I've logged on this evening to find £30 has been extracted from my account and lots of phone calls made to Somalia, Congo, South Africa etc.
I've stopped the automatic subscription, changed my password. Anything else I should be doing?

Glad I am not the only one.
My entire account was hacked into yesterday - password and email account changed.
I managed to log in using my Microsoft account and discovered that my card has been used to buy £10 credit so someone can phone the Congo.
Tried to contact Skype support to recieve an email stating it takes around 48 hours to respond. How pathetic.
Have had to cancel bank cards.
What is annoying is that at no time have I ever supplied Skype with a debit/credit card. I have one associated with my Microsoft account, so Skype allowed that to be used.
Absolute joke. Just looked at the account again to discover another 4 at cost calls were made using teh credit on my account, even though I informed Skype I was hacked.
Guess I wont be using them anymore

    He requested prepayment from my client and the client transferred the money to him.
    He takes money from people. He is a crook.
    I want you to delete his profile.

  • How does one report app fraud?

    There is an app for Pads currently appearing as the first choice for "Geocaching" that is not what it appears to be.  The app is using the Geocaching.com's logo and is selling for a "bargin" price.  It is very obviously not connected with Geocaching.com, but is possibly doing other harm.  How is this reported and how does it get action taken against it?

  • Credit Card charged fraud

    My card has been charged fraudulently for making a SKYPE call. I have NEVER registered payment details with SKYPE.
    Further I dont seem to be able to access a secure email or contact details with SKYPE to report this fraud. This is outrageous. I have called my bank and they have said I need to contact SKYPE to review this situation.
    Surely as a subsidiary of Microsoft you ahould have appropriate FRAUD reporting Polocies. Please get back to me immediately with an appropriate resolution.

    I just clicked on the link included in your post, the blue type, above; after a few re-directs, I found myself at the first step of the process to contact Skype Customer Service.   You would eventually be requested to sign on to Skype's website.
    Skype is aware there can be problems contacting their customer service unit.  Please do continue to keep trying -- people do get through.

    You will need to proceed through each step, one at a time. Sign on to the Skype website as requested. Choose the subject and topic which most closely matches the item you need assistance with.   • Possible Internet Fraud using Skype Numbers

    Hi All.
    I purchased some Rio Carnival tickets in September 2013 from a website that looks like it has offices in 8 different cities in the world, and also has a Skype contact name. You can phone any of these numbers and they are all directed to the same phone (which i suspect is a skype number) which nobody answers and which the answerphone can't take messages because an 'error' has occurred. Five months later and I have been unable to gain a response from this site, having tried many many times via the contact us, via email, via phone. Many other people are in a similar situation to me and we are talking large sums of money. Is there some way that I can alert Skype to a misuse of a skype number or something along those lines?  Thanks all.

    hi there i am trying to clear service up for accounts i never had before since 2013 your dept has been refusing to clear things up.so me and my grandmother have all the paper work hear.i faxed in a police report to fraud they never got back to they failed to respond.so i also contacted the local police and they call your dept and verizon refused to speak with them.now i been to ever dept and all the time we call in that dept transfers us to someone else and no one wants to sit down and look into this .now i would like your dept to clear things up asap.this is been going on to far now that your dept refueses to clear a bill up that i never had service for how would you like it if it happened to you.let me know asap.

    Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you. Please go to your profile page for the forum and look at the top of the middle column where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
    Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis, as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe". Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.

    If the seller will not respond, contact Ebay and report the fraud.  The device is most likely stolen.

  • HELP!!! I've fallen and I can't get up!

    This is insane-- itunes support has been no help in this matter, so hopefully someone can help me.
    I woke up on sunday morning to multiple instances of fraud on my itunes account-- most were charged through paypal & they have been very helpful in taking care of my issues. I also sent an email to itunes support and finally received a response an hour ago-- of course, since it said to contact your credit card company and change your password, these things were done 2 days ago and is totally useless advice now.
    HERE'S MY PROBLEM: 12 hours after I reported the fraud, 3 more purchases were made- but since I had canceled my billing with paypal, they are showing as an outstanding balance on my account. I cannot reinstate the billing agreement without paying this balance & I cannot purchase even free items from itunes or get updates because support locked my account with no information about reinstating it except to "provide information to support"

    Your topic title made me laugh. Good to see you've got a sense of humor about this, because you're going to need it.
    Unfortunately there are quite a few posts exactly like yours - interim purchases made by a hacker after the true account owner has cancelled a credit card (or in your case, the PayPal agreement). There ends up being a balance due.
    itunes support will insist you pay the outstanding balance, apparently.
    However nobody in their right mind is going to sign another PayPal agreement or put another credit card on the account just so they can go through some more dispute hassles with the CC company or PayPal!
    If this ever happens to me, I would continue to go to itunes support and ask to have my case escalated, or assigned to a manager. Apple needs to deal with this. Some folks here on AD will tell you just to make a new store account but as you pointed out, you won't be able to get the free app updates you're entitled to.
    Don't start a new case. Keep every email from apple and always reply to that same email chain so you will have a complete record.
    Best of luck dealing with Apple and I'm interested in how your story turns out.

    I live in a densely populated suburb of Washington, DC. Verizon offers a landline, with which I could use a 56K modem. With one daughter in college, and another one soon to graduate HS, I was forced to subscribe to Comcast Xfinity. I installed satellite in 1999, when the townhouse was built. The four or so times that my front was partially dug up was for the upgrades of cable to optical fiber. Verizon never even offered high speed on the phone lines. And instead of admitting that they have given the neighborhood business to Comcast, they asked all of my neighbors to sign a consent to have holes cut in their driveways. One neighbor didn't consent to that, and, why should they? I have a 4 ton GVW SUV that I maintain myself, and, my jacks need to be on concrete. To make a long story short, the reason why I can't get acceptable service to my home is that Comcast was first, and Verizon has turned that into my idiotic loss for having had Verizon's phone line, and expecting them to care. My last townhome was in Virginia Beach, Tidewater area of Virginia. I had cable optical fiber in 1992, and everyone in the areas now has a choice of FIOS or Xfinity. The area I live in now should be reported as Fraud, Waste and Abuse.

    at&t has something on their website as well about reporting fraud (email)
    Check the e-mail fraud examples to see if you have received a known phishing scam. If your e-mail looks like one of the examples, delete it. AT&T may be aware of the current fraudulent activities and working with the appropriate agencies to resolve this issue.
    If your e-mail doesn't match any of the examples, please forward the e-mail to AT&T Security.
    Option 2: If the phish does not resemble a message from AT&T but is from a AT&T address, send an e-mail to [email protected]
    Option 3: For all other cases (non-AT&T messages from other e-mail accounts, bank scams, etc.) send an e-mail to [email protected]
    So looks like you want to check the examples to see if it's a known scam,   if it is not then forward it to the [email protected] to report it.
     Verizon also has a way for you to report a threat to them as well but looks like it may be more geared towards their own customers, like AT&T does for theirs.
    If you receive a suspicious email, you should not reply to it, nor should you open any attachments, click on links contained in the email or provide any information in response to it. You can report suspected fraud involving Verizon or Verizon Wireless to [email protected] or [email protected], respectively. Please include the word "phishing" in the subject line of your email and provide as much information as possible about the fraudulent activity or message.

    iTunes doesn't offer lifetime subscriptions and it sounds like you're the victim of a scam we've heard of before here at the Discussions.
    If the site you made your payment to made any unauthorized use of Apple's trademarks , in this case iTunes or iPod, I'd suggest bringing it to the attention of the Apple Trademark Department by e-mail at [email protected]
    Other than that you can do a search on Google to learn other ways of reporting internet fraud.

    That's rubbish.
    The 6280 has an "offline" mode (flight profile) in which the media player and camera work.
    The phone you've purchase is essentially unusable to you. I'd report the fraud to eBay since that's the only way you'll have a chance of getting your money back.

    Yes, and those thousands and thousands of users all need to report fraud to their bank or credit card company.  The company then works with the retailer about the issue, as long as you don't wait too long and your chances of getting the charges canceled decrease.
    Since you have obviouly used a web search to find out something about this, have you actually read any of the posts?  Read this and you will see that people work firsthand through their credit card companies about the fraud.  In a few cases they contacted  iTunes Customer Service but they are not the ones to deal with it, though they have in a few cases at their option.

    If you don't report the fraud the scammers will get away with it because as far as Apple can tell it is legitimate purchases using a valid card.
    By the way, the only people reading this are other users like you, not Apple.  There's already a "My iTunes account has been hacked" topic with a thousand posts over the past couple of years so please don't start another one.
