After I ran SharePoint configuration wizard successfully to upgrade to SharePoint 2013 / SP1.
I can open Central Administration site just fine.
but now when I open any Site collection, I got this error.
Server Error in '/' Application
This operation can be performed only on a computer that is joined to a server farm by users who have permissions in SQL Server to read from the configuration database. To connect this server to the server farm, use the SharePoint Products Configuration
Wizard, located on the Start menu in Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Products
I have restarted all the servers: SQL server, WFE and APP servers but still cann't get this resolve.
Services on all servers are running, IIS - application pools are running.
Can someone help with where that could be a problem or if there is a solution.

Please verify the followings:
Make sure that from the SharePoint front end and application servers that you can ping your SQL server.
Make sure that your Farm account has permission to the configuration database.
Lastly verify that your database didn't for some reasons go into recovery mode.
once everything is fine and you are still having issues, restart the SQL host service on the SQL server.
Once the service is restarted you will need to reboot Central Admin and then your front end servers.
In addition, as you built your farm inside the firewall, please disable the firwall, or create rules for SQL Server service in the firwall on SQL server.

Before you run SQL Server 2008 express setup, make sure that you have installed Windows installer 4.5 and.NET Framework 3.5 SP1 manually. For more information about the process, please refer to the article:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143506(v=sql.100).aspx. Moreover, please turn off all the third-party softwares which could prohibit the installation process.
According to your error message, the issue could be due to that your account has no rights to install SQL Server, or the corruption on the media.
Firstly, please ensure that your account has admin rights. Also make sure that you right-click the setup.exe and choose “Run as administrator” to complete the installation.
Secondly, please check if "msdbdata.mdf" file exists at d:\8268cd7b247d294de359c9\x86\setup\sql_engine_core_inst_msi\PFiles\SqlServr\MSSQL.X\MSSQL\Binn\Template. If it exists, please make sure that your account has read permission to the extracted
folder.
However, if the file doesn't exist in the extraction, the media could be corrupt. Please download the
media
again and check if the issue still occurs.

HTTPS request signed by client certificate from PL/SQL procedure

Hi All, please help.
The PL/SQL procedure connects to different web services, using both HTTP/HTTPS, for HTTPS sever certificates were used. Everything was OK.
The next service requires client to sign requests with client certificate. I made the client certificate, sign it by CA, store it in Wallet Manager.
Is here the possibility to send signed HTTPS request from PL/SQL?
If not, how to do it using Java and encapsulate for PL/SQL?
Please answer ASAP!!!

It is pretty straight-forward to make HTTPS requests with UTL_HTTP.
To do so, you first need to create an Oracle wallet on the database server host with Oracle Wallet Manager. If your database resides on Windows, I believe a short-cut has been created in the Windows menu. On Linux, it can be invoked from $ORACLE_HOME/bin/owm.
Once the wallet is created, you need to make an additional call to utl_http.set_wallet(<wallet-directory>, <wallet-password>) before any utl_http.request or utl_http.begin_request calls. The <wallet-directory> is the wallet directory where you will find the cwallet.sso and/or ewallet.p12 files, using the format "file:/<wallet-directory>". For example:
utl_http.set_wallet('file:/home/oracle/wallets/my_wallet/', '123456');
When an Oracle wallet is created, it is pre-populated with common certificate authorities' certificates (e.g. Verisign). In the event that the server certificate of the HTTPS host is not signed by one of those common certificate authorities, you need to import the additional certificate authority's certificate in your wallet using Oracle Wallet Manager.

New to Web Services - need to call a HTTPS web service from PL/SQL

I am new to Web Services and need to call HTTPS web service from PL/SQL program. I am using 10g Database.
I have been reading there are 2 options -
1. UTL_HTTP - with this package its possible to call HTTPS web services
2. UTL_DBWS
Questions -
1. Is it possible to call a HTTPS web service using UTL_DBWS ? I have not been able to find any information on it.
2. Can someone point me to UTL_HTTP and UTL_DBWS examples calling a HTTPS web service ?
3. The HTTPS web service that I need to call needs username/password to connect - how will I incorporate this in the pl/sql code ?

Unable to download document from HTTPS site in ADF

The Java Secure Socket Extension (JSSE) library from Sun Microsystems lets you access a secure Web server from behind a firewall via
proxy tunneling. To do this, the JSSE application needs to set the https.ProxyHost and https.ProxyPort system properties. The
tunneling code in JSSE checks for "HTTP 1.0" in the proxy's response. If your proxy, like many, returns "HTTP 1.1", you will get an
IOException. In this case, you need to implement your own HTTPS tunneling protocol.
In this article, I will show you how to create a secure socket that tunnels through the firewall, and pass it to the HTTPS stream handler to
open HTTPS URLs using the URLConnection class.
Open the http tunnel socket to the proxy
The first step to creating your secure socket is to open the tunneling socket to the proxy port. The code needed to do this proxy
handshaking can be found in the sample code SSLClientSocketWithTunneling.java that comes with the JSSE distribution. First, a normal socket is created that connects to

However, issuing http commands to the tunneling SSL socket to access Webpages is not ideal because it would mean having to rewrite the whole http protocol handler from
scratch. Instead, you should use the HTTPS URL APIs that the JSSE already includes for that purpose. To do this, you have to pass the tunneling SSL socket to the HTTPS URL
stream handler.
Pass SSL socket to HTTPS URL stream handler
The JSSE library has an HttpsURLConnection class that is in the com.sun.net.ssl package, which extends the java.net.URLConnection class. An HttpsURLConnection object
is returned by the URL object's openConnection() method when "HTTPS" is specified as the protocol. The HttpsURLConnection class has a method, setSSLSocketFactory(),
that lets you set an SSLSocketFactory of your choice. To pass the tunneling SSL socket to the HTTPS URL stream handler, you would set the setSSLSocketFactory()
method's parameter with a socket factory that returns the tunneling SSL socket that you created previously.
To do this, you would wrap the code discussed previously in an SSLTunnelSocketFactory class that extends from the SSLSocketFactory class. The SSLSocketFactory is an
abstract class. To extend it, you must implement the createSocket() method to return the tunneling SSL socket that you created earlier:

I need to import data from a Sybase SQL Anywhere vers. 7 database. This RDBMS was used more 10-12 years ago. I want to write Sybase data into a SQL Server 2008 R2-2012 database. For testing purposes I'm using SQL Server 2005.
After that I've installed Sybase SQL Anywhere vers. 7 I can use the Adaptive Anywhere 7.0 ODBC. I'd like to use SSIS to import Sybase data, but I cannot create an OLE DB connection in a right manner while I can create and ODBC connection manager and so I
can use an Execute SQL task (and not a data flow task, unfortunately!).
Well, after using this Execute SQL task to read fe a table with thousands of data rows how can I write the entire data collection on a SQL Server table?

How are you "asked to pay"? Can you post a screenshot?
Anyway, download the free Reader from http://get.adobe.com/reader/ and make sure you uncheck any bundled software you don't want.

if yes is there any challenges or any document available from Microsoft on Hyper V SCCM VM snapshot recovery.

I've made it work and it "should" work. However it's not the best practice method of site recovery. You should recover using a SQL restore.

Note that you should be using snapshots only on occasions when you are carrying out a risky operation. You can revert it the operation fails. It is not a substitute for a robust backup solution.

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to get information from multiple lists once a user was selected.
There is no out of the box way to accomplish this with SharePoint.
As a workaround, I recommend to create a list to store the user names. Then you can create relationships between lists using the browser UI. Once you select the user name in the parent list, the associated items will be displayed in the child lists.
