Reading Shared Calendar Items

Dear all!
THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR RESPONSES! And for having this forum!
I'm working on an application that requires to read Calendar Items from MS Exchange. I've been able to do this using my own account on MS Exchange.
I need to read calendars of users who have delegated me read access to their calendar.
I've shared a couple of Calendars from various users.
I've tried using using getUserNamespaces(String user) specified in the Store class, using an IMAPStore object for correct implementation.How are the user names parsed to the method getUserNamespaces in IMAPStore qualified? I'm parsing them just like "user". Should it have been [email protected]? Tried that and it doesn't seem to work either!
/**/      try{
/**/           IMAPStore sharedStore = new IMAPStore (session, urln);
/**/          sharedStore.connect();
/**/           VCalendar vC = null;
/**/           Folder[] fo = sharedStore.getUserNamespaces("user");
/**/          System.out.println(fo.length);
/**/           for (int t=0;t<fo.length;++t){
     System.out.println(fo[t].getName());
/**/                fo[t].open(Folder.READ_ONLY);
/**/                fp = new FetchProfile();
/**/                fp.add(FetchProfile.Item.ENVELOPE);
/**/                Message[] msgS = fo[t].getMessages();
/**/                fo[t].fetch(msgS, fp);
/**/                for (int i = 0; i < msgS.length; i++) {
/**/                  vC = processMeetings(msgS);
/**/           vC.dumpContent();
/**/ }catch(Exception e){Utilities.message(e.getMessage());e.printStackTrace();}
/**/ finally{ System.exit(0x0);}
I get no results, regardless of the user name I specify, wherether correct or otherwise
Is this the proper approach or is there a different approach that I need to consider?
Also tried something like this:
imap://user:[email protected]/Calendar/<delegated user name>.... Just trying...
Thanks!

Thanks! The link doesnt help though.
I'm able to login into Exchange, and can read all inbox, outbox, calendar and other items that belong to me! The problem is that I can't read delegated items. Another user in the same Exchange has assigned me read rights, but I'm unable to read the calendar!

  • Shared calendar items in multi-user calendar view

    Hi!
    I have another question:
    The new multi-user Calendar-view is great - but we have one thing, which
    is confusing to our users:
    User A has a shared calendar (the owner of this shared calendar is User
    B). It is clear, that User A can see appointments of this shared
    calendar in his "main Calendar" if this shared calendar is "enabled".
    But User A cannot see the calendar items of this foreign shared
    calendar, if he changes to the new multi-user - view.
    Does this work as designed or is it a bug?
    Thanks a lot

    Does User A also have read proxy rights to User B's calendar?
    Also, which version/patchlevel of the client are you using?

  • Shared Calendar items don't update in caching mode

    Hi Forum,
    we use a shared calendar for entries like holidays and who is in standby in off hours etc.
    We use a dedicated account for this and shared the calender to all colleagues.
    Since we upgrade to 2014 (build 116215), changes won't be updated in caching mailboxes. Only new entries appear correct and fast.
    We all use the caching mode, some clients are still on version 8 and some on 2014, but all show the same behavior.
    What happened: The guy who is in standby this week is sick. Colleague edit the entry.
    We all still see the old entry, even the next day.
    I only get the updated entry if I "retrieve entire mailbox".
    As you maybe guess: the entry is already updated in the online mode.
    What is going wrong here? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
    Cheers,
    Pascal

  • Sharing Calendar Items via iPhone?

    If I use the calendar feature of my iPhone, is there any way I can send calendar items to other iPhone users or MS Outlook users?
    (If not, there really ought to be. That's a pretty basic tool Outlook users really like)

    Not possible by email either but a good feedback request to provide Apple via their iPhone Feedback link.

  • Filter Shared Calendar Items content based on user

    Hi
    I am very new to Exchange development and need to find a solution to this problem:
    My outlook users must be able to view the complete calendar item description only if their name is mentioned in it. Else only the first few lines.
    I have researched into Transport Agents but I'm not sure if it can intercept Calendar changes.
    If someone could point me in the right direction.
    Thanks in advance,
    Divish

    For a conference room (or meeting room) you don't need to store that information eg who as user is going to look at the conference room calendar for that information ? An attendee or Organizer  will always refer to the appointment in their own calendar
    which will have that information. That's why with the Set-CalendarProcessing cmdlet
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd335046%28v=exchg.150%29.aspx you can configure the meeting room to automatically delete the Subject and Body of the appointment it automatically accepts eg
    The DeleteComments parameter specifies whether to remove or keep any text in the message body of incoming meeting requests.
    and
    The DeleteSubject parameter specifies whether to remove or keep the subject of incoming meeting requests. Valid input for this parameter is $true or $false.
    The default value is $true.
    If you enable both of these setting it means anybody that does look in the Meeting Room Mailbox will only see that its booked for that period and who the organiser is.
    Cheers

  • Importing shared calendar with all posted items

    We have a shared calendar with all our area events, which exists in my account, but now we wish - as a matter of urgency - to export this (with all its posted events) to a generic account, which can be updated by a few named employees - and not be tied to one user's account. Unfortunately, when I import the ics file into the generic account it appears with no contents. It seems that I will have to create a new blank calendar in the generic account, and share it's contents with all my colleagues again. Please can anyone confirm if this is so, or explain what I need to do to make it happen.
    Thank you,
    Ted.

    Aplogies. I have finally worked this out. Since I am the owner of the shared area calendar, only I have the right to add, edit or delete calendar items, but can allow those rights to other accounts. To move all calendar items, as advised, I shared the calendar (right-click on calendar in folder list, and select "Sharing") with the generic account by entering that account in the Name box, clicking the "Add User" button. Then I selected the account, now in the list of shared accounts, ticked the add, edit and, crucially, the delete box. The latter enabled me to move items from one calendar to another in the generic account, after setting the properties of both to detail view. One thing that can't be done is transfer the shared-with list, so I guess I'll need to re-share with all area staff. Thanks Danita. I got there in the end!

  • Creating item in shared calendar- it disappears when syncs with icloud!

    This has been going on for weeks.  When I create a new event on a shared calendar, the edit window closes and I see my appointment listed correctly.  A few moments later, as the "updating..." line appears at the top of the screen, the event's title and time disappears and it reverts to my default calendar at a random time during the day (same date).  I could create 10 events and the moment it tries to sync to iCloud, they are all GONE!  Anyone else notice this from a shared calendar?  FWIW- it doesn't do this when I schedule directly on icloud.com, but I find the interface to be a pain in the neck to use regularly.  All suggestions welcome.
    Thanks!

    To change your iCloud ID you have to delete the account, then sign in with the alternate ID.  Before doing this, if you want to keep your data and move it to the new account, go to Settings>iCloud and turn each of your synced data to Off, and when prompted choose to keep the data on your iPhone.  When everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account, the sign back in with your other account ID and turn syncing back on; when prompted, choose merge.
    If all your data is already in your other account then you don't need to do this.  Just delete the account from your phone, selected not to keep the data, then sign into the new account, turn on data syncing and if prompted, choose merge.

  • How to Read Outlook Exchange Shared Calendars on iPhone?

    My company uses microsoft outlook exchange and I have been using iphone syncing with this outlook exchange calendar. Besides my own calendar, on the outlook exchange, I have access to another shared calendar. I want to be able to read this shared calendar on my iPhone but cannot figure out how to do it. Previously I learned from other postings that iPhone doesn't support it.
    The new OS 3.0 support CalDav and I am wondering if this will enable me to read the shared calendars of my outlook exchange on my iPhone. Does anybody know how to do it? If the current firmware solely doesn't support it, might there are other ways to do it with supports of other apps? How about through Google Calendar? Or there are any apps can automatically copy the contents in the outlook exchange shared calendars to my outlook exchange calendar?
    Does anybody have solutions? Many thanks!

    The shared MS Exchange calendar is ICS format which SHOULD be able to be added as "Add Subscribed Calendar" in the Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars/Add Account/Other screens on the iPhone.
    I'm tring to add a 2nd Exchange Outlook calendar only and need it to sync over the air.
    Just can't find the correct way to get it entered to work? The link sent by Outlook (I'm running 2007) when you send the invite doesn't work and copy/paste to the server name is also a bust. Have tried direct copy paste, cutting off the webcal:// prefix, etc. Just won't authenticate.
    No documentation that I can find on either Apple or MS site to validate the exact syntax required.
    I can hit the https link provided by MS on my Safari iPhone browser after entering my MS Online ID and access the calendar online. And yes tried several of MS Online IDs that I have as UID/PW in the iPhone config screens without success.
    A little more info on my config.

    Have exchange acct as primary email with email contacts and calendar working
    Have CalDAV link to my wife's Google calendar working
    Have several other subscribed calendars (ics) working: US Holidays, AmericanHistory.com, and my TripIt profile.
    I DO NOT want to use MobileMe to make this work. Life would be so easy if iPhone would just support multiple Exchange accts!
    Funny thing I just noticed...spell check on forum IDs "iPhone" and "MobileMe" lol

  • ICal holidays missing - Find Shared Calendars menu item broken

    In iCal, Calendar menu, Find Shared Calendars...
    This menu item takes you to a broken (as of today) link:
    http://www.apple.com/ical/library/

    When clicking "Find Shared Calendars...," Leopard OS system sends IP packets to nwk-www.apple.com, 17.149.160.10.
    ・Source IP Address (private): 192.168.1.2
    ・Destination IP Address: 17.149.160.10 at the beginning of the session for "Find Shared Calendars..." procedure.
    Leopard 10.5.1 sends a DNS query to connect 128.241.220.87 that is NTT America. Communications between Leopard and NTT America go for a while. So is Omniture's server followed. Some unique user's information is transmitted on all the servers communication.
    Leopard queries DNS server (208.67.2222.222 which I set for Leopard) for metrics.apple.com (this seems to be a server for iTunes Store). What the deuce Leopard needs to call iTunes Store at the phase of finding iCal sharing calendar?
    Besides, I have not been purchased any products from iTunes Store for years.
    Actually, NTT America has been attempting odd access behaviors to my nodes for the recent few years before the business with Apple started whenever the hacker (I have been tracking him for three years.) is right behind me.
    Now NTT America 128.241.220.87 replies to Leopard with the ACK (TCP Acknowledgement flag) bit. Next, nwk-www.apple.com (17.149.160.10) also sends Leopard a ACK bit simultaneously. Leopard answers it with the ACK. Now the DNS server replies the ten host addresses to the query of metrics.apple.com: appleglobal.112.2o7.net, 66.151.152.125, 66.151.152.126, 66.151.152.143, 128.241.21.13, 128.241.21.14, 128.241.21.15, 128.241.21.146, 128.241.21.149 and 128.241.21.163.
    66.151.152.xxx = Omniture, Inc that provides web analytics solutions for internet channel monitoring. They operates the 2o7.net domains. For more information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omniture
    128.241.21.xxx = NTT America, Inc. (http://www.nttamerica.com/products/index.php)
    At the last session, Leopard queries "wsidecar.apple.com," but strangely the DNS server answer the canonical address which is "wsidecar.apple.com.akadns.net" with its address 17.149.160.15 but not DNS registered address 17.112.152.39.
    17.149.160.15 (Apple's server but not 17.149.160.10) sends Leopard a FIN/ACK bit which means the TCP connection is closed by the server ONE-SIDEDLY despite Leopard answers to 17.149.160.15 with the acknowledgement to get ready for the US calendar sync data download start.
    Here is a nslookup wsidecar.apple.com:
    $ nslookup
    wsidecar.apple.com
    Server: 208.67.222.222
    Address: 208.67.222.222#53
    Non-authoritative answer:
    wsidecar.apple.com canonical name = wsidecar.apple.com.akadns.net.
    Name: wsidecar.apple.com.akadns.net
    Address: 17.112.152.39
    CONCLUSION: There are a few inconsistencies on TCP/IP communications.
    My computer: Power Mac G5 Dual 2.7 GHz/5GB DDR SDRAM

  • ICal Server Shared Calendars "403" Error

    Greetings,
    We are currently running a 10.7.4 Server with 10.7.4 clients. The problem is with the calendar system's sharing funtion. Some users will consistantly receive an error message "403" Stating that the user does not have permission to edit the item when they edit an item or change an existing event to another user's shared calendar. After some troublshooting I found that if I made the claendar in question the default calendar in iCal, I was able to create vents without problem. I have tried removing the problemed users from that calendar's list of shared users, and changing permissions back and forth from Read to Read/Write without any success. There are no iCloud or MobileMe accounts on any of the client machines, a pertinent negative as searching for a resolution to this issue yeilds many similar problems related to those services.
    Summary:
    Creating or editing an event in a shared calendar within iCal (while not the host of sdaid calendar) results in a error code 403. However, when the user in question changes their default calendar to the shared calendar, there is no issue creating new events. The issue is only persistant with a few users. Other users have no issue manipulting existing records in the same shared calendar.
    Configuration:
    OS X Lion Server (10.7.4)
    iCal service is configured properly
    Clients are all running 10.7.4
    Screenshot of the error message:
    Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

    I have got same problem.
    After importing the calendar user can't create new appointments.
    It isnt possible to add a new appointment.
    let me know if there is an solution?
    Thanks.

  • Can not add a New appointment to a shared calendar in Outlook 2010, can only add a New Meeting.

    Hi
    I can not add a new appointment to a shared calendar in Outlook 2010. I can see the calendar and appointments in it (all appointments are marked as busy, the detail can not be seen. I want it to do this) and I can and a New meeting to the shared calendar
    but I can not add just an appointment.
    I do not want e-mail being sent to the owner of the shared calendar everytime I add something.
    When I view the appointment that im creating in the shared calendar the New appointment button is greyed out but the New meeting button is available.
    The permision on the shared calendar for the user is:
    Custom
    Read = none
    Write = create items, create subfolders, edit own
    delete = Own
    Other = folder visable
    Thanks
    contributor permission in outlook 2010 calendar does not work, I have given this as permision but issue is the same.  We currently connect to an exchange server 2003;

    Hi Cmrl,
    Does it happen when you create an appointment via OWA?
    Does it happen when you create an appointment via Outlook 2003?
    Do you have any mobile device?
    How many users encountered the issue, all users or some user?
    At first, I suggest you recreate outlook profile.
    At second,
    use PFDAVAdmin

  • Google Calendar - can't edit or delete shared calendar events

    I have several shared calendars on my Google Apps account. I created all calendars and have full sharing and edit rights on each. I'm using webOS 3.0.2 on my Touchpad, and I can see my shared calendars. However, when I use the webOS calendar I do not have the option to edit or delete any events on these shared calendars. This is a pretty frustrating issue. Is there any fix for this besides using Google Calendar in the web browser, which has display issues, to say the least, for me.
    Thanks.
    Post relates to: HP TouchPad (WiFi)

    They are the standard kind. I create the events or my wife does in Google calendar. I can view them and they seemt to sync up just fine, but when I select them in calendar there is neither an option to edit nor delete. I also cannot create new items on these shared calendars from the Touchpad, although they are all visible in the calendar app itself. I'm hoping this gets resolved as this is almost an issue big enough that I may return the touchpad in my 14-day return window.

  • Outlook 2010 Slow Access to Shared Calendar

    We have a small 100 user domain running Exchange server 2010 and outlook 2010 clients.  When an admin
    opens a shared calender from within Outlook 2010 it often takes 30 seconds or more to display the calender.. When using OWA the calendar display almost instantly so it's not a server issue.  We have a gigabit network and NO heavy mail or network users
    so it appears to be an Outlook client issue.
    I have done some research and it appears this was not a problem with prior versions of Outlook client as many other reported this issue after upgrading from prior versions of Exchange-Outlook.
    Anyone seen this issue and know if MS fixed it?

    Hi,
    Does this issue happen to all shared calendars? If this issue only happen to a certain shared calendar, we may try to delete some unwanted items in the shared calendar and then try opening it again to see the result.
    In addition, are you using Outlook with Cached Exchange mode enabled? Do you have the "Download Shared Folders" options enabled? If not, please enable the option and then test the issue again. To enable the option, please go to File > Account
    Settings > Account Settings, double click your Exchange account to open the Change Account wizard. Then, click More Settings, switch to Advanced tab and make sure the "Download Shared Folders" option is enabled.
    Please let me know the result.

  • Printed a shared calendar with tasks

    I need to print my boss's daily calendar with the tasks listed on the right side, but although both his calendar are tasks are shared with me and I can view them, it won't let me print the calendar with the tasks from my outlook.  From other
    discussions I saw people recommending the Calendar Printing Assistant for Outlook, but it looks like that only works in Outlook 2007 and it won't work on my Outlook 2013.
    Is there any solution for this besides adding his mailbox to my computer?

    Hi
    As per the information and details provided by you, to print a shared calendar with tasks, please follow these steps: -
    In Outlook 2013, you need to ensure the print settings are correct first.
    Go to the
    Calendar; enter Day view by clicking the Day button above the Calendar.
    File tab >
    Print. In the list at the right ensure Daily Style is chosen under
    Settings. Then click the Print Options button just above the
    Settings list. In the Print Dialog box that opens, right in the middle is a button that says
    Page Setup; select that.
    Print setup dialog box that opens, in the
    Format tab, find the Options block on the lower left. In that block, the second item down is labeled
    Tasks. From the drop-down menu to the right of Tasks, choose
    To-Do list.
    In that same dialog box you probably want to clear the checkmark next
    “include: Notes area (blank)” to make more room for tasks.
    Now click
    OK first and then Print on the next screen. That’s it. The setting should be saved.
    I hope this information will be helpful for you.
    Thanks and regards

  • Shared Calendar and Permissions

    Hello,
    I have a shared calendar that we use in my organization and only 1 person has publishing editor rights while the rest of the company has reviewer rights. The problem is that if a reviewer opens a time block, instead of restricting the ability to post to
    the calendar, it lets them send a meeting invite. Any idea on how I can set it to completely block the reviewers from being able to send the request?
    Also, we are using o365 with my Outlook 2010 set up.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    I can confirm if a user has been granted with the Reviewer permission in Outlook 2010, when he double clicks on a time block, a meeting invitation is created.
    While with the same permission in Outlook 2013, the user will get a message that says "You don't have permission to create an entry in this folder..."
    As far as I can tell, it should be by design in Outlook 2010 and we can't change this so far. Anyway we don't have to worry about this too much, the user only creates an invitation window and only when the calendar owner accepts it will an item be created
    on the calendar.
