Reached 310 FSB !!! Unlocking 14xMulti on 3.2 Prescott ? MSI already did it like ASUS !

hi there , first sorry for bad english :-)
i found a interesting feature/bug in bios version 1.9 on Neo 2 (6728 v1.0), running a 3.2 prescott on that board gives me a 14xmutli instead of 16x so i could run my fsb 310 instead of 275 before. looks like this only works on the 1.9 version of this bios. is this not the same like asus do on their new "unlock" feature for intel cpus ?
now my neo2 burned off and got a Neo 2-P (6728 v2.0) and this feature is gone, please MSI could you not implement this "bug" on/off switchable in current bios ? so many users would be happy !

Do you also have to change the memory timings when you do this? my infineon run on 3 3 4 8.
Is there anything else one has tweak before doing this or can i just go to bios and set it to 1.49V and 310FSB?
If one can achive such good OC it might be worth it to get liquid cooling. If i get liquid cooling will it make much difference?

If the phone is unlocked then you can use it in India.
If your phone is locked, then the only way to get the phone unlocked is to contact your phone company/carrier. The person that sold you the phone in Saudi should have told you whether it was locked or unlocked. Contact them to check and then contact the carrier to have it unlocked if it is locked.
Other than that there is not a lot that you can do - perhaps it was unwise to purchase a phone in Saudi - it won't have Facetime on it if you got it there.

Can't reach 133 fsb

I have been struggeling with this problem for a while. I´ve tried to replace my memory modules and I´ve also replaced my graficscard but it still didn't work.
My system runs perfectly fine in 100 fsb but when I turn it up to 133 it just passes the ide-drivetest then it shuts down. The only thing I can think of is that the psu cant handle the load when it´s in 133 fsb.
Note: I have been able to run the fsb at 133 earlier.I decided to upgrade my system on some weak spots and now it simply doesn´t work anymore.
Here´s the list of changes:
Added memory (512)
Replaced GF mx460 with Ti 4200 (didn´t keep the mx)
BIOS flash for faster cpu-support (haven´t bought new one yet since my old cpu doesn´t work properly).
My question is therefor if it is possible that this small change could cause the powersupplie to cut?
My second question is how much powerI need if I´d replace gpu and cpu with faster/better once, for an example GFFX 5600 Ultra and a AthlonXP 2400+ ?
Third question: Where can I find a list of psu-manufactures that provide the correct figures? (There must be more than one).

Tell about Amps. P.S. gives to 3.3v. 5v. and 12v. Try with only one memory module. You must have in mind that you are using Crucial memory and I have read toooo many posts of guys having problems on their PC and are also using Crucial mem. 8)

Need help unlocking cores in 560 be in msi 785gt-e63

help i cannot get my motherboard to unlock the additional cores
i have the latest bios dated from nov 2010 with a black edition 560 cpu
under the bios section i enable both advanced clock calibration and unlocke core and the system does not reboot i then clear the cmos and i can start all over.....enter date, time with these opyions enable the system refuses to boot with either one one i can start but on only dual cores
i dont have the iption listed in the manual as EC Firmware but i figured this is outdate late 2009 manual since the firm ware that the motherboard came with was 10/25/2010
please there must be a step or process i am missing ???? currently running windows 7 ultimate 64 with 3 gigs of memory everything else works perfectly except for the unlocking of the extra cores

Also please remember that not all cpu's will unlock.
As you state it, it looks like the locked cores are faulty, cause when you unlock them, the system doesnt want to boot at all.
I might be wrong though.

Unlock BIOS and change Keyboard layout MSI laptop GS70 2OD-002US

My model is GS70 2OD-002US with Dual SSD RAID 0. I also have Ubuntu 14.04 installed in the RAID array besides Windows 8.1 (updated from Win 8 that came with the Laptop.
Could you please fully unlock my BIOS and add all the extra stuff you have? I also need to reconfigure my keyboard. I have attached an image of the layout I need, and the following are the changes explained.
1. Swap Left CTRL and Left ALT
2. Swap Fn and Windows Key
3. Convert the "extra \ key" next to the spacebar into a HOME key
4. Convert Right ALT GR key into an END key
5. Convert Right CTRL into Right Click (pop-up menu key)
6. Swap the Caps Lock Key and LEFT SHIFT key
I installed the lastest BIOS from the MSI Site using the DOS method (70E) update. BIOS info is in the screenshot. After unlocking will I be able to set fan speeds from BIOS? If I want fan speed tweak should I give you the fan percentage that should be mapped to the temparature in C?

I can't get my unlock slide to slide, and i've already tried resetting it.? What do i do ?

i've tried resetting it, it doesn't help at all. The screen is cracked though, so i don't know if that has something to do with it, it not bad cracked, and the slide to power off works. i don't know what i could do!

945pl NEO Mobo Smoked and Sparked.. Help?

Hi everyone,
Please bear with me as I"m not super technical and also a bit tired/stressed as well as new here.
Some months ago I decided to go to a dual cpu so I upgraded to a dual using the same board as before. It started up, everything was fine until I'd turn it off. Sometimes it'd start up and sometimes not so I'd just leave it running.
It was as if there was a short? Anyway I decided to see if it was the psu so I took it to best buy (LOL OH BOY) the woman there told me I was wrong in calling the cpu the cpu because the case was the cpu, the whole thing. (haha) I asked to have my psu tested (unfortunately it was her who tested it). Claimed it was bad, recommended a new one (DYNEX) (Specs below). I got it home, hooked it all up and it smoked and smelled bad. I turned it off and didn't touch it for months since it scared me, alot of money involved. No warranties existed for the others that I'm aware of.
I tried to figure it out today and took it all apart and reconnected everything thinking maybe I just had it hooked up somehow wrong and it smoked and sparked again! It's the silver grill top left of this board that did it.. resistor? I have no idea what it is. Looks like something you'd see on the back of a fridge, silver metal with ridges sticking up sorta like a grill. There are 3 black box looking things next to the cpu, they look a bit dull but no marks that I can see on the board (though I bet it's fried by now, gotta be!)
The bios has been cleared.
Previous psu (claimed bad by best buy "computer specialist") Athena 450w (trying to remember what you guys needed of the label) model no. PS-450w.
3.3v=28a 5v=42a 12v=20a (and 27a?)
max power 430w 115/230vac
New PSU: (made board smoke and spark) DYNEX ATX 500w model no. DX-PS500w(recommended by that assistant) 3.3v =35a, 5v =40a, 12v1=16a, 12v2=18a (voltage 115/230v)

I'm already highly embarrassed about this.. but I'm hoping someone has had some ideas concerning things like this.. How do I see if anything got fried from the smoking/spark? I've read about some seeing if their chips were fried. Nothing is black or gray that I can see. The lights on the front would sorta flicker when I hit the power button. I dare not now though.
Any ideas anyone? Please...

Update:Checked cpu (no signs of burning) smelled the board, definitely the area I mentioned. When I hit power, it does occasionally spin the cpu fan but stops.. I hear a hum (electrical kind) but quickly shut it off.
I know how some feel about newbs but hey, this is the only way I'll learn.. to fix my own problems. Besides, you heard what I mentioned about the employee above. lol Some know less than I and they get paid to fix things (or break them).

Hi ya! I'm back and I think I'm running okay. Unfortunately the guy broke the plastic piece on my cpu's fan so I need to find another I suppose.. It's connected with 3 corners right now instead of 4. I knew it was bent but he went and broke it all off.. :( No longer usable on that corner. I couldnt' think of any substitute either.
It's an Asus board. NOT ascus like I"d said. I believe that is a medical term and I misused it. *blush*
I went to get the board and got also a gig of ddr. This board has a nice monitor for voltage, temp and fan speed! I LIKE! (no offense to MSI).
I'm new to the OS I have too so bear with me on the specs!
I was stuck in a delimma and I think I should mention it with this.. but not sure... It's part of what my problem was.. so I suppose it's okay. My problems come in packages, no individual sizes lol.
I had windows xp x64 bit and had too much trouble finding protection for the pc.. antivirus and firewall wasn't satisfactory to me. So, I went seeking an OS, anything xp or above aside from what I had. I found no regular installs, only upgrades. Can't upgrade x64 bit version of xp to home or pro... but vista I thought.. maybe vista. Only thing I could find in stores were vista upgrades and xp upgrades. I bought the vista upgrade (also a best buy suggestion by a geek squad member) to find it won't work!
I couldn't do the advisor as it's 32 bit. So I tried to run it anyhow. It wouldn't let me clean install NOR upgrade so I decided to try manually, my options were limited and it was a weekend. I deleted my hard partitions to make just one, I cleaned it all up and did a full install. Still couldn't register it :( but tech support walked me through it! They had me upgrade my clean install. That worked! Then I could register the windows vista premium! (it's nice but takes getting used to).
That's the update. I've been through hades lol. It was my board.. I'd fried it by leaving 4 mount screws someone had put in the case when I bought it. I wasn't sure why they were there and thought it was to stablize the mobo. *blush*
NOW I know, do NOT leave anything on the case that is metal behind the mobo.. NOTHING.. Unless the mount screws go into it, not the board up against it!! lol
I'm in working order with what vista rates as 3.2 pc rating. *shrug*
The sims 2 reguires 3.0 rating apparently.
The 2 gig of ram really pays off.
I hope to get another MSI board later.. It'd be especially nice if MSI offers a monitor like Asus does.

The only thing that was bad was my mobo. Everything else, even after me trying to start it over and over, was fine. My cpu, my ram, my psu, hard drive, dvd burner.. Everything else was fine.. The heat sink was verified as the smoking and sparking part. I have kept the board wondering if a shorted board can be repaired as I really liked that board.
Sorry it was so long.. I'm notorious for long departures lol..

XP2400 and unlocking (this for ya Raven)

i've followed the advice given here and read as much as i could find about wire tricks and painting bridges and stuff to unlock AMD processors. the problem is, i've found several contradictory data on forums and the like, as in overclockers for example:
- All AMD tbreds are unlocked in Nforce2 chipsets
- unlocking an XP2400 is not worth it since it can't go over 150 FSB
- unlocking an XP2400 is worth it since you can reach 180 or more
on my board, lower multis are available but any attempt to use them results in no boot, even at 133.
my aim is to get to 166x12 wich would be stock speed but would allow me to set ram at 333 without loosing the 1:1 ratio. i've 'paged' you raven since you have this same CPU wiretricked.

Isopropyl Alcohol is what you want to use to clean it. If you're going to be
OC'ing your CPU which it sounds like you are, you want to make sure your cooler
is rated above your 2400. Also make sure you have case fans, I would
recommend two intakes in the front and 2 outputs in the back. Also space out your
drives if you can for good airflow. Round cables wouldn't hurt either.

just found out you can reach 333 fsb by shorting the L 12 jumpers on the t-bred :D

Do you happen to know what code is on your mobile chip? Putting the code into google will tell you what voltage etc. is needed. There are different varients, so it's best to check that.
I think the mobile CPUs all run at 266mhz FSB though, although many you can overclock to run at what you want, with the unlocked multipliers.
With my XP1800-M I changed the FSB to 333mhz, as it wouldn't run at 400mhz. Just remember to set as half in the BIOS. Remember to set the memory running at the same speed as the CPU.

AT&T Unlock iPhone 4 without a Sim Card installed question

I just put in my request to unlock my iPhone 4 from AT&T.
My contract has expired, and my old phone number is no longer active as of about 2 weeks ago, I also no longer live in the US (I've already travelled abroad), but they said that it would have no problem to unlock my iPhone as it's all done via iTunes.
I still have my old AT&T Sim card, but the number is not activate and like I said I'm in another country.
I have heard for the unlock process to be completed you need an activate sim card installed in the phone. Does it matter what carrier's sim I use (can I use a local one?) or does it absolutely have to be an AT&T sim?
I'm in Dubai now and have an active prepaid du sim card (they said it can easily be cut to micro-sim).
Contacing AT&T from here is a nightmare (the "international" number they gave me won't dial out and the website won't let me access my old account info since it's closed now and thus can't access their web chat either).

Stipulations
•     Phone must be off contract or you must be in the military traveling abroad.
•     Account must be in good standing for the last 30 days.
•     You must have valid email or phone number where you can be reached when the unlock is completed by Apple.
How it works:
1.     Call AT&T at 1-800-331-0500 and go through the prompts to get to a customer service agent
2.     Have your IMEI # ready along with your active email address and current phone number
3.     If your phone qualifies then AT&T will submit a request to Apple to authorize the unlock on your phone. (AT&T will tell you right then on the phone if it can be done )
4.     Make sure you get your case number in the event something doesn't go through so you can get support from AT&T.
5.     Once you recieve the email from Apple, open iTunes and transfer purchases, backup your phone and then perform a restore.
6.     Once this process is complete your phone should now be unlocked to use other carriers.
It will be up to you to find a way to call a US 800 number from outside the country; do a web search and you should find suggestions.

KT3 ultra2bulk and fsb 166

I want to know if this motherboard suport 166Mhz fsb ,with the pci at 33 and the agp at 66 ?????????????????? ?( ;( ?(

I have seen at a friend the KT3V motherbord at 166mhz fsb does not change cpupci ratio to 15 ,in sandra 2003 it is saing that the cpupci ratio is 14 the pci is 42 and the agp is 84.
I have reach the fsb 166 from one 1700+ occ b0 series to 2600+ .
Do you know other program then Sndra 2003 that read the pci bus and the cpupci ratio ?

P35 Platinum FSB jumpers

It seems that the default position of these jumpers is 200 MHz (x4). Why is this so? If this is a 1333 MHz board shouldn't the jumpers default be at 333 MHz (x4) position? I find this strange.
Is it okay to switch to 333 MHz (x4) position with a 1066 MHz processor?

You CAN make the northbridge run faster. Say you run it at 800 strap and FSB is 200Mhz then NB is running it's stock settings. If you increase FSB speed NB speed will rise aswell, until you reach 266Mhz - If you change to the 1066 strap at 266Mhz the NB will once again be running it's nominal speed but if you remain on the 800 strap you will be pushing it even further and thereby increase performance.
This is why asus's P965 boards overclocked so well and MSI's didn't. Asus changed the strap at certain FSB speeds and MSI's didnt. Somewhere at 400Mhz FSB, where the chipset was reaching it's maximum for the 1066 strap (with a 1066 core2) the board changed it's strap to 1333 (beeing fooled by the bios) and thus releaving the stress from the NB and it could again clock higher.

200mhz fsb support

Hiya, just a quick question.
Will the K7N2-L support the 200mhz FSB athlons when they get released later on this year?
I hope that it will, as i currently have the above mentioned board with an 1700+ cpu running at 11*166fsb.

Only the new (as yet unreleased i think) delta k7n2's official support it. However as so many people are easily reaching 200 fsb you should be able to overclock the motherboard to the chips stock speeds. Only problem with this is if msi do not realease a bios with fsbs greater than 200 youll only be able to overclock the new athlons by the multiplier alone.
