Credit Card charged fraud

My card has been charged fraudulently for making a SKYPE call. I have NEVER registered payment details with SKYPE.
Further I dont seem to be able to access a secure email or contact details with SKYPE to report this fraud. This is outrageous. I have called my bank and they have said I need to contact SKYPE to review this situation.
Surely as a subsidiary of Microsoft you ahould have appropriate FRAUD reporting Polocies. Please get back to me immediately with an appropriate resolution.

I just clicked on the link included in your post, the blue type, above; after a few re-directs, I found myself at the first step of the process to contact Skype Customer Service.   You would eventually be requested to sign on to Skype's website.
Skype is aware there can be problems contacting their customer service unit.  Please do continue to keep trying -- people do get through.

Here are a few extra notes to guide you along the way ...
You will need to proceed through each step, one at a time. Sign on to the Skype website as requested. Choose the subject and topic which most closely matches the item you need assistance with. Then, continue past Step 2 of the instruction where several articles from the FAQ library will appear for you to review, and proceed to Step 3, Continue Support Request (the blue "button" appears at the lower right corner of the website page). Click the Next button, which will turn green when you hover your mouse over it.  You may also skip through Step 4 where you will be referred back here to the Community; no need to do this as the Community is where you started. When you complete the web-form and click Submit, Send; your information is relayed to Skype and you will receive a reply via e-mail unless you are transferred to start an instant message chat session with a Customer Service agent.
If you experience difficulty reaching Skype Customer Service, try again using a different web browser. Also, look to approve a pop-up dialogue box which would connect you to start an instant message chat with a customer service agent. If you have pop-ups blocked in your browser settings, this will also impede reaching an agent.

    My account has been hacked and my credit card charged by the hacker and all Skype has to say about it, is that I need to wait 72 hours for them to look at my query? I cannot log into my account. I have filled in the support form, but I haven't received an email notification from Skype that I have submitted it. I'm guessing that's because my account is now in the use of someone else, as the hacker changed the account over to his email address. I know he did that, as I got a notification of changing the email address at the same moment as I was logged out of Skype.  I use Skype professionally and this issue is causing me a world of trouble. The fact that Skype is a paid service ought to mean that there is better support than 'we will look at it within 72 hours.' 

    So nearly 24 hours later, and still no information either in this forum or via email notification from Skype.  Does this mean that Skype is instead communicating with the person who hacked my account? Since the hacker now has my account registered with their email address, It seems that's the most likely situation, given the unparallelled course of incompetence I'm experiencing from them.  If Skype had taken action on this right away (the moment I made the complaint, which was minutes after my account was hacked) the charge that the hacker made on my credit card would not be lost due to his usage of my account. But apparently, stopping fraud is so low on Skype's agenda that this can go on and on. If I had not been on Skype when it happened (prompting me to instantly block my credit card) there would have been nothing to stop the hacker from making multiple charges to my card, potentially running into the hundreds of dollars.  Instead of action to deal with my problems, I'm receiving notifications that I have earnt 'a new rank' in the Skype community. Whoop-dee-bleedin'-doo!

    Apologize for the inconvenience !
    1$ charge is a test to ensure the authorization of credit card. This amount is returned to customer's account.
    Credit card information is not stored anywhere with us. We just have the last four digits of the credit card with us. Rest of the information is deleted from the system after use and instead a token is used which is secure and is not customer's credit card number.

    It's not a temporary store holding charge as per the page that you posted from (you' haven't changed the card details on your account ?) and you've checked the purchase history on your account : if you log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it, click on that and you should then see a list of the purchases.
    If you didn't make the purchase, and nobody else has access to your account or devices and may have done so, then you can contact iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

    I had a credit card charge-off on an old secured card. The bank i had the card with reported it once and then I noticed that the collection agency that bought the debt reported it to bureaus a second time. Is that legal? I am in the process of disputing them on all three credit bureaus.

    You've checked the purchase history on your account (Store > View My Account, Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11, menu option on your computer's iTunes), and have you made any in-app purchases or have any auto-renewing subscriptions ?  If not and you haven't added or changed your credit card details (when you do then a small temporary store holding charge may be applied to check that the details are correct and valid, which should disappear within a few days) then you can contact iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Adobe creative fraud credit card charges

    Three months ago I needed to change my credit card billing info. Adobe's wonderfully designed web site was unable to process this simple request, "Address is invalid". Whatever. I get stuck calling their top notch India based customer support. After several dozen tries it was supposedly fixed.
    Two weeks later I'm locked out of my apps because it wasn't.
    More calls to India.
    Another week of cussing at India support. Finally I'm directed to create a new account and they will fix the problem on the new account and cancel the old one. Atul the "manager" supposedly fixed it and said I would be credited 15 days free for the insane level of hassle. That was obviously a lie.
    So far this Month I've been billed $130 for my "$49.99" subscription to Adobe Creative Fraud. Two regular subscriptions and a student subscription. It seems my only recourse will be to file fraud charges against Adobe and cancel my card. I sure as hell ain't calling India again. I'd end up paying for 2 more subscriptions.

    Unfortunately that has not been my experience. Not only has Adobe support been no help at all but they have made the situation several orders of magnitude worse. Perhaps if we spoke the same language we could communicate effectively. Sorry I don't speak Hindi. Then again I shouldn't have to learn a new language to use software I've now paid several times to use. After wading through a labyrinthian phone tree and waiting on hold for 1/2 an hour it would be nice if I could understand the person on the other end of the line. It would be even better if they could understand me. When you both have to repeat everything 2 or 3 times you're not likely to get good results.
    The chat box on the web site is useless. I gave up after an hour.
    Adobe support fails miserably on all fronts. I'm especially upset about being lied to by the "manager". Somebody named Atul supposedly fixed all this a month ago and here I am again. Somebody else who's name I didn't write down failed to fix the problem 2 months ago. Two weeks before that another Adobe support techie screwed it up too. And that's not even counting the fact the Adobe website's malfunction caused the problem in the first place. That's epic failure in any language.
    I'm not cussing at the poor tech support guy on the phone. I'm cussing Adobe for cheapskating their support. We all know they are only using Indian support because they can pay them a pittance and get away with it.

    Hi folks.
    So I recently got an ipad mini and an iphone. Innocently, I put in my credit card information and downloaded a couple apps.
    Later that day, someone started using my credit card, buying computer software for thousands of dollars and reloading tons of starbucks cards
    I called my bank and got them to immediately investigate it and cancel it. Obviously, I am now extremely paranoid and desperately want to remove this credit card from my apple account. However, I cannot. There is a fabled 'none' button that I cannot find for the life of me.
    I can only assume that apple hasn't taken the money for the apps I purchased (which came to a whopping $3.) Now, though, since my credit card has been canceled, how will they ever take it? How can I fix this? I just really, really do not want any credit card associated with this account anymore! Please help.

    Anyone? I'm very concerned.
    Also, has anyone else had problems with credit card fraud after accessing the app store? The charges are to places like Starbucks and for computer software. But it started the day I used it with Apple.

  • Fraudulent Credit Card Charge on iTunes Account

    I saw a few of these posts and wanted to let folks know that if you get unauthorized charges on your iTunes account you should do the following:
    1.  Have all your info ready and available to discuss with an Apple Rep.
    2.  Call the Apple Corporate number: 408.996.1010
    3.  Be prepared to go through a couple of folks as they get you to the very sharp fraud folks...a shout-out to Justin who helped us on our charges!
    4.  Contact your bank (again, because hopefully you contacted them prior to making the call to Apple) and close the card used to make the charges.
    We had two charges of $39.98 show-up on our account as 'Pending'.  After talking to our bank we were directed to speak to Apple because they (the bank) couldn't do anything until the charge went throguh (still don't understand that part...I'm sure it's a bank thing).  I came to this forum and found a post that said to go to the 'Support' page, click on the 'Contact Us' and notify Apple.  It appeared many users were frustrated because all they could find was an e-mail channel to contact Apple.  I saw the corporate info in the upper right hand corner and used that number...pretty easy to find and very easy to navigate the phone robots...:)
    I was transferred from the operator, to an iTunes tech (named Ashley who was very helpful), to her supervisor Justin who handled the fraud claim.  Justin worked through the account, ID'd the card being used, found that TWO separate bogus accounts were set-up using our credit card (hence the two separate $39.98 charges), also found that the charges had cleared (where our statement and the bank saw it as pending), refunded our account the two charges, disabled the two accounts that were set-up with our card, and then removed the compromised card information from our iTunes account.
    After the Apple assistance we called our bank, explained what happened and what Apple did, and closed the card and requested a new one.
    So this pretty frustrating and scary incident turned out to be easily rectified...we're very happy with the excellent customer service from Justin and the entire Apple team.
    Now if there was just some way to nuke the lazy scum bags that hack accounts and steal money from people who actually earn it!...;~)

  • ITunes Credit Card Charges Problem

    I received 3 charges of 1,98 each by the ITUNES STORE-UK which I never made. Also the ITUNES STORE-EUROPE never sent me a receipt of those charges.
    Then I canceled my Credit card and issued a new one.
    When I associated my new credit card to my itunes account IMMEDIATELY I received one charge of 1,98 by the ITUNES-STORE UK again! I did not buy anything from the store. Also I did not receive any receipt from the store.
    So there is a major Credit Card problem in the iTunes account in Greece (and maybe in Europe).
    Every time you associate a new credit card to the itunes account you recive charges that you never made!
    I am in contact with CITIBANK to find out about this fraud or bug.
    If there is any official answer by the Security Department of Apple or ITunes, please keep me informed!

    Contacted online MS "help", and they were not helpful, they sent the confirm email to a defunct account, but would not send to the sign in email of my sons account. Just silly. MS can check and verify all kinds of info to verify that the customer
    is who they say they are, CC#, IP address, etc., but choose not to, as its easier to deny and make life difficult for the customer. Thing is, when MS treats customers like mushrooms, we remember. New tablet? it will be a Droid or Ipad. New phone, it WON'T
    be a MS phone (junk, by the way). MS just keeps screwing the suctomer at every opportunity. And we remember.
    So, my CC# is being cancelled, so you can't screw me again MS. Learn the meaning iof unauthorized charge......some call it fraud, MS. Listen to your customers, stop dictating to them! I'm surprised there hasn't been a class-action suit yet against MS over
    this kind of event.
