Read redo logon

Dear,
I need to read redo log from oracle9i. The redolog file is copy from production machine. I have copy to same version oracle testing machine. How can i to see the log information.

I have a Finger Print Reader on my Laptop and when I go to a logon screen it says this is not a logon screen and will not allow me to use my Finger Print Reader to logon. When I use IE it works fine.

The driver I have is the most recent version. This is a Firefox problem....fix it!
It works perfectly on Internet Explorer and worked on Firefox before the last update so it's your problem.

How to read user - logon language (Urgent)

I have written the below code to display the language in english if it exists if not in french & so on, but i would like to know how i can read the language in which the user has logged on & use that as the first criteria.
Eg: S_SPRAS = User Logon language
SELECT SINGLE MAKTX FROM MAKT INTO Y_MAKTX
WHERE MATNR = MARC-MATNR
AND SPRAS IN (S_SPRAS,'EN','FR','IT',' ').

Let me try to explain the problem
Mtl-A, has description in 3 languages. (En, Fr, It)
Mtl-B, has description in 1 language only. (It)
Mtl-C, has no description
First i want to check for a given mtl if description exists in the user's logon lang, if it does not, then check if description is maintained in English, if not check in French, if not Italian.
Eg1: User logs-in with En language,
Then the description for mtl-A is displayed in english, for Mtl-b description is displayed in Italian (as only italian description is maintained) & for mtl-c no description is displayed as it is not maintained.
Eg2: User logs-in with It language.
Then description for Mtl-A & B is displayed in Italian & for mtl-c it is blank as no description exists
But when i use the below code, the system by default picks up EN which is my default lang, even if i login in French or Italian lang, the description is shown in english only.

GoldenGate reading redo/multiple extracts

What are the downsides of having multiple extracts on the same table in golden gate?
I have a scenario where:
LOCALITY_SETTING_TBL
PK_NUM        COLUMN_ONE     COLUMN_TWO
ID1                        456                         129000
mapping to 2 tables:
Table A
PK_NUM     COLUMN_VALUE   COLUMN_ONE
    ID1               randomval                456
Table B
PK_NUM        COLUMN_VALTWO   COLUMN_TWO
ID1                        randomval              129000
We are setup currently with 2 extracts on LOCALITY_SETTING_TBL and thus 2 replicats. We basically then say anytime the row changes we replicate the update to the 2 tables, even if only one changed.
This doesn't seem like a scalable solution due to latching, redo reading, or something bad happening. I feel best case is:
one extract on LOCALITY_SETTING_TBL and then in the replicat, just map the before/after's to see what changed and only apply to that table.
What are the downsides to the 2 or more extracts on the same table? Looking for some solid proof or areas to look.

You need to specifiy the timing (sampling rate) and the number of samples per channel. The NaN probably means that no data was available when you peform the read operation.

Cannot read Redo log

Hi,
We have a site which is used for replication.
At this site we had a capture,propogate and the apply process.
Because of some errors we dropped the capture and propogate process.
We also droppeed the streams queue.
Then we created a new Capture and Propogate process as well as
a new streams queue.
When we start the capture process then the process gets aborted.
When we see the dump file we get the following errors.
It says that you cannot read from redo log

These errors indicate that the file is unreadable from the OS point of view.

Finger Print reader does not link to Win7 Logon Screen

Win7 Ultimate 64 bit
FingerPrint software 5.9.4
Biometric link to windows Logon accepted
MS Server domain client
At system boot, the logon screen appears and the fingerprint light is "on". I scan my finger, the light blinks once and no submission of the saved Windows password to the logon window. I must key in password.
Lenovo support asked me to uninstall software, BIOS clear saved finger prints then re-install (and re-register). I have done this twice with no change.
This was working until I had to break the domain connection (server change) and re connect to the domain with the same logon/password. It was at this time that the finger print reader stopped passing the biometric password to the OS.
Any thoughts on how to re-connect reader to logon?

I am using 5.9.4 with no problem, although I seem to recall having to go into the Fingerprint software and make some innocuous setting change, then change it back. But I was changing a lot of things at the time and don't know for sure if that had any effect.
Are you able to log onto the domain by manually entering your password? If not, may need to re-add the computer to the domain.

Fingerprint isn't recognized for Windows logon

I just recently purchased an HP Pavilion DV6-6c10us. When I first started it up, I went through the standard set-up stuff and entered the fingerprint data needed by Simplepass (2012). Everything seemed to work like it was supposed to. I was able to just swipe my fingerprint to log on to Windows at startup. A couple days ago, possibly after either a Windows or HP update, when I start Windows, and try to swipe a finger a windows security message comes up and reads, "Your fingerprints have not been enrolled for authentication." I click OK and just use my password to log on to Windows. Once I get into windows the fingerprint scanner works fine.
I've checked for any updates for SimplePass, and there aren't any.
In the Control Panel, Biometric Devices area, when I click on "Stop using your fingerprint to log on to Windows", the next window opens and reads, "You have no fingerprint data or logon credentials to remove."
How do I get windows to allow me to enroll a fingerprint to log on to windows?
Please help!

Not sure why, but the data is not present means its either deleted or currupt. you may need to register the fingerprint reader to logon to windows one more time.
it may not be the one you expected or like to hear. but i think its the easiest and best possible solution on this.

Most 3rd parties gave up when they realized that
a) Oracle now owns, and includes for free, the logminer, and
b) Oracle is free - and willing to - change the contents of the log files at any time, including patch releases.

Testing Interactive Form Logon Displays Odd Color Scheme

For over a year we have been using this one interactive form. The color scheme, when logging into this form, has changed. The developer who created the form has made no changes, and I do not know of any changes on the Basis side that would cause this.
When I test the form from SICF, the initial logon screen has a black background and the logon window where we enter the username and password is outlined in blue. Once I log into the form, it displays properly. Any ideas on what may be causing this form to display in this odd manner?
I know it is just the colors and the form itself still works, but some endusers find it hard to read the logon screen when it displays like this.

Goto transaction SICF.
Under default_host>sap>bc>webdynpro>sap>(name of interactive form) - double click on the form
Select Error Pages Tab, within the Create/Change Service window that is now open. Switch to change mode, and Scroll down the page to select the configuration button.
This opens the System Logon Configuration Window and under Logon Layout and Procedures you will see two options. SAP Implementation and User-Specific. SAP Imlpementation has a Tmpl (Template) and SAP ICON selection. User-Specifc has a class your developer would have created. You select which option and settings for that option you want. Then select the adjust Links and Images. When I made these changes, it asked me for a transport.
Once you have applied the changes, created the transport and saved everything. You will now be able to run a test of the form from SICF to see what the new logon layout looks like. You just transport the change through the rest of your systems.

How to get fingerprint reader to work with passwords on web pages?

I just got my x61 with fingerprint reader. I have enrolled my fingerprints and am able to use the fingerprint reader to logon to the system. I would also like to use the reader to bypass password entry on webpages I use frequently, like email. I think this is a possible function of the fingerprint reader (as is implied in the Lenovo video about the fingerprint reader), but I cannot find any information on how to do this. Can anyone help?

"No attempts to start the service" fingerprint reader error caused by Camera Mute service.

Since installing the latest Thinkvantage Fingerprint Reader update I've been having the problem that my system stalls at the login screen with the error:
No attempts to start the service have been made since the last boot.
After about 30 seconds the problem goes away and I can log on using the fingerprint reader as normal.
I tried turning off all my start-up services in msconfig.exe and turning them on one by one, and discovered that for some reason the Lenovo Camera Mute service is the one causing the problem. As long as that service is set to not start at boot, I don't have the problem with the fingerprint reader at logon.
Odd. I thought someone else might find that information useful.

Do you have "RapidBoot Shield" software installed on your computer? If so, would you please try uninstalling it and see if you still have this problem? RapidBoot Shield is known to cause all kinds of startup problems like this.

How about unhooking the keyboard cable and taping the end so it doesn't make contact with anything on the board and leave the keyboard on so you still have the power button.

T500 fingerprint reader files?

I have a Lenovo T500 with Win7 Pro and use a fingerprint reader for logon. After I installed Comodo Internet Security I was not able to logon using the fingerprint reader with default security settings, and I had to disable some functions of the security applications. I may need to add files that the fingerprint reader uses for logon to the list of trusted applications. What are the specific application files that fingerprint reader uses?

I suspect that both applications modify the GINA in Windows, and perhaps they both cannot co-exist as they make their own modifications to that security file.
Presently with an X201 and a T500/T410 combo
I've owned everything from a 701c up to present which equal a ton of ThinkPads

Sender mail Adapter - Log in Error

Hi,
I am facing the below error while communicating with the mail server using the POP3 transport protocol.
exception caught during processing mail message; java.io.IOException: unexpected password response; read -ERR Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.
Confimed with the mail server administrator there is no issue with log in credentials.
We are able to access the mail box using the same user ID & password through webservice URL. But if we use the same User ID & password in communication channel it is showing the above error.
Any one have the idea about other possibilities to get this error?

It is POP3 protocol setup. We are able to login using webservise URL. But not able to log in with Mail adapter.
