Reader API Help Guide Needed
Hi Im using the free Acrobat reader within my application for viewing PDF files only.
Its the same that gets displayed in a browser and is activated as an activeX control.
It actually runs out of process as AcroRD32.exe
This has an API and quite a bit is intuitive but part of it is not.
Is these a help guide for using this API within your apps or scripts?
I need to try a switch a few things off etc and attempt to scale the view relative to my app.

That's a bug in whatever Java program you're running.
That's not an error specific to OS X.
(There's usually a whole lot more text dumped by Java, too.)
Check with whoever wrote or is supporting the package you're working with. -

In the mail app, I have tried to insert my mail account from from orange.sn. I am living overseas in West Africa. I have a POP(3) account that works fine with Windows Mail, but after inserting everything properly in the Mail account setting on my iPad, it still will not work. I have done everything Apple's help guides, user booklets and everything else said to do, but it simply won't work. Is Orange compatiple with the iPad? What could be the problem? Please help, its my only email account and it getting really frustrating.
Here is the message that pops up: "Cannot Get Mail. The Mail server "mail.orange.sn" is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account info in Mail settings."

I am selling my Macbook Air 2008 and need to reformat it back to it's factory settings. I've been reading the help but I don't seem to have a re-install drive for the USB port. Is this something post 2008 or can I get one from somewhere?

I want to change my primary e-mail address that I use with Apple ID - help guide says Select Edit next to “Apple ID and Primary Email Address.” But there is no 'edit' on that section there is on every other but not that one. Can anyone help?
You can create an alias @icloud.com email address within your current account that will receive email in your current iCloud inbox (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a490a). (@me.com addresses are no longer available as new addresses.) Just be aware that you cannot use an alias address later to create a new iCloud account or move it to a different account.
Also, even if you created a new iCloud account with a new ID, your existing purchases would not be lost. They are permanently tied to the original ID you used to purchase them. You can also continue to use the existing ID for the iTunes store; it does not need to be the same as the ID you use for iCloud. -
Regarding Adobe Reader API, I know it's very limited, but all I need to do is open a file and go to a particular page. I've tried:
With AcroPDF1
.LoadFile "C:\test.pdf"
.setCurrentPage 3

which gives me "Runtime Error 424, Object Required," and I've tried:
Dim AcroPDDoc As Object
Set AcroPDDoc = CreateObject("AcroExch.PDDoc")
Set pdDoc = CreateObject("AcroExch.PDDoc")
which gives me "Runtime error 429, Activex component can't create object."
I've made sure all References to anything Adobe or Acrobat are checked off (I'm programming in MS Access using VB).
What am I missing?

I have a similar problem, but I am not so familiar with VB or javascript or the Windows API, so I would appreciate explicit examples.
I would like to make a .bat script (yes, DOS, under Win XP) to open a .pdf document using Acrobat Reader (v. 8.1.0 in my case). If the document is already open, I would like to close it and reopen it.
Today, I do this with
"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.1\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" test.pdf
which works. However, it also locks the file for editing. I therefore need a way (from the command line) to either close test.pdf or open it read-only.
I realize that this (at least closing the document) should be accessible via Adobe Reader API or Acrobat IAC, possibly through the javascript command app.openDoc() (I have looked into the documents mentioned above), but I have no clue about how to do this from the command line. Anyone care to help me out with an example?

I want to create one interactive HELP guide that can be used by a variety of modules, essentially having a HELP button available at all times so that users can access help whenever required.
Is there a way for a button in a project to call a HELP project that executes, and when it is completed it returns to the slide in the project that it was called from?
Or are there other ways to implement a help system please?
Thanks.You would have to place (upload) the PDF to a server that people have access to via the internet. Then you only need to know the URL and add your PDF's file name to the end after a slash.

I have just downloaded Buddy API for Director 11 (windows)
and it is not working for me. I have downloaded the file and place
'Buddy API Help.chm', 'Buddy API Xtra.x32' and 'Read me.txt into
'C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Director 11\Configuration\Xtras'. I
have also added #namePPC:"Buddy API Xtra", #nameW32:"Buddy API
Xtra.x32" to the bottom of the xtrainfo.txt file.
I made a new project and named it 'test.dir' and saved this
in a filder called 'test' on the desktop. I placed one button on a
frame and added the code:

I created a text file and named it 'test.txt' and saved this
into the test folder on the desktop.
I then saved a projector of the project into the same folder.
When I click on the button, nothing happens???? WHAT AM I

When you say that you push the button and "nothing happens".
Do you
mean that literally? Or do you get an error message of some
sort? If
you have not added BuddyAPI into the projector, you should
get an error
stating that baOpenFile is not available (or perhaps a less
useful
"script error").
If you are not even getting that, then I assume you are using
a
#flashComponent button and you need to go into the Property
Inspector's
Flash Component tab and change the 'eventPassMode' to
#passAlways in
order to make the button work. -
My phone 5s 16gb gold did the new update and will not come back on. I already tried hard reboot still won't work. Been over a hour now. Please someone help I need my phone. This phone is not even 6 months old been in case no scratches. This is driving me crazy.

In the new mail app for OSX v10.7 Lion it seems I can only setup my gmail account as an "imap", when I need to set it up as "pop"... PLZ HELP I NEED MY MAIL TO WORK!!!
Go to System prefs
Select Mail Contacts and Calendars
Then select Other
Then select "Add a Mail Account and click create
Then go to google for the settings you need:

I previously had a problem with my Laptop dying randomly you can read about it in the thread entitled Computer dies Randomly (Battery also dead) click to view
Before I realised the solutions, I thought that maybe my Laptop had become infected with a Virus and decided it would be prudent to do a clean install of the Windows XP operating system.
Everything went perfectly and thought a clean install was a good opportunity to download the “XP Service Pack 3” SP3 and did so, it seemed very quiet though and that’s when I realised I had no sound…
I downloaded all of the sound drivers I could find on the Lenovo site for 3000 N100 (I knew from previous experience that the “SOUNDMAX” driver is the only one that actually works with this 3000 N100) in order to install this you have to install the Realtek HD audio driver, but in order to install that you have to install some other Driver/Soft that only works with SP1 or SP2 if you try to install it with SP3 it will say that you don’t need the file as your Service pack is newer than the file you want to install, this is understandable as SP3 is not final as of yet (but it’s good to know).
My next problem was that my extra RAM was not detected, this was fixed by updating the BIOS, after installing all of the System updates, PC Doctor, everything I could find for 3000 N100 I decided to rest, I pushed the Lenovo care button and it did not work, I found a hot key driver and installed it but still the Lenovo care button does not work, previously when I pushed this button it would bring up the Lenovo menu but now it’s just a dead button, Does anyone know how to get this button working again?
I am pretty sure that everything else is working fine now, just that button not working is very annoying, is there a set routing of installs you must do to get everything working, i.e. bios 1st audio 2nd system update 3rd etc...

Go to Solution.Ok first everything works now... except the Lenovo Care button, I just posted the other stuff cause it might help other members, I have searched the forum for an anwser to this problem but there was only one anwser (suggesting to uninstall the driver restart and re-install it) and it did not result in a working Lenovo Care button...
I don't beleive the Lenovo keyboad drivers are in any way related to the Service pack 3 as they do not use the Service pack files, to back this up I also had the same problem when Service Pack 2 was installed...
The Lenovo Care button works fine on Boot up screen to access the rescue and recovery software (So the mechanics of the button are fine) but once Windows XP loads it is just a dead button, I remember it used to open up the Lenovo Care Start bar, I got it working once in the past but I can't remember what I did, I thought someone here might know the anwser... -
I can no longer receive or send email via my Yahoo account from my iphone6. I've downloaded several "help guides" from the internet, deleted and re-added the account via imap settings. Nothing seems to work. Any ideas?
Use the yahoo app if available?

I recently purchased a Canon 7D. I own Adobe Photoshop/Bridge CS5. I cannot open my raw images in Bridge. I have tried to download the plug in but does not seem to work. Please Help, I need to be able to open my raw images in Bridge ASAP. I do not want to upgrade to CS6 at this time.
