Re sizing C partition after Encryption By MBAM

we have windows 7 in our company and we use MBAM to encrypt our laptops
we need to Re size C Partition and extend it using free space on D partition
After Encryption I can not make Re size by Manage Console or third parity software
The Resize Option became Dim
I do not want to decrypt and encrypt again to make this action because it takes long time
So any support for this issue

  • Encrypted Disk Image Won't Partition After Resize

    Hi,
I have a 10 GB encrypted disk image on my macbook (type OS Extended (journaled)). I've pretty much filled up the space so I want to resize. I go into disk utility with the disk unmounted and 'Resized' it to 20GB. Then I mount it and go into the Partition tab. I drag the corner all the way down to fill up the space and hit Apply. It goes through the motions without error but it does not actually extend the partition to the resize. On the right next it then says something to the effect that the disk is read only and cannot resize the partition. The write status is read/write until I click apple....then it switches to 'Unmounted, read-only'. Any ideas on how to fix this? It's driving me crazy. I can provide screenshots when I'm home from work if necessary.
    Thanks
    Nick

Here are some screenshots of before and after I try to partition (after the resize):
After attempting to resize the partition it says 'The disk is not writable and can't be partitioned' and 'The disk is too small to contain partitions'. The disk write status also changed to read only. Doesn't make sense to me...anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks

  • URGENT: I lost the Lion Partition after repairing the Windows 7 partition

URGENT: I lost the Lion Partition after repairing the Windows 7 partition
I have recent bought a new Macbook Pro and then I start doing all the necessary setup. This is the first time I do such setup with bootcamp myself anyway.
1st: normal MacOS setup, the Lion version has been setup perfectly.
2nd: run the bootcamp and setup the Windows 7, done perfectly as well.
3rd: try to partition and resize the harddrive with the Lion installed and create 2 new FAT partitions (now 4 partitions in total: 1 for Lion, Journaled, 1 for Windows 7 in NTFS, 2 for file sharing purposes in FAT). See if I can have better partitioning to do necessary organisations.
4th: When I want to restart in Windows to see if the newly created 2 FAT partitions can be read in Windows environment and can function norally, the Windows setup does not show at the start up page when I hold the "Option" key during the startup. I then try to restart again, still no such partition but boot directly to Lion.
5th: I tried to repair the Windows 7 with the start up disc and then it worked. I can also see the 2 newly partitioned FAT drive work normally.
6th: When I want to restart in Lion, I cannot boot the Lion OS and I cannot find the start up icon on the startup page even with me holding the "Option" Key.
7th: "MacOS Installation Utility" appears. I tried to repair but cannot as I have neither the Lion setup disc with me (coz the Lion has been pre-installed) nor a time machine backup/ any other backup image to load from.
8th: Tried to "erase and install a new copy of Lion", the partition where the Lion has been previously installed cannot be shown, now indicate itself as "freespace" and not able to be selected for my "erase and reinstall" process.
9th: so I go to 2 other FAT drives to do as the instructions to try "erase" and hope the "reinstall" process can be started. But the Disk Utility ends up saying the drive cannot be dismounted/ cannot verfy...
At the end of the many tries, I tried to shut the computer down and restart again, hopefully something will work still.... the startup page now shows a disk image with ?, I guess NO OPERATION system/ drive detected for booting. So I got a piece of metals without any use now...
    Anybody help? Thanks alot!!

Can't boot into Windows 8.1 partition after apple store repair
I went to the apple store about a week ago to get my screen fixed, and when I get it back I don't have an option to boot into my windows partition. The bootcamp partition is still there, but I can't boot into it. I can still see all of the files on the drive. When I try to boot into windows from the startup disc setting I get "no bootable device — insert boot disk and press any key” on a black screen. I went in for a dead pixel, and the guy at the genius bar ran something on my computer and went into disk utility application. I’m not sure what he was doing, but obviously that’s what messed up my windows partition. How can I be able to boot back into windows? Here's what disk utility looks like on my computer.

  • Create 3rd partition after installing Windows 7 on Macbook Pro (Lion preinstalled)?

Hi, currently I'm having 2 partition: Macintosh HD - Lion (~680GB) and Bootcamp - Windows 7 (~60GB). Now I want to take ~600GB from the 1st partition to create a FAT32 data storage. My question is: is it possible to do so without reinstalling any OS?

Do not add a partition after BootCamp.  BootCamp manipulates the boot-sector of a Mac disk to allow dual-booting.  But manually adding a third partition will break that tenuous multi-boot balance.
Many threads posted by people who need to restore OSX from a backup and lose their BootCamp data due to system instability attest to the tourble you can cause.
Buy an external drive and use that for FAT32 (or EXFAT to allow files larger than 4 GB) storage.

  • How to find length of string after encryption using DBMS_CRYPTO package

    Hi,
I am planning do data encryption using DBMS_CRYPTO package. I want to find how much will be string length after encryption.
e.g When I try to encrypt string of length between 1-15 characters it gives me encrypted string of 32 characters. When I try with 16 charcters encrypted string is of 64 characters.
Is ther any formula to calculate length of encrypted string?
    Thanks
    Pravin

The length change is dependent upon the algorithm you are using which can be a combination of cipher block, padding, and chaining.
The best solution is determine the method you are going to use and apply it to the l ongest possible strings you are going to proces, then add some safety margin. There iis no penalty for defining your column as VARCHAR2(4000).

can anyone please help me with this?  i don't want to have to turn off filevault.

Problems such as yours are sometimes caused by files that should belong to you but are locked or have a wrong owner. This procedure will check for such files. It makes no changes and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below to select it, then drag or copy it — do not type — into the Terminal window:
    find . $TMPDIR.. \( -flags +sappnd,schg,uappnd,uchg -o ! -user $UID \) -ls
Press return. The command may take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear.
Post any lines of output that appear below what you entered — the text, please, not a screenshot.
If any personal information appears in the output, edit before posting, but don’t remove the context.

Yes, purchase Paragon Camp Tune for the job.

  • Can't resize disk partitions after Yosemite install.

My disk has two partitions. I run Mavericks on the first, and recently installed Yosemite on the second. The OS works fine, but I no way to resize the partitions. I've tried booting into both Yosemite and Mavericks but the partition layout in disk utility appears locked with fixed partition sizes.
It now appears that I have two options.
Use the undocumented "resizeVolume" command in diskutil to resize the core storage volume in my Yosemite partition, or
Use the "revert" command in diskutil to revert from core storage to the default partition type and try my luck.
Is anyone else facing this issue of not being able to resize your disk partitions after the Yosemite install, and if so, how did you resolve this?
    Thanks in advance.

None of these worked. I had to resolve this the hard way.
Make a complete TM backup of the new Yosemite installation.
Use a bootable install DVD or USB drive, re-partition the disk and do a complete reinstall.
Recover the applications and data from the TM backup.
It took me about an hour and a half once I decided on this approach, not counting the hours wasted trying to get it working.
To give them credit, the TM backup and restore worked flawlessly and all my apps and data were back without a hitch.
However, reading the other posts in the forum and elsewhere it does appear that Apple has not done a good job with the disk utility in supporting core storage volumes, which is fairly ridiculous since Yosemite defaults to that without giving you a choice.

  • COM object model not functioning after encrypting the word document using office extention

After encrypting A word document using office extention, it seems like the COM object model becomes unusable. I cannot not manipulate the encrypt document through COM interface, nor can I write macro VBScript to do some operation on the docuent.
For example, I create a word Macro with some simple code.
    Sub hi()
        Dim i As Integer
        i = ThisDocument.Fields.Count
        MsgBox i
    End Sub
If the document is not encrypt, then we will see a msgbox which tells us the number of bookmarks in the current document.
Now, encrypt the word document using the office extention, running the macro code will fail with error code " 80004005" and error message:Method 'Fields' of bject 'ThisDocument' failed.
It is very important for us to manipulate word documents through COM interface in our system, I want to know why the COM interface does not work anymore after the document is encrypted.

I take macro script as an example to demonstrate that word COM object model cannot be used after encripted. Actually you can reproduce the same problem when you manipulate word document through COM interface using any programming language.
For example, you can create a text document  with the following VBscript:
    set a = createobject("Word.Application")
    set doc = a.Documents.Open("E:\temp\test.docx")
    msgbox doc.Fields.count
    doc.close
    a.quit
Save the document with ".vbs" file extention and then run it by double clicking it. it will fail if the document is encrypted using the office extention.

  • Increasing the Vista partition after It's been set up.

Is it possible to increase the Vista partition after It's been set up? I'm also using VMware. I have Vista Ultimate installed but dont seem to have the ability use the Aero features. Is this because I only have 5 gigs on the windows partition? Also should I increase the system resources for the windows side to be able to use Aero.

5GB left? I think MS and probably Apple recommend 20GB minimum and 40GB as more reasonable.
Just installing updates and patches, SP1 and later SP2, can require 5-10GB of free temp space. Plus room for paging, hibernation, cache and temp files.
Aero also depends on graphics, and amount of RAM.
Paragon Software's CampTune is a resizing bootCD, but you should make a backup first with WinClone which can also restore to a larger partition.

  • Unable to Adjust Partition after BootCamp

    Hi
I use Boot Camp Assistant (BCA) to remove Windows 7 and ended with a message "Your disk could not be restored to a single partition". I am not sure if the Windows 7 is successfully removed.
I use Disk Utility (DU) to try to "re-partition" the Mac HD to 250GB (from 218GB) but after checking catalog file and other processes, it ended with a message "Could't modify partition map because the file system verification failed"
I use the First Aid to verify disk and reported the partition map appears to be ok
I use the Repair Disk and it reported  the partition map appears to be ok
Below is the map of the partition after I remove the Windows 7. I dragged the white color region (botton right) to extend to 250GB and click Apply and failed with the error message "Could't modify partition map because the file system verification failed"

So just clone the volume and then erase and restore.
If you created Windows with BCA and  you didn't do anything else in Windows or Mac OS to add change or shrink etc BCA should have.
In some cases that error happens when creating or attempting to create Windows partition not on removal.
Paragon CampTune is handy but for what you want just use Carbon Copy Cloner.
I always advise using a dedicated drive just for Windows.
You will find more on Boot Camp forum.

  • E72 cannot install on sd after encrypt/decrypt act...

    Hi,
after encrypting my strorage card I switched mind, because of decreasing performance. Decryption worked fine, accept for the fact that the name of the SD card. This was stil unreadable, but I could change it. So far so good, but now two things don't work anymore:
    - first, when downloading an application I cannot not install it on the SD card, it simply says "Cannot install"
    - second, when I want to change a profile eg. select different sound, an "opening..."  screen opens, but nothing further
Is there a way to fully recover the SD card to it's original settings, the way Nokia provided it?
I only own this phone a week, not so happy at this moment (Outlook calendar screwed)
    Thanks for help!
    regards,
    Tom

I did 3 encryption/decryption cycles on my E72 (with a 16 GB microSD) and have not had such problems installing apps or changing profiles. Something went wrong.
If you have access to the card you might consider copying the data to a PC, reformat it (eventually hard reset the E72) and then copy it back (making sure you backed up contacts and calendar).

how do you enlarge boot camp partition after windows is installed

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
You can do it with third-party programs, but I don't recommend it because you can damage the hard drive. The best way to do it is to delete your Windows volume and create it again with the size you need
