... Is GB limited in its usage of these software synths/samplers?
what is your experience. Please only those who have actual experience, no hypotheticals here.......
I use Sampletank Free (the freeware version) with Garageband. As far as processor use, it seems about the same as many of the Jampacks software instruments. I have messed with many of the settings in the Sampletank window. What is neat is that it gives you a lot more adjustments to the virtual instrument from within the Sampletank Window, as well as allowing you to use Garageband's settings and effects.
Remember: Lock tracks and even the struggling tracks become usable.
Resource usage also depends on your machine:
CPU speed
Amount of ram
Free hardrive space.
Garageband is a demanding app. On my iBook (see my specs) it runs quite well but I actively lock tracks as the number of tracks grows in a session or my playhead glows orange or red.
I also use the Kontact Software Synth with FInale. It also runs well on my machine, no blips or sudden quits, etc. The only thing I notice is a slight delay before the track starts.
Take the system requirements seriously from the companies. They are usually conservative in the minimum requirements and will also give you a good idea of what your machine can handle.

Is there a function module or series of FM's that are used to generate the E2EDKxxxxx type segments?
I have been testing using the IDOC_OUTPUT_INVOIC and IDOC_OUTPUT_ORDRSP FM's, but they generate segments begining with E1EDKxxxxx.
Basicall we have a report program that the user enteres in the date range of Order/Quotes/Invoices they wish to extract, the the program needs to output a flat file (.txt) on the server which is then picked up by Sales Force.com.
Also, is there a way to have in the Partner Profile a generic Partner under the "Type KU" that can be used for all orders/invoices so I don't have to create a KU Partner Type for each and every Sold-To customer we have?
I am very new to EDI so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know it's very tempting to use an interface for such loads if you anyhow have to create one. However, often the volume alone speaks against interface usage for such scenarios.

Well, the E2* segments basically reflect the external name of the IDoc segment, whereas the function modules you're referring to basically just create an internal version of the IDoc. Once the IDoc framework then passes the IDocs to the partner, the segment names usually (depends on how the IDocs are passed on) get converted to their external name. If there are multiple versions of a segment, then the version number will be appended to the segment name.
Note that IDoc segment definitions are only partially stored in the data dictionary. If you want to see all versions you should always use transaction WE31 to look at segments. There you can also see for example for E1EDK01 the several versions and when you then use in SE37 function module SEGMENT_EXTERNAL_NAME_GET you will see what SAP produces as the external name for segment E1EDK01. This function module is basically the one that handles the segment name translations.
Ignore the comments for subsystem, this is basically an option in SAP to possibly trigger further external tools (e.g. mapping etc.) for handling the outbound IDocs.
Again, the funny thing is that via the WE30 transaction, if i put in INVOIC02 as the Obj. name and see the segments, i can see that E2EDK01 there is a version 005, but if i go to SE11 and put in E2EDK01005 structure line and i get a "not found". We just have up to E2EDK01002.
In the old days SAP used to generate E1, E2 and E3* structures in the data dictionary (SE11). The E1* structure reflected the character type representation of an IDoc segment, whereas the other two (definition and documentation) contained actual references to data elements (e.g. if you used a quantity field). However, in newer releases those dictionary structures (E2* & E3*) are no longer generated, because they're superfluous (meta data defined via WE31 is sufficient).

I got new hard driver for my MacBook I don't have the cd but I do have flash drive that has the software I need help because when I turn on my laptop it shows me a file with question mark how can I install the software from the flash driver?
Hold down the Option key while you boot your Mac. Then, it should show you a selection of devices. Click your flash drive and it will boot from that.

Need to Install Safari 6.0.2 on a white Intel core duo iMac. Had to throw out 6.0.3 because of conflict with required software. Downloaded wrong version that was for Mountain lion (I am running 10.7.5). It installs but won't open, says it is for Mountian Lion.
Of course I can't throw it away since I get a message it's part of the sytem. I have a PowerShot SX10 IS with no software. I found lots of versions of digital camera solution cd's on ebay. Do I HAVE to use the original version that came with the camera or can I use a different version? The main program I want to use is Photo Stitch. Thanks ~Jes
You can use any version, but there is a workaround that you don't need to original CD to install Photostich software which is free on Canon site.

How to use the Arpeggiator with Software Synths
I recently bougth Logic Pro 7.2 and it took me a while to find out how to get the soft synths to work. At the moment I am only using the computer keyboard to play in the notes and it works well so far.
If you want to activate a soft synth, choose an audio instrument and select your synth from the i/o on the left column in the arranger. Then turn on your caps key and start playing and press record and thats it. I now what to use the Arpeggiator with the soft synths. What do I do?If you type "arpeggiator" (without the quotes) into the search field over on the right, you'll turn up a ton of threads with all the info you could ever need about how to use Logic's arpeggiators.
Inshort hand - create an arpeggiator object in the environment, cable it to the soft synth you want to use, and select the arpeggiator object you created on an arrange track. The notes you play/record will be sent through the arpeggiator to generate the arpeggiated notes, and on to trigger the synth you cabled it to. -

I stupidly downloaded MacKeeper and my computer has since been going bezerk. I went to the Apply store yesterday and they ran some tests on the computer and it came up with a Software warning so they've booked me in for early next week to wipe the drive. I've deleted all related files to MacKeeper, but in Activity Log it's still running (I tried quitting but can't because it's running under the user "root"). I'm wary of programs now but have downloaded MyDrive (Google Drive) and am attempting to back it up. Is this okay?
You probably don't need to do that.
How to Remove MacKeeper or use the Uninstall option in MacKeeper.
To erase and reinstall:
Install or Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Erase the hard drive:
1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless. -

The quality of photo images (mostly JPG files) in printouts is awful even though the files display beautifully on the PC screen. I am using
IrfanView software for displaying/printing. As far as I can tell, IrfanView is not the problem.
When I print the same images on a Deskjet 5150 attached to a different PC also running XP Pro and IrfanView, the quality of the printouts is at
least acceptable, Some would probably say good or very good.
It's dificult to explain in words the problem with the printouts. A picture of really pretty vegetables (squashes, tomatoes, watermelon, etc) comes
out much too red. Moreover, the red, which appears shaded on the screen, seems to be all one shade in the D110a printouts.
Something similar happens to a view of a huge tree in full leaf. On screen, there are subtle variations in the "greenness" of the leaves. In the
printout, all green is the same shade. In the same printout, the trunk of the tree is all a single shade of grey. It isn;t even obvious that the
trunk is a round, solid object.
I liken the effect to audio that disappears entirely when you lower the volume and gets clipped into square waves in even moderately loud passages.
I don't know whether the D110a driver software permits adjusting the parameters that appear to be set incorrectly, and if adjustments are possible,
how I would identify which parameters to adjust, how I would access them, or how I would adjust them. I'm hoping that someone can help. Thanks.
I forgot to mention that I have used the diagnostic application and it tells me that there are no problems.

you can't define 2 interfaces the old way (even though I saw some tricky workaround somewhere in the forums).
Use, f.e., netcfg:
Comment your old lines.
In /etc/rc.conf insert:
NETWORKS=(Eth0-dhcp Eth1-static)
DAEMONS=(..... !network @net-profiles ....)
In /etc/network.d create 2 files:
First one is named Eth0-dhcp.
Contents:
CONNECTION="ethernet"
DESCRIPTION="Whatever text"
INTERFACE=eth0
HOSTNAME="your hostname"
IP="dhcp"
DHCP_TIMEOUT=15
Second one is named Eth1-static.
Contents:
CONNECTION='ethernet'
DESCRIPTION='whatver'
INTERFACE='eth1'
HOSTNAME='hname'
IP='static'
ADDR='192.168.0.10'
GATEWAY='192.168.0.1' # your gateway IP
DNS=('192.168.0.1') # your DNS server
The names Eth0-dhcp and Eth1-static are not magic. They just must be the same in rc.conf and in /etc/network.d.

Many people have written here about Nokia software updater that tries to flash their 6280 phones with V6.10 (intended for the 6288) and then breaks their phones.
I myself was busy downloading the firmware for a friends 6280 that was just minutes away from being flashed with 6.10 when I came across messages on many sites telling about the issue with the software updater and 6280 phones. I managed to save that 6280 from sure doom.
If you also searched before hand you would not have this trouble.
You need to take the phone to a nokia Service centre to have it flashed now and get it into a working state. -
I have an old Minimac with a 100GB HD. I run Time Machine to an external HD. I want to update my Lion software but need 8GB of HD capacity to do this. I only have 5GB. My photo library is 4GB so since this is backed up I deleted this to Trash. But I still have only 5GB of capacity on the HD. Why ?
You need to empty the trash to get the space back.

Can you pair through bluetooth my phone to more than one vehicle? My new Honda CRV receives text messages. However it says my Iphone 4 CDMA is not compatible. Is there software I need to download to my phone?
If it works anything like Ford Sync, you can pair the same phone to different vehicles, as long as you set up separate Bluetooth profiles on the iPhone for each vehicle.
As far as Texts go, you won't be able to get them in your vehicle because the iPhone doesn't have the software protocols to do it. FWIW, I can't get texting from my iPhone 4S in my new Lincoln with Ford Sync either. -
How do I know what OS I have on my iMac? I've used it as a PC for years and need to switch over but I may be out of date with current software. I think I read Lion somewehere....? OS 10.5.8
Click on the Apple icon at the top left of your menu bar, then About this Mac.
OS 10.5.8 is Leopard. Lion is 10.7

My iPhone 3Gs is now no longer a recognised device on iTunes after I downloaded the new iTunes with iCloud software, but it does recognise my iPad2??
I run both Mac and a PC and have iTunes on both, which has previously recognised my iPhone. I had updated my Mac with the new iTunes software with iCloud and updated my iPad2 just yesterday. I then wanted to do the same with my iPhone today, but my Mac wouldn't recognise the device so I tried it on my PC, which recognised the phone but told me I needed to update my iTunes and this in turn wanted to update my iPhone software. After completing all this and restarting, my iPhone now shows the iTunes icon with the USB plug pointing towards it, obviously wanting me to plug it in to my computer to re-connect with iTunes, but now neither of my computers recognise my iPhone and my PC states an 'Unknown Device'. My Mac doesn't even see it. Can anyone help as I really need to get my phone working?? ThanksHold down the Home and Power button for 20 seconds. And try to update again.
