Reading a parameter from the URL

Hi,
There is a custom OA page that I launch from another isupplier form. The custom OA page is supposed to query only details of the purchase order. I have taken the following approach but am unable to capture the parameter.
on the source form, i have personalized the po number column to include an URL with OA.jsp?page=/../../../TestPG&PoHeaderId={@ICX_HEADER_ID}
in the custom page, I write a code
//PoHdrId = "2346";
String PoHdrId = pageContext.getParameter("PoHeaderId")
I cannot read the parameter and i am hard coding this to make my custom page query for a particular PO number.

I have the similar problem.
I added a new Button thru' Personalization to the View Purchase Orders Page of iSupplier module.
In the destination URI of the newly created button I gave,
javascript:var print_window = window.open("http://server:port/OA_HTML/myJSPPage.jsp?PoNum={@PoNum}")
Before cliccking the button when I checked the properties of the link, it is not well formed. (i.e The Parameter {@PoNum} is shown as it is. The value is not substituted.)
When I Click the new button it is calling the custom jsp page, but not passing the PoNum parameter value instead it passes {@PoNum} string.
Please help me ASAP.

So far I have not been able to read a parameter in a way, do you have any example on how can I use parameters from URL from within a single page in an unbounded task flow?

I solved the problem. The invoked method was not part of the VO, but was part of the AM.

I have a problem. I want to know the id that is in the url of an extern site. For example http://www.example.com/employer.jsp?id=1234
Does anybody know how I can get the value 1234 fom the url. I have no idea but it is very important for me.

oic. If the document location according to the browser is that URL with the id or whatever, then you could use Javascript to set the value of a hidden form field:
<body ... onload="document.forms['myform'].submit();">
<form name="myform" ... onsubmit="this.url.value=document.location.href; return true;">
<input type="hidden" name="url" />
Of course, that'll submit the form on load, you can change that part if you want.
If the page is in a frameset and you want the top page's location, you can do:
<form name="myform" ... onsubmit="this.url.value=top.document.location.href; return true;">
But, the browser is going to have the location of whatever page it thinks it's viewing, and if it got there by a redirect, it'll show the page it is on, not the page it was redirected from. For forwarding, it'll still think it is on the page that did the forwarding, not the end page. In other words, whatever you see in the brower's location bar should be what you'll get.

How to Get Parameter Values from the URL ?

I have built a calendar called cal_test. I am calling this calendar with this URL:
http://.../pls/.../xyz.cal_test.show?p_arg_names=p_sc_id&p_arg_values=2&p_arg_names=_start_date&p_arg_values=FEB-2002
In the 'Additional PL/SQL Code' tab of cal_test, I need to call a procedure which requires me to pass in as parameters the values of p_sc_id and startdate embedded in the URL named above. How can I retrieve these 2 values from the URL ? Any advice will be appreicated !

How to get the web of document from the URL

Hi All,
Need small help here,
I have SharePoint doc URL as below:
http://sharepoint.com/sub1/sub2/sub3/documents/TestFile.docx
Here, TestFile existed in document library of Subsite i.e. sub3.
If I give above URL as input, I should be able to get "sub3" web.
How can achieve this programmatically. Overall we should get the leaf web from the URL.

The SPSite constructor does not care when you pass in the document library and filename as part of the url. you can use the following code:
string myFileUrl = "http://sharepoint.com/sub1/sub2/sub3/documents/TestFile.docx";
using (SPSite site = new SPSite(myFileUrl))
using (SPWeb web = site.OpenWeb())
SPFile file = web.GetFile(myFileUrl);
string webUrl = web.ServerRelativeUrl;
You pass the full url into the SPSIte constructor, it will retrieve the site collection, then the OpenWeb call will retrieve the proper web from the already passed full url, then you can retrieve the file and the url of the SPWeb.

Receive a parameter in the URL in adf application

using the sendRedirect to direct control to another adf application, as:
((HttpServletResponse)FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getResponse()).sendRedirect("some url");assuming that I am pushing parameters to the url, how can I read them in called application !!
to make the post clearer, assume that I have two adf applications A and B,
A will redirect the user to B using the sendRedirect method,
where shall I receive the request to get the parameters or attributes added to the URL !!!

Passing parameter to a wen dynpro application is done throught default inbound plug, which exist in interface viewcontroller
and you can access those parameter in implementaion of default inbound plug
To pass parameter
If MainWin is your main window of application then
1.in MainWininterfaceview controller add parameters in default inbound plug.
To access these parameter
1. In implementaion of MainWininterface view right a code to access these parameter
2.Store these parameters in controller context, so you will be access it from any screen
as
public void onPlugDefault(com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDCustomEvent wdEvent, java.lang.String SAPtestId )

set your controler context with SAPtestId

Webservices remove service name and port from the URL

Hi community,
so I have a server PC called "superlab"(*) and I also have a webservice called "superlab"(*). Now the users need to enter superlab:8001/superlab to the browser to access the service. I'd like them simply enter superlab.
So my questions:
1. how can I remove the service name from the URL
2. how can I remove the port number from the URL
3. (not related but I have difficulty to understand what it the point in "publishing" a webservice while simply starting it does the job as well)

True that if the connection is specified in the config it will be the same for everyone. However, every case is different. For example one of our apps gets S3 credentials (from non-Oracle S3) as session parameters. It uses this common db connection to validate some stuff with the database, read security definitions and then it re-connects the forms using the credentials.

Removing jsessionid from the url

Hi All,
While i create a Webdynpro iview from SAP Webdynpro iview template, the generated url gets appended with the parameter jsessionid as shown.
http://server:port/webdynpro/dispatcher/local/session/New_app;<b>jsessionid</b>=(J2EE14778100)ID1600385450DB11689045888563713719End
I don't want this parameter to be appended and exposed in the url of the ivew. Is there any way i can hide/remove this parameter from the generated url?

Hi Maksim,
Firstly, There is no such parameter for Webdynpro iview in EP 6.
Secondly, this parameter is available for Webdynpro template in EP 7, but even on setting it with jsessionid, the problem remains. jsessionid is still appended in the URL.
Please help me with any other possible ways.

In my applet I need to know the parameters that are in the URL. But I don't know how to do this.
I started with this:
String URL=getDocumentBase().toString();So URL has the full url, like: http://127.0.0.1./test.html?Testparam1=hello
What I could think of is to use :
int i = URL.getindexof("?Testparam1");
String value =URL.substring(i);But that is not very handy when using more parameters.
Is there an other way to get the parameters from the URL?

You could use a regex or a StringTokenizer, but I'll bet there's a library somewhere that'll do it for you. Probably something in Apache Jakarta Commons. As far as I know there's nothing in the standard library that'll fully parse query strings for you, although you can use java.net.URLDecoder to decode the url-encoding (the %xx encoding).
If you don't want to find a specialized library, then probably a regular expression is the easiest approach.

Is there a way to print a document from the URL?

I have found information on opening a pdf file to a specific page, or with bookmarks open, but are there parameters to print the specified pdf document from the URL?

Open your calendar in your browser and press your print screen key (Print Scrn) on your keyboard. Then paste this into an application like Paint. Once in Paint you can print it. Sorry to hear you are having a similar problem. Last night I went to the tool bar at the top of iphoto, clicked on "File", then clicked "Browse Backups" in the drop down menu.    I have an external hard drive that is set up to Time Machine.   The Browse Backups opened the iphoto pages in the Time Machine. I selected a date one day ahead of the day I performed the now infamous update, and it showed my iphoto library as it had existed that day.   I then clicked "Restore Library" at the bottom right corner of the Time Machine screen.   Roughly 2 hours later my iphoto was back to normal.   When I opened iphoto there was a message saying I need to upgrade my program to be compatible with the new version of iphoto(version 9.2.1). I clicked "Upgrade" and within seconds it had done whatever upgrading it needed to do.
The only glitch in the restoration was that it restored the library as it appeared last week, so I no longer had photos I had imported this past weekend.   I simply went back to the Browse Backups in the drop down menu, when Time Machine opened I selected the page showing my pictures from this weekend and again said to Restore Library.   Roughly 45 minutes later the library was restored including the most recent photos.
I am now a happy camper.
I don't know if any of this will be of help to you because your email says you are having trouble with photos imported after the upgrade was performed.   Have you had any pop up notices when you first open iphoto, that tell you you need an upgrade to be compatible with the new iphoto?     If so have you clicked "upgrade"?
Good luck Liz, if you have Time Machine running as a back up to your library, maybe you wil be able to get help there, by following my instructions above.   Otherwise,   good luck with your investigations.   I'd be interested in hearing how you make out.
