RE: Java on XP Pro

Hi, I was not sure where to put this but here it is anyway.
I have been having problems with my Java applications lately on my Windows XP Pro SP2 OS. I have downloaded and installed Java 2 Platform EE, Java 2 SDK, Net Beans IDE 4.1 & Java Runtime Environment. Now all these I need but whenever I click on them once installed to bing up the usual grey menu for Java my computer freezes and then a blue screen comes up sometimes showing that nv4_dsp error, but not always. Now I tried a clean reinstall of my Nvidia display drivers already but the problem is still there, the same goes for xhipset drivers. Does anyone have any ideas as they would be appreciated?
Thanks

Now I tried a clean reinstall of my Nvidia display
drivers already It does sound like a video card or video driver problem. You said "my Nvidia display drivers" . Have you gone to [url nvidia.com]Nvidia's website and downloaded the latest Nvidia driver. Also if you haven't already install the latest Microsoft DirectX software.
After installing the latest drivers you may want to turn off direct draw:
java -Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true
There are other java2d flags you can try. See http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/2d/flags.html

¿como actualizar java en macbook pro?; How to update java on macbook pro?

¿Has probado la actualización de software? De Apple por lo general los tiene allí.
Usted no dice que OSX que está utilizando.
Usted puede averiguar qué versión de Java está ejecutando, vaya a utilidades / terminal y escribiendo
    java -version
    y pulsando retorno

  • I just ran a software update for Java and MacBook Pro SMC, now my Mini Display Port to HDMI TV is not working. The TV is flickering. The Mac Display is fine.

I was just watching / streaming TV off Safari on my actual TV.
I'm using a Mini-Display Port to HDMI cable for the connection to the external display.
Software update popped-up and said there was an update for Java and for SMC.
I ran the update and upon the computer restarting, my external display (my TV) is no longer working. It is now flickering.
It won't work in Mirroring or set up as an extended display.
I've reset SMC / PRAM / Safe Mode / Even restored from a Time Machine backup (From before the updates were done).
    What could it be?!

I keep saying this over and over, in the hope that people who do a search will find it.  Apple cannot possibly test for or be reponsible for the bazillion combinations of adapter, cables, and TV's out there.  The only monitors that are 100% guaranteed to work with the MacBook Pro are the Cinema Displays and Thunderbolt Displays, because, they're made by Apple.  They're expensive, but they work perfectly.
My guess is that you bought a cheap MDP to HDMI cable, or have a defective one.  From my reading of these boards over the past few months, cheap cables have a high failure rate.  And the regular priced ones have only a slightly less of one.  Try a new one.  Make sure you do not damage the Thunderbolt port.

  • Installing Java on Macbook Pro

I am trying to install Java on my Macbook Pro. The programme I am trying to install wont work and neither can I seem to download Java on the laptop?

Look in your Utilities folder for a Java Preferences app. Since you don't have Java installed, when run it will offer to install the runtime libraries. When that is done, use the app to set the environment to your liking and enable the plugins.

What is "Allow apps downloaded from:" set to?
I'm running OS X 10.9 but I think the setting is simiar in 10.8.

  • Java hack MacBook Pro

Hey, I heard about this java hack on the news and want to know if there's anything I should worry about? I do also use Firefox and if I disable java it won't affect web searching? Thanks.

If you disable the Java plugin in any web browser you use, then as long as you don't download and run any Java applets without good evidence of their security you should be fine. Java has nothing to do with web searching and it's used at all on most web sites, so there's a good chance you'll never notice that you turned it off.
    Regards.

  • Execute Oracle Java Stored Procedure in Pro*C

I found this is a very usefull example of calling Java procedure via Pro*C module. You could find the source and instructions at: http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/java/travel/travelschema.htm#user.
Some minor issues arose during installation of C/C++ environment. I use MS Visual Studio 6 and it works just fine. Also you have to be very observant when modifying "procCallJSP.bat" file where SETing environment variables.
I found some flaw in Pro*C "procCallJSP.pc" script. During the execution of "procCallJSP.exe", when you provide not numeric argumet at the command prompt (eg. ` ) it puts the program to infinite loop. It needs an additional check to eliminate such kind of typing. The change needs to applied at line # 142 in "procCallJSP.pc". Other then that it works OK.

  • No class found on Windows XP Pro

I have this problem, my java programs work well on my PC (XP Home) and on about half of other, but it crashes on some computers. It throws NoClassDefFoundError even when the classpath is set well. It seems like it doesn't work just on XP Pro, (i know that it should have no effect, but i can't understand it). I want to know if there is any difference in java behaviour on Home vs Professional, for example in setting the classpath variable, or in some possibility to disable java on XP Pro. I know that i set the classpath in a right way and i am sure that there is java installed on the other computers. ( I write just small programs and i use .bat to run them) Is someone able to help me? Thanks, Loscarlos
