anybody knows how to read out the actual username / userdata from a netware client?

JNI, (Java Native Interface), may help. Tutorials available on this site. Or if there's a COM wrapper to the dll you could use the Java-COM bride, (or Corba if you've got the implementation).
Ugly idea: Write a batch file that can get the info that you want, use Runtime.exec() to fire it from within your code. Don't do this. Well, maybe if all else fails.

I just finished setting up this Border 3.9 server few months ago, everything works fine; but from time to time I will get the following message during ACLCHECK as follow: For example this is a log from system console after I made some changes on the proxy access rule.

PEAP with Novell NDS and LDAP?

I was reading this Cisco Q&A doc (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps430/products_qanda_item0900aecd801764fa.shtml) that contained the following question and answer:
Q. Can I use PEAP with LDAP or Novell NDS databases?
A. Yes. PEAP provides interoperability with both LDAP and Novell NDS.
I was under the impression that LDAP and Netware only supported EAP-GTC, EAP-Fast (phase 2 only), or EAP-TLS???
Can anyone comment?

Getting 802.1x to work with novell using PEAP w/ GTC is a slam dunk with some exceptions. I'm using Cisco ACS with Backend connection to NDS. If you have XP clients you can easily use the Cisco PEAP supplicant to allow connecting with EAP-GTC. I ran into problems with the mixture of cards and Client OS. I turned to Funk Odyssey Client to solve all my problems on the clients.

4402 PEAP w/ACS3.3 using Novell NDS.

I am trying to configure WPA2 with 802.1x authentication through ACS 3.3. Having issue with using PEAP authentication through ACS 3.3 configured for Novell NDS as External Database. Client is stuck "Verifying credentials". Controller sends authentication requests to ACS, but it is not getting any response back from ACS. ACS is on the same subnet, no firewalls of any kind in between. Under Failed Authentication on ACS nothing gets logged if I have PEAP enabled under Global Authentication Setup (EAP-MSCHAPv2). If I uncheck PEAP options under Global Authentication, then ACS will log under Failed Attempts error message saying that "EAP type not configured. Check Global Authentication Setup". Correct IP address of ACS and secret key is entered in Wireless Controller. I have also tried using port 1645 and 1812 with the same result.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you are authenticating against Novell eDirectory/NDS, you should use EAP-GTC. Also, when you create your database configuration, be sure to enter all contexts (separated by commas) in which your user accounts reside.

JAVA library for authen. RADIUS or Novell NDS?

I think there is a product called Radiator for Radius and Novell provides a Java toolkit for its directory servers. You might be able to use these.

How to read out and modify text parts in a pdf-document?

My problem is the following: I want to read out text passages of an existing pdf-file, compare them with files in an odbc-database and write down the results of that comparison in the same pdf-file. The term is: Read out a number in the file, search the database for the matching user-name, generate a field in the pdf and write down the search results in that.
i have read that this could be possible with acrobat...my version is an acrobat 9 pro extended...
could someone please tell me how to do that?

You can, however, use the Preflight feature built into Acrobat to identify whatever you wish…

Keeps reading out emails and sms

My phone noe reads out emails received ans SMS. It is only on the email application and not gmail
I have reset application preferences
Subsequently I have unticked email notifications in the email account setting and unticked notifications in the SMS setting
In settings- acessibility I have talkback set to off
Any ideas?!! Its bugging me as it interrupts everything including calls

How can I avoid that a virus read out all passwords memoried by Firefox? It was happend two weeks ago!

My children where using some web sites about games to solve some problems. During this use a virus came via web interface into my desktop. My virus scanner shows this but could not avoid that this virus read out all my accounts memorized in Firefox and sent it into dark channels.
I could restore the way how my accounts leave my Desktop. There was some accounts only memorized into Firefox inclusive passoword. These accounts would used from other persons in the meantime.
My questions are:
- How save are the memorized accounts-password combinations?
- And: Is it possible that the Firefox Sync Account can transfer the virus from PC to PC by using the same Sync-Account? Or can I be sure that all other Firefox installations at other PSs will be clean after this attack at one Firefox-Installation during all installations use the same Sync-Account? What this question means in background: Via Sync can Plugins be installed at other systems. What happens, when a virus install a special virus-plugin? Would Sync it move to all other PCs?

If you are using Sync to sync passwords then you likely aren't using a Master Password to protect the password.

If you suspect such a virus infection then you should cleanup your computer and change all the compromised passwords immediately.
Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Where do I find the read out of cycles on my battery & it's battery life?

Battery won't charge, MBP won't run on AC, MagSafe light out or flickering, no green or orange or amber light - those were the descriptions of my problem.
First of all I want to shout out a huge THANKS to people who contribute to this discussion board. My computers just aged out of their APP and I was dreading the thought and expense of putting my MBP into a repair shop. It took me a bit of reading and trying out suggestions but I was able to track down the root of my problem by using the search function before posting. That was a bit tricky since I didn't find anyone who posted or phrased the problem the way I was experiencing it, but through the process of elimination I was able to rule out a bad Left I/O board (yippee) and that it was merely a dead battery.
I was monitoring the draining of my battery as I used it with the power cord. It was getting critically low. I was pointed to the instructions to close and save all open applications then put the computer through sleep, restart and shut down. I also took out the battery and did the 5 second hold on the power button before starting up. I also had just enough battery power to send the critical document I was working on to my iDisk account so I could finish it on my Mac Pro if all else failed. Some of those are just common sense measures but when I'm in a state of near panic (working on taxes - urgh!) I'm glad someone else took the time to point out the obvious.

When I saw the photo of what the MagSafe pegs were supposed to look like I discovered that one was retracted and I could not get it dislodged. I bought a new MagSafe connector and I'm back in business.
I'm sorry I didn't keep track of each person's ID who helped me through the deduction process. I also want to thank the person who pointed me to iFixit.com. I've bookmarked that fine site for future endeavors in home diagnosing and fixing.
What I still need answered is where do I go on my computer to get the read out on how many cycles I've used on charging my battery and the other information that I saw people copy and paste about their battery life? I know my battery is on the downhill side so I'd like to start monitoring it.
I'm also posting my whole problem for the possibility that someone will have a similar way of describing their dilemma and be able to search here for a possible solution.

You can see number of charging cycles in System Profiler , under Power.
In regards to your battery/charger issues one thing - try to switch your computer off, take the battery out, and hold power button for 5 (10, just for a sake of it seconds.
Then put battery back in, and try to charge it/power it up. It's amazing how many issues can this solve...

need this soon)Well, I don't know if there is a method for this but you can do this with a little trick - and you don't need a trusted applet for this:
- you need a program running on your server which accepts connections and stores the ip-address (socket.getInetAddress()) or whatever you want to do with it.
- your applet just connects to this program and then disconnects.

Since updating to IOS 7 Autocorrects are no longer read out.

I upgraded my iphone 4 and despite the setting being enabled for them to do so, autocorrects are no longer read out.
Since that happening I have had to upgrade my iphone 4 and now have a 5s
I backed up my iphohe 4 and then used that backup to move everything to my 5 and the problem persits. What do I do please?

Are you running into this problem with all PDFs, or just a select few? If the PDF was created from a scan, and OCR wasn't performed (so there's no "live" text), then there wouldn't be anything to read aloud.
If the issue occurs regardless of the PDF you have open, has anything changed on your system since Read Out Loud worked for you?

Using image data read out from a file

Hi,
Having used the GetBitmapFromFileEx(), GetBitmapInfoEx() to acquire the necessary image data (most of them is the .png format), then using the FileToArray() to put the image data in my own binary file, e.g., "mypicture.dat". My idea is that whenever need to use the image, I can read out it from mypicture.dat and then display it on a pcture control. But when loading the image data to the memory, I have no idea to map the image data buffer to an image resource, which can let to acquire a bitmap ID. Because from the cvi's image processing function lists, it seems that must through such as the GetBitmapFromFileEx(), GetBitmapFromFile() to acquire the image data buffer and the bitmap ID, then using SetCtrlBitmap() to diplay it. Is there any way to resolve the problem? Thanks.

Well, to read and write raw data file informations from a PNG image you must adhere to this standard. As a source of informations you may take a look to this Wikipedia page and to the links in this page from the PNG Home site.
So the problem is: does your application worth the effort to study this documentation?
Edit: FYI part of this job has been already made in CVI by Guillaume Dargaud for his ReadSavePNG instrument driver. It's been a long time since I have used this instrument, as I/O operations on PNG files have been integrated into CVI since release 8 and support for JPEG files in release 7 or so. Nevertheless I saw functions in that instrument for accessing raw data in a PNG file so you may find them useful for your needs.

Adobe Reader's Read Out Loud is glitched.

When I use the r-o-l feature to read my textbooks, the program does not read words with the letter "F" in them correctly. At first, I believed it was just something weird with the book I was attempting to have it read, so I changed it. But now I've bought a completely different computer, and have a new class with new text books, and it's still doing it. For example, the word fire. It'll read fee-are-ee. Influence is pronounced in-flamabluence. Flesh is 'florida-esh'. It's highly distracting, and I don't know what to do about it. Any suggestions?
I am using Windows 8, on a pc.

I do not have Reader installed, but in Acrobat, there is a Read Out Loud menu item under the View menu.
