Re-ordering custom attributes usind the load utility

Is there a way to re-order the values in a custom attribute using the load utility? Do anyone have any suggestions on an automated process vs having the move each value individually?

Unless something has changed it has always been a pain to reorder attribute members

Hi Jay, you can make it in more than 1 way.
I suggest you the following:
- create an URL iview that points to any URL you want.
- define a Resource that points to the iview (with a window name, to open in new window)
- define an Area that points to the resource
- add your new Area to the your current Area Group

Importing outline using the load utility

Hi all,
I have extracted my outline using the EPMA file generator and the file is a csv file. I'm trying to load it using the load utility and I'm getting this error
"Unable to obtain dimension information and or perform a data load: Unrecognized column header values"
First row in the excell sheet: !Hierarchies=Account
Second Row: Parent, Child, Data storage......
Do I need to change this header...?

Which utility are you trying to load it with? If it is EPMA then you should look at using the EPMA batch client - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/epma_batch_user/launch.html

Selecting custom attributes from the default helpdesk screen?

Can i select and see custom attributes from the default helpdesk screen? I dont want to have to click through to the details tab as things can and have been missed. See picture attached.

I have worked out the issue. I was attempting to access attributes from the BOR Object "WorkItem" as opposed to elements in the workflow container. When I created a custom container element called "ReferenceID" (as the element name) and used this in my XML it worked successfully.
I hope this helps someone else in the future.

2. What is the fastest way to create and load attribute dimensions massively? (ex. 5000 attributes)

How to extend the WebUI product search results with customer attributes

We found the note 1026956 that explains how to extend the WebUI product (Object) searches with customer attributes. We want to know if there is also some note that explains how to display customer attributes in the search results for products/Objects.

I doubt whether there exists such note. The note 1026956 which you mentioned is for enhancing the Search for Custom attributes. For Enhancing the Result list you need to do custom development.

UWL refresh problem for ABAP BOR custom attributes

Hi all,
we are facing an issue with an UWL iView. We wanted to display custom attributes from an ABAP Business Object (ABAP_BOR).
The feature is working but when an end-user receives a new task in his UWL view, he needs to click on the refresh button in order to have all the custom attributes correctly displayed.
We have only the problem with custom attributes, for the columns containing standard workflow decision task attributes, the data are displayed directly without the need to push the refresh button.
We are on EP 7 SPS11 and the back-end is an ECC6 version.
We have followed the methodology described in the How to configure and customize the Universal Worklist pdf document:

This parameter has no impact on the problem we face. I found an exact description of our problem on SAP Help portal, in the UWL pages:

Extract from SAP Help portal:
Every item type can have custom attributes defined, which can be filled from Business Object or Provider Data Containers like the Business Workflow Container or the Alert Container. These attribute sources are defined within the CustomAttributeSourcetag, which contains information on which attribute connector brings the custom attributes, how to identify these custom attributes in the provider system and how long the cache is valid.
Note that once an item arrives, these custom attributes are retrieved in additional calls to the backend. For performance reasons, in order to minimize responses times to the end user, this may happen while the item is displayed to the end user - causing such attributes to be empty initially and only to appear in subsequent requests.
The display names of the attributes for column headers and labels are defined in the display attributes of the default view of the item type.
Does anyone know a workaround in order to have directly the complete information displayed?

Internet Sales Order - Additional attributes

Hi,
I have a requirement to enable Certification Requirements for products being sold. Process goes like this -
Customer places a Sales Order on Internet via Internet Sales Solution. While placing the order, customer would select the types of certifications required for the product for example: certificate on country of origin, Quality certificate etc. User should be able to select multiple such certificates as required, while creating the Sales Order. Is there any way I can achieve this? I am thinking about using additional attributes (via Set Types and attributes) assigned to the product master. But, by assigning these to the product master, can I see the same attirbutes in the Sales Order in Internet Sales? Secondly, can these attributes (with values) be transferred back to R/3 Sales Order? Any suggestions will be appreciated and properly rewarded for good answers.

Yes. You can use additional products attributes to display the required certification parameters.
But these attributes can't be transfered onto the sales order by default. You need to some java development / abap development to extend the sales order.
If you want to transfer the same attributes to R/3 order then you have enhance the BAPIMATICS strucuture so that the middleware transfers them.
Also you need to extend R/3 sales order to hold these attributes. This is a complex scenario and you need to design a good functional specification document before even attempting the design

Limitation on number of custom attributes visible

Hi,
I am using OIM 11g.
All the custom attributes are visible on the create user form. I am able to see only 8 custom attributes on the modify user form.
The visible property of all the attributes is set to true. I cannot modify the attribute once its created at the user creation.
Can someone please help me out?

I got it resolved.
Permissions in the access policies were not enabled for the remaining attributes.

Global variables for order header attributes ?

The attribute values are stored in the attribute columns.
1) Open the Order header screen.
2) Click on the DFF and check the DFF name.
3) Query the DFF name from the sysadmin Resp, to check the columns of attributes and the pertaining value sets.

Custom attributes added to user objects not visible in OWA address book

Hi,
I am using Exchange 2013 and recently added a new custom attribute in the user object properties using the details template editor to be visible in the GAL The new attribute is correctly getting displayed in the GAL from outlook clients but not visible
in OWA address book. Is there a way to update the display of user objects in OWA address book to include the new custom attribute?

My understanding is this setting only visible in Outlook.

How to pass custom parameters to the Notification message body in a process

Hi All,
We are migrating from ORACLE workflows to Oracle OWB process flows as part of upgrade to Oracle 11g R2. Earlier in workflow notification mesages we could attach custom attributes (eg X_NAME) and reference the custom attributes in the notification message body (&X_NAME) to dynamically build the message body as per the custom attribute values.
I tried to add a cutom parameter X_EMAIL_ID to a OWB process notification activity and trying to pass it to the notification message body by giving the value "This message is from &X_EMAIL_ID" in TEXT_BODY. But when I get the notification message it shows only "This message is from" and it does not show anything about X_EMAIL_ID.
Please advise Please help us if anyone have used any workaround to dynamically populate the TEXT_BODY in a notification activity based on custom parameters.

Thank you for your suggestions. When I try to bind the variable to the notification activity parameter TEXT_BODY I get this error - VLD-10035: The value of parameter TEXT_BODY in a NOTIFICATION activity must be a literal value, bindings or expressions are not allowed. It looks like the text_body can have only literal values. Could you please advise if you received any such error or how could you resolve them.

ADDING CUSTOM ATTRIBUTES TO PORTAL USER

We are using ldap server as the EP 6.0 user database.
We have to add few custom attributes like comanycode etc to the user.
As I understand, the first activity will be to add these custom attributes in the ldap followed by mapping of portal logical attributes and the custom attributes in dataSourceConfiguration_xxx.xml file.
Now what about showing these attributes in the all relevant user management screens (like Create User, Modify User etc).
Can anyone please tell the configuration for the same.
Any input is highly appreciated.

Additional custom attributes can be added by editing the dataSourceConfig....xml.In this case logical to physical mapping has to be performed for each attribute.The attributes created without any mapping may be using the default namespace.
The getArttibute() method can be used for getting the attribute values of the specified logical attribute.

OIM 11gR2 - custom attribute with illegal binding on Create User form in published sandbox

I think I have managed to paint myself into a corner!
In OIM 11gR2 I have added a number of custom attributes to the "User Form" - some Text-, some Lookup-type attributes.
While customizing the "Create User" page within a sandbox and adding a SelectOneChoice item and fiddling around with its binding, I was distracted by a phone call and the browser timed out.
The binding property on the new item is now not correct and the sandbox has unfortunately been published, and I am now unable to enter the "Create User" page - when I try, I get the following:
