"Read items that were created by the user" and inconsistent permissions

Hi!
I have enabled the option "Read items that were created by the user" and "Create items and edit items that were created by the user" in the advanced settings of a list. Indeed when a user creates an item in that list, that item is visible
only by that account and other accounts cannot see it.
However when the user opens the "Shared With" dialog he/she sees all users there, giving him/her the impression that the item is visible to everyone! Why is that? This is very confusing since this "Shared With" feature is the only way
for a user to tell who can see an item.

Let it make it more clear. User A creates Item 1. Users B creates Item 2. When User A sees the contents of the list he sees Item 1 only. When User B sees the contents of the list he sees Item 2 only. As expected.
The problem is that if User A selects Item 1 and then clicks on 'Shared With' button on the ribbon, he will get pop up that indicates that the Item 1 is Shared with User B. Which is not true since User B cannot see the item. So User A wrongly assumes
that Item 1 is Shared with User B!

Intermittant failure to read some dvds that were created on the same drive

I have a HP Pavilion dv6700t with with Vista Home Premium OS. Since I have owned it, the dvd drive has intermittantly failed to recognize dvd's that it created. The dvd's were created under Live File System format, both as 2.01 and 2.50 UDF Version. When I insert one of these failing DVDs into the drive, autoplay comes up with only blank dvd options. If I request the properties of the dvd, both used and free space shows 0 and the dvd icon is completely blue. When I left click the drive, the burn a disk window opens. Help!

You are getting closer. In Finder you will see the DVD appear under Devices, Single Click it so it's highlighted. Then you will see all the files on it. Single Click 1 File then type Command A (Select All) then Command C (Copy) and under the Favorites in the sidebar you will see an icon for Desktop, Single Click Desktop and then type Command V (Paste) and you have copied them onto your iMac's desktop.

I need to open pagemaker 5 files that were created on the Mac.

I downloaded Indesign cs4 but it blows up when I try to open the pagemaker file. Can anybody tell me how to make this work or should I be using a different program?

That's why you (um, I) need to keep your dead tech around; the only way to unembed the graphics is to open the document in the app that created it. Quite often, when I need to resurrect a dead PageMaker doc, I have to use the importer in PM 7 to extract the stories. I don't need to do so too often, but I'm quite glad I kept the old stuff around when a client shows up with something ancient.
It's more critical for me, actually, because a fair number of the old translations we've kept in our archive that were made that long ago used terribly obscure and/or modified T1 fonts for which I have to write javascript codepage converters in ID. If I couldn't open up the old files easily, then doing a proof of the conversion process would be a painful, time-consuming, eyesight-destroying job.

I want to use my iPad2 to make presentations created in MS Powerpoint. These have embedded videos, animations and hyperlinks. Will these all work in the spreadsheet if I use Keynote on my iPad to display and present them.

I have deleted all apps from my iPhone 4s and then I have changed my

But only few are in 'Purchased' section on iPhone!

How can i recover items that were emptied from the trash can?

I accidentally deleted my iphone back up and emptied the trash. i REALLY need to recover that back up... HELP!

Basics of File Recovery
Files in Trash
If you simply put files in the Trash you can restore them by opening the Trash (left-click on the Trash icon) and drag the files from the Trash to your Desktop or other desired location. OS X also provides a short-cut to undo the last item moved to the Trash -press COMMAND-Z.
If you empty the Trash the files are gone. If a program does an immediate delete rather than moving files to the Trash, then the files are gone. Recovery is possible but you must not allow any additional writes to the hard drive - shut it down. When files are deleted only the directory entries, not the files themselves, is modified. The space occupied by the files has been returned to the system as available for storage, but the files are still on the drive. Writing to the drive will then eventually overwrite the space once occupied by the deleted files in which case the files are lost permanently. Also if you save a file over an existing file of the same name, then the old file is overwritten and cannot be recovered.
General File Recovery
If you stop using the drive it's possible to recover deleted files that have not been overwritten by using recovery software such as Data Rescue II, File Salvage or TechTool Pro. Each of the preceding come on bootable CDs to enable usage without risk of writing more data to the hard drive. Two free alternatives are Disk Drill and TestDisk. Look for them and demos at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads.
The longer the hard drive remains in use and data are written to it, the greater the risk your deleted files will be overwritten.

HT1766 is there a way to restore playlists that were created on your iphone and not saved in your iTunes?

I just plugged my iPhone 5 into my computer and for some reason iTunes decided to erase all of my music and playlists off of my phone. the music being wiped out isnt a problem because i can just resync it from my library on my computer but i had playlists on my phone that i used the phone to create that are gone. They werent saved on my itunes because i used my phone to create them. is there anyway to restore these playlists or atleast see what songs were on them? i tried a whole phone restore and of course it brought everything back fine but the music was still gone. I had over 20 playlists and i don't remember what songs were on each, i can't even imagine beginning to manually recreate them. This is beyond frustrating, someone please help!

ADF table: How to find out which rows were modified by the user

Hi,
I am using ADF table to display data that can be modified by the user (ReadOnly = false in the input text). I need to find out which rows were modified by the user, and only update (persist) those rows in the database.
Is there an easy way to find out which rows were modified by the user.
I am NOT particularly concerned with which columns were modified as I would update the entire row (if any data in that row is modified).
I am using Oracle JDeveloper version 11.1.1.3.

I am using ADF Data Control (which are created from Web Service proxy) to display/update the data.
In the backing bean, the operation that is invoked at the time persisting data is as follows:

User and role permissions getting reset on managed server

          I am not sure whether this is really a clusteing problem. I have a clusted server
          with one admin server and one managed server. I have deployed the some of my own
          applications alongwith the Weblogic Integration application on the managed server.
          I have some users and roles defined in the BPM studio to access and execute the
          workflows.
          But every time I restart the managed server, the user and role permissions are
          reset and the workflows are not executed. I get the following error.

I see, I misread your reference to Reader 11 to mean you were using Acrobat 11, but it looks like it worked out anyway.
The base-14 fonts are special in PDF because they are guaranteed to be available even if they are not embedded. If you select a non-base-14 font for use with a form field, the entire font usually gets embedded, since each glyph it contains has to be available for use with the field. This can take up a lot of space if you do this a lot, and the space isn't reduced if you change back to a base-14 font later because the internal reference to it is not removed. This is caused by the bug I mentioned.
In your case, however, the entire font doesn't get embedded because fonts like it (e.g., large asian fonts with a lot of glyphs, Arial Unicode) would take up too much space if fully embedded. If it did, a 100KB PDF could bloat to 20MB with that one change. Instead, users are expected to have such fonts installed on their system, which is why you were prompted to install the font pack. This despite the fact that the font was not actually used by anything in your document, it was simply the orphaned reference to it that triggered this. This should get fixed in Acrobat eventually so this type of thing doesn't happen again.

No, you will not loose anything. However, if you ever need to update any of that previously purchased content, or re-download it, you will have to use the older AppleID. Purchases are permanently tied to the AppleID you use when making the purchase.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You already have got Pages 5.0, but you still have got Pages 4.3, so Pages 4.3 is being opened instead of the newest version, being this the reason why you get a message telling you to update Pages to the most recent version.
If you don't need the old version, open a Finder window, choose Applications in the sidebar and delete the old Pages icon or move it to an external drive. I don't recommend you to do this, as users are complaining about the lack of features of the new version.
Instead, what you can do is to put the new Pages icon in the Dock by dragging it from the Finder window to the Dock, so you can open the new Pages version from the Dock and you can open all your documents with it after opening the application

How to go back to item that were just on in the tree if data block info has an error?

I have a tree that lists information about a Client (addresses, quotes, etc). When the user clicks on a node in the tree, a data block on the right gets populated with the information for that node. If the user enters invalid information for that node and then clicks on another node in the tree, the error appears, the data block keeps the information for the offending node, but the node in the tree that is selected is for the one the user just clicked on, not the offending node. How do I get the selected node in the tree to remain at the offending data block?

create a 'when-mouse-enter' trigger in the 'tree block'.. check the record displayed on the data block is correct.. if not disable the tree item.. so the user will not be able to select any other node without correcting it..
another alternative is to store the current node in a global variable.. check the validation in 'when-tree-node-selected' trigger.. if it fails then search for the treenode and position it back.. a l'il difficult

Go to Settings > FaceTime, tap your Apple ID, and select Sign Out.
