  • Groovy expression for fetching current user details

I have created a view object that retrieves user details from the database. Also for dynamically getting the details of the current user logged in i have defined a bind variable currentUser and the default expression is adf.context.securityContext.userName.When i give the fixed literal value as user name the details are fetched. However details are not fetched when i use the groovy expression. Can i get some help on this please.

  • ADF Groovy Expression for calculation

    Hi,
I am using JDeveloper 11gR2. For a transcient attribute in a VO, I must add an expression that will calculate and return a value according to a business rule.
    I.e. if 'Standard' then column a * 0.3 or column b * 0.3
               elsif 'Premium' then column c * 0.3
else 'Luxury' then column d * 0.3 Of course, using the appropriate Groovy expression. Does anyone have an example I could try?
    Thanks!
    Edited by: user545194 on 02.02.2013 07:28

for example if att is the attribute that you want to calculate and it depend on val attribute
the groovy exp is done on att
    if(val=='Standard') return a * 0.3
    else if(val=='Premium') return c * 0.3
    else if(val=='Luxury') return d * 0.3
you must add attribute val, a, c ,d to the dependent attribute
    hope it helps

  • Groovy expression for error message in validation

    hi...
using groovy expression i want to display a dynamic error message...(ie.i have a date field the date cant be a past date..if i enter the past date like (02-04-2012 )the error message should display with this date)

For a validation rule on an entity attribute, you can use a Groovy expression to decide whether
an error or a warning message should be displayed using the following expression:
    adf.error.raise("THIS_IS_AN_ERROR_MESSAGE")
    adf.error.warn("THIS_IS_A_WARNING_MESSAGE")
In your case, you can customize the message and access the date attribute in the message as source.HireDate(Assuming HireDate is the date attribute)
    Hope it helps.

  • Groovy expression for column total not working

I want to show the column total. I have created a view accessor on the view object and a new attribute of Transient type and set its expression to AccessorName.sum("columnName").
But its values is never calculated when I test the view object.
Any help on this is appreciated.
PS: The total is calculated correctly when the view object does not have any bind variable. Once I add a bind variable the column total is not being calculated. I have verified this. Any help on how to handle this issue ?
    Using JDev 11.1.2.3

If you could have elaborated a bit more it would have been useful , but apparently i can think of few thing which you could double check.
    1. The transient attribute type is Number.
2.If the column exist on the same view object then you should write sum("ColumnName") else you have to create a view accessor on the VO and set its expression to AccessorName.sum("columnName").
    Hope it helps !!
Else you could elaborate a more for us to help
    Thanks

My new LaCie external hard drive is 'seen' by my iMac and I can go into the Finder and open files and folders. I am using the hard drive for Time Machine back up. However Time Machine says it can't find the drive.
The same thing happened recently between Final Cut Express and my other LaCie external hard drive used as the Scratch disk. It fixed itself.
I've run out of ideas. Help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

have you done some searches on FCPx and time machine? Is there a known issue with using a TM drive with FCPx? dunno but ...wait...I'll take 60 sec for you cause I'm just that kind of guy....   google...." fcpx time machine problem"  Frist page link

You can have them both on the same computer as I and many others have done for years.
Just go ahead and install FCS 3 normally.
There will be absolutely no problems.

  • Express as booster for time capsule

I'm trying to set up airport express as a wireless booster for time capsule which is wired to my modem.
I keep reading about setting up WDS but am using airport utilities 5.5 which doesn't have that option. Can anyone tell me how to set this up? every time I select express in the utilities page I get a prompt asking if I want to switch wireless set ups. Utterly lost

You need to check a setting on your Time Capsule (TC) before you try to configure the AirPort Express (AX) so leave it (the AX) powered off for now and go through the following steps for your TC:
Open AirPort Utility, click Manual Setup
Click the Wireless tab below the row of icons
Make sure that there is a check mark next to "Allow this network to be extended"
Make a written note of your wireless network name and security settings as they will be needed later when you configure the AX
Click Update to save any changes
Now, temporarily connect an ethernet cable from your computer to the AX and power it up. (This is a more reliable method than trying to configure the AX using wireless only)
Open AirPort Utility, click Manual Setup
Click the Base Station tab below the icons to enter a device name, password, adjust time zone settings, etc
    Click the Wireless tab
Wireless Mode should be set to "Extend a wireless network". If you don't see this choice, hold down the option key on your computer as you click on the selection box
Wireless Network Name...the name of your TC network should appear as a choice. Click to select it
Put a check mark next to "Allow wireless clients"
Wireless Security...exact same setting as your TC network
Wireless Password...exact same setting as your TC network
Click the Music icon to make sure that AirTunes is enabled
Click Update to save your configuration settings and the AX will restart in 20-25 seconds and you should get the green light. You can disconnect the ethernet cable, power down the AX and them move it to the desired location.
If you need further information, Apple's instructions to setup the "extend a wireless network" feature can be found on pages 43-44 of this Airport Networks Guide.
Please post back on your progress.

  • Setup for extending Sky wireless network using Airport Express or Time Cap

    Hi,
    Hi,
I have three Mac computers/laptops (iMac, MacBook Air and G4 PowerBook), all currently functioning via airport on a sky wireless network (Sky HD Sagem router) all backing up wirelessly to a Time Capsule 1TB which is also connected to the same wireless Sky network. At the top of my house signal strength is weak as you would expect. I would like to be able to extend the range of the sky routers signal which is on the ground floor (3 storey house). My original idea had been to setup a AirPort Express on the 2nd floor to extend the network, but I am unsure what steps I have to follow and whether I need to create a WDS network or not? I've seen some comments that say Sky & Apple hardware are not compatible and it's not possible to extend a Sky router/wireless network using a Apple Airport Express or Time Capsule. Can someone provide me with a step by step set of instructions on what I need to do to set this up? If a work around is required, again any advice would be very much appreciated!
    Many thanks,
    Eugene

    Welcome to the discussions!
Sky and Apple products are not compatible for the purpose of extending your network using wireless only.
If you could connect an ethernet cable from your Sky router to the AirPort Express, or if it's not possible to run an ethernet cable...take a look at a pair of ethernet powerline adapters to accomplish the same task by using the AC wiring in your home to transmit the ethernet signal.
If you configure the AirPort Express to "create a wireless network", this would in effect, extend your network by adding an AirPort Express that would be configured with the exactly the same wireless network name, security settings and password as your Sky router. The AirPort Express would also need to be configured as a "bridge".
Post back if you need more details about something like this.

  • Can I use Signal Express for multiple customers for only the one time $699?

How do I go about distributing Signal Expresss applications to multiple customers?

    Hi Nutter,
Unlike LabVIEW, Signal Express doesn’t have any file distribution capabilities.  If your application uses only basic features, you could install the free LE version of Signal Express on as many computers as necessary.  If you need the full capabilities of Signal Express, however, you would need to purchase a license for each customer.
An alternative to paying for Signal Express for each customer deployment would be to generate LabVIEW code from the Signal Express project and create an executable.  This process is described in the Knowledge Base articles Generate LabVIEW VIs from Signal Express and Deploying VIs generated in Signal Express.  Note that this method requires that you have LabVIEW installed on your development computer with Application Builder capabilities.

  • Love airport express for music throughout the house but it goes dead from time to time

Airport Express for music just goes dead
is there a quick fix to this

You don't really want 2 wireless networks. After you get the Linksys set up, you will want to configure the AirPort Express (AX) to join the wireless network created by the Linksys base station. You will then have one wireless network that provides Internet and wireless music streaming.
Use the directions in KB 302153, AirPort Express: How to join an existing wireless network in client mode to configure the AX.

  • Entity validation with groovy expression

    Hi,
    I'm using jdeveloper 11.1.2.3.0
I have an entity object with two attributes "status" and "reason".
Only in case the user select status id "4" I would like to validate that he will select also reason.
for this I was trying to add entity validation with groovy expression.
so I added this expression "Status== 4 && Reason == null" and also I added failure message.
But it doesn't work as I expected.
The error is displayed every time, also when the user select status that is not 4 and also when he select status 4 and the reason is not null.
How should I write this groovy expression?
    Thanks

    Just to clarify,
If you add this validation to your status attribute then it will validate that Reason is not null when you change the status to 4.
If you want to raise an entity validation just add a new Entity Validator and the expression should be something like what you had:
    But slightly different
    Status != null ? (Status==4? (Reason!=null) : true) : true

hi i got a new airport express for christmas and i set it up as per instructions ,i even give a static ip and wpa2 security ..the problem is is when i come to want to use it it says its not on my network and a orange triangle shows .when i reboot it works..then if i leave it a while and try iy agian its disapeared of my network...i have a bt hub 3 ....any help please ..im not sure if itsa faulty express

I really don't have an answer for that one. I guess that while trying to get things working correctly, I would use the most basic monitor I had which in your case would be the Eizon using the Thunderbolt port and adaptor.
When you boot into Safe Mode the startup is quite slow, but you should get the Apple logo and then the spinning gear below it (release the SHIFT key when it appears.) Then after a little more time you should see a gray progress bar appear below the spinning gear. When that disappears the computer will startup to a login screen.

  • Visual Studio 2013 Express for Windows - InitializeComponent() does not contain a definition issue

    Hi,
I have recently downloaded Visual Studio 2013 Express for Windows (Windows Store App version), with Update 1.
I create a blank app. I right-click on InitializeComponent() in the MainPage.xaml.cs and select Go To Definition. It brings me to the .g.i.cs file where this method resides.
I go into the designer for MainPage.xaml and create a grid of 2 rows and 2 columns (all at 1*). I add one button, doesn't matter where. I double click on that button to add a click method to MainPage.xaml.cs. Without entering anything into the button click
method, I scroll up and InitializeComponent() has an error and tells me there is not definition, even though I was looking at the definition a minute ago. I found I could unload the project and reload it and InitializeComponent() would have the definition
in the .g.i.cs file but as soon as I add another button click or anything else I run into the same error. It seems as if the .g.i.cs file is not automatically regenerating, or it is being deleted all together when the button click method is added to the xaml.cs
    file.
Everything I have done up to this point is very vanilla. I installed VS '13 Express for Windows, didn't change any VS setting, created a project and ran into this issue. I installed Update 1 thinking there might be a fix from the update--no luck. The xaml
file Build Action is Page and the Xaml.cs file is Compile.
I have tried deleting the MainPage.xaml file, after the creation of a project, and adding a new MainPage file with the added templates VS wants to include, and I still run into the same issue.
I have searched for answers the past few days but haven't found anything that addresses my issue (most of what I found addresses VS '10 but their InitializeComponent() issues aren't the same as mine). Any help the MSDN community can provide would be
a great help. If worst comes to worst, I will re-install VS and see if that corrects it--this would be a last-ditch effort though.
Thank you for any help you may be able to provide

Intellisense has a bug in VS2013 where it doesn't recognize InitializeComponent when you start working on the XAML.  My feeling is that if you try to compile this app, it will run fine (as long as there are no actual errors).

NOTE: If I ask for code, please provide something that I can drop directly into a project and run (including XAML), or an actual application project. I'm trying to help a lot of people, so I don't have time to figure out weird snippets with undefined

  • ADF Groovy Expression with bind variable and ResourceBundle

Now I have ViewObject which have WHERE clause with bind variable.
This bind variable is for language. Within bind variable I can change Value Type to Expression and into Value: I put +(ResourceBundle.getBundle("model.ModelBundle")).getString("language")+.
Now if I run Oracle Business Component Browser (on AppModule) this works. In my ModelBundle.properties there is language=1 name-value pair. And with different locale I have different language number.
Now if I put that ViewObject on one JSF, this bind variable expression does not work any more. Error:
*oracle.jbo.JboException: JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: java.util.MissingResourceException, msg=Can't find bundle for base name model.ModelBundle, locale my_locale*
    Any ideas?

    Zmeda

The most wierd thing is that, if I make ViewObjectImpl and insert this method
    public String getLanguage() {
    return (ResourceBundle.getBundle("model.ModelBundle")).getString("language");
and call it in Bind Variable Expression Value: viewObject.getLanguage()
    IT WORKS!
But why with groovy expression it does not work?
