Read some HR archive files (object PA_PIDX) using Abap report

Hi experts,
an ABAP program that is supposed to read some HR archive files (object PA_PIDX) but all we can read is the object, we cannot access the individual lines. Please help

Hi Ajay,
1. You have to create a separate field catelogus and AIS according to your requirement with the required fields you want . Because the standard structures and field catelogues contains many fields from all tables. So before doing the read operation you have to deactivate the standard AIS and activate your newly created AIS .
2. Can you give some more details for this question to be answered.
3. The important archiving tables used are ARCH_IDX,ARCH_RPRG,ARCH_DEF.
4. While scheduling the Read process in batch mode , it will give you three criterias to be entered.
     . Spool Parameters
     (ii). Start date
     (iii). Archive selection of files.
    Unless you enter values for any one of these options , You cannot execute the batch job.

may help you to access the pictures without any db-access.

Getting error "Can't save the illustration. The file may be read only, or the file is in use by another application." The file is not read only and is not in use by another application.

The same thing may happen in Windows Explorer, specifically if it is a very big file (physical size), so preparing the preview may take a lot of time.
In that case it is used by "another application", that is: Explorer.
By the way, which version of Illustrator are you using, Tetons?

Save a attachment file in the shared folder of receiver using ABAP report

Hi all
Is it possible to save an attachment file in the folder of receiver's desktop using ABAP report?
I am using the standard mail sending code to mail the excel file as an attachment.
Consumer wants that file to be stored automatically in the folder of a shared drive he is using.
Is it possible?

You can do that via class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES method gui_download. But this is not working in background. Reports running in background cant reach presentation servers.
If you have XI/PI in place you can set up a scenario for that.

In addition to the above suggestions, would like to inform you that, if your requirement can be met by running those files in BPC Excel itself, what is the point in running ABAP program for the same?
It would be much more easier for you to run those files in BPC Excel itself and that is how BPC is designed.

dont you have used the os user while calling the FTP_CONNECT FM?
Hope you are not talking about the user executing the FTP program.
Else If you are talking about the FTP file creator then its not related to abap as you can handle it by maintaining the user in file name itself.
May be i am going too far with if and elses here as your question possesses no clarity.
Plz elaborate your requirement before anybody can help.

Read from PS_PROJECT archive files

Hi,
I created our custom read program by copying from SBOOKR demo program. However, it works for other archive objects except PS_PROJECT. The program returns with '0 record read' message. I checked the archive file, it's not empty. Does anybody have the same issue? Any info will be appreciated.

You could try debugging the program to see which function module it fails at. My guess is that there might some discrepancy in the way that the data has been passed to the FMs.

Unable to load project after delete some path with files but not used at all

Im using the demo of Premiere Pro CC last demo download today.
All the fuc**ng day editing some videos, and saved, then I deleted som efolder containing some video files (almost not used) then when I try to open premiere the project I were working, premiere opens, load and freezes and nothing happens, it keeps on the main area withouht any windows, and I cant get my 10 hours of work What happening with thei premiere ? And Im unable to open the project in Premiere CC 7.0 from another computer as saif it was done using new version.

TRY - Go to you Back Up project file or an Auto save and hope that recovers some of your work afterrestoring what you deleted.

Creating a file to be used by report ROIUH_LOAD_JEINTF for journal entry

Hello everyone,
My doubt is related to the PRA module -
I have to create a file to be used by program ROiUH_LOAD_JEINTF for journal entry creation. There are other programs also creating a similar file to what I am expected to create.
When I observe the existing programs, they have not used OPEN DATASET statement, instead directly used the TRANSFER dataset and then CLOSE DATASET.
What that does is it creates a file on the app server in a different format with only 1 line even if there may be like 10 lines of journal entry. The file mainly contains # which seems like some internal coding by the system.
When I tried using the OPEN DATASET statement, it wrote all the lines to the app server that were there in my internal table.
However, when I do not use the OPEN DATASET statement, it creates a file with just one line and maily # instead of the actual data from internal table.
Can any one explain what difference does it make to the system when we do not use the OPEN DATASET statement.

I think I was not clear enough about my doubt. I do not have any confusion about what OPEN DATASET would do.
In my case, there is a file being written to the app server without using an OPEN DATASET for OUTPUT statement. The Z program directly calls a TRANSFER statement.
The file that is created on the app server looks like:
7042008-11-01 000200100840 ######RD##################203 #### #####10012888 #####RI01 MC3
This file is used by the program ROIUH_LOAD_JEINTF. There are several lines in the internal table for Journal Entry creation but only 1 line shows in the file. However, when you debug the program ROIUH_LOAD_JEINTF with the above filename, you would see that it takes up all the JE lines that were passed from the previous program (the Z program) which created this file.
However, when I changed the Z program to have an OPEN DATASET statement, it had all the lines displayed in the file, the file was very readable.
I just wanted to know how does the system write to app server when no OPEN DATASET statement is written in the program.

We would like use our BW authorization design, and need therefore to incorperate these auth. objects into the abap.
What is the best way to this? Can we use function modules?

Status change of Single correction using Abap report

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement to change the status of Single correction CR's to "completed" and also set the preceding document to appropriate status . I am using the function module CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN followed by ORDER_SAVE to do so.
But this does not change the status.
Please let me know if there is anything that has to be done while changing the status of CR through an ABAP Report.

Problem in calling Client proxy using ABAP Report

All Your inputs and various threads were really helpful . i have followed this blog as well /people/ravikumar.allampallam/blog/2005/03/14/abap-proxies-in-xiclient-proxy
Now after all while trying to pass values to proxy i have an issue : in the above blog there is a small pinch of code for referencing the proxy through an abap report.
i.e. &----

DATA prxy TYPE REF TO zblogco_proxy_interface_ob.
CREATE OBJECT prxy.

Did you create a Data type,message type and Message interface and generated the proxy in trnx SPROXY?
If so, then a class gets created like ZCO...........
under which, structure gets created as you did in IR of XI.
Need to implement a BADI and Ztable on the Abap stack.So you get the values dynamically to your proxy.
For each change in your emp details,there will be a record in Ztable.
