You should write "C" wrapper class which inturn calls MAPI send mail from
mapi32.lib, that function you call from forte.
For further detail information you should refer Integrating with external
systems

Hi,
The easiest way to send e-mail from Forte is using ExternalConnection class
- no "C" wrappering required. Simply, just use SMTP. It is very easy to
implement and because it could be written in Forte you get all the
advantages that come with it.
On Forte -users list look for mail that I send a few weeks ago about SMTP
email client.
If you can not fidnd it let me know.

I picked up your code and ran it, couple of things, firstly windows and Unix line terminations are different so in your method doCommand use "\r\n" not just \n, this will give a full <CRLF>
On you initial HELO you want to use your computer's id as part of the command so use this line:
sender_domain = InetAddress.getLocalHost().getHostName();
String s1 = new String("HELO " + sender_domain);
s1.trim();
response = doCommand(s1);

Mail Program used by Oracle reposts builder

I'am trying to send mail through oracle reports builder.
But it seems like Virus Scan has blocked port 25 on my computer so I cannot send mails and I 'am getting the following error.
REP -0069;Internal error
REP -57054:In Process job terminate:Terminated with error
REP -50152:Error while ending mail-Sending failed;
nested exception is:
javax.mail.MessagingException:Could not connect to SMTP host: mail.yahoo.com,port:25;
What is the mail program used by oracle reports builder to send mails(e.g.. javamail.exe) so that I can request my administrator to open the port for this mail program alone.

Reports (Builder and Server) uses the Java Mail API to contact the smtp server
http://java.sun.com/products/javamail/javadocs/javax/mail/internet/InternetAddress.html
The smtp server to use is defined in the Reports Server Configuration File
Example:

Mail program using Comcast, PowerBook G4 OS X 10.4.1 and Mail 2.1

There are lots of questions out there but I have yet to find a fix to the problem with Apple's Mail application - is it the 2.1 version? is it the 10.4.1 version? why does it sometimes work and sometimes not? why will it send occasionally and sometimes not? why does the Mail program work fine on the iPhone but not on the laptop? where do I find the answers instead of the questions? Has Apple addressed this?

The last version of Mail for Tiger is v2.1.3 & there won't be any updates/upgrades.
You might try the freeware mail app Thunderbird. http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/ It's newer than Mail for Tiger.

Try closing the Mail app completely and see if it works properly when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

My Mail program is not receiving messages all of a sudden. But I can send.
I have to get my mail at .Mac. Just tried fixing permissions. No luck yet. I just sent myself an email and it came into .Mac but not to my Mail program.
What have I done?

More than likely .Mac but to confirm, at the menu bar for the Mail application go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts.
Under the Account Information tab for your .Mac account preferences, what is shown next to Account Type?
If .Mac, a .Mac type account with the Mail application is really an IMAP account and behaves in the same way so try using the Rebuild Mailbox function on the Inbox mailbox for your .Mac account.
If there is a black triangle to the left of Inbox in the mailboxes drawer, select it pointing it down to reveal your .Mac account named Inbox mailbox. Select the mailbox and at the menu bar go to Mailbox and select Rebuild.
All messages in the message list for the account's Inbox mailbox will disappear temporarily and the mailbox will be resynchronized with the server.

How to use the Eudora e-mail program with new ports

For those of you that still use Eudora as your mail program. Here is how I made the required changes for the new port settings
1) Open Eudora and from the "Tools" drop down menu select "Personalities"
2) In the "Personalities" pane - right click the account you want to change and select "Properties"
3) In the "Generic Properties" pane change the following
   a) Change the SMTP server to    smtp.verizon.net      and leave the "Authentication Allowed" box checked
   b) In the"Secure Sockets When Sending" selection box pick "Required,Alternate Port" . This both turns on SSL
       and makes the port number 465 as required by Verizon
4) Click the "Incoming Mail" tab at the top and then make the following changes
   a) Change the POP server to     pop.verizon.net
   b) In the"Secure Sockets When Sending"  selection box pick "Required,Alternate Port" . This both turns on SSL
        and makes this port number 995 as required by Verizon
Thats it . It should work for you now. You need to do this for each "Personality" (Sub account) you have

Eudora users may also need to make changes to Eudora's Options (Tools > Options) "Getting Started", "Checking Mail" and "Sending Mail" in addition to the changes for each Eudora Personality. I outlined those changes in the "Eudora & server changes" thread--note there is a typo ("smpt" rather than "smtp") in the first post (couldn't edit that post to make the correction) in the thread so make sure to check the entire thread as a later post shows the correct entry.
I had problems with Eudora sending mail (I didn't have problem with incoming mail because I don't use Verizon's servers for that) until I made changes to both Personality accounts and to the Option/suboptions noted above.

I am using the Mail Program with my Gmail acoount. It works fine except Mail automatically bcc:s me on every email I send. I checked the Mail preferences and the box is unchecked in the composing section "Automatically cc: myself".
This does not happen when I use the Gmail.com web access, only when I send emails through mail.

Need Help W/ Different Signatures & Accounts Using Mail Program

Hi all!
I have 2 questions:
1) Say I send an email from [email protected], but I also have an account with [email protected] in this mail program with a separate mailbox. When I compose my new email address from the mailbox for [email protected] address, the account selected is [email protected], instead. I know there is a way to fix this, but I can't figure out how to do it.
2) I have different signatures for each of my multiple email addresses in my Mail program. Is there a way to make each one the automatic signature for the account it is being sent from?
I am using the 1.3.11 (v622/624) version of mail on my G4 Mac Mini.

I'm back trying to get some much needed help. Now I'm getting this message when trying to open Premire Elements 3.0 from my C drive. I get the message "Sorry a serious error has occurred that requires Premier Elements to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project." When clicking on OK or the closing X it shuts down. I tried the advice that I received in this forum. I tried deleting "workingset.prsl" . Instead of deleting it I dragged it out of the "Styles folder and onto my desktop. I didn't delete it for fear that I would cause myself more problems. This way if it didn't work I could put it back into the "Styles folder which I did because it didn't work. I'm desperate now. I'm making a video of our 50th wedding anniversary that I have been working on for over a year and now I can't get it opened.

I experienced the same problem and the solution looks like the following: in sunpro6.mak file there is a variable STL_INCL that has the following value: -I. -I${PWD}/../stlport
Change that to -I. -I${PWD}/../stlport/SC5 and the problem vanishes. The reason is that stlport/SC5 contains files *.SUNWCCh which are used by SUNpro C++ compiler as standard headers and contain correct STLPort namespace information.
