Ready to move my service after over 8 years

It was time for my upgrade so I decided to go with the LG Vortex because they were free online. Well after I ordered and recieved the phones I found that I had ordered two new lines instead of upgrading my lines. I had to drive 1 1/2 hours to a corporate store to fix the problem. Then I was told I had to send the free phones back and buy ones at the store and my account would be creadited. Well, it was NOT and was told I had to pay for them. THIS IS NOT RIGHT!! I have been a customer since 2003 and never late on a payment and this is how they treat their loyal customers!! Not anymore I am moving services as soon as my contract is up.

When ordering them online, did you purchase them as "An Existing Customer" and not "New Customer"?
There are 2 different options under "Existing Customer" - "Upgrade your Phone" and "Add a Line"
If you did not select Upgrade Your Phone, you have only yourself to blame for this. The different options are clearly laid out when purchasing online.

    Yup. This is fully ridiculous that you can't cancel your updates once you start. I love the tool but this is on pretty significant issue.
    Sometimes I accidentally move a mtg or make some edit while viewing and you can't back you!!

  • Suddenly unable to connect to Orange Livebox after over a year of use

    I have been able to successfully connect to my Orange Livebox since getting my Ipod touch over a year ago but suddenly can't any longer. My livebox shows the Ipod as paired & Wifi enabled & my Ipod can see my Livebox but just wont connect. It says unable to join Livebox. It asks for the password which I enter (I never had to do that before it started playing up) but it still wont let me in.
    I've treid to reset back to factory settings & reset network. It won't let me "forget this network" & try to pair again.
    Any ideas most welcome please as I'm getting very frustrated.

    "E_ADEPT_IO ActivationServiceInfo...", means that ADE could not contact the Adobe activation server (adeactivate.adobe.com).  If you network is setup correctly and you can get to the server in the browser, then the next most likely problem is a firewall (McAffee, LittleSnitch, etc...) prevent ADE from getting outside network access.

  • Screaming Fans - new after over a year

    Hi. I've had my MBP (C2D) for over a year. Recently, the fans have started screaming. At the momebt, they are at 3200 rpm and I'm only running Word and a Firefox browser, with 3GB ram and an external 1680x1050 monitor.
    Any ideas?
    BTW, I'm used to running the machine 'maxed out' - with Windows XP in Parallel taking 1.5G of ram, plus Photoshop CS3 and Lightroom and Entourage and Word, etc. When I do that, the fans totally scream (5000+ rpm) and I can understand that. (Incidentally, shutting down Entourage often stops the fans. Gee, I wonder why).
    But now, I'm running almost bare-bones and they are still going up and down between 2500 and 3200. Any suggestions.

    One thing to try. Open Activity Monitor and set the upper window to "All Processes". Check through the CPU column and see if anything is running that shouldn't be and using a lot of CPU. Sometimes a process will hang up and cause lots of heat and fan activity.
    Right now I have 7 applications open and the CPU is 93%-98% idle.
    I presume both fans are running at about the same speed? If one were at zero, I would suspect a thermal sensor had gone out. But it might not hurt to run the Apple Hardware Test anyway just to be sure the thermal sensors are functioning properly. If not, you'll get an error code with "SNS" in it.

  • DSL down EVERY month for over a year!

    This is both sad and ridiculous that I've have had my DSL internet go down pretty much every month for over a year now and I can never ever get a reason, requested call back or decent credit/discount for all my pain, suffering, time and heartache this has caused me!
    Finally after over a year of calling and verizon telling me EVERTIME that my line is coming up with an issue did I get an agent who finally listened to me that it's every month and said "I'm going to fix this for good!" He told me that he was going to authorize my line be changed over or something- said its costly to Verizon but since its documented that there really is outages every month from my line he will do it he also gave me 800 number said when all was said and done I could call and receive credits for my constant issues! Said my internet would be down few hours while this was being done but he would call me as soon as it was done on Monday he "promised" well this was end of June 2015, maybe 22nd anyway morning came and like he said no internet and got text that Verizon was coming, ok no idea what time it went down but I got up at like 8 am and it was down well now it's like 2pm and still down and never once did I see a Verizon truck nor did I get any call - I call 800 # told my line is still showing being worked on but he would call and check what was going on... Comes back said they are still working on it but they said you can reboot your router/modem. "Would you like me to assist with that?" I say yes and he gets me back on and says I will get a call as soon as everything is all set with my line, he confirms both my phone numbers and I thank him. I go to work and still hear nothing so at around 10pm I call Verizon and get someone from India saying my line is still being worked on and that I would receive a call when fixed. We hang up and I call the 800 number I was given for my credit, agent was nice but said if line is being worked on still I can't get any credits until work is completed well I get a beep on my phone and ask agent if she could hold on I think Verizon was calling me back... It was the agent from India saying he now sees my work is completed (at like 10:30 pm) so I thank him go back to agent from America and tell her so she says "let me check again" comes back says I'm sorry I'm showing on my end still down and says I should call back tomorrow to get my discount. I call back next morning and I was told that she didn't see any work done on my line that agent talked me through router/modem reset and fixed issue! I was like NOOOO! She said she would make some more calls because she read the notes and said I was right this makes no sense.... She said unfortunately I couldn't get a straight answer but I'll take money off for your inconvenience! Ok now it's almost 3 weeks later and my internet is completely down!!!! I call and I'm told "I see your internet is going down on a pretty regular basis let me call a level 2 tech stand by"he comes back says I'm in luck tech said they are going to reroute my lines! I was like WOOOOO I was told 3 weeks ago that was done and that I want to be connected to that tech or tech manager or supervisor and he tells me he can't connect me but assures me they will call me back.... Nothing... Today I get a text saying my issue will be fixed by Wednesday Juky 15th ... Still no call so around 2pm I call get agent who just keeps saying my issue will be resolved by Wednesday I tell her I want tech supervisor to call me! She says that she can't but assures me once issue is corrected Wednesday a tech supervisor will call me! I said no you guys always say that and that I want a tech supervisor... She tells me she put in a remark and that a tech supervisor will call me...
    HOW DO I GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER FROM YOU GUYS? I have pretty much every service you provide in my area! Home phone, DSL, directv through you, personal cell phone, work phone! Not counting my work phone I'm paying over $320 a month and I'm always on time and been a loyal customer for so many years that I now lost count and you have made my family's internet experience a living nightmare not to mention that every time my internet goes down it screws up my surveillance cameras go down and the camera guy now charges me a fee to come down and get them going on my network because it's so frequent and keeps telling me to go Comcast! I'm going broke staying with Verizon and I WANT someone to call me and explain what's going on and take ownership and comp me for all the time I wasted! All this and Verizon wireless won't even throw me a few more gigs a month on my service since I have to use my wireless cell gb's due to my verizon DSL being down and not being able to get online any other way!

    Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you.

  • I am a customer Verizon customer of over ten years...I am notgettingany assistance from the customer service department. Since September I am being charged for a Samsung phone that I returned based on the process that verizon has set.return the defective

I'll talk to multiple customer service reps and nothing has really been done about anything other then we'll keep looking or so for stretching it out. since September I've been dealing with thison a month-to-month basis they cut my services they reinstate me and tell me that they're going to knock off the reconnection charge as I have four lines. Unfortunately my main reason for this phone is my work emails which I need to do because I do work and to contact my mother who is 85 years old and I'm the sole caregiver. I don't know what else to do. I have spoken to a supervisor  by the name of William or Will oats in that he said he was going to look into it and was going to help me out. Never heard from him again- just original email to quiet me down. I've been sending him emails just about every day trying to make sure that I get my message across. Seems like Verizon Wireless really doesn't care about the long-term customers. Looking forward to hearing from someone that can help me with my plight.process is faulty for returns. You don't accept them in the stores because as one customer service rep stated you can't get your own employees to send the devices back. Now the responsibilities is on the customer the paying customer the one that keeps you alive. And it's not fair that I there's no way I can prove that I put it in the mailbox. So what are my next stepswhat is it that I need to do to clear up this charge of $600. It's about economy as $600 to me at this very point it's a lot of money. I've been your customer for 10 years I've got four lines I've given will my mothers telephone number home number..number but now she's got to sit by the phone to make sure that she picks up all the calls.     I have a similar problem with my fathers service, it wasns't $600 but what is rightfully your money, you deserve it back, I wrote this complaint on the Consumer Affairs website:
    In August 2014, my son went to Target to get a new cell phone and was told his Unlimited Data would still be on his plan (he shared a line on his grandfathers account). Well it turned out that Target messed it up and my son immediately called Verizon to get it taken care of but they were not able to do anything about the lost unlimited data but the customer service rep did try to find the best offer for him. In the mean time Verizon was suppose to send him a new cell phone, they never sent it and he was without a phone so he took his business to another cell provider. Verizon DID charge him for the new service that they had spoke about. So when the new bill (Sept) came, the service he never used was on the bill and when we called to inquire about it we spoke to a Judy and told us we would be receiving a credit of the amount that was paid. Well, we got the next months bill (Oct) and still no credit, so called them again and spoke to a Nadine ** . She looked into the account and saw the amount that was paid and said she would submit it again for a credit and she would get back to me in 2 days, no call back.
    The next bill (Nov) came and no credit again, call again but didn't get the girls name and she put me on hold to look over the previous conversations. She said she sees in the records about the credit and said it takes a while to get it thru the supervisor authorization and she would put it in as a "rush priority". On Dec. 5th my dad's cell was turned off, so I call yet again to Verizon, and explain the whole story to them again. This girl explained to me that the request was not put in correctly and that she would submit it right this time, they even turned the cell back on for him.
    So here we are today, Dec. 30, 2014, I get the bill...NO CREDIT, call up and get a gentleman in billing, explain this whole thing again and he transferred me over to customer service where I spoke to a Jordan and yet again told him the story. By this time I was fuming, 3 almost 4 months of calling for this credit and he looks into the account and tells me there is nothing that states there is a credit so all the other customer service reps see it but now it is gone. He said he can only issue me a $25 credit to the bill, not even close to what the bill was that I paid. At this point I wanted to speak to a Supervisor and even that was a problem.
    He did call me back after my phone died. He put me on hold again to speak to a supervisor himself and said that he can only offer me $100 credit for all my troubles for the past few months. I took the $100 credit because Jordan said if I spoke to the supervisor, the $100 credit might not be an offer anymore so it was either take it or leave it. Now where I stand, they get away with NOT giving the credit due to customers. I am done with Verizon.
    today being March 12, 2015, he FINALLY got the said $100 credit...but because of their delay, he service was shut off and I refuse to pay the reconnection fee due to their neglect of a customer of over ten years. My father's service will NO longer be with a place that has NO VALUE in customer service....Verizon robs their customers anyway they can.

  • Error message saying this device cannot be used because Apple mobile device service is not started.  What does this mean and how do I start service....had these devices for over a year now??

    When I tried to sync my iphone 4 and ipad in iturnes, an error message popped up saying this device cannot be used because Apple Mobile Device service is not started!  What does that mean and how do I start service?  I've had these devices for over a year and update and sync regularly and have never seen this message before!

    I got that message yesterday. I'm new at this so don't know if this is the correct solution but it worked for me. I reset my iPod by holding the 2 buttons down until the apple appears AND I restarted my computer. After that everything worked.

  • I have a macbook pro, a little over 2 years old, have been advised I need a new hard drive....after 2 years!!!!

    My macbook pro is just over 2 years old....for the last couple of months it has been running very slowly,the beachball is in permanent residence!

    Over a very large sample of drives, these drives are very reliable, despite being moved around inside laptops.
    You do not have a very large sample, you have ONE drive. Anything that happens, from having it run for twenty years to having it die on the first day, is within the normal range.
    The rapid resolution to your problem IS to replace the drive. At your leisure, you may find that after re-writing every block with Zeroes (a process that can take half a day and has no guarantee of success) enough spare blocks can be found to return the drive to service. Or maybe not. If you are willing to invest the time and energy to do this, you may get a nice backup drive, or you may get a doorstop. No one can predict ahead of time.

    i am using a mid2011 macmini with Lion Server (10.7.2-Build 11C74) loaded over the Appstore, connected to an Airport Extreme (FW 7.6). I configured the VPN service in the Server settings and forwarded the profile to the clients. VPN connection works just fine.
    When i restart the macmini none of the clients are able to connect with the VPN Service. Other services are running without any problems (screensharing, filesharing,...), but i cannot connect with the VPN service through any client.
    After i restart the VPN Service (switch off and back on) in the Server App on the macmini it works again.
    Is anyone experiencing similar behaviour with the VPN service after a restart of the server? Has anyone suggestions how to get the VPN service working even after a restart without switching it off and on again?
    If you need further information please reply, i will hand it in immediately.
    FYI:
    I did make a complete clean install of the Server, without import of the timemachine backup to ensure the system is "clean".

  • Is it possible to not pay ATT if I stopped using service after buying iPhon

    I would like to buy iPhone 3Gs and I don't mind subscribing to ATT, but my concern is:
    What if I didn't like iPhone & neither ATT service after buying it, *is it possible just to stop using both of them (iPhone & ATT) or I'll have to pay for 2 years no matter what happens?*
    Its logical that if I didn't pay after 4-5 months, they can stop the service & iPhone will get locked again and that's all, isn't it?

    You can return an iPhone for payment credit within 30 days after the purchase date - less a 10% restocking fee, and cancel the contract with AT&T within the same time frame with no early contract termination fee charged by AT&T. If you cancel the contract after the initial 30 days, you will be charged an early contract termination fee by AT&T and you keep the iPhone. The iPhone will remain carrier locked with AT&T, and unless the iPhone remains activated with AT&T, you have no warranty coverage. The iPhone includes a one year warranty.
    If you don't pay after 4-5 months and you ignore being contacted by AT&T about your past due balance, your service will be cancelled, AT&T would eventually turn this over to a collection agency, this would be reported to credit bureaus affecting your credit history. Go to get service with another carrier with a subsidized phone, and you will likely be forced to pay a deposit before being granted credit again with a post-paid account.
    The iPhone is sold in the U.S. as carrier locked with AT&T only, and remains carrier locked with AT&T regardless if the iPhone remains activated with AT&T or not.

  • Just want to get started. I am unable to move beyond the voice over welcome screen.  Any advice would be welcome.

    I just want to get started with my new out of the box MacAir.  I canot move beyond the voice over welcome screen.  It seems to be stuck.  What do I need to do to advance out of it? 

    Bt seem to have got their act together. After six days! All of a sudden it works. What a surprise, shame their help desk would not admit anything was wrong.

  • Microcell stopped working after working fine for over a year

    Hi everyone, My Microcell stopped working after working fine for over a year
    What happens now is that when it boots up all is green but the wireless network bars LED keeps flashing forever.
    I know that as part of the normal boot process it first scans all 3G channels to pick the least conflicting ones before it initializes the internal 3G radio. Typically that takes good 10 minutes. However now it never finishes that scan and gets stuck there blinking green forever. Obviously nothing has changed on my side of things; I don't know whether something has changed in the neighborhood in terms of AT&T area controller or what not. Any help will be very much appreciated. Thak you!

    Answer ALL the questions below as best you can and we'll try to help you.
    MicroCell™ TroubleShooting Questions:
    Have you read the Tech Guide first? 3G MicroCell Technical Guide by Otto Pylot
    Do you have an active postpaid AT&T mobile account?
    Is your MicroCell white or black?
    Who is your ISP and is your service ADSL, cable, wireless or satellite?
    What are your suscribed download and upload speeds as stated by your ISP?
    Have you tested your internet speeds (http://www.speedtest.net/)? Please run the test and post your latency, download and upload speeds.
    Have you tested your connection for VoIP quality (http://www.voipqualitytest.com/)? Please run the test and post the results that are listed under the "Advanced" tab.
    Are you using the basic connection (modem -> router -> MicroCell) or the alternate connection (modem -> MicroCell -> router/computer)? The alternate connection is not possible with the black (DPH-154) MicroCell as it has no Ethernet output but it can be connected directly to the modem to temporarily test the Microcell without the network connected.
    Are all of the cables firmly in place?
    Do you have a combined modem/router (gateway) or a separate modem and router? What are the makes and model numbers for your equipment?
    Have you met the minimum requirements for router settings as outlined in the Tech Guide?
    What other equipment (access points, switches, computers, WiFi components, gaming consoles, etc.) do you have connected to your network?
    What does the light pattern look like on the MicroCell (power, ethernet, GPS, and 3G)? Are they all a solid green or is any of them blinking green or red, and if so, which one?
    Have you done a hard reset of the MicroCell? See the Tech Guide for instructions.
    Have you deactivated and reactivated your Mcell using AT&T's MicroCell website?
    Does the ac adapter feel warmer than the top of the MicroCell where the vents are?

  • Been without any phone service for over 8 hours

    There is no way to report the outage online as the diagnostic does not show anything.  All of Chihuahua Valley in Warner Springs, California has not had phone service for over 8 hours and Verizon will not admit a problem despite numerous phone calls from friends who are outside the community and have phone service.  One of the neighbours was told there are no reports of an outage and was told that she could make an appointment for a tech to come out on the 15th!!!!!  Well if anyone at Verizon is reading this then get off your **bleep** and get this fixed.   951 767

  • TS2755 I have 3 phones on one Icloud account. It has been this way for over a year with no issues. After and update on of the lines started getting text messages from all 3 phones. We fixed the send and receive and it was fixed. It is doing it again.

    I have 3 phones on one Icloud account. They have been this way for over a year. After an update last week one of the phones started getting messages for all of the other lines. We fixed this under the send and receive under settings. It was fine for a few days. Suddenly it started happening again. Yesterday after two hours on the phone I changed my apple id and it is still happening. Before that Verizon had told me to turn off my imessage when that happened I could not get any texts at all from other Iphone users.

    Make 3 different iCloud accounts and use ONLY for iMessage.   That will permanently fix your issue.

  • How to move SCCM service from one logical drive to another logical drive on site database server?

    We are ussing SCCM 2012 RTM in our environment. We have one central site on
    Server1 and one primary site on server2. SCCM database of both sites are on remote servers
    we have one cluster (Name: Cluster1) in that we have four running SQL servers (ServerdDB1,  ServerDB2,
    ServerDB3, and ServerDB4 ). There is one sql instance named
    Application on all four sql servers. Central site database
    CM_CAS hosted Application instance on ServerDB3.
    ServerDB2 is the failover of ServerDB3
    Now I have few queries on which I need your assistance.
    1. The SMS_SITE_SQL_BACKUP_SERVER1 service is running on all sql servers in the cluster. The SMS_SITE_SQL_BACKUP_SERVER1 service on ServerDB4 is running on L drive. I want to move this service from L drive to system drive C permanently.
    How can I do this?
    2. I tried to move SMS_site_sql_Backup_server1 service from L drive to C drive by following changes
    Change the service path in registry on ServerDB4
    Reset the SCCM central site without any modification.
    The above service moved to C drive time beaing but I do'nt know why this service came again in L drive. and running from L drive on same server. Do I need to unistall SCCM and reinstall again?
    3. Why did SCCM site database install on all sql servers ? As I ServerDB2 is the failover of ServerDB3 so it should be only ServerDB2 and ServerDB3.
    4. Why SMS_SITE_SQL_BACKUP_SERVER1 service is running on all SQL server in cluster?

    Hi,
    The server will be installed on the each of the clustered nodes. I think you may use the following to do the change.
    1. Stop the SMS_Site_SQLBackup_%SERVERNAME% on the node
    2. Remove the following Registry Keys on the node:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\SMS\Components
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\SMS_SITE_SQLBACKUP_%SERVERNAME%
    3. On the site server, browse to the fllowing registry key:
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SMS\Components\SMS_SITE_Component_Manager\Multisite Component Servers\%SERVERNAME%
    4. Change the install directory to the appropriate drive
    5. Restart the SiteComp service on the Site server
    Note: Please do a backup before doing this change, which is very important for unexpected failure.
