Reading date format

Hi,
The date I am selecting is '08-FEB-2010'.
I woukd like to select it as 'eight FEB 2010'.
Means I would like to read 08 in words(eight).Is there anyway that I can select the above way.
This is just my assumption.Please let me know if I am wrong.
Thanks in advance.

  • Aperture 2.1.2 cannot read date format in new iPhoto '09

    I've noticed that when I import photos from iPhoto '09 to Aperture, the image dates all change to 12/31/00 from the dates input in iPhoto. This was not the case in iPhoto '08, so I assume iPhoto '09 uses a new date format that Aperture cannot read.
    Has anyone else experienced this and is there an update to Aperture in the works that will correct this?

    For anyone else trying to import photos from iPhoto '09 into Aperture while retaining creation dates and comments added in iPhoto, I wanted to post the steps that worked for me.
    I am using Aperture v2.1.2, iPhoto 09 v8.01 (397), and System 10.5.6.
    1. In iPhoto, add date created and comments in lower left Information box for photo.
    2. In iPhoto, select all photos then choose Adjust Date and Time... in menu - change date by 1 second and select 'modify original files'. This will add the date you entered above in the Original Date in the photo EXIF data.
    3. Select all photos you want to export from iPhoto to Aperture and export as JPEG, Maximum JPEG Quality, Full Size, and select 'Title and Keywords' - export to a folder
    4. Open Aperture and import photos exported from iPhoto retaining All IPTC data.
    Your photos in Aperture will now have the correct metadata in Aperture for original date and comments.
    There may be a better way of doing this, but since iPhoto was updated to '09, this is the only way I have found to do what was straightforward in iPhoto '08.

  • UNABLE TO READ DATE FORMAT(DD/MM/YY) FROM EXCEL

    HI...
     i have written a code to read excel sheet.my problem is my program is working fine but in the first column i am having dates in dd/mm/yy format....This column is not getting value when the vi is running.Rest all the columns show the correct data except the date column...i have also changed the seperator and used '-' ,'.' but no use....
    sometimes it gives some random number there in 1st colum of array where i am storing the data after reading...i am not understanding why this is happening...
    pls can any1help me out.........

    I'm going to take a guess and say the day/month thing is a typo.
    In Excel when a cell is formatted to date in windows (By Default) it starts from Jan 1 1900 as day 1. Mac uses Jan 1 1904 as Does LabVIEW.
    Formatting to date in Excel calculates number of days since 1900, 12/08/2009 is equal 40155 days. LabVIEW calculates seconds since 1904.
    If the formatting in the spreadsheet cannot be changed because the data is already there then you will need to convert the number in LabVIEW by pulling out the value, subtract 4 years of days, then multiply by seconds in a day. This will give you a time LabVIEW can use. get the date and then insert the data back into the array.

  • How to read data from a file that was formatted by excel?

    Hi everyone, I'm familiar with java.io and the ability to read from files, can anyone tell me how to read data from a file that was formatted by excel? Or at least give me some web references so that I can learn about it?

    http://jakarta.apache.org/poi/hssf/index.html
    HSSF stands for Horrible Spreadsheet Format, but it still works!

    I have a acrobat reader, can I import text delimited data format to a PDF Form so that it can auto fill into forms that was created? If not, what about FDF and XML data

    Yes, you can do all of that via Tools - Forms - More Form Options - Import Data, if you have Acrobat.
    If you only have the free Reader then you can still do it, but it requires a script.

  • Problem with reading English UK date format in Excel

    When I build and debug the rulebase I get the following error: Error in rulebase: "Cannot perform comparison expression on right expression with type number".
    The actual problem is that it does not read the date correctly in Excel. I have got the following date comparison >=31-09-2011 in excel. Instead of reading 31st September 2011 it tries to reed as 9th of the 31month 2011...
    I have set all language and location, region settings to English United Kingdom (dd/MM/yyyy), United Kingdom but it seems it does not help. In Excel I have set English UK as well.
    OPM version: 10.1.0.27
    Windows 7
    MS Office 7
    I had this problem previously but I resolved by changing language or location setting I think, or language for non-Unicode programs. I cannot remember exactly. But this time it seems it does not work. Reinstalling does not work either.
    Can anybody help with this?
    What settings OPM uses to read the date?
    Thank you!

    Jasmine, you are right 31-09-2011 is a wrong date, I just typed any date as an example and didn't realize that it is an impossible date . We use many dates in Excel in a format dd-MM-yyyy (we do not type in date in runtime).
    In the link you have sent it says that "Formatted attribute values based on rulebase region are used".
    Date:
    " if your region was set to the United States you would see the following: MM-dd-yy"
    "Region set to Australia, which includes the date format dd/MM/yy
    Region in our project is set to United Kingdom so the date format should be dd-MM-yyyy.
    I have checked that OPM Project Properties Language is set to English (UK) so it should be fine.
    The strange thing is that it works fine on other laptops - the date 03-09-2011 is red as 3 September 2011, but on my laptop it is red as 9 March 2011.
    When it comes to read the date 30-09-2011, on other laptops is red as 30 September 2011, but on mine cannot make a date as there is no month number 30 so it throws the error "Cannot perform comparison expression on right expression with type number"... What actually happens is that on my laptop OPM reads the dates from Excel in American format.
    As I wrote earlier, It was working fine at my laptop as well before reinstalling Windows. I had this problem long time ago again but I was able to resolve it by changing language,region settings in Windows I think.
    Now it seems like I have got the same language,region settings in Windows as I had before, my colleagues got the same language, region settings on their machines as well.
    Iit seems like dd/MM/yyyy is red fine (UK format), but the format dd-MM-yyyy is red in American format...
    What settings should be set in Windows or Excel or maybe somewhere else OPM to read the date from Excel in English UK format dd-MM-yyyy?

  • How to read data from PC format external disk, using Labview MAC

    Hi folks,
    For years I have not been able to read data files from a PC formatted (created) external disk, using Labview for Mac. More specifically:
     - I have Labview 7.01 running on OS X 10.4.11 on a PowerBook G4
     - I have a 500GB external USB/firewire disk that was formatted on a PC and has data files (custom format) that were created on the PC. I believe that C code actually creates the files, but Labview 7/PC opens the files and appends some info (I don't think the fact that C or Labview touches the files is actually relevant to this issue though).
     - I can connect the 500 GB disk to my mac, and it will mount just fine and OS X can see all of the data files (and anything else on the disk).
     - if I use my Labview app to open and read a data file it fails:
           - open/create/replace.vi (with read-only access) shows a file dialog window that lets me navigate to any file on the external disk.
           - but, the vi returns an error 7
     - if I use OS X to copy the data file to my Mac disk, my Labview app works fine.
    So, does anyone know if:
     - I'm just doing something wrong in my Mac Labview app?
     - Labview 7.x solves this problem?
     - Labview 8/Mac solves this problem?
     - OS X 10.5 solves this problem; with Labview 7 or 8; or does OS X 10.5 worsen the problem?
    Thanks, in advance...

    Hi kehander,
    Thanks for the reply. I tried filling a constant path with the Mac-defined path to a data file on the USB disk (ie "DATA2:file1.dat"). This resulted in the same error message.
    I then considered that maybe I was misinterpreting the LV error message, and that perhaps I was supposed to address the file using PC-notation (ie. "DATA2\file1.dat"), even though the app is running on a Mac. No joy with this, but I get a different error msg:
    "Error 1430 occurred at Open File
    Possible reason(s):
    LabVIEW:  The path is empty or relative. You must use an absolute path."
    Can you share what your reasoning was for your suggestion... I'm not sure I understand why a constant path would produce different results?

  • CLIENT_OLE2 date formatting problem while reading from Excel

    I have installed webutil package and tested that everything works by running webutil_demo as well as WU_TEST_106 form. Then I had implemented reading from Excel sp. sheet using Oracle note 813535.1 (This note has OLE2 code sample on how to read an Excel file). Everything fine till now. The problem started when I have a date fiield to read from Excel. The field where the value is going to has format mask of 'DD-MM-RRRR'. When the date is displayed in the form, it shows '01-AUG-0009' instead of '01-AUG-2009'. I tried changing the date format to different formats in Excel but no go. I found one blog which stated that treat the date as number and use e.g. "cell_date_value:=to_date('01/01/1900','DD/MM/YYYY')+client_OLE2.get_num_property(cel,,'Value')+2" but it too did not change the display. Then I tried debugging and stepping through the code..the only thing I noticed that OLE2 function displayed the date with 2 digit year as 09 and when the code completed execution, the date went back to '01-AUG-0009'. Casting with 4 digit year at every step in the code is not helping to change final date display correctly. Any idea?!!!

    Hi,
    While reading the date column from excel, try using
         m_col_val := OLE2.get_char_property(Workcell,'Text');
    Instead of
         m_col_val := OLE2.get_char_property(Workcell,'Value');
    I think you problem will be solved...
    hello...i meant client_OLE2

  • Reading data from microsoft 97-2003 format excelsheet in FLEx 4.6

    Reading data from microsoft 97-2003 format excelsheet in FLEx 4.6

    Not easy. Your best bet is probably to convert it to another format (e.g. CSV). You could get the user to do that before upload, or you could use an online converter such as Google Docs to do it for them. If you have your own server, there are various server-side components that can handle xls.

  • Why date format dosent work with adobe reader?

    Hei,
    I have a pdf form I have done with adobe pro. I have one textbox where comes date and I formating it date. It work fine with adobe pro but when I convert it to:
    Copy As - Reader Extended PDF - Enable Additional Features...
    it wont work... It allows to write everything to this textbox.
    I need all those extention to my customer, but still I would like to that this date textbox could be written only date format (exemple 12.12.1212).
    Can somebody help me and tell how can I put it work whit my extended PDF?
    Thank you for your help?

    Hello,
    I cannot tell what are the exact differencies between the version. But I can tell you should always use (at least try to use the newest Reader). I guess you´re not the only developer on Forms, so there are possibly more people depending on the version of the client browser/ Reader. There is a solution for this problem, which does not ask anything from you, only the user.
    You can easily test the Reader version through JS coding and act based on the result. I use this like this "if your Reader is lower than 8.1" then "message popup = We are sorry, your Reader is too old, this form won´t work for you. Please upgrade first.". It takes like 5 minutes (10 for lame users at max) to update his Reader.
    Maybe you should this about such a test, if the user passes the test, his application won´t have any problem, if not there is no guarantee. And YOU have no problem, nobody tells you "hey sir, your form is not working, I´m not gonna pay you".

  • Problem with Date formatting

    Hi Tim,
    I am facing some issues with formatting the date using XMLP. The following is the sample XML data file i am using:
    <LIST_G_HEADER>
    <G_HEADER>
    <QUOTE_HEADER_ID>1455</QUOTE_HEADER_ID>
    <QUOTE_NUMBER>2027</QUOTE_NUMBER>
    <QUOTE_VERSION>1</QUOTE_VERSION>
    <QUOTE_NAME>Test GM Report - Rabindra</QUOTE_NAME>
    <SOURCE_NAME>Fletcher, MR. Paul</SOURCE_NAME>
    <QUOTE_DATE>27-OCT-2005</QUOTE_DATE>
    <CURRENCY_CODE>GBP</CURRENCY_CODE>
    </G_HEADER>
    </LIST_G_HEADER>
    The formatting i use for my date field i.e <QUOTE_DATE>, ends up either with NO formatting or giving me an error "[010906_114656657][][ERROR] Invalid XSD string: 27-OCT-2005 (XMLP Template Viewer)". The default formatting available with the form field dialog box (MS-Word) feature also doesn't work.
    I have the following formatting for this field in the form field:
    <?format-date:QUOTE_DATE; 'MEDIUM' ?>
    When i read the user guide, it reads that the date should be in the canonical format i.e: YYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss+HH:MM
    However i am not getting the date from the base table's in this format. Is the error happening due to incorrect format or is there some other reason behind this? Please let me know, how can i overcome this issue.
    Thx,
    Nitin

    As i mentioned in another thread
    substring function and date format
    Please use this standards

  • Need to convert into date format

    Hi all,
    I need to convert '2008-11-26T11:07:38-06:00' [YYYY]-[MM]-[DD]T[HH]:[MM]:[SS][TIMEZONE]
    in format 'YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS'.
    Thanks in advance.

    >
    Thank you for your reply
    But it is giving me output as '26-NOV-08'
    And I want in format '2008-11-26 07:38' i.e 'YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM'.
    >
    Then you are not looking for a date, You are looking for a string.
    The date format that gets displayed is dependent on nls_date_format parameter.
    If you want a string in the format you asked, then,
    SELECT TO_CHAR ( TO_DATE ( '2008-11-26T11:07:38-06:00', 'YYYY-MM-DD"T"HH24:MI:SS"-06:00"'), 'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MM:SS')
      FROM DUAL;Or if you just want the date to be displayed like that then
    Do,
    SQL> alter session set nls_date_Format="YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS";
    Session altered.
    SQL> SELECT TO_DATE ( '2008-11-26T11:07:38-06:00', 'YYYY-MM-DD"T"HH24:MI:SS"-06:00"') dt
      2    FROM DUAL;

    Hi
    If you can convert the excel to a csv format, then it can be simply query from DB Creating Oracle External Tables. Best part is that you may still change the CSV using EXCEL.
    Following action Points can be adopt;
    *1. Convert Excel File to a csv. File Save as CSV*
    *2. Create Oracle Directory* ( This has to be the location of your excel file )
    SQL> Create directory mydir as 'C:\testdb'; --- "testdb" is the location folder in win for your excel sheet.
    *3. Create the External Table*
    SQL> create table my_ext_tab (
    Field1 Datatype,
    Field2 Datatype,
    Field3 Datatype,
    Field4 Datatype,
    Field5 Datatype
    Organization external
    (type oracle_loader default directory mydir
    access parameters (records delimited by newline fields terminated by ',')
    location ('my_ext_tab.csv'))
    reject limit 100;
    *4. Now you can query the table "my_ext_tab"*
    Select * from "my_ext_tab";
    Please avoid the reformat the data column inside the spreadsheet (CSV).

  • TcpListener not working on Azure: Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host

    Hi Everybody,
    i'm playing a little bit with Windows Azure and I'm blocked with a really simple issue (or maybe not).
    I've created a Cloud Service containing one simple Worker Role. I've configured an EndPoint in the WorkerRole configuration, which allows Input connections via tcp on port 10100.
    Here the ServiceDefinition.csdef file content:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <ServiceDefinition name="EmacCloudService" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ServiceHosting/2008/10/ServiceDefinition" schemaVersion="2014-01.2.3">
    <WorkerRole name="TcpListenerWorkerRole" vmsize="Small">
    <Imports>
    <Import moduleName="Diagnostics" />
    <Import moduleName="RemoteAccess" />
    <Import moduleName="RemoteForwarder" />
    </Imports>
    <Endpoints>
    <InputEndpoint name="Endpoint1" protocol="tcp" port="10100" />
    </Endpoints>
    </WorkerRole>
    </ServiceDefinition>
    This WorkerRole is just creating a TcpListener object listening to the configured port (using the RoleEnvironment instance) and waits for an incoming connection. It receives a message and returns a hardcoded message (see code snippet below).
    namespace TcpListenerWorkerRole
    using System;
    using System.Net;
    using Microsoft.WindowsAzure.ServiceRuntime;
    using System.Net.Sockets;
    using System.Text;
    using Roche.Emac.Infrastructure;
    using System.IO;
    using System.Threading.Tasks;
    using Microsoft.WindowsAzure.Diagnostics;
    using System.Linq;
    public class WorkerRole : RoleEntryPoint
    public override void Run()
    // This is a sample worker implementation. Replace with your logic.
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Info("TcpListenerWorkerRole entry point called");
    TcpListener listener = null;
    try
    listener = new TcpListener(RoleEnvironment.CurrentRoleInstance.InstanceEndpoints["Endpoint1"].IPEndpoint);
    listener.ExclusiveAddressUse = false;
    listener.Start();
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Info(string.Format("TcpListener started at '{0}:{1}'", RoleEnvironment.CurrentRoleInstance.InstanceEndpoints["Endpoint1"].IPEndpoint.Address, RoleEnvironment.CurrentRoleInstance.InstanceEndpoints["Endpoint1"].IPEndpoint.Port));
    catch (SocketException ex)
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Exception("Unexpected exception while creating the TcpListener", ex);
    return;
    while (true)
    Task.Run(async () =>
    TcpClient client = await listener.AcceptTcpClientAsync();
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Info(string.Format("Client connected. Address='{0}'", client.Client.RemoteEndPoint.ToString()));
    NetworkStream networkStream = client.GetStream();
    StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(networkStream);
    StreamWriter writer = new StreamWriter(networkStream);
    writer.AutoFlush = true;
    string input = string.Empty;
    while (true)
    try
    char[] receivedChars = new char[client.ReceiveBufferSize];
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Info("Buffer size: " + client.ReceiveBufferSize);
    int readedChars = reader.Read(receivedChars, 0, client.ReceiveBufferSize);
    char[] validChars = new char[readedChars];
    Array.ConstrainedCopy(receivedChars, 0, validChars, 0, readedChars);
    input = new string(validChars);
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Info("This is what the host sent to you: " + input+". Readed chars=" + readedChars);
    try
    string orderResultFormat = Encoding.ASCII.GetString(Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes("\xB")) + @"MSH|^~\&|Instrument|Laboratory|LIS|LIS Facility|20120427123212+0100||ORL^O34^ORL_O34| 11|P|2.5.1||||||UNICODE UTF-8|||LAB-28^IHE" + Environment.NewLine + "MSA|AA|10" + Environment.NewLine + @"PID|||patientId||""""||19700101|M" + Environment.NewLine + "SPM|1|sampleId&ROCHE||ORH^^HL70487|||||||P^^HL70369" + Environment.NewLine + "SAC|||sampleId" + Environment.NewLine + "ORC|OK|orderId|||SC||||20120427123212" + Encoding.ASCII.GetString(Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes("\x1c\x0d"));
    writer.Write(orderResultFormat);
    catch (Exception e)
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Exception("Unexpected exception while writting the response", e);
    client.Close();
    break;
    catch (Exception ex)
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Exception("Unexpected exception while Reading the request", ex);
    client.Close();
    break;
    }).Wait();
    public override bool OnStart()
    // Set the maximum number of concurrent connections
    ServicePointManager.DefaultConnectionLimit = 12;
    DiagnosticMonitor.Start("Microsoft.WindowsAzure.Plugins.Diagnostics.ConnectionString");
    RoleEnvironment.Changing += RoleEnvironment_Changing;
    return base.OnStart();
    private void RoleEnvironment_Changing(object sender, RoleEnvironmentChangingEventArgs e)
    // If a configuration setting is changing
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Info("RoleEnvironment is changing....");
    if (e.Changes.Any(change => change is RoleEnvironmentConfigurationSettingChange))
    // Set e.Cancel to true to restart this role instance
    e.Cancel = true;
    As you can see, nothing special is being done. I've used the RoleEnvironment.CurrentRoleInstance.InstanceEndpoints to retrieve the current IPEndpoint.
    Running the Cloud Service in the Windows Azure Compute Emulator everything works fine, but when I deploy it in Azure, then I receive the following Exception:

    As you can see, the client can connect to the service (the log shows the message: Client connected with the address) but when it tries to read the bytes from the stream, it throws the exception.
    For me it seems like Azure is preventing the retrieval of the message. I've tried to disable the Firewall in the VM in Azure and the same continues happening.
    I'm using Windows Azure SDK 2.3
    Any help will be very very welcome!
    Thanks in advance!

    I changed your code like this:
    private AutoResetEvent connectionWaitHandle = new AutoResetEvent(false);

    input = new string(validChars);
