Reading an xml file as a String

Hi,
I have a file to file scenaio in which i have a Outbound data type that has only a single string field named Data.
I have an xml file as input whose structure is not fixed.
My input xml file should be read like a blob data through this single field.
Is this possible in XI?
AFAIK a xml file will be read only if the outboundDT if of the same structure of the XML.
Please send in ur suggestions as to how this could be acomplished in XI.

This can be easily done by using xsl mapping.
Using this mapping method, all we need to know, would be the root node of the source, after which a xsl:copyof() can be used to copy the entire source payload.

Error when reading a XML File

When I am reading an XML file in a folder I am getting extra characters like squares before and after each and every character of the XML file.
Why is this so.I thought they are spaces and trimmed it but i didnt work.I replaced thinking as escape characters and that also did not work.But when I am prionting the ASCII value of the first character of the file I am getting -17.
Please can anyone help me out of this.

The files in the folder are log.txt and output.xml(has UTF-16 as the encoding style in the first line).log.txt is read fine but output.xml is not.

1. First read the file in BINARY MODE into an XSTRING.
2. Then use the method create_istream_xstring to create the input stream
3. Then you need to create the document tree and the parser
4. Once your Document tree and your parser are created now can use the document tree to access individual elements.
Some Class interfaces that maybe helpful to you are as follows: if_ixml_node, if_ixml_node_iterator, if_ixml_element....etc

You can make the final code as dynamic as possible to read into an internal table.

Reading from XML file using DOM parser.

I have written the following java code to read the XML file and print the values. It reads the XML file. It gets the node NAME and prints it. But it returns null when trying to get the node VALUE. I am unable to figure out why.

because what you want is not the node value of CODE but the node value of the text nodes into it!
assuming only one text node into it, try this:

Reading external xml files from a jar

Hi,
I am trying to read an xml file from a jar (which is not present inside the jar ) .
I am passing the file name as a string (like C:/folder/filename) to the SAXBuilder but it throwing
unknown protocol: c error.
i tried using an url , tried using a relative path but to no use.
Need help in this regard urgently.

Actually, my application needs to read two xml files , parse it, perform some operation and write
the result to an output file.
The names of the two xml files i mentioned, are specified in a properties file as absolute paths. (I even tried converting them to URIs)
The xml files are in the same directory as the jar ( i dont know if it should matter as i am giving the absolute path).
The main class reads the names of the files and passes the names as strings to the SAXBuilder.
This is where i am getting an exception.
Going by what you said, is it not possible for a java class to read a fie outside of the jar ? Is there no way to do this ? And right now i am not sure of how to go about this or if there's any work around . Any help would be appreciated.

Here're my needs :
Our Busness partner send us a zip file cripted with a standard PGP(Pretty Goof Privacy).
The zip containts an XML file that i have to deal it, and some attachments file(PDF).
So i need to know what's the best approach for the developpement of my application.
I want to decrypt the ZIP and then Unzip the file and them read the XML file received in the zip.
Knowimg that we already have the pipeline compenent to dectypt the file with the strandar PGP and an other pipeline compenent to unzip the File.

Read an XML file and send it to client

I'm introducing to servlet development and I'm trying to do some AJAX calls. The client side is implemented, but I have some troubles on the server side. I want to open an XML file and send it to the client. How can I do that? Any special header?

I want to read an XML file and convert data into a Node instance because I need this for an XForm application.
My code is:

The problem: I can convert Node instance to Document instance (line A)
The error message is: "document cannot be resolved".
How can I do that??

Issue with reading a xml file from xsl

When I am trying to read a xml file from xsl, I am getting unwanted output.
Following is the XSL:

</ns0:ReceipentIDType>
