Reading Metadata Tags from FLV

For an example - before the .flv plays I want to add all the cue point data to a list so then a user can seek through the video from a list - instead of the cue point data to be added to a list when the stream reaches the event time tagged?
Thanks,
George

I'm currently working on some code for an AWID RFID reader. Not sure about other brands but generally you communicate using datagrams, DatagramPacket and DatagramSocket. The AWID unit requires HEX code commands to be packed in the datagram and sent to start reading Gen2 cards. The response is processed in a while loop with socket.receive(packet) and the bytes converted into the card ID. This unit is Power over Ehternet and not on a comm port so it's addressed via an IP address. Hope some of this helps.

  • Gallery: read Metadata tags

    Hello,
    LR-WEB-Gallery provides options to read metadata tags and insert them into WEB-pages by means of this code:
    ["perImageSetting.keywords"] = {
      enabled = true,
      value = "{{com.adobe.keywords}}",
      title = LOC "$$$/WPG/HTML/CSS/properties/ImageKeywords=Keywords",
    and then using the selector and the template text editor in the WEB-UI.
    This method is a bit cumbersome.
    On the other hand some tags can be inserted directly into the details.html like so:
    <p>$image.metadata.keywords</p>
    I prefer this method as it allows to place the desired tags indivdually on the grid.html or details.html.
    I am now curious to learn about a list of the tags that can be read that way because I found that many very common tags are not read that way.
    A list of tags is in the SDK 3.0 but I can't get it to work for most of the tags (not all).
    The values for all these tags are in database (Library Module) and the data has been saved to xmp-sidecar files.
    Still, the data is not read and results as 'nil'.
    Hopefully this is only a syntax issue only.
    Below some examples of common tags not being read:
    $image.metadata.title
    $image.metadata.copyright
    $image.metadata.location
    $image.metadata.isoCountryCode
    $image.metadata.city
    $image.metadata.state
    $image.metadata.country
    ...results
    Location:nil
    ISO Country Code:nil
    City:nil
    Thanks for replies.

    Hi,
    I'm referring to the "TAGS" field.
    I know they appear, but do they serve any purpose beyond simply appearing there? It seems redundant with the DESCRIPTION field. We were told the TAGS field would server some other, more sophisticated purpose, and I wanted to know if that purpose had ever been implemented. Our editorial team doesn't see any value in creating the content for the TAGS field if all it does is display in the browse mode. And I tend to agree. The TAGS field is not searchable as far as I know, or is it???
    Kindest regards,
    Brad

  • How do I set BI Publisher to read html tags from the database?

    How do I set BI Publisher (Release 10.1.3.4) to read html tags from the database? For example if the text is quoted with a bold tag I want my output to display the text in bold. Is there a setting or something I can set?

    I took a look at Tim Dexter's blog as suggested and the sample worked, but for the elements in the xml file not for the value coming from the database, however this is good to know as well!
    I have data in the data base column which looks like this:
    'MS Applied <B(bold tag)> Mathematics</B(bold tag)>University of Southern California'
    I want the data to be rendered like this:
    'MS Applied <B>Mathematics</B> University of Southern California'.
    In Report Builder on the property sheet I would set Contains HTML Tags property to Yes and the report would render correctly.
    In BI Publisher 10.1.3.4 I can not seem set it to read this I have change the configure properties of the report to Character set to HTML and Make HTML output accessible to True. I just can't figure out what I'm missing.
    Thank you for any assistance you can offer.

  • Reading metadata to - from image files

    I am using Creative Suite CS4.  In CS3 I created two custom XMP metadata pages that I used to add information to RAW, TIF, PSD files.  The resulting custom panel could be seen and used in Bridge and Extensis Portfolio.  In CS4 that all changed.  I can create the GUI part of the panel using Flex Builder 3.
    My questions are 1) How do you get the controls to work (combo boxes with fixed lists, fields for text data and a note field), 2) how do I get the data from the image file, have it update when a field changes, read it back to the image file when closed, and 3) how do I get it to work in Bridge CS4 properly and also be readable to Extensis Portfolio.
    I have attached the CS3 files that were used to create the panels in CS3.

  • I need my java program to read HTML tags from the browser...

    so, i've made this java GUI, which can run from my internet explorer toolbar...
    as of now, this program doesn't do anything, it just produces an interface with blank fields
    i want these fields to automatically add information about the current web page on the browser... basically, is there any way that my java program can automatically read the HTML source of the web page opened? i just need it to be able to capture the page's URL and title.
    i programmed it using NetBeans, and it runs from the .jre file outside of NetBeans. I got an icon for it to appear on my IE toolbar by editing my computer's registry. When I click on this icon, my GUI runs, but doesn't do anything. Can I get it to read (i.e. automatically output on one of the textfields on my GUI) the URL and title of the webpage that i'm currently on? I want this to work like Bookmarks/Favourites does, so that means i don't want to download every single webpage before reading from it.
    any help will be greatly appreciated.

    I think that if you wanted to do this, it would involve something like the following:
    Have your toolbar GUI listen on a local port
    Set IE to proxy to localhost at that port
    Tunnel/proxy all requests. This will allow you to intercept the page source and the original request. Between the request URL, the request payload, the HTTP headers of request and response and the response payload, that's everything the browser would 'see'. The downside of the above is that you cannot intercept SSL (HTTPS) requests. You might be able to use the Windows/IE API (native) to fetch page source, but this would definitely be an application and O/S specific solution.

  • Bug: "Read metadata from file"

    When I add GPS coordinates to a file (with the program Geotagger) and select "read metadata from file" to import the new metadata, a color adjustment badge appears on the thumbnail (even though I didn't adjust any colors). This only happens with files that have a cropping applied to them in Lightroom. If the file doesn't have a custom cropping the color adjustment badge doesn't appear. It happens with both JPG and CR2 files. Seams like a bug to me.
    I'm on a 24" iMac 2.8 with 4 GB and OSX 10.5.5 / Lightroom 2.1

    It also happens with DNG. Anyway, I don't think it has anything to do with the GPS, but the issue has been around right back through version 1.x Try the following:
    1. Select an image that has no crops or develop adjustments
    2. Switch to Develop module
    3. Apply a crop
    4. Save metadata to file (Cmd+S)
    5. Read metadata back from file (Metadata menu - "Read Metadata from file"
    Please report what happens?
    At my end the Crop badge remains but a Develop Adjustment badge also appears - IMO it shouldn't, but as stated above it has for a VERY long time. I'll bug it again and see what happens.

  • How to edit hidden metadata tags?

    Hi, how can I edit the hidden metadata tags used for television (season, episode, etc.) ? I know that iTunes automatically inherits metadata tags from mp4 files, but I am using avi files wrapped in a quicktime media link. Is there a way to do this directly? Alternatively, is there a way to wrap a media link in a mp4 file?

    Having looked around, I can only find two programs that support editing these "hidden" tags: Lostify and Atomic Parsley. Lostify is limited to MPEG4 video, and Atomic Parsley is limited to MPEG4 in general (.mp4, .m4a, .m4p, .m4v, .m4b). There doesn't seem to be a tool out there that lets you, say edit the iTunes Music Library.xml file, which would be dang handy.
    http://home.comcast.net/~lowellstewart/lostify/
    http://atomicparsley.sourceforge.net/
    Has anyone come across any other options?
    What I find particularly exasperating is that "rational" hand-editting of the XML file seems to have no impact (e.g., I have a bunch of podcast episodes that were downloaded individually, since they had fallen off the end of the podcast RSS... and there is no way to seamlessly merge them into a single podcast stream -- or to kick them all into the "Music" section of the library).
    For that matter, short of re-encoding files, it seems that I'm stuck with Apple's decision about which of my files are audiobooks and which are music...

  • Problem with reading MP3 tag information

    This may be a simple fix, but I'm having no luck figuring it out. I've got an application here that scans through a given directory for all files. We are going to assume that all files below the given parent directory are *.mp3 files. Every file we find is going to have its path stored into an ArrayList. After the ArrayList is created, we will then through the ArrayList, getting the String value which is a path to our MP3 file.
    The application works well when I am simply printing out the ArrayList to the console. It's printing out everything in the ArrayList. The ArrayList consists of both directories and paths to actual files. The problem comes when I am trying to take the String from the ArrayList, pass it into my getID() method. Here is the code. i've commented the line in my main method that is giving me problems.

    If I type in an actual String that is a path to an MP3, such as:
    getID("/home/tristan/My Music/Incubus - Drive.mp3"); Everything works fine. I've tried casting the value pulled from the ArrayList as a String and then passing it to the getID() method, but my exception I am getting is:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ClassCastException: java.io.File cannot be cast to java.lang.String
            at audioidreader.Main.main(Main.java:38)
    Java Result: 1Line 38 is the line I have commented out. Any ideas?

    You're right. That is a bit misleading. Anyway, I
    decided to not cast (String) to it. It was a simple
    fix just like I figured, but of course I figure it
    out after I made the post.
    getID (files.get (i).toString ());fixed my problem. Thank you.But not in the correct way. You should really use the canonical path or the absolute path.

  • How to parse xml file to read the tags

    Hi All,
    I am having a requirement to read the tags from the xml file(xml parsing).
    The main issue is *xml file is stored in the table with xml type column* (not placed directly in the server) and we have to read the tags from that xml file.
    Please help me to achieve it.

On the contrary, it's better when the data already resides in the database, though it should be in an XMLType column to leverage the full capacity of the Oracle parser.
    What's the datatype of the column exactly? CLOB or BLOB?
    Either way you'll have to convert in to XMLType datatype using the XMLType constructor.
    Did you go through the countless examples on this forum? Examples with XMLTable should be helpful.
    Post some sample data and database version if you need additional guidance.
    Thanks.

  • How can I convert the metadata tags on my mp4s to xml files so that they can be read in Windows Media Center?

    I have a library with almost 3000 movies and TV shows that I have fully tagged. However, I have decided to start using Windows Media Center and it does its metadata tagging through XML files.  I wanted to know if anyone could tell me if there was a way to extract the metadata from those mp4s and convert them to a format that WMC could read?  Thanks!!!!

    iTunes can make XML playlists so it might be all you need, I made a simple one file playlist and exported it from iTunes. The result is shown below. In principle I could delete the playlist and the entry from the library, as long as I don't delete the file, then later reimport the XML playlist file. I haven't tested this particular scenario, but I assume that iTunes will read all the properties as listed unless it can read some kind of tag from the file itself in which case the current value of the tag would take precedence.
    What I don't know is what media center would make of this file, or what its files look like, however assuming they have a similar structure that can be decoded then it should be possible to read data from the iTunes library and write out a text file that will make sense to media centre.

  • How to re-read metadata from file in Photoshop Elements 11 Organizer?

    I am currently testing Lightroom 4 and Photoshop Elements 11 as a replacement for my old softwarestack due to a new DSLR.
    In Lightroom I can read and write metadata directly from/to file. In Photoshop Elements Organizer I have found an option to write tags to files, but none to re-read the metadata after the files has been imported to the catalog.
    I would like to use Lightroom as primary organizer for import/tagging/basic corrections. But Lightroom does not have some nifty things like face/person recognition and SmartTags, so I need the Photoshop Elements Organizer to do that. The target workflow would be:
    DSLR -> Import to -> Lightroom -> tagging -> basic corrections -> write tags to file in Lightroom -> import to PSE organizer -> person recognition -> smart tags -> image edits -> write tags to files in PSE organizer ==> tags can now be re-read in Lightroom, so I get the PSE organizer changes to Lightroom.
    And that is the problem: If changes were made after this workflow in Lightroom, PSE Organizer does not know that until I can re-read the metadata from the files. If I press "write tags to file" in PSE organizer all newer Lightroom tags will be overwritten with the old tags from PSE organizer.
    Does anyone knows a solution for this problem? Or should I file a feature request for both programs?

      You can now do a lot more in the metadata panel in PSE 11. If you select a thumbnail in Organizer and click the three small dots it will bring up a dialog for the metadata fields. To add information to many photos all at once, select all the thumbnails, click the information tab and then click the button marked Add IPTC information. You can then choose to append new information to all of the selected items or to overwrite.

  • How to read tags from pdf to print in different printers (PCL or PS)

    Hello from Spain.. I would apreciate some help who to read tags from pdf to discriminate PDF Production tag for send print PDF to printer job using driver PCL or PS. I get trubles when print PDFs files made by PDFcreator (Ghostscript, intermediate PDF from PS) in PCL job printer. I need to eval tags from PDF for send command line os javascript inside Adobe Acrobat to print in the correct job printer: PCL or PS...
    Thanks.

    As noted you cannot access the "Tag" of a PDF but you can access the meta data of a PDF and one of the items recorded in the meta data is the "producer". This meta data tag is supposed contain the name of the program that produced the PDF. One can access this through the "info" property or the "metadata" property of the doc object.
    var cProducer = this.info.Producer; // get the producer application for this PDF;
    console.show();
    console.clear();
    console.println("This PDF was created by " + cProducer);
    Be aware that the user can easily modify the Producer information with Acrobat, JavaScript, or other application after the PDF has been created.

  • How to read metadata from a pdf file

    hello
    i have got xmp sdk for windows.
    i want to read the metadata from a pdf file but i cannot
    find a way to do so.
    i cannot understand that which method to use to open the file whose metadata i want to read.
    if someone can tell me by an little code example then it would be great help.
    thanks

    The sample XAPDumper read metadata in a file (PDF or not) if it is valide. If you want to keep the XAPMeta object, don't delete this object in ProcessSubstring().

  • Bug: Keywords behave incorrectly after "Read Metadata from File"

    (Happens in LR3.4 RC and probably also in previous versions... but I am not sure if it happened in LR2)
    The problem seems tro be somthing like de-sync of database status and what we see on the screen.
    1) Let's say we have a photo with keyword "abc"
    2) Click in the Keyword List on the arrow around the "abc" keyword to show only photos with this keyword (single one), leave the filter on this settings
    2) Save Metadata to File
    3) Edit XMP in an external application, add new keyword "def"
    4) Read Metadate from File
    5) Now what happens is: The photos disappers from the screen as if it lost the "abc" keyword (weird), but if you look at the Keyword List, the "abc" keyword has still 1 photo attached to it. Also, if you release the filter and find the photo, it clearly has the "abc" and "def" keywords in the Keywording panel. And you can search for this keyword in the text filter (works correctly), but if you click on the arrow around the "abc" keyword, the photo is not shown.
    6) If you restart the Lightroom, it will work correctly again.
