Re: Salesforce Sample BPEL

I am new to using BPEL (Eclipse), and imported the Salesforce example, and then deployed it to the console and tried to run it. I get the following error which happens in the query step:
faultName: {{http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension}bindingFault} messageType: {{http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension}RuntimeFaultMessage} code: {Server} summary: {Destination URL not reset. The URL returned from login must be set in the SforceService} parts: {{}}
Am I doing something wrong, is there a reason why this sample code won't work. It logs into SF.com fine, but dies on the Query step with the above fault.
Thanks
David

David,
You should expect to hear back from Roman on Monday. I think that the best way to address might be to set up a 10min web conference and use desktop sharing to take a more detailed look at the problem you are experiencing. What is your time zone? How does it compare with San Francisco/PST? Is there a time this week that would work best for you? Is so please send us an email to [email protected] and we will send you the web conference information.
Thank you,
Edwin

  • Sample BPEL processes

    I want to know where are the sample BPEL processes located. There are some samples that are in dev kit but they are all invoked from Workflow to do some other operation not related to OCS.

    In 10.1.2.0.2 of BPEL, I believe there was an Apache AXIS version conflict that was possible when BPEL server-side classpath was modified to include the Content Services stubs and axis supporting libraries.
    That was the reason I believe why we packaged these libraries individually with every project - at the expense of a much longer deploy time.
    With SOA suite 10.1.3.1, the BPEL team removed their AXIS dependency - and thus I believe these jar files now can be included directly in the server classpath - thus preventing the need to deploy these with every project.
    You may want to confirm this with guys on the BPEL forum though
    cheers
    Matt.

  • Bpel-108-XQuery sample error

    Hi,
    I hit error when invoking unit tests for this bpel sample: bpel-108-UsingXQuery.
    Error Message
    asserts the output of the xquery run [Expected presence of child nodes to be 'true' but was 'false' - comparing <bookReport...> at /bookReport[1] to <bookReport...> at /bookReport[1] ]
    Can someone assist how to successfully invoke the SOA composite unit tests?

    Thanks James. The sample .zip file did not have a JDeveloper application that I could see. But I did find the build-global.properties file you mentioned and after finding all the appropriate parameters and changing them to my environment's set up, the install completed successfully. It would of been helpful if the installation instructions had mentioned this rather than assuming I had a Windows and Oracle XE environment. Cheers.

    I do the same thing.
    Take wsdl from axis and save it somewhere.
    Then you can create a standard project in Oracle BPEL PM. Create partnerlink, give a name and click on first icon to take your wsdl. It will add some needed code, you answer always yes. Then you can create receive, assign, invoke, assign and callback or similar and deploy it.
    Try it through BPEL Console...

  • Copying Variables in BPEL using XPath Query

    Hi,
    I am new to BPEL and i want to know if it is possible to copy data from one variable to another using XPath Query in the <from> <to> tags, when the two variables are of different message types.
    I am trying to create a sample BPEL that would receive a String through the receive tag tied to one partner link (WSDl) and then invoke a different webservice using the <invoke> tag tied to another partner link (WSDL) by passing the received variable.
    I have pasted the BPEL File and the two WSDl files involved.
    My Issue is that when I send a soap request to the BPEL, it is passed as null to the webservice invoked.
    Probably because the copy tags don't work.
    Please help.

    Hi,
    Yes, it very much is possible.
    Xpath query provides a lot many data type conversion functions(string to int, string to date etc), which can be used in copying variables.

  • Dynamic JNDI name for database adapter in BPEL

    Hi All,
    I am having some major issues trying to make the JNDI location for the database adapter dynamic (10.1.3.4). I already went through the followin link, but that didnt work for me: http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/bpel_cookbook/carey.html
    The below example works, but only the first run. Second time around the first runs JNDI value gets retained and connects to that database.
    This is what worked atleast the first time.
    I parameterized the JNDI with a variable defined in the partnerlink definition in the bpel.xml
    In Bpel. xml
    <partnerLinkBinding name="updatetbl">
    <property name="wsdlLocation">updatetbl.wsdl</property>
    <property name="CONN">eis/DB/na</property>
    <property name="retryInterval">60</property>
    </partnerLinkBinding>
    In the updatetbl.wsdl file
    <service name="updatetbl">
    <port name="updatetbl_pt" binding="tns:updatetbl_binding">
    <jca:address location="$CONN"/>
    </port>
    </service>
    At run time I change the partnerlink CONN variable in embedded Java.
    try
    Element targetAdapterElement =(Element)getVariableData("Invoke_getFromTbl_OutputVariable","getFromTblOutputCollection","/ns2:getFromTblOutputCollection/ns2:getFromTblOutput/ns2:SRC_JNDI");
    getLocator().lookupProcess("JndiIssueTest").getDescriptor().getPartnerLinkBindings().getPartnerLinkBinding ("updatetbl").setPropertyValue ("CONN",targetAdapterElement.getTextContent());
    ("updatetbl").getPropertyValue ("CONN"));
    catch(Exception ex)
    addAuditTrailEntry("Error is " + ex);
    This works fine the first time, but the second time I run it to look at a different CONN value, it somehow still connects using the first runs value!
    If I redeploy or clear the WSDL cache, it works. But we plan to run it multiple times from several environment so manually or programatically clearing WSDL is not the right solution.
    Can someone tell me what is the standard process of doing this so it works everytime?
    Thanks,
    Shaf

    Shaf,
    Please refer the mail thread for details. If you want I can send you(send me your email id) the sample BPEL process which uses Dynamic JNDI.

  • BPEL Process instance termination based on correlation

    Hi All
    Looking for a sample BPEL (not BPM) Process for instance termination based on correlation (say while an order process in running, customer can cancel order anytime).
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    regards
    sibendu

    Hi,
    Inorder to work with correlation sets, you need to define what is the unique element you want to share across multiple instances....so how to execute a long running process...you can do many things like userRegistration, AuctionSystem, VotingSystem with correlations...
    For that, define the correlation set property and choose a unique id for that...,then define the correlation set and add the correlation set property which you have defined earlier...Now associate this correlation set property in all the messages you exchange with your BPEL ...See the exact syntax in Oracle DOcumentaion and work on your flow...
    Thanks,

    Hi all,
    I have just installed SOA suite 11g.I am trying to create a sample BPEL process,I am unable to find create new BPEL project in Jdev 11g. Can anyone kindly post the link for bepl development tutorial in j developer 11g ?
    Thank You

    Hi,
    1. Here is the link for 11g developers Guide
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11036_01/integrate.1013/b28981.pdf
    2. You need to apply a patch on jdeveloper before you start making soa proj/Appl in jdev 11g...
    Follow the steps:
    Open Jdev->go to help->click on check for updates->click next->click next->select oracle soa composite editor->next finish.

  • Bpel deployment fails for all processes that have revision other than 1.0.

    Using: Release *10.1.3.3.1*
    Hello All,
    Bpel deployment fails for all processes that have revision other than *1.0*.
    We have been attempting to deploy several BPEL projects via ANT script to a target environment and are encountering failures to deploy for every project which isn’t a (revision 1.0). We are getting the following error whenever we try to deploy a process with a revision other than 1.0:

         at org.apache.tools.ant.launch.Launcher.main(Launcher.java:67)
    The structure of our automated deployment script is as follows:
    First, a batch script calls (Jdeveloper_BPEL_Prompt.bat) in order to set all necessary environment variables i.e. ORACLE_HOME, BPEL_HOME, ANT_HOME, etc for ant.
    Next, the script lists every .jar file within the directory to an .ini file called BPEL_List.ini. Furthermore, BPEL_DIR, ADMIN_USER and ADMIN_PSWD variables are set and initialized respectively to:
    -     “.” – point to directory where script is running from because all the BPEL processes are located here
    -     “oc4jadmin”
    -     “*********” (whatever the password for out environment is)
    We’ve developed a method to have the script prompt the user to select the target environment to deploy to. Once the user selects the appropriate environment, the script goes through the BPEL_List.ini files and a loop tells it that for every BPEL process listed:
    DO ant
    -Dprocess.name=%%b
    -Drev= !Rev!
    -Dpath=%BPEL_DIR%
    -Ddomain=default
    -Dadmin.user=%ADMIN_USER%
    -Dadmin.password=%ADMIN_PWD%
    -Dhttp.hostname=%HOST%
    -Dhttp.port=%PORT%
    -Dverbose=true
    (What’s happening is that the variables in the batch file are being passed on to the ANT script where *%%b* is the process name, !rev! is revision #, and so on…)
    The loop goes through each line in the BPEL_List.ini and tokenizes the BPEL process into 3 parts *(%%a, %%b, and %%c)* but we only extract 2 parts: *%%b* (process name) and *%%c* which becomes !Rev! (revision number).
    Example:
    Sample BPEL process:
    bpel_ThisIsProcess1_1.0.jar
    bpel_ThisIsProcess2_SOAv2.19.0.001B.jar
    After tokenizing:
    %%a     %%b     %%c
    bpel     ThisIsProcess1     1.0.jar
    bpel     ThisIsProcess2     SOAv2.19.0.001B.jar
    *!Rev!* and not *%%c* because *%%c* will return whatever the revision number is + the “.jar” file extension as illustrated above. So to circumvent this, we parse *%%c* so that the last 4 characters are stripped. Such is done like this:
    set RevN=%%c
    set RevN=!RevN:~0,-4!
    Hence, the usage of !Rev!.
    Below is a screenshot post of the ANT build.xml that goes with our script:

    SUMMARY OF ISSUE AT HAND:
    ~ Every bpel process w/ 1.0 revision deploys with no problems
    ~ At first I would get an invalid character error most likely due to the “!” preceding “Rev”, but then I decided to set rev=”false” in the build.xml file. That didn’t work quite well. In another attempt, I decided to leave the –Drev= attribute within the batch script blank. That still led to 1.0s going through. My next thought was deploying something other than a 1.0, such as 1.2 or 2.0 and that’s when I realized that if it wasn’t a 1.0, it refused to go through.
    QUESTIONS:
    1.     IS THERE A WAY TO HAVE ANT LOOK INTO THE BPEL PROCESS AND PULL THE REVISION ID?
    2.     WHAT ARE WE DOING WRONG? ARE WE MISSING ANYTHING?
    3.     DID WE GO TOO FAR? MEANING, IS THERE A MUCH EASIER WAY WE OVERLOOKED/FORGOT/OR DON’T KNOW ABOUT THAT EXISTS?

    Only thing i can think of is instead of using a MAC ACL , u cud jus use the default class
    Policy Map Test
    class class-default
    police 56000 8000 exceed-action drop
    Class Map match-any class-default (id 0)
    Match any
    You would be saving a MAC-ACL ;-).

  • Question regarding Polling data from database using DB Adapters in BPEL

    Hi,
    I have the following question regarding Polling data from database using DB Adapters in BPEL -
    If I am selecting data from multiple tables/view to ultimately generate hierarchical xml document, is there a way that I specify polling all of these tables/views. Is polling limited only to one table/view?
    Thanks
    Ravi

    Hi Ravi,
    your question seems to have been answered for the question of polling a set of tables with one as the root, and getting back a hierarchical xml representing multiple related tables.
    However you can also poll for changes to both the root table and its related tables. Not sure if this was your question or the one already answered. If the former please check out the sample
    bpel/samples/tutorials/122.DBAdapter/advanced/polling/PollingForChildUpdates
    Thanks

  • Setting system properties accessible from BPEL independent of ENV

    I am implementing a BPEL Process in which I am referring to a folder in my local server.Is there any way where I can set some sytem properties such way that the folder path could be dynamically accessed independent of the server/environment.
    Ex:-in dev environment I am referring to this location - 'aia/tmp/DCTM/Input'
    in devtest environment I want it to refer to this location- 'tmp/DCTM/Input'
    Can we have any generic settings for this requirement?
    Regards,
    Niva

    You can try using bpel preferences. You can change the values of these preferences @ runtime using the em console and the value changes dynamically without server restart.
    Ex:
    In composite.xml :
    <component name="sample">
    <implementation.bpel src="sample.bpel"/>
    <property name="bpel.preference.folderLoc">aia/tmp/DCTM/Input</property>
    <property name="bpel.preference.customProp">xyz</property>
    </component>
    and use ora:getPreference(folderLoc) to get it from within a BPEL process
    and to change the value from em :
    EM>Farm_soa_domain>weblogic domain>your_domain>soa_server1>right click menu>system Mbean browser>oracle.soa.config>server:soa_server1>SCAComposite>your project>SCAComposite.SCAComponent>processName>
    Click the properties attribute : you should see the folderLoc and customProp and be able to change those.
    Hope this helps.
