Reading selection parameters of transaction from Java

Hi everyone,
I 'm trying to find a way to read the selection parameters of a transaction from Java code. For example, the transaction MM03 (Display Material) expects a parameter called RMMG1-MATNR. I would like to be able to get the parameter's name in Java code via some RFC using JCO.
Regards,
Yoav.

When the write end of the FIFO pipe is closedNamed pipes can be opened through several file desciptors. When all open file desriptors referring to a pipe are closed, only then is EOF indicated at the reading side. Named pipes "dwell" in the file system, and can be accessed as files through their names in the file system.

  • Run SAP transaction from Java?

    I'm looking for answers for two questions:
    1) Can I run an SAP transaction from Java & capture the result either in a file or table.. or any such structure?
    2) Can I run an ABAP report directly from Java? and then capture the result as well? I realise that I can use the JCO to run any RFC enabled function module..? But what about a report itself.? Can I run the report behind an SAP transaction directly from Java?
    I need this information urgently, and would appreciate any help on this.

    Hi Deepika,
    I think the requirement you have asked is quite complex and there is no solution as far as i have know.
    You can use BAPI to run SAP Transactions for example BAPI_MATERIAL_DISPLAY will take you to MM03 transaction when you pass a valid material number to it.
    When i searched for the same i ended up with no solution,
    but got a good link which gave some idea

  • Call transaction from java iView (link)

    Hi,
    I would like to call SAP R/3 transaction from a java iView. I know how to do it using the UrlGenerator service. Is there any other way of doing that ? (better way)
      Thanks, Nir.

    You can Use EPCM.doNavigate() to call R3 Transaction or something like this:
    <hbj:link id="r3"
              text="R3 Transaction">
    <% r3.setOnClientClick("OpenWindow('/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.Transaction?System=SAP_R3&TCode=SE80&GuiType=WinGui');return false;"); %>

  • Help: No Parameters, HTML Output from Java Servlet

    I have a Java Servlet that reads parameters passed from an HTML form and displays them to another HTML page. I know the servlet is being invoked; however, I am not seeing any HTML output. Sending the output to a file reveals the parameters are coming in as NULL as well.
    I attempted a simple sample app with the same results. Here is what I am running:
    The HTML Form:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <TITLE>Collecting Three Parameters</TITLE>
    </HEAD>
    <BODY BGCOLOR="#FDF5E6">
    <H1 ALIGN="CENTER">Collecting Three Parameters</H1>
    <FORM ACTION="ThreeParams">
    First Parameter: <INPUT TYPE="TEXT" NAME="param1"><BR>
    Second Parameter: <INPUT TYPE="TEXT" NAME="param2"><BR>
    Third Parameter: <INPUT TYPE="TEXT" NAME="param3"><BR>
    <CENTER><INPUT TYPE="SUBMIT"></CENTER>
    </FORM>
    </BODY>
    </HTML>
    The Java Code:
    public class ThreeParams extends HttpServlet {
    public void doGet(HttpServletRequest request,
    HttpServletResponse response)
    throws ServletException, IOException {
    response.setContentType("text/html");
    PrintWriter out = response.getWriter();
    String title = "Reading Three Request Parameters";
    out.println("<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC \"-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 " +
         "Transitional//EN\">\n" +
    "<BODY BGCOLOR=\"#FDF5E6\">\n" +
    "<H1 ALIGN=\"CENTER\">" + title + "</H1>\n" +
    "<UL>\n" +
    " <LI><B>param1</B>: "
    + request.getParameter("param1") + "\n" +
    " <LI><B>param2</B>: "
    + request.getParameter("param2") + "\n" +
    " <LI><B>param3</B>: "
    + request.getParameter("param3") + "\n" +
    "</UL>\n" +
    "</BODY></HTML>");
    What happens when I "submit" from the form is the same form reloads with the query string in the URL: "http://localhost:8080/ThreeParams/?param1=1&param2=2&param3=3"
    Any assistance with either (or both) would be thoroughly appreciated:
    a) why the parameters are not being passed correctly to the servlet
    b) why the HTML output page is not displayed
    Thanks in advance!

  • Reading/Setting Process Data Objects from Java Spring Component or XSLT

    I have a BPMN process that references a Spring Component service.
    The Spring service has a Java class and within that class I'd like to be able to reference process data objects of the BPMN process.
    Ideally, I'd like to simply read and write to those objects within the Java class.
    However, if that's not possible, I don't I can set input parameters on the Java class and have it return an object.
    If I go that route, how can I pass in or return an object of a type other than your standard types (string, int, boolean)?
    For example, I have a data object that is a type I created based on a schema.
    How would I refer to that in a Java class?
    Hope that makes sense.
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi Adam.
    I'm a little confused on the order of operations.
    Here are the steps I took:
    1. In JDeveloper, I created two Java classes: one interface and one class that implements it. Initially, the one method takes parameters that are Strings. I want it to also take a data type that's defined in a schema.
    2. In the composite, drag Spring Context component onto screen. This opens the XML and here I define the <bean> that points to the two Java classes I just created.
    3. In the composite, I create a pointer from the Spring component to Exposed Services and I create a new service, which creates the WSDL.
    4. Now I edit the WSDL to import the schema that defines the type I want.
    5. In my BPMN process, I add a call to the service I just created. For Data Associations, it recognizes the changes I made to the WSDL and I can map input variables to the new type added in step 4.
    Here's where I'm stuck. In the actual Java class, I don't know how to add the parameter for the data type I created. Where is this Java object created?
    Thanks,
    Mike

  • How to Read and Generate XML file from java code.

    hi guys,
    how to read the xml file (Condition :we know only DTD or Shema only).
    How to Generate the new xml file ?(using Shema )
    And one more how directly Generate the xml from DB?
    Pleas with code or any URL

    Using XMLbeans you can generate Java objects from an XSD schema (perhaps DTDs aswell)
    Then you can create an instance of the Document object and ask it to write itself.
    This will create an XML document complient to the schema.
    XMLBeans generates a "type" safe DOM where you can only ever have a structure compilent to you schema.

  • Read, Write and create files from java applet.

    Dear All,
    I have created a two files. One is applet and one application file. I am creating a instance of application file in applet. Application file is used for reading, writing and creating files. When I invoke applet from broser it dipslays error wrt file access permission. From the forum search I know that we need to sign the applet / edit the java policy to run the code locally. Final delivery of my code should execute on different system. Its not web. I have created a html page on submitting the form it invokes applet to read the form values from param and needs to update the values in xml file located locally. Please help me on how I can proceed with this fix.
    Thanks in advance.

    Sorry if I have not stated the problem clearly. I need to update content to files hosted in local system using java applets.
    I belive there are two ways to achive that.One with jar signer and one with modifying the java policy file. But this application needs to be installed in different system locally as I have created a application with webpage as useinterface and need to update the content in local files on submission. Not sure on how to modify the java.policy files in each end user system and whats the value we need to update in java policy file. Please help me on the steps to be followed

  • Problems Accessing VARRAY from Java

    Hi,
    I am calling a stored procedure with IN parameters as VARRAYS from Java application.
    There are two schemas in the database. One main schema, say 'MAIN_SCHEMA' which contains all the table,VARRAYS,packages etc. There are public synonyms for all the database object including VARRAYS in this schema. The java application uses a connection pool created using another user say 'ADMIN'. This user has been granted priviliges for acccessing all the objects in the 'MAIN_SCHEMA'. For the VARRAYS we have created public synonyms and granted EXECUTE for ADMIN.
    However when I try to execute the stored procedure from java , I get an SQLException("invalid name pattern: ADMIN.UIDARRAY")
    I solved the problem temporarily by prefixing the main schema name to the name of the VARRAY. The sample code I have used is as below. but I am not sure if this is the correct way of doing it. I do not understand why we have to prefix the schema name if we have priviliges and public synonyms on the object.
    public void setPendingForfeituresUids(java.util.List pendingForfeituresUids) throws DAOException{
    try{
    ArrayDescriptor descriptor = ArrayDescriptor.createDescriptor(
    "MAIN_SCHEMA.UIDARRAY", con);
    array = new ARRAY(descriptor, con, pendingForfeituresUids.toArray());
    if(array == null){
    stmt.setNull(3,java.sql.Types.ARRAY);
    }else{
    stmt.setArray(3, array);
    }catch(SQLException e){
    closeStatement();
    releaseLobWrappers();
    throw new DAOException(e);
    Database and Drivers used
    I am using Oracle 9.2.0.1.0, Weblogic 8.1, Oracle Jdbc thin driver for 9.2 that comes bundled with weblogic (ojdbc14.jar)
    Any help on this is welcome.
    Thanks,
    Sunil

    Hi Sunil,
    I was wondering if you had any solution to the problem you listed.
    We are also facing a similar problem and is reported to oracle. Its a Bug as per oracle.
    Any help in getting this resolved is appreciated.

  • Running a script from java application

    How do I execute a script (sms_setver which requires parameters such ms9qa) from java application using Runtime.exec(). I tried Runtime.getRuntime().exec("sms_setver ms9qa"). But, I get this error:
    Caught: java.io.IOException: CreateProcess: sms_setver ms9qa error=2

    Same way it is actually run from a console command line.
    If you are doing this in windows then it might be using the extension to determine how to run it. If from unix then it might be using the shebang line.
    At any rate figure it out and use that instead. Usually it involves either explicitly using the shell or some other executable and the script is a parameter to that process.

  • Passing SQL-Parameters to Oracle-Reports from java

    hello,
    i want to write an application in the following way:
    on a java-frontend an user can select values for different
    parameters. these values should be to transferred to the sql-
    query of the reports rdf file. what is the syntax of an
    parameter passed from java to oracle reports.
    does this work with runtime.exec()... ?
    does anybody have an example.
    any help would be very appreciated.
    greetings
    Thorsten Lorenz

    In order to pass the parameters to report rdf, you can create user parameters in the oracle report builder, hook up the parameters with query. For example, you can create user parameter P_DEPTNO, then create a sql query: select * from dept where deptno = :P_DEPTNO. When you run this report, you give P_DEPTNO=10 as parameter, the rdf will generate report that only prints out department 10's information.
    Once you have this kind of report created, you have several ways to achieve what you want.
    1. use rwrun60. In your java program, you can invoke rwrun60 via runtime.exec(cmd) where cmd = rwrun60 report=dept.rdf userid=scott/tiger@orcl destype=file desformat=pdf desname=dept.pdf p_deptno=<value_from_java_app>
    2. similarly, use rwcli60. the cmd would be:
    cmd = rwcli60 server=repserver report=dept.rdf userid=scott/tiger@orcl destype=file desformat=pdf desname=dept.pdf p_deptno=<value_from_java_app>
    3. use rwcgi60. Instead of using runtime.exec, you should use java URL object to run the report in the web environment.
    option 2 & 3 takes advantage of powerful functionality of reports server, and it is much more scale than option 1.

  • Passing parameters from java jdbc to pl/sql

    I’m calling stored procedures from java jdbc… but looking for nicer interfaces in terms of passing data. Has anyone come up with a good way to pass data from java jdbc to pl/sql without passing a million parameters? I’m thinking here of some type of structure like pl/sql rowtype or table index type or something else. Has anyone tried to create typed objects in oracle databases and access them from java?
    Thanks, Patrick Caldwell

    Hi Patrick,
    Yes, I have created an Oracle object type, which I successfully returned to a java class, from a PL/SQL stored function, using JDBC. Environment was J2SE 1.3.1, with Oracle 8.1.7.4 on SUN [sparc] Solaris 7 with Oracle's JDBC (thin) driver. It was a while ago, so I don't remember the details very clearly, but I recall being able to figure it out quite easily using the Oracle documentation and the sample code available at Oracle's Technet Web site.
    Hope this has helped you.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.
