Okay, I am trying to call a method from my "main" method, but am getting errors. When I compile I get "non-static method <method name> cannot be referenced from a static context." what does this mean, and what do I do to get around this?
The clue is in the error
You have a method wich is declared static. Within
this method you are trying to access a variable
(possibly a class variable), which has not been
declared static. To fix it, either remove the static
declaration from the method or make the variables you
are acessing staticWell, <main> has to be static, so if you are calling methods from main, then the method has to be static.
Usually (just a programming practice), you don't call methods from main (except static methods, of course). Main is written in a class, so call constructor of that class and call methods from the constructor (which I assume you are doing some kind of innitialisation?)

Pardon me, I'm really new at this, but...
My first crack at using Garage Band went well enough just fooling around and laying down some tracks, (bass, rhythm and vocal) using my iMac's built in mic...I wasn't looking for anything great; just trying to see how everything works.
But days later when I tried to repeat the first effort I found that my guitar and vocals were being played back in a different key...wierd...I tried adjusting the key using the "Master" thingo but no other key matched reality.
On top of that...the inbuilt tuner is way off...it doesn't come close to reality (and I've got dozens of guitar tuners with which to verify that).
Where have I gone wrong?
Help!when you use siri, are you opening the internet connection. the poor internet connection also happen like that.

Siri, Read New Msgs: "I'm really sorry about this, but..."
Help! Whenever I ask Siri (iPhone 5S) to read new messages it always replies with the "I'm really sorry about this but I cant take any requests right now. Please try again in a little while." message. Network doesn't matter, happens on Wifi or LTE or 4G. Siri on my iPad has no problem reading messages aloud. Have reset the device with no effect.
Seems like we have another outage. Down for me as well. Hopefully, it won't last for days.

On your ATV turn on homesharing.
The ATV should then see your computer as long as you enter the same id on both machines.

you are correct. The Custom HTML Store that we have developed worked just fine. What about Custom HTML Libraries?
I compared the file AdobeLibraryAPI.js from r23 and r25 and they are quite different.
Up to r24, the Custom HTML Library was incompatible with Custom HTML Store. Apparently, the Store API (adobe.dps.store) was replaced by the Library API (adobeDPS.libraryService). Can you confirm if this is still the case?
Also, I really need a way to switch from one application state to another, something like adobe.dps.store.goToLibrary() or adobe.dps.store.goTo('library'). Is there anyway to achieve this? Maybe using the Library API?

Hi, I am new to this support site so forgive me if I am doing it wrong but I have a problem that I am at a loss as what to do. My (very) old mac 10.2.8 won't switch on..I really only use it for music , there is a vast amount of music stored in it and am heartbroken that it won't even switch on. I have no idea where to start on trying to fix it. Can somebody please help me on where to start on fixing it
You might want to try resetting its power management unit; see the following tech notes:

The reason I'm suggesting this is that some startup settings are stored and preserved by a tiny battery that lasts about 5 years, inside the computer. When that battery dies, the computer may forget things like what time it is and which disk to start up from. If your Mac is around 5 years old or more, that little battery might be on its way out.
If you can't revive the Mac, don't panic. You can remove its internal hard drive and put it inside a USB/FireWire enclosure so that it can be hooked up to another Mac, and then you can use or copy all of the files and music off of it (assuming the startup problem has nothing to do with the hard drive). -

Hello Everyone, I'm new to this forum and I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to networking so please bear with me. I have a WRT54GS w/SpeedBooster. My family an I recently took a trip. We've been getting a lot of bad weather here in the Midwest so I chose to unplug everything when we left. I fired up my laptop tonight and it did not automatically connect to my network like it usually does so I refreshed the network list and mine will not show up. However, an unsecured network with a really good signal does show up (I'm not sure if it's mine or not). Anyway, this has never happened before so I don't know where to start. go to My Network Place. You will see a monitor next to a globe with the name Linksys wrt54gs. click on it and it will take you to the sign in page for your router.

Go to Network. You will see router Linksys wrt54gs. right click on it, then click on view device webpage. you will be on the sign in page for your router.
Use admin or your password to sign in
Next click on wireless
Set wireless mode to mixed
Change network name from linksys to ?
enable ssid
save settings
click on wireless security
Set security mode to wpa2 personal
Set new password
save settings
Go to laptop
Find new network
right click on network name
click on properties
change your properties to match those on router under wireless security

Really new to Weblogic - trying to install WAR

I am really new to Weblogic, and I am trying to get a web application
that I've been given to work with Weblogic 8.1 on Windows 2000 Server.
I just installed Weblogic 8.1 today, then I've configured a Weblogic
configuration. I then copied the WAR file to the
C:\bea\user_projects\domains\mydomain\applications directory, and then
executed c:\bea\user_projects\domains\mydomain\startWebLogic.cmd.
This causes a command window to open, with the output of the Weblogic
startup, and I'm getting some "Warning" messages about the Weblogic.xml
being malformed:

The funny thing is that the application still seem to (somewhat) work,
i.e., if I point my browser to http://<myhost>:7080/admingui, I get the
page displayed, etc.
However, Weblogic is not exploding the WAR.
Is this (the WAR not being exploded) happening because of the warning
messages?
If that's the case, then how do I fix the problem in the Weblogic.xml
file, since it hasn't been extracted?
Also, can anyone tell me what the problem with that XML file might be?

For the record, I was just able to get this working by doing the
following:
1) Create a directory called "DefaultWebApp" under the "applications"
directory
2) Copy the WAR file to the DefaltWebApp directory
3) Unzip the WAR file in-place
4) After I unzipped the WAR file, I was able to fix the weblogic.xml
file in the WEB-INF directory
5) Once I did all that, WebLogic seems to be happy (no warnings).

Hello, Im a new programmer, very new actually, heh. After constructing my first example of an applet, and compiling it, I tried to include it into a web page on my hard drive, the .class file being in the same folder and everything with the .html file, yet it tells me it cant find the class. Now, Im new to this forum, and Im not sure if this is the place to post, and I know some might not want to play "tech support" too. Anyone know whats going on though? The compiler gave no errors, Im running IE 6.0 with Java 2 support (I would assume), and I can even view my applet within JBuilder 5's applet viewer-deal. My example has been "reduced" to mimic exactly that of the book itself, and I dont know, Im just lost. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it, thanks.
Stemco, was was that about using a converter? I did extend my applet from the javax.swing.JApplet import-dealie, instead of the java.applet.Applet one, so I need to convert it or something? Sam's "Learn Java in 21 Days" didnt mention that really at all. And thanx SpinozaQ, I guess I'll look for a Java 2 VM somewhere, I didnt know Microsoft couldnt include those. Supposedly I downloaded Microsofts latest VM when I stried to fix my problem, (I had a hunch that was the problem), and it still didnt work and I was a wee confused. Sux though, because this book assumes Java 2 capabilty, and no one seems to run that by default! Thanx you two, I'll get back to work now ;). Ha, and yeah, I do know what happens when you assume....

is the background apart of your image or is the image on a different layer?
if the white background is on a different layer you can simply delete the layer for the layers window which you can find in Window>Layer. you will need to delete the background layer by dragging it into the little rubbish bin icon down the bottom right of the layers window.

Dumb question but I'm new to this
Hello all, what is the difference between saving a song as a song or project,,what is the benefit if any of saving it as a song?,, stupid question i know but i'm new to this stuff-- thanks!
1. There are very few times when saving as a song would be prefered (making a backup or template maybe). When you open a new song, save it as a project the first time. After that, you can just hit "save".
2. You should delete any audio you don't need from the Audio window. If you just delete it from the Arrange view, it's really not deleted, the regions are just removed. It's best not to delete audio from the Finder either, but to use the Audio window. In the Audio window there's an option Edit > Select Unused that shows which regions and files are not being used. Then select Audio File > Delete File(s).
