Read only af:table first row select and focus on form load

I use a read only af:table in my page. When my page loads and I click on my table, then I can use up / down arrow keys to navigate in my table's rows. But if I don't click on the table, I can't navigate in my table's rpws.
What can do in my page to give the first focus to my table's first row and navigate in my rows without using mouse clicks....
findElementById function in javascript does not work in jdeveloper 11...
Do you help me for this?
Thanks..

Hi,
actually findElementById does work, but you should use the ADF client side framework for this. Add a clientListener to the component that intercepts the keyboard usage and make it callin the next record on the table.
I'll take a note for a how-to to put on my blog as I don't have the code ready. However, its possible this way

  • Af:Table retains rows selected and selection listener doesnt work

    Hi
    I have a table with a list of objects passed to it to be rendered. When the user selects an object and clicks on the launch button above the table, it launches a new page and on the new page when the user clicks on cancel it brings back to the same page where the table is present. While coming back to this page, the row that was earlier selected by the user is highlighted and a click on the same row doesnt enable the selection listener. I have to click on some other row and then click the old row if I want to relaunch the old page
    <af:table var="row" rowBandingInterval="0" id="tblProcedures" emptyText="#{dbProcedureMsg.TABLE_EMPTY_TEXT}"
    summary="#{dbProcedureMsg.TABLE_SUMMARY_TEXT}"
    value="#{pageFlowScope.db_provisioning_DeploymentProcedurePageModel.collectionModel}" filterVisible="false"
    columnStretching="column:colDescription" rowSelection="single" width="99.7%"
    selectionListener="#{pageFlowScope.db_provisioning_DeploymentProcedurePageModel.processSelection}">
    There is one more table which behaves the same way. But other tables which are part of my application work correctly.
    Any idea on what I might be doing wrong ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    To be honest Million rows in excel its questionable for me
    I would try to find alternate solution rather than killing ADF on client and then your DBA will call you for a urgent meeting. Even if you make it work with ADF, people will not going use it due to huge amount of data load.
    What you can do is to call external report like Jasper, BIRT etc. etc. and provide option there to export to Excel based on your criteria (but million rows is again questionable)
    OR
    one idea is to give option at client side to request a report with button at af:TABLE toolbar ...then you can schedule a job at database server level using PL/SQL dbms_scheduler package with OS script to generate text file on server and FTP it to some machine.
    Hope it help,

  • Table- Why first row Selected from itself

    Hi,
    i have a jspx that have some fields and a button ,
    the user should fill this fields with data then click the button
    the button pass those values to a function that call a Stored Proceudre in the DB
    then the last code in that button is to refresh a table (by execute param) that read the inserted data
    why everytime the table refreshed give me the data with the first row SELECTED!!!!!!!!
    i am using ADFBC + JSF
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
    hope you handled the case where a user hits submit - or performs some other action that is performed on the current row - because you are now in an unpredictable state. Ideally you disable all related command buttons until a user selects a row

  • How to disable first row selection in a table

    Hi,
    I have three tables which have master child relationship. I need to enable a button for each table based on row selection of corresponding table.But first row is being selected automatically and the buttons are enabled.
    what should i do in order to avoid first row selection in a table.I tried by removing selected Row Keys.But still i am getting the same problem.can anyone suggest on this.
    Thank You,
    Sukumar

    I know a hack but I don't recommend it, anyway here it goes:
    Remove selected Row Keys
    Change selectionListener from the default and create a custom action listener (You can call the default one inside of it) (Tip: use makeCurrent function in this PDF
    This will make sure that there is no selected row highlighted for the first time, but it actually means that the first row is selected, it's just not shown.
    This method is tested with 11.1.1.7

  • Can't install OSX Mountain Lion, on the disk selection screen i cant select the Macintosh HD to install OSX giving a message (This disk cannot be used to start up your computer).only have one disk to select and my partition map scheme is GUID partition

    just bough OSX Mountain Lion, my laptop operating with v10.6.8.  Can't install OSX Mountain Lion, on the disk selection screen i cant select the Macintosh HD to install OSX giving a message (This disk cannot be used to start up your computer).only have one disk to select and my partition map scheme is GUID partition table. 24.44gb disk available.

    Verify your computer can run Mountain Lion:
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
    To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
         OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
           Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
    To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
    Open Disk Utility and verify the drive is partitioned using GUID and formatted Mac OS Extended, Journaled. If it is then do this:
    Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
    Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
    If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    Now try installing Mountain Lion.

  • Read Only Element Table Attributes not working since we migrate 3.0.1

    Dear all,
    I have a page to dispaly the content of a journalling table and highlight the changes in red.
    To do it, the guy before me use the read only.
    In the read only condition type he put pl/sql expression.
    the expression is :P120_OLD_DEADLINE_DT NOT LIKE :P120_NEW_DEADLINE_DT
    And in Read Only Element Table Cell(s) Attributes the code is bgcolor="#FF0000"
    In 2.2 the background was red and in now the the background doesn't work.
    Do you have an idea why in 3.0.1 it doesn't work.
    Thanks
    Eric

    Scott,
    The background works only with the read only condition always.
    In my new item the select is select 10 from dual.
    In the read only condition I select Value of item in expression 1 is not null.
    I put in expression 1 the name of my item :p997_test.
    The read only doesn't work.
    In your test, did you select the condition always or you chose something else ?
    Thanks
    Eric

  • TS1717 I just downloaded a song and it only plays the first 50 seconds and then moves to the next song in the list. How can I get it to play the rest of the song?

    I just downloaded a song and it only plays the first 50 seconds and then moves to the next song in the list. How can I get it to play the rest of the song?

    If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:
    Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
    Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
    Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

  • Since syncing my Ipod classic three days ago, the songs will only play the first three minutes and five seconds. Then it just stops. After a little while, it moves on to the next song.

    I have an old iPod Classic, 5th generation with video 30 GB. I sync via a pc. Since syncing it three days ago, the songs will only play the first three minutes and five seconds. Then it moves on to the next song or if it's the last song, it goes back to the menu. I just synced again and it it still doing it.It also has a small group of dots near the middle of the screen that weren't there before.Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it?  Thanks.

    Please disregard this question. I have a better worded version coming up.

    I want to make the form when it load it check the data in table, if there are no data in table other form will be load.
    Sorry for bad English...

    Maybe you can do this in form1's Form_Open event:
    if dcount("*", "table1") = 0 then
      Cancel = True
      Docmd.Openform "form2"

  • Make Select rows and columns as read only in Table Control

    Hi All,
    I would like to know how to make certain cells in a Table Control as display only.
    Table control should look like-(Those in bold are read only or in display mode)
    <b>Name1            Idno1 </b>         Address1
    <b>Name2            Idno2</b>          Address2
    <b>Name3            Idno3  </b>        Address3
    <b>Name4            Idno4</b>          Address4
    (Blank row to enter name idno and address)
    (Blank row to enter name idno and address)
    (Blank row to enter name idno and address)
    My table control should display all the above fields the way it is above of which first two colums and 4 rows should be read only,and the rest of the empty rows in the TC should be in change mode.i.e it must have provision to add new rows but not change the first two columns of existing rows.
    In short I am looking at solution to hide particular no of rows and columns and <b>not the entire column.</b>

    In the PBO of the table control loop. just write these statements
    NAME and IDNO considering the fields on the screen.
    and WA_TAB is the table work area being passed to the table control to display the rows.
    if not WA_TAB-NAME is initial and not WA_TAB-IDNO is initial.
    loop at screen.
    if screen-name = 'NAME' or
       screen-name = 'IDNO'.
    screen-input = <b>0</b>.
    modify screen.
    endif.
    endloop.
    endif.
    which means that the fields are disabled only if NAME and IDNO are not initial.

  • Read only set for few rows of a column in a table (not ALV)

    Hi Gurus,
    I have a table with multiple rows and columns. Under a particular column, I have to make few rows as read only, few rows as editable based on a coondition. How can I achieve this. I know how to make the whole column as editable or read only. But I'm not able to achieve few rows in a particular column as editable and few read only. Please give me more detail code.
    Appreciate your help.
    Regards,
    David.

    Hello,
    That you can achieve by creating an attribute isReadOnly of type WDY_BOOLEAN in the context node that you bind to the TABLE. And set isReadOnly attribute based on your condition whether to set readonly or editable for all the context elements.
    And in the layout view, for the column which has to be made readOnly or editable, bind the property readOnly to the context attribute isReadOnly.
    When you run application, you will see the column as readOnly if the attribute was set to true and editable if it was set to false.
    Hope this helps!
    Regards,
    Srilatha

  • How to set a MessageTextInput to be Read Only for a specific row?

    Hi,
    In Benefits Self Service, particularly the Update Beneficiaries page, it lists all your eligible Beneficiaries including yourself. The table has the following columns displayed for each beneficiary: Beneficiary, Relationship, Social Security Number, Primary %, Contingent %, Clear. This is the page where you allocate the Primary % and the Contingent %. The Primary % and Contingent % are MessageText Input.
    We have a requirement that we wouldn't want an employee to designate himself/herself as a beneficiary. However, the employee is being listed as a beneficiary along with all the other eligible beneficiaries. Oracle says it is an intended functionality to include the employee in the beneficiary. Is there a way thru Controller Object extension to set the Primary % and Contingent % as Read Only but only for the row corresponding to the employee to prevent the employee from accidentally allocating himself/herself as a beneficiary.
    I know there is the SPEL functionality but this requires me to add a transient attribute to the View Object corresponding to that table. But everytime I make a change to the View Object either by adding a transient attribute or some other changes, I end up getting an error on the standard Relation attribute of that view object. The error is something like "Relation set attribute failed for View Object". I cannot get pass this error and I'm not sure what's causing this. I see other people in this forum have encountered the same problem when extending view objects but no specific solution was offered nor any clear explanation of the cause.
    So I thought if there's any way this could be done thru Controller Object extension. If so, please let me know how. The challenge for me I think is finding the bean corresponding to those Message Text Input but only for a specific row in the table.
    Thanks,
    Ronaldo

    Hi,
    I also tried extending the View Object but without changing anything to the SQL so it is exactly the same as the standard view object but I still get the "Attribute set for Relation in view object BeneficiaryPeopleVO1 failed". Based from this, extending the view object whether any change has been made or not affects the standard transient Relation attribute.
    Here is the standard XML definition of the View Object if anyone is curious

  • How to make the first row  selected before the display of ALV grid

    Hello Experts,
    I created a ALV grid using custom container in a screen . Now i want do the follwing:
    1. i want that, the  <b>first line must be selected before the display of ALV.</b>
    2. I have selection buttons . But i dont want the multiselect button and the
        standard  toolbar in the ALV grid.
    Could any one please help me regarding the above?
    Thanks & Regards
    Sudhansu

    can u pls explain in more details with an example?
    I am telling u the scenario.
    1. i have a screen(Modal dialog Box)  containing ALV grid with selection buttons for each row  (top part) and a subscreen(second part).
          Now when i click on a selection button, it will display the corresponding values in the subscreen.
        When this screen will display for the first time , then first row of the ALV grid should be selected and the corresponding values should be displayed in  the subscreen.
    i   wrote the following code in the PAI. But when i select a record its not triggering the PAI.
    DATA:
         gi_index_rows TYPE lvc_t_row, " Internal table for indexes of selected rows
         g_selected_row LIKE lvc_s_row, " Information about 1 row
         l_lines TYPE i.
      CLEAR g_wa_vdmeko.
    *get selected row
      CALL METHOD g_alv_grid->get_selected_rows
        IMPORTING
          et_index_rows = gi_index_rows.
      DESCRIBE TABLE gi_index_rows LINES l_lines.
      LOOP AT gi_index_rows INTO g_selected_row.
        READ TABLE g_int_vdmeko INDEX g_selected_row-index INTO g_wa_vdmeko.
        SELECT SINGLE  *
               FROM vdmepov
               WHERE bukrs = g_wa_vdmeko-bukrs AND
                     styp  = g_wa_vdmeko-styp  AND
                     sbez  = g_wa_vdmeko-sbez  AND
                     svym  = g_wa_vdmeko-svym  AND
                     svnr  = g_wa_vdmeko-svnr.
      ENDLOOP.
    I am displayinng the ALV using method "set_alv_for_first_display".
    Please help if u have any idea..................
    Thanks

  • Show balances only at the first row in Discoverer.

    I have a discoverer report based on Oracle GL module. I'm reporting the balances @ segment1,2&3 which gives Journal date, Begining balance , Journal amount and Ending balances. I'm able to pull in all the data. But the user wants enters the parameter as From period, To period and the segment1,2&3. Here is the data which is showing in my report currently.
    segment info 1-2-3 journal name Journal Date Begin Balance journal Amount Ending Balance
    931-11-11 abcd 09-SEP-2009 21,492,527.51 ; -506,290.00 23,875,304.30
    931-11-11 abcd 09-SEP-2009 21,492,527.51 ; 1,996,600.00 23,875,304.30
    931-11-11 abcd 30-NOV-2009 22,982,837.51 ; 333.58 25,365,614.30
    931-11-11 abcd 30-NOV-2009 22,982,837.51 ; -2,600,200.00 25,365,614.30
    931-11-11 abcd 30-NOV-2009 22,982,837.51 ; -166.79 25,365,614.30
    931-11-11 abcd 31-DEC-2009 23,373,134.30 ; -495,865.00 25,755,911.09
    931-11-11 abcd 31-DEC-2009 23,373,134.30 ; 998,035.00 25,755,911.09
    Users desired output is like this:
    segment info 1-2-3 journal name Journal Date Begin Balance journal Amount Ending Balance
    931-11-11 abcd 09-SEP-2009 *21,492,527.51* -506,290.00
    931-11-11 abcd 09-SEP-2009 1,996,600.00
    931-11-11 abcd 30-NOV-2009 333.58
    931-11-11 abcd 30-NOV-2009 -2,600,200.00
    931-11-11 abcd 30-NOV-2009 -166.79
    931-11-11 abcd 31-DEC-2009 -495,865.00
    931-11-11 abcd 31-DEC-2009 998,035.00 25,755,911.09
    user wants see the beginning balance only @ the first period. He is not interested in showing up at each and every line.
    Then ending balance is sum of the begining balance which is at the first line and sum of all the journal amount which should show up at the last line.
    I don't know how to show begining only at the first period and ending balance at the last row. Please help!!!

    Maybe you would come up with a custom folder that unions the GL Balance table to the GL JE Lines table? You would have to union a begiining balance entry to the JE detail. Not sure you would need an ending balance record. The beginning balance entry would have the first day of the month as its journal date value as part of the union coding, and journal name NULL. So that hopefully it will sort out as the first entry for the period. Though even that still provides an issue with crossing over multliple periods. You would have to add conditions that say that select the NULL journal name entry only if the journal date = the begin period begin date. Or as part of the union process you could create a new column with a flag for balance (Y for the beginning balance table records and N for the detail JE lines records) and use that new column for editing along with the begin date of the selected date range. Just trying to toss out some ideas here. I myself have never had to do sometihng like this, so I don't have a proven method to accomplish this. But think back to what happens when you join tables with SQL. You are getting a record today with begin balance, je detail line amount, and end balance, because you are joining gl balances to je detail. What you really want, I think is an SQL result that gives you the first result row being the beginning balance of the account of the user selected From Period, and then the following SQL row results are the detail JE rows. That way you only get the beginning balance to print one time, at the beginning, in the SAME column as the je detail amount, and you can then do a sum at the end of the account to sum up the Discoverer report detail rows that would give you an ending balance, again showing just one time for each account in the report. So you have to ask yourself this question - if I was writing this SQL myself (forget about Discoverer for the moment), how would I write it myself, manually, to get the desired result? Once you know how to code it manually, then that should give you a clue on how to set it up in Discovererer. Hope this helps a bit. Another thought - rather than use Discoverer, maybe look at the Oracle Finanacial Statement generator to handle this? Or maybe come up with some kind of materialized view (that might help performance, since GL detail lines table can get pretty darn large)? Keep in mind with a materialized view you get a non-current view of the data, so that won't work if you absolutely need to query over what is currently in the Oracle base tables. But if this is a once a month thing, you could refresh the materialized view after the period is closed and then the users can run the Discoverer report.
    Good luck.
