Read an SRM Table from XI

hi,
I have to read a lookup table in SRM from XI and use it in the mapping.
What is the process?
Thanks,
Tirumal

hi,
client is using a classic scenario so no purpose of SAP Predelivered content.
Initially i thought of creating a lookup table in R3 and by using RFC_READ_TABLE i can use the lookup table.
But since there exists a table of the same purpose in SRM i abandoned my R3 idea.
I would like to see if there is a code snippet to read SRM table through a proxy.
Thanks,
Tirumal

  • Need help- need to read a customer table from the payroll schema

    Hi gurus,
I need to read an amonunt from a customer table in the payroll schema. Is it possible to input TABLE XXXX in the schema, or is impossible to read from a customer table?Do I need to create a report to upload the amount in an infotype?
Thanks in advanced for for support!

You should create your own custom operation (based on operation TABLE) to read your custom table from a Payroll PCR.
If your custom table's name is longer than 5 characters, you may be required to use operations VAOFF and/or VALEN prior to your custom operation in the PCR.

  • How to read an APO table from excel in place using Visual Basic ?

We have enhanced some APO reports using layouts that use excel in place with custom visual basic (VB) code. For example, the VB code can append the data with additional columns that perform specific calculations and then proceed to create pivot table reports in excel..That is working fine.
The challenge is to see if that VB code could read specific APO tables (e.g. product master tables) to bring additional elements into excel and thus expand the report content. We know that additional fields can be added to the reports, but having the flexibility to read tables from VB could be more flexible.
Can that be done?. If so, would it be possible using exclusively the VB code attached to the layout, i.e. no ABAP?

    Hello Anselmo,
I am assuming you are doing this either using BeX analyzer or by reading the planning book using the RFC ActiveX component and a BAPI.
I think it's possible to retrieve the data from the product master table. Here are my thoughts on how can this be done:
    1) You can create a generic datasource (transaction RSO2) for the product master table, connect that to a BW remotecube and use a BeX query to retrieve that values. You can then join the queries using VBA. Alternatively, you can build a muti-provider that connects your current InfoCube to the new RemoteCube and build a query from there. The multi-provider, in this case, joins the data (no more VBA).
    2) If you have already loaded your product master data into master data carrying InfoObjects then you can try the same technique as #1 but this time there is no need to create the generic datasource. You can use the InfoObjects for your master data as the InfoProviders for your query.
    3) You can try the ActiveX component from SAP which can  connect to any emote enabled function in SAP system. SAP already provided some BAPIs (check transaction BAPI for a list) which might be able to provide the data. You can also create your own function modules (be sure to make it remote enabled) using ABAP. (transaction SE37).
    Hope this helps

  • Upload file to read as external table from client to DB server using webutil

Hi I was wondering if this is possible
The requirement is I need to up load a comaseprate file to db server from client, so to read this fie as an external table
When we have doing is to create a samba share on the DB server and just do a copy to the network share and consequentially read the file in to the database
    My environment - Forms 11R2 and 11g2
Can this be done using webutil ( from client to db server
    Thanks nad regards

    Hi thanks for the reply!
Currently the application runs with a samba share, we need to get read of this share and directly load the file to DB server (on unix file system, then there wont be much changes to the existing code), is this possible?
Ells I was thinking the same as you say just load the file in to the database and do some other PL/Sql or shell scripts to do the rest of the operation. it would be better to use a PL/Sql via a trigger I believe unfortunately I am not an Pl/Sql programmer ((, guess one of our developers need to find the coding part ))
Appreciate if you can give me some example like
    Thanks and best regards

  • Error at reading RSQONCOND system table via RFC_READ_TABLE

    Hello dear experts,
I try to read RSQONCOND system table from our external java application via JCO and RFC_READ_TABLE function but receive the following error:
Could not execute function '[MBI_SAPBW_F0012] Could not execute function 'RFC_READ_TABLE'. Error with ASSIGN ... CASTING in program SAPLSDTX .'. Table: RSQONCOND; columns: INFOSET, ONCOND; where clause: (INFOSET EQ '0SRVE_IS1') AND OBJVERS EQ 'A'
We used our code successfully with other system tables but in case of RSQONCOND  we got this error, so our code must be fine (if this particular request doesn't require some specific attributes or settings).
One more thing... I noticed that WCOND attribute in RSQONCOND is of String data type, can it be the cause of the error? But at the same time error takes place even when I try to retrieve the only one record without WCOND attribute (e.g. just INFOSET).
I also have the same error if to use SE37 transaction with RFC_READ_TABLE  and the RSQONCOND table name in parameters.
Is it possible to get data from the mentioned system table via RFC_READ_TABLE at all? What the cause of the error? Does any alternatives to RFC_READ_TABLE exist to get the data I need?

Thank you very much, Sandra for your reply.
Unfortunately I'm limited by the scope of our application and cannot make any changes on the SAP server, so adding our own custom functionality on the SAP servers is not an option.
I've also found RFC_GET_TABLE_ENTRIES which doesn't throw an exception but returns somehow encoded values of the STRING datatype (for example from the RSFOBUEV000 or RSQONCOND tables). So, one of the way out is to decode values but I cannot find how.
Does somebody know how to cope with the issue of retrieving values of the String datatype from third party applications without modifying SAP server?
We use java and jco library to get access to SAP server.

  • How to read and display table data entries from ERP in CRM

    Hello experts,
I am new to CRM. I need to read data base entries from ERP in CRM system. What would be the best way to do . The table is a standard SAP table with a custom include (several customer fields). Calling a web service would be the best way..? or is there any other way that I can do it too.
Also, to display these entries what would be the best tool? Should I built my own transaction/report to do it?
Any advise or guidance would be a great kick start to learn the CRM development environment.
    Regards,
    jaffery

    Hi,
Check the below wiki link if it helps.
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/CRM/Howtodisplayaz-tableinanassignmentblock
Also, you can try an option of transaction launcher.
    Hope this helps.

  • Short dump while reading a currency field from Flat file into internal tabl

    Hi,
I am getting a short dump........saying number conversion dump (while reading a currency value into field in internal table from a fixed lenght flat file).........
Do I need to use a string variable to get the value from flat file or how ??
    Please suggest.

    Santosh,
    Thanks for your inputs,
But my internal table type is of DEC (5,2) , I am getting that... it needs to be of type 'C'. Can you suggest.
    Ex :
    MOVE wa_temp-infile_string+106(8)  TO wa_item-QT_PERCENT
    This didnt work
so i tried moving into a seperate variable
    MOVE wa_temp-infile_string+106(8)  TO v_percent.
    and then write to
    WRITE v_percent to  wa_item-QT_PERCENT.

  • Need to Add and Remove Columns of ADF Read Only table from Backing bean

I have a scenario where I am trying to Populate TransientVO which is shown has a ADF Read Only Table in page.
I have couple of Check Boxes Based on their selection I am trying to render and hide certain Columns.
But the Issue which I am facing is only the Column Header seems to change where as the Rows and Values doesnt..
even If I apply the expression language rendering condition on the outputText inside those columns.. ..
So I am thinking to add and remove VO Attribute columns to the table from backing bean.
Need some sample code snippet or a better design to achieve this. Its kind of urgent too...having an aggressive deadline :(

  • Creating a external content type for Read and Update data from two tables in sqlserver using sharepoint designer

    Hi
how to create a external content type for  Read and Update data from two tables in  sqlserver using sharepoint designer 2010
i created a bcs service using centraladministration site

and same time update  in two tables
    adil

When I try to create an external content type based on a view (AdventureWorks2012.vSalesPerson) - I can display the data in an external list.  When I attempt to edit it, I get an error:
External List fails when attached to a SQL view
    Sorry, something went wrong
Failed to update a list item for this external list based on the Entity (External Content Type) 'SalesForce' in EntityNamespace 'http://xxxxxxxx'. Details: The query against the database caused an error.
I can edit the view in SQL Manager, so it seems strange that it fails.

  • How do I read a R/3 table from VB6 using RFC?

I am using a DLL created in VB6 to connect to an R/3 system.  I then call several ABAP functions I have written and exchange data.  This all works nicely.
I now have a R/3 function into which I pass a parameter, and it gathers some data into a table which has 3 string fields.  I want to pass that data back to my VB6 DLL, and read all the records from the table.
Unfortunately I have absolutely no idea where to start.  If someone could post an example of reading data directly from a table I would appreciate it.
Here is the function so far.  It passes the parameter "scenario" to the ABAP Function, and then needs to read the table directly.
        Dim oR3Func As Object
        Dim oFuncLoadDocument As Object
        bResult = Logon(oR3Func, "SAP.BAPI.1")
        If bResult Then
            Set oFuncLoadDocument = oR3Func.Add("ZMT_SET_SCENARIO")
            oFuncLoadDocument.exports("SCENARIO") = sScenario
            bResult = oFuncLoadDocument.Call
' Retrieve and read table here???
        End If
    Kind Regards
    Jack

There are two "generic" function modules to read table data from SAP. The one above and RFC_GET_TABLE_ENTRIES. However, most of the time you want to filter/process the data before it leaves SAP as large data handling is slow in VB. If you have ABAP skills it is often better to develop your own RFC enabled function module.
As of the VB access, there is several OCX you can use, documentation link:

Help title: SAP Automation RFC and BAPI Interfaces (BC-FES-AIT
It's all fairly straightforward once you get into it.
PS I almost always use the functions OCX...

I've got the labview vi written to read my IMU data from a serial port in COM1 and it displays onto the table on the front panel. I'm having trouble getting this data onto an excel spreadsheet. Any ideas? Right now my data will collect one reading instead of continuously reading my IMU which displays data in a continuous stream.
    Thanks
